Captivate

Gentlefolk,This could be an issue of being too clever by half, but...I have a Captivate project that has a certificate with user name and date inserted by advanced actions. That part works fine.I included a PRINT button at the bottom that when clicked executes:window.print(); The certificate displays at the far-right margin, making printout not correct. For if the the prinout is enlarged so it roughly covers a landscape letter, the certificate image then goes to a second page. I have, in Captivate, moved the image to the far left of the stage, and this helps, but then it makes the Captivate presentation look flaky. What I want is for the print command to center the image, not have it peg to the right side. Does this make any sense? Suggestions for a solution?  Thank you!

Hi All, Hope all is well. I just recently updated my captivate version to 11.8.1.219, so I'm not sure if I'm missing something in the publish setting. There was an issue in the resolution not appearing in full when I uploaded it on a LMS, please see attached image. I've asked my colleague which has 11.5.5.553 to use the same file and publish it on her end. its seems fine and gives the full resolution, please see attached image. another thing I noticed is that, my published zip file has 4.5mb while she got 3.6mb after publishing it. We tried to check but we got the same settings so far. I might missed something. Hoping someone can help me. Thank you so much!

I upgraded to Captivate 11.8.1.219, but now I can't find audio hardware

Is there a way to publish a project as scalable HTML but with a maximum size of lets say 960 width?

HiI am using micronavigation using the cpInfoCurrentFrame to show certain objects on certain frames.When I preview the course and quick use the playbar to drag to the frame where the object should pop up. Its excactly where I want it to be as regarding to the video..When I watch the whole course from start to end the object pops up at the same frame. But the slide video are about 3 seconds ahead of the frame than when I scrolled to it. Why is that And what can I do about it?

I am using a Macbook Air with an M1 chip and the Ventura OS to use Captviate. I'm running the most recent version of Captivate (11.8.1) and I have Rosetta 2 installed. The software crashes constantly (about 4x an hour) and I'm losing work. It crashes when trying to save, when accessing assets, and when trying to exit the program, among other scenarios. Any ideas on what might be the problem? 

Hi I would like to fetch the text data from an object on any slide e.g cp.model.data.Slide5832.si[6].I see can see some of the relevant objects properties like position etc, however the actual text data of the layer is only avaliable in CPM.js as a html string.Does anyone know what function could be used to extract the html string from CPM.js by using the object reference in cp.model.data? Would be a massive help to my project if anyone knows how to do this!Thanks Jorgen

Hi,CP 9.0.2.437.I have a course with 4 smart shapes on every page used as buttons. Next, Back, Play/Pause and Open close TOC. It really total of 6 buttons, but the the two toggling buttons are placed on top of each other and using advanced actions they hide the undesired one for the obvious reason. The toggle buttons are placed on slide 2 and set to appear for the rest of the project "on top". The Next and Back buttons are placed on every slide individually due to some have pause buttons and others do not. Each button has 3 states - up, over and down.The issue:Each button does not react to a state change and is inactive for the top half of the button. Placing the mouse on the upper half does not display the hover state, and the button is not clickable. Only moving the mouse to the lower half works.Any solutions or ideas?

When I select File>Print and attempt to publish to Microsoft Word (to create handouts), the process begins and then fails, accompanied by an alert that reads:"Publish to MS Word failed. Retry after ensuring that- The document is not open.- You have installed Microsoft Word."I have ensured that both of those bullet items are true, and I continue to experience the same issue, repeatedly. I have MS Office 2011 installed on my MacBook Pro.I was about to post this question, when I had another idea, which turned out to be a workaround for the issue. I'm posting my question along with this simple solution anyway, in case anyone else is experiencing the same problem:If I launch MS Word before attempting to print the project in Captivate, then I'm able to successfully print/publish to MS Word from within Captivate. It appears that Captivate is unable to independently open Word, at least on my system.If anyone knows how to get Captivate to print to MS Word without having to first open the Wor

Complete newbie to Captivate. I'm building a training on ergonomics. I am trying to create two things:- a knowledge check assessment for the course content- a (ergonomic self-risk assessment) survey that asks the user a few questions and, depending on their answers, emails an admin who will then follow up with the learnerIs this possible to have these two different features? Any insight you have into how I can do this OR what words to Google to figure out how to do it would be great. Thanks!

