I have a client that wants to have a custom TOC button. It was easy enough to create a single action that would open and close the menu that could be added to every slide. However, I'd like to make it more obvious to users that clicking the button again will close the TOC by having a selected state. Because (as far as I can tell) I have to build a custom selected state for each button and each TOC button has a different name on each slide, does that mean I have to create a new action for every slide?

I have created courses in Adobe Captivate and find that there is no way to share the course for review by my subject matter experts.  Is there an "easy" way to share the courses for review and comments?  This is a real downside to using Captivate.

Sorry for the lengthy post! I have six projects where the requestor has 60-90 minute videos where they wanted Closed Captioning inserted  (and did not want to use YouTube) and wanted overlay Knowledge Check questions interspersed throughout the videos. I was able to accomplish all of this (by inserting the videos as Slide Videos and distributing them across the slides.)  However, we are having an issue in the LMS (Cornerstone) with people resuming where they left off.  What is happening is they stop and/or exit the module and the LMS. When they log back into the LMS and resume, they are often (but not always) presented with a screen shot of the first video image for the first slide. The issue appears to be a delayed loading issue because if you wait 1-2 minutes, it will bring you back to where you left off.  In addition, I added a screen count at the bottom of the screen so it will for example say Screen 23 of 45 but will display the image for the first slide/screen

I am tasked to develop informational projects using Captivate. These projects will be posted on SharePoint Online, which does not allow us to use html5, but will allow videos. When I publish as a video, though, I notice that interactions are not working. Am I doing something wrong or is that how it actually works when published as a video? I am new to Captivate. Hello, When uploading a course's SCROM file to my LMS, I get a "Request Error" notification. I've uploaded many files to my LMS before with no issues. All export settings are the same for this file as the others without any problems. Here is a picture of the publish settings:

I used the Media/Video/YouTube option to insert the URL for a video, then exported as html5, SCORM 1.2On my LMS, YouTube CC does not show, although it is enabled and works fine on YouTube. Question 1: Is YouTube CC not available as part of SCORM? If not, is there a way to enable it? Question 2: In a past forum, someone mentioned embedding YouTube. This may solve the problem above, but I don't see a way to do it. Any tips on how to solve the CC problem?

Hi everyone,I'm running Adobe Captivate 11.8.1 on Windows.A few days ago, I was able to inster objects from the "Assets" tab but this morning it was empty.I tried to update Windows, re-install Captivate, clear some temporary folders and reset preferences but it is still empty ..I'm using a personal computer at home so I don't have any firewall issues.If you have an idea on how to fix it, it would be nice!Thank you in advance

Hi all! I'm still very new to this software so thank you in advance for your patience if this is a silly question and I'm missing something obvious! I'm attempting to create an accordion style menu on a slide. I've built the 5 buttons and have given them each down and visited states so that if any one button is selected, the information drop down appears. Where I'm running in to trouble is my desire to have the buttons be collapsible after being opened. Once something has been selected and is in its "Visited" state, I want users to be able to click on the original button to close the Visited state and return to the original slide so they can select another button.  Is this something that is actually possible? It feels like it should be! I'm attaching some images to demonstrate what I'm trying to do here, if more info is needed I'm happy to clarify!

I created some buttons using SVG icons but when I paste the buttons into the slide master the icons are gone. When I try to create the button in master slide view I'm  not seeing the option to change states anymore.I'm new to Captivate and still trying to orientate myself. Thanks for your help!

I have created a SCORM file using Adobe Captivate. However, when I play it in a browser or on an LMS, I encounter an issue. When I minimize the SCORM window, the audio continues playing, but the animations freeze. Once the audio for the slide finishes, and I maximize the window, the frozen graphics start working rapidly, but there is no audio. Then, it proceeds to the next slide, and everything works smoothly.

I've created a Drag and Drop slide with both "failure" and "Success" captions.  Under Drag and Drop on the Properties menu I've selected "Go to the next slide" for the "On succcess" action.  (I've set infinite attempts so if someone fails they get a "try again" failure caption and keep trying untill "success.")When the drags are correctly dropped, the slide advances - but the Success Caption never appears.  I'm pretty new to this, so any help is appreciated.

Using Captivate 2019 and I'm working on an E-learning module.  I have audio on the slide along with a video.  What I'm trying to do is not to start the audio on the video until the student clicks Play on the video.  The problem is that both audio on the slide and attached the video is playing at the same time  Is there a way to not play the video audio until the student clicks Play? Thanks, Carl

I have an event video in a slide with an audio recording from my library. My problem is that the audio is playing without the clicking the play button.  I don't want the audio to start u until the user clicks play on the video. I've also tried adding the audio to the slide as 2nd audio track and I have the "Pause Audio slide till the end of video" checked.  But the slide doesn't pause, it just continues to play.   Any ideas how I can solve either or both issues? Using Captivate on a mac Version 11.8 Thanks, Carl

