Captivate

Hi My department is not using an LMS. I am exploring options for capturing quiz results. So can captivate write to csv, txt, SQL database, xlsx? What options, if any, in the internal server field require NO programming.

All: I have inserted a 360 Slide into a Responsive Project with two Hot Buttons that display text when clicked. So far so good however. I created an Adnaced Action to "Contimue" however, the Playbar is not displayed for the Learner to click. Any advice? Thank you. Bruce

If you are using the Canvas LMS, could you test to see if you can run a freshly uploaded Captivate HTML published file? I am trying to see if it is just me or if something has changed in Canvas in the last two weeks. It has been that period of time that once I upload into the file section I am not getting any Captivate file to play (just spinning wheel). Everyhting was fine prior to two weeks ago. All my previously uploaded files still play fine. It is just new files uploads that are impacted. I can upload HTML files that I have handcoded (some study notes) and those run fine. It is just Captivate files (non-360) going tot he files section I am struggling with.P.S. Canvas is like death from a thousand papercuts. This is my first and last contract to use this LMS. Its behavior is so inconsistent.  

Hi - Trying to open CP 2019 as have up till last week - and a sign in required screen appears. Ok, I can sign in. then it wants to activate or run in trial mode - Ok, I enter my last known serial number which it doesn't accept. Wait, this is a subscription, maybe I can reinstall - no, the download button under manage my subscription goes to a general Adobe Creative Cloud page without any links for CP. Of course, there is a project due in two days and support, well is support... not available. Any ideas about what is going on here? or how to resolve? thanks, Fred

I don’t get any background music, exporting to HTML I cannot see that I am doing something wrong and feel I’ve tried everything.In audio menu, I choose Import to and Background. Then I import a music file, choose Loop and volume. Then save and close,           That’s it. That’s all. Am I doing something wrong? The music won’t even play on the first slide.ThanksJan 

Hello,I am trying to set my "GLOBAL" preferences so i do not need to change them again for each project.I open Captivate (not opening any project) i go to my Edit/preference.Under DEFAUT setting i need to change the Text Option to Smart Shape but i do not  have the Deafult style link avaialbe.  pls see attached images.  I go through the list but nothing changes.I have cleared my cache, even tried to re-install nothign helped...Pls see attached images.please help.

Ich verwende Captivate englisches Release 2019 - 11.5.Ich habe eine Drag and Drop Interaktion (nicht im Quiz integriert) mit 2 Versuchen, no Failure Caption and no Success Caption, Reset-Button und Submit-Button werden angezeigt und ich habe einen eigenen Next-Button. On Success und On Failure werden mit Advanced Actions individuelle Feedbacks angezeigt. Nach dem Beantworten der Folie wird mit Klick auf Next zur nächsten Folie gesprungen.Nachdem 2. Versuch, egal ob richtig oder falsch beantwortet, verschwinden beide Buttons. Ist aber der 1. Versuch bereits richtig beantwortet verschwindet nur der Reset-Button und der Submit-Button bleibt sichtbar. Wie kann ich den Submit-Button (nicht ansprechbares internes Objekt) auch nach dem 1. richtigen Versuch unsichtbar setzen?

I feel like I've got to be missing something, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to select the eyedropper tool in the character color picker area. All three of the pallette icons to the left of it are selectable and respond accordingly, but although the square shows around the eyedropper when I hover over it and click, the eyedropper cursor never appears. Very frustrating, and I'm almost certain I've used it before in the short time I've been learning Captivate 2019. Sorry if I'm missing something really obvious, and thanks in advance for any advice!  Cheers, ~Scotty

Since setting up the cloud to use with Captivate, I've read the Flash is no longer the way to go.I'm still looking to create interactive content where a person can click on something and then be taken to another page in the same application but can't find anything other than Captivate to do this.Is there another Adobe progam I can use and have it output to something I can use on my website?Below is a sample of what I'm trying to accomplish:http://webmacaid.com/AU_6_Time_Capsule_AC_Manual.htmlAny help pointing me in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

Hi there We are a studio who purchased the monthly subscription for Adobe Captivate but going on 3 months later and we still have not recived a serial number or activation code from Adobe. Apart from being able to use the Captivate software for the free trial period (30 days) we are not able to launch and use the app - even through we are being charged monthly for it. We have followed all the suggestions on how to find and view the serial code, but it is simply not there in our Adobe account page. Under the serial code tab it is blank. We have sent numerous messages and opened support tickets for this issue, but we have not even received an automated reply from Adobe and no one form Adobe has bothered to contact us to rectify this. Adobe are quite happy to take the studio's monthly subscription payment, but is not bothered in actually sending us the serial number or activation code so that we can use the app we are paying to use. If anyone can shed some light on how to a

I'm a beginning Captivate user, so bear with my basic questions.  I want to insert "Continue" and "Previous Slide" buttons on each slide to give user the capability to go to next slide or back to previous slide.  I would also like to give them the ability to replay the same slide.  I selected the corresponding "Go to the next slide" and "Go to the previous slide" options in the On Success: field, and put the Continue and Previous Slide buttons both at the end of the Timeline, one layer on top of the other.  When I preview the slide and click on the "Previous Slide" button, it pauses for a second then just goes to the next slide, like it is ignoring the command to go to the previous slide, and defaults to the next slide command.  Any idea why it does this?  Also, is there not a "Replay slide" option?  I didn't see anything in the On Success: field.  Thanks for any help.      MacLean

Hi Community! I am noticing that after I publish my course and share through SCORM Cloud that some objects are misaligned on some of the slides. But when I go back to the course and preview in the Captivate App, all is fine. I don't want to share a messy finished product so I'm curious if anyone has come across this issue and have advice on how to remedy it. Thanks!