I've uninstalled Captivate, but in my 'Apps & Features' settings I have an entry labeled 'Uninstall Adobe Captivate Assets'. However, clicking this gets the message - "Specified product is not installed on this machine. Please quit the installer and start over." How can I remove this entry?

Using Captivate to create a project for school. I just downloaded the free trial and did the project. I am trying to publish it but having some issues. I have buttons in the project, so you stop at points and have to click the button to move on. I have done this because there are videos within the project that I want to make sure people can watch and rewatch before moving on. However, when I publish it to video, the buttons do not work. It just runs as a none interactive video. When I do it as an executable, the file says I don't have admin rights to run the video. So basically, I need to know how to publish this project so my buttons work and it's a file I can give to my professor.Thanks.

Hello, Good Morning,  1) In a captivate project of 10 slides, there is a scenario where there are two videos on two different slides rest are all audio slides.  2) Is there a trigger which can mute the slide audio and the audio of a video by clicking the sound on/off button? 3) If the audio is muted for one slide then all the other slide audios and the video audio will be turned off, if it is unmuted then all the slide audios including the audio of the video should also be turned on.  Thank you. 

Hello,I have a SCORM file that is 24.86 MB in size. I have almost eight videos, as well as a quiz that contains eight pools in it.The SCORM when it starts playing takes almost 60 seconds to load. I am concerned about this because my LMS developer tells me that the quiz and other captivate elements load first, while the data we design loads later. My clients say the time it takes to set up SCORM is unbearable. Please let me know if there is a solution that plays SCORM smoothly.

Hi!  I need the same video to play on separate slides. I have imported the video as a Slide Video from my computer on Slide 2. The video works correctly on that slide. On Slide 10, I need to play that video again. I'm trying to drag it onto slide 10 from my Library. When I do, I get the insert Video dialogue again with the same options chosen as when I inserted it on Slide 2. So I don't change anything and click OK, and get an error message "Video encountered an internal error". If anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong or a better way to place the same slide video on two or more slides (without importing multiple copies of the video into the project and making the project huge), I'd be so grateful!  I'm using Captivate 2019, 11.5.5.553 on Windows 10.

I have used question pool for randamization, Everything is working fine the problem is Once user clicked the Review Quiz button i can see the correct and incorrect answers. after viewed the module and relaunching the Quiz is in Review mode, How do we reset this when relaunch, Kindly advice and help us. Thanks.

Hello:After beating my head aginst the wall with another tool, I decided I'd try Captivate for a software simulation.  I'm hoping to make a business case to purchase a license.While testing an app recording (I chose Zoom) on my MacBook (currently updating the app to 11.8.1), I was surprised to only see my desktop background overlaid by the various interaction objects once I finished the recording.  I am not running an external monitor, and I had Demo and Training selected as my recording options.Has anyone else encountered this little hiccup?

OR to have the TOC expanding and collapsing by usage of a self made buttons?

I am building a quiz slide using click boxes to allow for credit for each correct clickbox chosen. On the slide, there is a chance the person can click more than one area for the same observation. I can't use one click box to cover the entire area, I need to use multiple click boxes. Each click box is worth one point. I want them to get the credit for all the clickboxes for that area, when they click just one of them. Is this possible?

HiThe buttons I have created link perfectly and jump to slides on Friday but by today, none of the them are working.  This keeps happening and I have no idea why.I created my own shape and clicked 'use as button'.  It should then jump to a slide.That is all it needs to do.Also, Adobe is not saving correctly, Save As does not work and the 'save' button actually do anything so each time I need to save any changes I am Save As with the date and current time.I expect it is all related.My IT department have checked for Adobe Updates within the system options but there aren't any.Please help, I am loosing my mind and the eLearning needs to be finished.ThanksKat

Hi,I'm very new to Captivate. I am trying to import PPTX slides that I made into AC. The first 3 slides look fine after import, but the last 4 get corrupted. They have huge circles covering the slide and I don't know how to fix this issue.  I tried copying and then reworking the slides that import fine, but as soon as I change the content, the slide gets corrupted in the same way.  I tried changing the style of bullet points to see if that does anything, but that also did not helo.
