Captivate

A the title says. Is this not possible in all new..?I customer sendt me a course made in all new...(thank you for nothing adobe!!)Now, this simple task as export it to video seems to be impossible. All I can find is to export as HTML or DOC?

I get only blank slides (mostly) when recording Demo video. There are only mouse paths, captions,... but no screenshots of the application I am working on.(Only on every about 10th slide I got some picture of application I worked with) My PC configuration: i7-5930K, 80 GB RAM, AMD Radeon R9 200 (VRAM 2 GB), Windows 10.Adobe Captivate is the newest version, just downloaded and installed few days before.Working about 10 years with Captivate. Constant frustration with some/many malfunctions. It took a few hours to install, constantly I got the package that was installed only by message but not really.When I installed the packet for all and not for me, it finally works or better said starts but is not fully workable.I need Captivate 99% for Demo projects (for now) and that option doesn't work.I am angry, frustrated, helpless.I cannot believe that this product comes from the same firm(Adobe) that has something perfect as CC (PS,AI,IN,LR,...) that I pay and use many, many year

Hi, I have created a number of captivate training modules which all work fine in Preview HTML.  I Publish to Computer, upload to SCORM send them out for pilot and they all work fine.  But, to get them uploaded onto our LMS my L&D team ask for me to upload the Zip folder to a shared area so they can 'extract all' and open the 'index_scorm.html' file for them to view it before they upload it.  This has been fine for the first few modules I sent over to them but the latest one plays the voice overs but not all of the graphics, writing etc. After you click ok to the error about not being connected to the API etc, it goes into a 'Loading' Square circle thing and then loads corrupted.  None of the others do this and they all have the same publishing specs.  I am currently going through it slide by slide hiding slides and republishing to see if there is an error on one of the slides that is causing this.  Has anyone had this issue before?  Cheers Mi

How do I prevent the default blurring of an underlying video whenever an overlay slide is introduced? Also, the opacity setting for the overlay slide background doesn't seem to work. I'd like to set opacity to 0% and entirely remove the overlay background. And also set the clickable buttons/shapes to 0% opacity so that the user just interacts directly with unblurred video content. Thanks.Richard

All New Adobe Captivate. In a branching slide with 3 buttons. Is it possible to mute the slide audio on revisit? and after all the branching buttons are clicked is it possible to play a audio 'End of course' inserted in to a smartshape as well as show the object in which the End of course audio is inserted. Thank you,

Does anyone have a fix or workaround to be able to use interactive buttons (next slide button) after adding a video block/grid to a course? I know it works with slide videos but I need to add multiple videos to a course design. I've tried different options and workarounds and nothing works the moment I play any one of the videos in the grid. Any ideas from this creative community?

I have a strange issue, the captivate slide is not jumping automatically to the next slide. I haven't put any action, by default it should jump to the next slide. It jumps to a slide then repeats playing the the slide twice and then its just a blank screen. Its not playing the video uploaded in the next slide. Can anyone please help

Hi! I am using the new Adobe Captivate. I am new to Adobe Captivate, so I am still learning. I have a slide that includes a dropdown menu. I would like to hide the button upon entry on a slide until the user visits each drop-down item, and then it appears for them to move on to the next slide. Can someone help me with this? If you can add screenshots, that would be extremely helpful. If not, I am a quick study, and I believe I will be able to learn without the screenshots.  

I work with multiple people who need to be able to review the courses and make suggestions before publishing to our LMS.  Is there a plan to create a Publish for Review setting, so SME's can review courses before they are published and uploaded onto and LMS?  Is there an easy way to do this that I have missed?  Thank you in advance for any help you can give.  

I'm working on a project where i want the user to navigate from page 8 to page 6 when they press/click on previous button on the player. (Basically I want user to skip a page when previous button is pressed).  Can anyone help me achieve this?

A friend of mine tried to uppdate his 11.5 to 11.8.2 version.Downloading from this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/help/captivate-downloads.htmlIn the folder it says CPTV_11.5.5. He installed it and yes its the same version he is sitting on now. He also tried the inbuilt uppdate function in captivate and it says that he is on the latest version.How is this possible?

