Captivate

I realize that I can use my scrolling wheel on my trackball (or mouse - I just happen to bond with Logitech trackballs), but are there any workarounds to have the TOC scroll automatically as the user progresses through my course?  It's counter-intuitive for the slides to advance, but the TOC just sits there.  First time users may not be aware that they have to manually move the scrollbar to get it back in "sync" with the slide they are viewing.  It just seems like an oversight.  Is there a way around this - a setting I'm missing or a variable that can be used to advance the TOC as a slide advances?If not, I'll have to add that tidbit of knowledge to my custom "How to use this course" slide, which I add to all my courses (usually the 2nd or 3rd slide right after the introductory slide(s).Thanks!!

I created a responsive project with a mobile portrait breakpoint width of 428px. When I view the project on my iPhone 11 in portrait mode it breaks at the tablet portrait size, not the mobile portrait size. After doing some research, I understand now that this happens because of the browser resolution on my phone. If I change the Safari settings to 300%, the project displays as I expected. Of course, I can't expect other users to change their preferences to view the project. What is a better way to handle this?

I would like to create a set of sample pages (like Asset pages) that I can add to multiple projects. How can I do this while saving them locally so that I have the proper corporate logos, pallete, fonts, etc.?I like being able to add a page at a time to my slides, and have all the scripts merged in correctly. 

Hello all; I'm having an issue stopping triggered audio. I've searched here but I'm not sure I understand any of the answers and I'm hoping I'm just missing something silly. I have a slide with four flip cards on it, with audio attached to the 'card back' state. The slide has intro audio, and each card is set to stop slide audio on click. That works just fine (as does the flip action of the cards). I have tried adding Stop Triggered Audio to each of the advanced actions written for the flip cards, but I can't get it to work. I've put it in different parts of the sequence thinking it needs to happen before other things, but nothing helped. I've separated it as its own decision within the advanced action, but that didn't help either. At the moment as a last resort I have a "listen to each card fully before you click another card" message in the slide audio but if they don't hear it all and start clicking away, it's aural mayhem!Could someone have a quick peek here and

Hello.  I have received a lot of help on this forum and just wanted to say I appreciate everyone who has chimed in, whether to me or anyone else facing struggles with Captivate.  So thanks in advance! My current situation involves placing more than one button (two, actually) on a slide, and restricting forward movement to the next slide until both buttons have been clicked on and viewed (in a new browser tab).  The slide will have audio.  While not ideal, if necessary, I can delay the placement of the buttons until the audio is complete.I'd prefer the user to:1. open the first link by pressing the button with the action to "Open the URL or File", which should load a pdf into a new browser window:2. view the pdf in a browser window:3. then close the browser tab that it opened,4. and then the user clicks the second button to open the second link, just as above,5. and then close it's browser tab -- which will then present/enable the "Play" icon in the playbar, to

Hello everyone, does anyone know if there is a way in Adobe Captivate to reveal an image and text with a soft blend in by clicking on a button?Both, image and text have two states. Invisible in the normal state and visible on the second state.  By using an advanced script the image blends in softly since I used the alpha to make it in/visible. Unfortunately, it does not work with the text. Either there is no effect animation and the text just appears or if I combine changing the state to state 2 and add then the effect (even if I do it the other way round) the text appears for split seconds and then the effect plays.  I would very appreciate any input! Thanks in advance. 

I have been creating a project using Captivate 2019, 11.8.0.710 (Mac M1) and I am in the process of creating quizzes etc. I downloaded the Adobe Captivate "create-quizzes" to use as a reference. The create-quizzes project has a creation date of 2018 so I assume as it is an Adobe file that it was created using Captivate 2017.When previewing or publishing the "create-quizzes" project the menu options are different from the a 2019 project.Why the difference when both projects are opened using Captivate 2019 (Mac). The screenshots below show the differences. Can anyone explain why? 2019:    

I recently had to re-install Captive 2019 and now when I open the closed captioning setting it locks up and won't allow me to do anything.  I have to go to my task manager to close the program.  I have tried this 5+ times and had no success.  I used closed captioning previously without an issue.  Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Currently I am running Captivate 2019 on a MacBook Pro M1. I am planning to buy the new Mac Mini M2 for my office but I have heard that Captivate 2019 will not run on the M2 chip. Can anyone confirm this and if so, what is Adobe's forecast to upgrade Captivate for the M2 chip Thank youBobG

I am using the trial version of Adobe Captivate 2019. I used the text-to-speech feature to narrate the process flow displayed in a video. However, the audio's timeline keeps going back to default whenever I update the slide note. Is this because I am using the trial version? Can someone help me with this?