Good Day Community!, We are using SuccessFactor LMS and publishing to it via SCORM by using either Adobe Captivate.In a sporadic manner, users might get courses to complete reminders eventhough they finished the courses. It seems, sometimes,  courses completion status is not sent or registered by SuccessFactors LMS. Please help me to understand if there is a facility/option in Captivate to send course completion status to LMS manually so that we can make it available at the last page of the courses. For example, a line and button could show up and read - "Please click this button to ensure the LMS captures your course completion". Thanks in advance for your input. 🙂 Regards, Paul  

Gentlefolk, Captivate 2019I have some users who are blocked from our LMS, but who still must take training and have that training recorded. Is there a process in which the user can enter name and organization user ID, and have those to fields written to an Excel sheet or some other document that we can then use to manually update the LMS that these users can't access? My requirements are pretty simple - all I need is a record of name and UID in some format that I can then use to update the learner's record in the LMS. Thank you for any thoughts! Don

I am having trouble importing translated XML files back into Captivate.  In fact I am unable to import an XML file that was just exported from Captivate.  I am using the Demo version: Captivate 4 Build 1596.I've exported XML files for all of my project files directly from Captivate.I've made the translations within the <source> and <g> tags of the XML file.I've selected "import XML" from the file menu and I get the error message:"Import was not fully correct.  For information about errors please check log file:"When I open the XMLImport.log as specified it reads "Caption item RTF was not read" anywhere from 6 to 20 times depending on the file.What is the problem?Is this a limitation of the trial version?Is there a formatting issue?  If so why can't I import the XML that was just exported from the software either with or without making changes to it?Before I ran into this problem with my final translated XML files, I had been somewhat successful with a te

I'm realatively new to Captivate but can't seem to find the answer to this question. I plan on uploading each training presentation to a separate LMS so I'm not really sure where to set the locations for "Publish At" and "Project Cache". Because the default locations didn't exist for Publish At I put it in a folder on my computer and it seemed to be happy with that. The project cache on the other hand is what I am stuggling with.Any input would be appreciated.

I have a Captivate file that will niether play audio, nor show the closed captions during preview in HTML 5, nor when published and shown in a different program. If allowed to run in preview, by the third slide, sometimes the audio and closed captions from the first slide begin to play, but not always. Slides with mp4 videos inserted will play audio normally, even on top of the audio from the previous slide. All audio plays normally in slide preview, but not in HTML 5 preview. I have searched everywhere for answers and have found nothing like this. I tried reinstalling Captivate because that has fixed weird things in the past but it made no difference here.

Wir haben ein E-Learning Modul bestehend aus mehreren Kapiteln erstellt. Beim Veröffentlichen stellte sich heraus, dass die zip-Datei mit über 800 MB zu groß zum Upload ins LMS ist. Daher haben wir für die einzelnen Kapitel separate cptx-Dateien erstellt, Videos und Fotos komprimiert, ein Kapitel auch mal ohne "Erweiterte Aktionen" veröffentlicht. Nun können wir die einzelnen Kapitel zwar ins LMS hochladen, aber die zip-Dateien erscheinen uns immernoch sehr groß und es entstehen Ladezeiten beim Aufruf im LMS. Was sind die json-Dateien in dem Ordner "dr"? Ein Kapitel hat in der cptx z. B. 26 MB, in der zip 86 MB; ein anderes in der cptx 75 MB und in der zip 99 MB. Woher kommt die hohe Differenz cptx zu zip?Was können wir noch machen, um unsere Dateien kleiner zu bekommen?Vielen Dank im Voraus für die Hilfe. 

Recently - that is in the last month - I have been seeing Captivate skipping slides that should have been recorded when I am creating a new project, or adding new slides to an existing one. I find myself randomly clicking anywhere in the screen hoping that I will force Captivate to capture a slide for what I see on screen that I need to have in my final project. One especial issue - I was clicking and dragging down thru an Excel file to select a number of cells and no matter what - Captivate didn't capture it at all. It merely captured all the cells selected, but no action video. And I had one the exact same recording just a few months ago and it worked fine.

Since a recent update to Captivate, I cannot edit audio from a slide. When I open the audio track in the pop-up editor, the buttons for Save and Close are missing. I am adding an image below:As you can see, the right edge extends far out to the right. No Save nor close buttons. And without them, I cannot even close Captivate as this editor is modal and prevents any interaction with Captivate until it's closed. I have to reboot my laptop to close Captivate - and if I have not recently saved Captivate, I lose all changes. I cannot imagine why this hasn't already been addressed.

Hello Community,  I got two software simulation slides that I would like to do the following with: Slide 1: When I click on a button that says Copy, I want a specific string of text to be copied to the OS clipboard of the learner (Windows OS).  Slide 2: When I press Ctrl+V, I want the text that was copied from slide 1 to be pasted.  My question is around slide 1. How do I create a button that will copy predefined text into the system clipboard such that I can paste that text into the text entry box on Slide 2? I assume it make be some kind of advanced action, but don't know where to start or if what I am looking to do is evening possible. Thanks in advance for any insights!
