I'm encountering an issue with my slide in the review link. While it functions perfectly in preview mode, the elements don't appear according to the intended timeline during the review. This inconsistency seems to occur sporadically, working smoothly on the first attempt but not on subsequent ones. This might be a bug. Would you be able to assist me in understanding why this is happening and how to ensure consistent presentation in the review link?
HiI am having an issue with the new Adobe Captivate as I can't resize the project slides. It seems like such an easy feature to resize them but I'm going round in circles. I started with the default size of 1366x768 pixels, however, when I opened it again today, the size has changed to 1920x1080. I can only assume this was after attempting to record a software simulation on a Full HD window. When I preview my project, the default size is back in play with the responsive design, but the problem is, my working window is still displaying 1920x1080 and nothing aligns properly, so I can't line up the components correctly. Does anyone have an idea for fixing this? It seems such an obvious thing but I'd really appreaciate any advice. TIA
Hola! Gracias.
After updating to Captivate 12.3 I started a new project a few slides. Something seems to be different in 12.3. All slides pause on exit with or without and interaction in place to do so. If there IS an on exit interaction in place to advance to the next slide or even to a specified slide - the slide still pauses. I have to manually click "NEXT" in the playbar to advance to the next slide. Is anyone else having a similar issue? I came across this post on Captivate 12.1.0.16 from August 2023 that is the same issue I'm describing. https://community.adobe.com/t5/captivate-discussions/captivate-12-project-won-t-auto-advance-to-next-slide/m-p/14396617#M305700
So I created several training modules. (Using Captivate 2023) All of them work well, except one. For some odd reason when I test it in the Adobe Learning Manager, the slides will move to the next slide, but then a second later move to the one after that. So the reader is seeing a second or two of the next slide in sequence and then it move to the next one. This happens periodically throughout the module, so I am not sure what is wrong or what setting I might have off. I tried putting in a bookmark to stop play, but that didn't solve the problem.
On five random slides in my training, the closed caption is changing to "Enter slide note" only when I publish or preview HTML5. I have tried adjusting the timing, deleting and recreating the caption, but nothing seems to work. The only similarity between the the five slides is that only the last caption on the slide is disappearing. Has anyone else run into this issue? I'm on Captivate 11.8.2.
Hello!I've never used Captivate before, and I have to use it for a work project per customer request. Captivate Classic allows you to import a "Web Object" and add custom JavaScript to a slide, which is great! But I can't find these options in the "All New" version. Do they even exist in the new version? If Web Object, JavaScript interactions and other features aren't yet developed for "All-New" is there a link to a roadmap, so we can see which features are planned?3. If there is no way to add a "Web Object" in the new version is there a way for us to add our own custom widgets? I have not seen any documention on this, so if the answer is "yes", please also point me in the direction of where I can find more information on developing a widget (we are a team software engineers, we are only using Captivate because of this contract)I have seen the option File > Import > Project Content and Closed Captions. I have only seen a video related to the Closed Captions, but I can't
I am working with Captivate 2019. I upload the published zips onto a LMS. When I try to upload the scorm I get the message: "package manifest contains invalid XML." If I open the zip file, it does have a imsmanifest.xml, so that's not the issue. I have quiz reporting enabled, so that's not the issue. I have done this plenty of times before with other files with no issue. I cannot figure out what's wrong with the manifest in this file. I've tried publishing solely HTML and HTML and SWF. Any help?
Hi there - there are a lot of great ways to display information in the New Captivate, however, there doesn't seem to be an option to add CCs when you use audio on state changes (such as click to reveals), or any widgets. Am I missing something or are we just locked into basic functionality if we need our courses to be accessable? On a side note, is there any way to divide up a page similiar to wordpress/HTML with Divs? It seems extremely limited for formatting. Thanks!
Hello All, I am using Adobe Captivate 2019. The UI elements are very small. I am not able to see those on my monitor. Also, after publishing, the UI elements are too small for users to see. Please help me fix this issue
I recently created a short guide for Captivate users that are brand new to JavaScript and more specifically - trying to use it within Captivate. I have shared this with the e-Learning Community but since I am not too sure how many folks from this forum visit that site, I thought I would share it here as well in the hopes that someone will find something useful they can use in their own projects. The original post can be found at the link below. Getting Started With JavaScript and Adobe Captivate
I need to delete a Slide note and I can't seem to get the delete button "-" to be enabled. I have click the check box several times on/off and that doesn't help either.
