Captivate

Dear all,I am suffering from a problem. I am using a Text Entry Box to get value from the user and do further calculations. I have deleted the default submit button and created the custom one. I notice that when user enters number in the Text Entry Box and hit submit button, variable value is not updated. But if user enter a number in Text Entry Box and hits Enter key and then clicks to Submit button, then only variable assigned to the Text Entry Box is updated.Please guide me how to solve this problem.Kind regards,Vaibhav

Dear All, I am stuck with the following problem. Please help me.I am trying to goto a particular time period (e.g. 20 seconds) on timeline when the Next button is clicked and come back to 10 seconds when the Back button is clicked. I am using these codes (Window.cpAPInterface.navigateToTime (20000) and Window.cpAPInterface.navigateToTime (10000) ) in the Javascript window. But it is not at all working. Please guide me , where I am going wrong and how to navigate through the timeline using time in seconds or milliseconds.Vaibhav K Dhange

When I get the popup window asking me if I'd like to continue where I left off or cancel and I click cancel, I'm taken to the point where I left off. I don't think this is how Captivate should be functioning. Does anyone have any suggestions? Using Captivate 2019, SCORM 2004 v3, and Thought Industries LMS.

I have a Captivate project that I am updating.  Size dimentions are 880x700.  When I preview the course using the HTML and the "NEXT X SLIDES", the output size is fine.  When I publish as HTML, the size is fine.  But when I publish as EXE, the size has been reduced to 740x590.  This EXE version is what we use for department reviews but the text is so small that it can't easily be read.  I have opened other Captivate projects and reduction doesn't happen.  Can anyone tell me what happened to cause this and how to fix it? (FYI:  I am using Captivate 2019 Release 11.5.1.499 on Windows 10 wiht an HP laptop.) Thanks!

Hello all I apologise if this has been answered before. I have created many courses using Captivate 2019 but sometimes I receive a query where an empoyee has passed a course (we have quiz's on each course with a pass rate of 80%) but this has not regiesterd with the LMS which is SAP Success Factors.  1 course has been completed by over 150 people, yet 2 others have this problem ?  I have asked that they use Chrome, delete there cache and ensure that they use the X button at the bottom of the screen to close the training.   Am I missing anything else that I can ask them to try ?? Many regards Andy Chamberlain

Hello allI can´t open my projects created with Cpativate 2017 in Captivate 2019.I have checked all the error messages (see image attached) and have also searched in Forums but couldn´t find a solution.I have checked other forums and solutions such as:https://elearning.adobe.com/2010/09/recovering-the-project/https://www.cpguru.com/recovering-corrupt-adobe-captivate-projects/ Nothing worked.Any idea how I can open the projects with C2019?thank you in advance

Hello everyone!In the current project I'm working on I experiences some strange behaviour of SVG objects. Most of the illustrations I'm working with, I create in Illustrator, save them as SVG and import them into Captivate. Once I place them in the slide, I resize the objects and put them at the right position. After saving, closing and reopening the project, everything seems to be normal at first. The slides look fine from the small thumbnail in the film strip, but once I click the slide, the SVG objects on the slide will change without me doing anything. I have really no idea what is happening and it causes a lot of extra work. Does anyone expierenced something similar before? 

Hi there!Very new to Captivate and learning as I go.I am creating a new responsive course, which includes software simulation.I am hoping to create a blank responsive project which has general information at the beginning and then I would like to include video which show software simulations (with captions). So as the user clicks through the tabs, it will show instructional software simulations when played, and has the option to show captions.This is where I am up to.Attempt 1: I made the responsive project with blank slides. I saved the software simulation as a video and embedded it into the responsive project, but when saved as a video mp4, the captions do not show on the responsive project.Attempt 2: Next, I made a blank responsive project and created a software simulation in a new project. I copied and pasted the software simulation slides into my blank responsive project, but obviously I can’t modify the software simulation content to fit within a elearning course.Is there any oth

I don't mean to rain on the parade of Captivate lovers, but after switching to Articulate, it's painfully obvious that Adobe didn't think their product through. Which saddens me, because I've always been a big supporter of Adobe.The biggest oversight that Adobe made with Captivate is that most trainers/educators who take the next step to e-learning software are coming from PowerPoint. By far, that's the software they're familiar with, and something they've been using for years. Articulate recognized this, and very cleverly designed their UI to not only emulate the PowerPoint interface, but to also work seamlessly with PowerPoint files that their customers already have.Software developers who don't consider their audience first before writing code are simply being arrogant and dismissive. Sorry, Adobe. 