It would be nice to be able to use the NDI virtual input as a different webcam for the video demo feature in Captivate.  However, after installing Newtek's NDI tools 4, trying to do a video demo crashes Captivate 2019 every time.  Uninstalling NDI tools seems to be the only work-around, unfortunately.  

Hi, Good Day. I want to seek your most humble assistance if there is a way that a learner will not be able to close the browser window unless they click the 'exit' button? The reason I ask this is the learner must reach first the survey question popup window, and inside that survey question window, a button is added and can perform 'exit,' or in this instance, the learner can finally close the specific browser tab where the SCORM is loaded

Hello,  I have a slide with a few hypertext links for some technical terms that need to be defined for the learner. I have designed it so "pop-up" text boxes with the defnitions appear when they click the links for the terms. However, I want audio narration on the main slide as well as for the pop-up text (I have embedded audio into the text boxes of each pop-up). What is the best way to pause the main slide audio when you click on the links with these pop-ups so that you don't have dual audio tracks running at once? Obviously, I want the pop-up audio to play when they click on the link for that pop-up. Then, when they click a Close button that I have also set up for each pop-up, the pop-up should close and the main slide audio should resume from where it left off.  So right now, I have advanced actions for each of the popup links that includes a Show command for the popup as well as the close button for that popup. And then on the flipside I have an advanced action

I am working to add questions to a video to create an interactive video that will be made available to schools and others. The problem I am running into is how to make the content available. The LMS's I found want to charge by the user, which is not an option. What is the best way to share the finished product?

I read a couple of posts about using themes to manage fonts in Captivate 2019.  So I made a copy of the current theme and named it for the project I am creating.  I then changed all of the Tahoma references to Calibri, the font I need to use for branding purposes.  When I preview the project on an iPhone, all of the fonts look like Times New Roman.  How do I get Captivate to use the fonts I have used in the project and theme?

I recently just started with Captivate 2019 and I built my first full course as a practice My preview played perfectly with full course, quiz, VR and a certificate to end.Then I publish and...it all goes down the drain.... the VR is just a black screen (on every browser I can find, Firefox, chrome,Edge and explorer) and certificate is also just a black screen, the images and videos all play fine. Thats what happens on windows pc so i tried it on my android tablet and it plays perfectly, a bit slow, but VR and certificate show fine. Is this down to flash?Though i have seen this issue about the VR black screen posted a few times before but I dont actually see any solution apart from uploading to a host but this course I built was purely a test for myself so i dont particularly want to pay cash for a web host, just to see if Im still getting the Black VR screen or not.SO....? Any ideas how to sort this? Or where I can upload for free with a file manager so I dont have to go

I want to hide the "Forward" button on the playbar when on the last slide of the project, but show it again should the user navigate back to another topic. In the browser console I can toggle the Forward button between visible and hidden using:var btnFwd=document.getElementById('Forward'); btnFwd.style.visibility='visible';andvar btnFwd=document.getElementById('Forward'); btnFwd.style.visibility='hidden';respectively.I have therefore added the corresponding code to the slide On Enter and On Exit actions. The button hides on slide entry but does not display when navigating to another slide. I have tried adding a short delay before the code executes but that makes no difference.Can anyone shed any light on this? I have worked around it by adding some code to the On Enter advanced action of the other slides that checks if the button is visible and if not displays it, but I would like to understand why this is happening.

Currently using the: $$cpInfoCurrentSlide$$ of $$cpInfoSlideCount$$ command to show slide count within my prject, I have a glossary slide within my deck. Is there a way to omit the glossary slide from the overall slide count?

I'm stymied What I think should be a simple button interaction. I have created a Smart Shape button that when clicked would 'execute" another button (with text). In the first button I asked the Action to be on Success: "Show" > the second button. This does work. I have also tried Advnaced Action but no go. Thoughts? Guidance?  Many thanks! 

Is it true that Captivate's Text Input Boxes can't handle multi line text or the ability to adjust margins for the text? I can't believe what I am using now to create this post has funtionality that Captivate can't produce. Why would they intentionally limit text input functionality?

I use in Captivate the action "open URL" (in new window) with a button. I generate the e-learning in SCORM 1.2 HTML5. I publish the e-learning in the LMS "Success Factors". When I am testing in Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10 there shows up a popup-Window in the e-learning after klicking the "open URL"-Button.(I translate the message to english: "Adobe Captivate    Change to settings and deactivate poup-blocker".)If I click "OK" in this window, everything works fine, ther is no popupblocking on the part of the browser. If I am testing the e-learning package in Chrome, there is not such a message.Is there a chance to get rid of this message? Or at least to change the text of the message?Thanks anybody who can help!

When I export closed captions in Captivate 2019, it creates an empty document with only the title.Any suggestions?
