Captivate

I'm using 2019 11.5.5.553. Captivate always plays audio through my computer speakers, despite having headphones connected. The headphones work correctly in all other applications, and if I publish/preview HTML in browser, the audio plays through the headphones. But playing slides in the timeline or audio from the library always plays through the computer speaker. Is there a setting that I'm missing? I see reports of this issue in other adobe softward, but not Captivate, so I figure it must be user error...?

Sorry if it has been already answered - but how can I "combine" both in one go?    I need to record how to use my application - which is controlling another application - so I need to be able to record what is happening in the background as well - in the app I'm controlling - in between the clicks in my app.    Is it possible or do I have to perform two separate recordings and then combine them?    Some kind of a trigger - keyboard shortcut - to switch between the two modes?    Record few "slides" then record a video then switch again to "slides mode".    Or the only option is to record whole screen and then manually add "commentary"?    TIA   

Hi I got a question from a customer who need to be able to zoom in on an still image by draging a zoom bar or clicking a button.. While it is zoomed he also need to be able to pan around the image.Is this possible to do in captivate without alot of javascript?

Greetings all you Captivate gurus out there!For reference, I am using Captivate 2019, latest version (as of 9/2020).My client's course (a software simulation based course) requires the student copy text from one field (of the software application) and then paste that informtion in a different field on a different tab of the application.  Here is what I did to allow this to occur: On the screen of the first application tab, I created a Text Entry box over the field to be copied. That Text Entry box has the information entered as Default Text so it is showing when the student enters that Captivate slide. The student then clicks in the Text Entry box, highlights the text and the peforms a copy shortcut (ctrl+c).  Then, a few slides later, there is another Text Entry box over the field where the text is to be pasted. The student clicks in the field (the Text Entry box) and then does a ctrl+v to paste.The above works just fine in Captivate Preview mode.  HOWEVER, I discovered

Hi,I might've missed this information somewhere but it seems that the only format the training can be published in from Captivate is html/SCORM. Am I missing a setting somewhere that would enable me to publish a video only?Or is the new Captivate essentially an extension of the responsive project from Classic, where this option simply doesn't exist? If so, is there any plan to change that in future?Thank you,Daniela

Hello,  My team wants to include a survey at the end of every CBT. So management created a job aid with instructions to launch the web survey (URL) as the sole action for the Exit button at the end.  My concern with this is that now the Exit button does not actually perform the action of exiting the course.  But what is that action exactly? What does the Exit button in a CBT do? Does it report the exam results? Does it officially "exit" the course so that when you launch it again, it does not ask you to "continue where you left off"?  I actually think that it does do some or all of these things, but am asking for clarification from the gurus on here.  And if it is necessary to perform the technical exit, would it be preferable to set up an advanced action instead that would do two things: 1) Launch the web-based survey and 2) Exit the course from a technical standpoint?  Thanks in advance! 

Hello,I'm having issues with new animation in Adobe Captivate. I'm attempting to animate text using the 'Typewriter' animation when certain audio is playing. It shows up in Captivate and works fine when I click 'Test'. But when I preview the project the text just appears at all once, at the right timestamp, just not with the 'Typewriter' animation. Has anyone dealt with this before, or does anyone know if this is an issue just with the preview feature? This is with the newest edition of Adobe Captivate.Thanks

Hello,I am using Adobe Captivate 11.8.0.586. I am incorporating SVGs into my Adobe Captivate project, and I have crafted a custom replay button using the JavaScript code: "cpCmndGotoSlide = cpInfoCurrentSlide - 1;", which appears throughout the rest of the project. However, when I click the replay button, it hides all the SVGs but not the JPEGs. Additionally, when I return to the slide after navigating to the previous slide, all the objects reappear.

While using Captivate 12.1 I have added a multiple choice slide midpoint. When I click 'next' on the slide previous to it, it does not lead me to the multiple choice slide, but instead gives me a grayed out screen with the small message "Something went wrong!" I have played with the previous slide and the multiple question slide. I have previewed it from the start and worked all the way through but it aways gives me the message. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do or is this a Captivate 12.1 issue? Who should I contact to get this looked at? Thanks! 

Hi guys, Im using a button at the end of a course to close the window or close the course, however, is not working on the platform I'm using, I already try by adding the interaction--Click--close the course, but nothing.now I just added the script  function cerrarCurso() {window.close();if (window.self !== window.top) {window.parent.close();}}document.getElementById('Botón_46').addEventListener('click', cerrarCurso); And still nothing, it does not close with the button, I have to close the window manually. I'm using the recent Captivate (vs12) Thanks!