There are several situations when audio plays simultaneously in Captivate. One is if you have audio connected to each state in a multi-state object. It behaves and stops one state's audio when you go to another state, but when you hit Replay, they all play at once. Is there a way to stop this? Is there a way to stop any audio when another object with audio is clicked on? I'd upload the file but I always get this error -- "The attachment's <FILENAME> content type (application/x-captivate) does not match its file extension and has been removed." Multiple people have asked why this -- including me in November -- and it goes unanswered.

Is it possible to place a shape on top of text in captuvate without unlocking the shape from the Fluid Box?

Team  I have imported a video as an event video into a fluid box. Now, i need to place a next button in the same fluid box. What is the procedure to do so? Regards

Hi All, Small question  I am running the following setupMacbook Pro 13 Inch Mid 2012 (Mac Os Catalina 10.15.6)And I am running a version of Capitivate for Mac 2017 with and Institutional Serial Number When I try to publish to MP4 the status bar goes to 100% and then hangs and an empty mp4 is created and then I have to force quit  I sent the cptx file to my line manager who is running on windows and the MP4 creates fine for him Any suggestions welcome have tried the clean preferences option 

I've heard and read that if you don't want to use templates, you can instead set a regular .cptx project to read-only so that users are forced to do a save as and make a copy, thus protecting the original file. How exactly do you do that?

I am using Captivate 2019, but when I go to record a screen capture, the only option I have is to select an application window. I don't have the radio button options to select a Screen Area at a custom size, so I have to shove the window I want to record into the tiny red box and am unable to fullscreen at all. Why am I missing the Screen Area recording option, and how do I get it to show up? 

Yesterday, while testing a module, I took a quiz in the module I posted to our LMS, and was able to complete it.  Today, while trying to take it again, the slides refuse to advance after I select an answer.  Given this wasn't an issue yesterday, could this be an LMS issue, or could there be a problem with the module itself? 

When I update the Web object embedded path on my computer to a new PDF file, Captivate continues to display the old version of that PDF file. Is the only solution deleting the Web object and reinserting a new Web object then link it to the the new PDF file?

Hello! I'm creating an educational tutorial for my work using Adobe Captivate 2017. Each slide has the appropriate captions/caption times, but my coworkers are having trouble viewing them. The captions seem to be displayed just fine when using Firefox and Internet Explore on a PC, and are also displayed when I try viewing the tutorial with Firefox and Google Chrome on my Mac. However, the captions aren't working when I open the tutorial in Google Chrome on a PC. I'm pretty new at using this software so any advice you guys could offer would be great!

I want to set up some Knowledge Checks throughout my course. Each one will only have a single question. For each of these one-question Knowledge Checks, if they answer the question correctly, I want them to go to a specfic slide, which I am going to set up as a "success" slide for that Knowledge Check. If they answer the question incorrectly, I want them to be taken to another slide, which will serve as a "failure" slide for the Knowledge Check.  What is the easiest way to set this up, so that a learner is taken to a specific slide if they get a question wrong (for example)? Is there a built-in variable for this, and if so, what would be the steps for setting this up to work on the question slide I'm using it on? Likewise, if there is such a built-in variable for "question answered wrong," then I assume if there is also a variable for ansering a question right. Because I want to use that one to send them to another slide that would serve as the success slide for that Knowledg

Will I be able to edit forms useing this program

My project is heavy on smart shapes and I am using a plethora of styles. Is there any way to organize the styles names when they display in the Style Name drop-down box on the Properties panel? It does not seem like there is but I thought I would ask.

Hello, Just learning Captive bfore my school year starts.I am mucking with a responsive vedio project. I want to insert 2 knowledge check question in succession. The idea being the first question gets answered and then the next question would appear. I have tried to do that, but the presentation ends after the second slide is answered  and does not continue back to the video as is the case with one Knowledge Check slide.