Hi, I created an assessment in Captivate (version 11.8.3.8). When I enable reporting and select SCORM 1.2, I can choose whether to display the assessment results in points or percentage (first screenshot). However, when I select SCORM 2004, 4th Edition, this option is not available. Does this mean the results for each person taking the assessment will only be shown as a percentage? I created a test assessment and published in SCORM 2004, 4th Edition, then checked in the SCORM sandbox and found that the output was only displayed as a percentage. (second screenshot). I want the scores to be displayed in our LMS reports instead of percentage,
Hi All, I have gotten wolf-howling-at-the-moon crazy with a Captivate Classic (11.5.5.553) project that has a lot of text and audio being toggled via Advanced Actions. I am trying to initially HIDE a Continue button and then have this appear if certain criteria are met. The way the Continue button is set to initially hide is to have the slide Advanced Action set to HIDE this button based on an IF criterion. I am actually using this slide AA, that is needed for navigation later, to serve a dual purpose. Issue I have is when I have this HIDE button action set, along with several other HIDES, the slide breaks and automatically goes to the next slide when the Continue button is clicked, in violation of AA rules set for that button. If I take this HIDE Button away from the slide AA, then the slide behaves as expected, but it appears on screen at an undesired time. Have I maxed out the system? Thank you for any thoughts.
Hello,i'm in the course of testing the program for use in our company, and i'm struggling over this error message in Captivate.I'm asking the question here in the hope that someone has an idea whether this error message is an problem of my workstation, or a problem of Adobe Captiva 5:This message occurs while publishing the swf file, after compressing and inserting swf file tags, while saving swf file (according the messages in the publish progress bar window). The Project conditions are20 slidesEvery slide contains around 5s of captured full motion video and audio10 Text captions, some zooming, and 3 text animationsI'm usingAdobe Captivate 5 (Trial)Windows XP SP3 (Dell Latitude E6410, Core i5, 4 GB RAM)Tried to change some settings, close programs, reboot. Always the same message. This is not an real old or weak system. As i'm using other programs successful here with huge pictures and videos, and as for sure i won't get an computer upgrade from the company only for that, this post is t
I'm really loving the new share for review function, however, I've come across an issue and potential bug where slide videos are not playing during share for review, but presenting the way it's supposed to when published into our LMS. This is troublesome when I have a bookmark to fade the continue button in at the end of the slide (end of video) and learners can't continue to review the rest of the education. Is this a bug Adobe is aware of?
Hi, I am using Captivate Classic 11.8.3. In this version, I cannot find the 'Continue playing the project' option for the hotspot in the VR project.Earlier, I was able to find it in version 11.5.5.Could anyone help, please Thanks
At the end of a quiz, when you click the Submit button, nothing happens. When it is clicked a second time, it goes to the next slide. Can anyone suggest a fix for this? What can I check to see if I configured my interactions properly?
How does an eLearning developer who uses Adobe Captivate go about making sure the courses they create can be translated for a global audience? Thank you!
When I preview my slides, the first lesson is moving to the end. There are no interactions on these slides to cause them to be skipped. It also seems this new version of Captivate does not allow slides to be hidden (except the quiz results slide), so that's not the issue. Is it because I'm using the free 30 day trial and Adobe is trying to force me to purchase?
I am a Director user with a few housekeeping scripts that I sometimes use. Somehow the program thinks I installed more than 2 copies and does not allow me to use it anymore. I think my system crashed and there is no place to uninstall it and the other copy was on a company PC I don't have access to it anymore. I called Adobe and was told the authentication server was not available anymore (me: really?). My only option is to buy another Adobe product that can do the same thing. There is no Adobe product I can use. I wonder if someone has the Serial key of the dead product Director 12 that you're willing to share or sell me at a low price. Thanks,
Hi I am using Adobe Captivate Classic 11.8.2.254 version on Windows 10 OS. My resolution is set to 1920 x 1080 and size of text, apps, etc. is 100%. But Captivate UI elements are extremely small. Is there a way to increase their size? Please advise. Sreekanth
Hi there, Issue: I download the latest version of Abobe Captivate from Adobe.com. After the installation completed without error, and upon launch, a window pops up "Start your 30 day free trial of Captivate." AND "Start your free trial or buy Captivate at Adobe.com using your Adobe ID: MyAdobeID. With options to either "Quit Captivate", "Buy at Adobe.com" or "Start free trial". Clicking on "Start free trial" closed the popup and the same window re-opens moments later. I uninstalled, rebooted and re-installed in Admin mode. Same results. Interestingly enough, if I slide the window out of the way, for example - to the edge of my screen, I can use the app while that window remains open. When multiple pieces of content are timed with the narration, and have entrance animations applied, often only the first will appear as intended and any others are significantly delayed. Frustratingly, the timing proceeds normally when playing the slide in Captivate, but is delayed in Preview and Publish. It seems to be an animation problem as the timing is more consistent when those are removed. Overall, it makes for less "polished" learning, but is satisfactory. This is an important issue if the goal is to make engaging learning, and in my opinion it needs attention ASAP. Our team has tried to address this through trial-and-error by making INCORRECT timing in Captivate so that the Preview and Publish are timed reasonably well. Has anyone else experienced this and possibly found a solution that they can share?
I am using Adobe Captivate 12.2.0.19. I was working on an Adobe Captivate project and was able to publish it. I was able to view it and then made some edits to the slides, but now i publish the project and cannot view the contents via the index.html. When i launch the index.html, all i see is a blank web browser screen with the URL showing it is opening the local index.html file. Any ideas? I'd hate to lose the work i did. Thanks in advance.