Who  else hears a little click/crackle sound at the end of EVERY DAMN audio imported into Captivate? I do my own recording in Audition with a Rhode mic, dbx 286s processor and Scarlett 2i2 interface - so I'm not using cheap equipment. I get great audio, as I've been doing this for years with the same equipment. And everything I import into Captivate results in a clicky sound - not faint, but not loud either - at the end.You'd really think Adobe made software good enough to avoid this. And no, I can't remove it in Captivate.

I have had this happen repeatedly when recording. It sometimes happens over and over again. Sometimes only after I've recorded and deleted the recording to re-do. But my past research showed that Adobe denied knowing it ever happened. Here's what it looks like: Once I stop, delete, and restart recording it USUALLY works, but sometimes I have to go thru this process over and over again.

Good day, all;Just a quick question: I have added a playbar to a project and only want it visible on 1 or 2 slides. I have set the OnEnter action to Hide Playbar on all the slides I don't want the playbar on and everything is working great. The issue however, is that when the project starts, the playbar is visible on the first slide (the slide with the 'play to start' button. Below are images of my project start (with an image we add to start) and a more generic one, both with the playbar. Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the playbar from that starting slide?  Thanks!samamara

Has anyone figured out how to edit the captions that appear on quiz slides? I see that I can change the caption background color through the theme and the actual text for the caption through Preferences, but I can't change the font, size, or color. The caption font is Times New Roman which I do not have that font in my theme. This is posing major accessibility issues since I can't change the font color. I watched the Adobe video and they even had contrast issues on their captions.

This is my first captivate project and I was so excited to be wrapping up and all of a sudden I'm trapped at the finish line! The last slide of my project is showing up completely blank both when I preview the project and when I publish it to HTML5. It's not the final slide I worked on, it's not a complicated slide, just a thanks for taking the training with an exit button and some images of the scenario characters... Why is this one showing up blank? I'm not having the problem with the other 20 slides. 

I am using Captivate 2023. When users testing my LMS module get to the end, they can't press continue. How do I edit what that button does? The normal interactions are not available.  I am trying to create a "Yay you finished" slide or a certificate slide... is that possible?  The On Pass and On Fail actions can be selected, but I'm not sure what to select... I could have it go to the next slide and build the "yay you finished" slide. How does the user close out their training and ensure the score is recorded? Is the score automatically recorded once the user completes the quiz?   

Hello all:I am doing some testing of Captivate Classic outputs and my remote colleague received the attached error message when trying to load the .zip file: "Error - unable to acquire LMS API..."Our LMS is Oracle. Are there tweaks I might beed to make in certain files to get the .zip to play nicely?  ( can try to get specific version info as needed...it wasn't immeditely to hand as I'm not part of the LMS team and any uploads have to run through my colleague)  

When trying to change to a font from my computer system a error message apears saying unexpected error which may cause captivate to behave unexpectedly? 

Hey everyone, this is my first post here so please bear with me. I'm looking to create checkmarks for the slides the user visits (this can be seen in the image below). When the user vists a new page, the checkmark will turn orange, when they leave, it turns green. I already have this working by executing an advanced action script on enter. The problem is that i have a different advanced action script for each slide, and tying this functionality into every single one quickly becomes messy, especially when you have different amount of slides for each lesson. Is there a more global way of doing this other then tie it to every individual slide? Maybe through a javascript or something? Best regardssvardz

I wanna add music at the bakcground of my course, but I only find the "music per slide" , I don't find the option like the Captivate Classic, It is possible?

I'm a total newbie to instructional design and working on my first LMS module. I was on a call with a company that I'm working with, and they set up a call to "review how the captivate package will emit tokens and variable substitution for different languages (13 languages)." I have absolutely no idea what they mean by the captivate package emitting tokens... Any thoughts on this one?  Also, does anyone have any idea on variable substitution for different languages??  Online resources or even a starting point would be great. Thank you!

When I attempt to import an audio file to the background,the file loads, the window opens to review and edit the recording,the issue is that there is no Save or Cancel command button as indicated in the YELLOW box at the bottom right of the screenshot.I have to use Task Manager to close the window and re-boot the app.NOTE: I have been able to perform this function successfully for many months, on many projects, for some random reason, it is not working now.This is true for all project types: Blank, Video, Software Simulation.I cannot figure out why the imported file displays in the window as Narration: (name of file) As shown in the RED CIRCLE below:I appreciate any and all assistance. This is a really tough issue given my project deadlines 😞

I cant publish or preview in html5 in browser... It worked well and then it stopped doing so. It just puts the loading icon forever. I have to turn in 4 modules this week for a client an none work, help please!

Hi everyone,I'm having a strange problem with Captivate.It's asking me to buy the software, but I already got it? It appears fine in my plan overview in Adobe CC. Otherwise, Creative Suit works just fine. I have tried on several computers and unlinked them. Has anyone else experienced the same?RegardsJacob