This is an odd question, I know. But is there a way for me to correct typos in old Captivate files I designed with, if I no longer have Adobe Captivate in my subscription? Before you go off on me, let me explain! LOL Perhaps there is a script file within the exported files where the typo is that I can update and save.  Or, does Captivate offer a new trial version I can use to do the corrections with?

Is it possible to have a "Matching" quiz slide with pictures? (pictures that matches a word).

Hi! We created a training activity (without a quiz) and loaded it to our LMS (Vector Solutions / Convergence). When we test on laptops, it works - including updating to complete when the completion requirement of viewing a specific number of slides is achieved. When we tested on iPads and iPhones, it works....except it doesn't update to complete. I have our vendor looking at it from their perspective, but I thought I would also check here to see if anyone has expreienced this...and if you have...how did you fix it? I've also been able to confirm that it does not track back to Complete on Android devices. Thanks for your help!

Hello community! Our learning team uses Classic Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and Articulate Rise. We publish to Absorb LMS using both SCORM 1.2 and 2004. In recent weeks, only the courses created in Captivate are displaying a "Lesson Incomplete" pop up message when a learner reaches the end of a course. When the learner looks at their dashboard, however, the course is indeed shown as complete. For most of these courses, there are no quiz questions, just "next" buttons that navigate the learner through the course (with interactions along the way, but nothing is scored). We set the Quiz Reporting to "Slide views and/or quiz" to 90% slide views. The error message pops up for courses published this week and for old courses published last year. That leads me to believe it's an Absorb problem, but the Articulate courses do not throw the error. Hey all...Cp novice here. I am working on my Portfolio, and when adding files of e-learning modules, I was able to add an HTML file of a module done on the previous version of Cp. I am not able to upload one done with Charm, and I am not sure if it is because the publishing options are so limited. What am I doing wrong? Why am I not able to do this? It seemed easier on the previous version, where there were drop menus and you could select the format. Help?

Hello all:I'm generating AICC packages from Captivate Classic for loading to the Oracle LMS.  My colleagues who use Lectora are able to have the course/package title contained in their AU files, however, when I examine the output from CC, the corresponding title CSV value is not included.It doesn't seem to matter whether I use a TOC or not, I can't get this information to show up.  (can share the files if needed)Is there some kind of metadata field I'm missing somewhere. or will I be stuck entering this value manually?Any and all assistance/guidance appreciated.

how to add text on top of image in 2023 captivate

Hi everyone! I'm relatively new to Captivate, but I think I'm finding my way around the app nicely. I'm currently working on a project that will include 360° and an output of HTML. This HTML file will be what my colleagues and customers open to access the project, as we cannot open EXE/SWF files for security reasons. I'll also note that anyone who wishes to access this (exported) project, will have access to the entire folder that Captivate will spit out, and not just the index.HTML file. My current issue is that Captivate either via 'preview in browser' or export>HTML5>Preview via Captivate's prompt, is working fine with no issues at all. However, using the exact same index.HTML file that Captivate exports, it seems that it is extremely slow to load into any of my slides, and the 360 slide just remains black. This is persistent through all our browsers - Edge, IE, and Chrome. Would anyone have any ideas as to what is happening and how I should look into resolving

Hi Community, is there an option to reverse the positions of the columns in a Matching Quiz-slide (column 1 on the right, column 2 on the left)? The lines seem to be fixed to the columns (master slide), so they go just "around the slide" after reversing the position of the columns. Thanks a lot for help/ideas!

I just ran into something I have not seen before - a colleague who is new to Captivate 2019 (Classic) is unable to work with a multi-state object because when she selects a shape (for example), the State View button is grayed out. (I don't have a screen shot, but the State View button definitely is not active.)   When I open the same project file, the State View button is available for that shape and every other shape I select, so it does not appear to be an issue with her project. Has anyone experienced this, and if so, do you know if reinstalling Captivate would fix this for her?

I am using Captivate 12. I tried to update the background color in my theme (I already have a project started) and when I went to save changes, the app hung and I had to force quit out of Captivate 12. This happened three times and I was never able to make global changes to the template. Has anyone had this experience, and is there a solution? Thanks, Natalie