I am trying to imitate layer function of storyline by using groups. So I want to display a modal, when the click on the button. To close the modal, I also use X button(shape). I want to close the modal + change the state of button that is clicked for opening this modal.  But as you can see it is grayed out. 

I am having trouble with text in a multistate object changing the alignment or even its size when it is in preview mode and when published (to HTML5 and Scorm 1.2). It is a responsive project and all fluid boxes look ok when I adjust layout preview in Captivate, and all style settings are how I want them, but when I preview and/or publish, some of them decide to go wonky and change alignment (eg bullet points not aligning) or change text size (sometimes multiple text sizes in the one section).Screenshots are attached so you can see what I mean. What can I do to fix this?I'm using Captivate 11.8.1.219Thank you

Hi,  I just updated to Captivate 11.8.1.219. The first thing I tried is to create a smart shape and it seems most of the style options are gone from the Properties panel. I now have a Basic panel with smart shape replacement, opacity and line style but am not able to edit the line or fill colour. The Shadow and Reflection panel is still present but I really need to be able to change the colours of the smart shapes. Are these options now somewhere else?  Thanks.

HiI have a course with a slide video.I also have some interactive buttons that popup, pause the video, and when the user interact with the button the video continues.Now when building this course as responsive I have run into some problem.I need the buttons and everything else I put on top of the video to keep the position when rescaling everything.  Now when the user flips their phone. the buttons are no longer visible.Any solution to this?  Can I work with master templates for this?

Captivate used to pop up a page that showed what external files a course was pointing to using the "Open URL or file" action, and would also tell you what slide the link appeared on. This appeared when a course was finished with the publish command. No more.  I really relied on that feature for keeping my assets straight, as I'd screen grab it and paste it someplace hidden from the user.PLEASE PUT THAT BACK IN.  Anyone know a workaround?  Thanks.

How would I create an unlock additional quiz option in Adobe Captivate 2019?

I have a project that requires closed captioning in 26 different languages. So I created several shape and gave it 26 states. Shape 1 should start at time 0, state 2 at tim 3 seconds and shape 3 at time 6 seconds. On enter to the slide, I have an advanced action that changes the state to say German.  When the slide runs, ALL objets show up at time zero. What the heck? I created a brand new project just to test this. I've attached it below. Slide 1 is blank. Slide 2 has the 3 shapes.  Please help. I'm super confused why this is happening and have no idea how to fix it. Hi, I posted this as a bug as it is ambiguous.  Grey or white for on off.  Is white not grey, for the active document but grey not white for the active pubish setting.  See my screen capture where i have two documents open, and the active one is white not grey but below that in the publish settings, the grey choice is active and not the white.  A solution would be to change the publish setting to on and off with a slider with green like on an iphone. That would then be really clear and unambiguous, or if adobe doesn't like that idea, then try a yes no checkbox arrangment with a tick or something.

Hi Everyone, I'm creating a project in Captivate 2019 and using the drag and drop function.In the object actions I have assigned an advanced action to the accepted drag source. This advneced action includes an applied effect (in my case a rotate to effect).When I preview the course the rest of the action seems to work when the drag and drop action is carried out but the applied effect does not.This is my advanced action:And this is how I am applying these actions:  My version of Captive is 11.8.0. Is this something that just can't be done using the combination of advanced actions and drag and drop? Any advice is hugely appreciated.

Good morning, all;  I am having an issue that I thought/hoped would be fixed with a simple advanced action, but it seems that is not the case, so I was hoping someone here may have a quick, not-too-complex solution.  I have made a slide with three simple flipcards:  Each card their own advanced action and they all work perfectly:   However, as I needed a way for learners to move on after they flipped the cards, I added a Continue button, which you can see in the first screen shot. This way, they can control when to move forward in case they want to reread the cards. However, I want them to turn all the cards to read them before they move forward, so I don't want the continue button to appear until after they have done so. As a possible solution, I created variables for each of the flipped cards and added them to each of the cards' advanced actions to be incremented by 1 when they get a click, which you can see in the second screen shot.

We are using Captivate 19 We desire to have a single/one text box/shape (which contains an scenario) that can be expanded over the top of an image and then collapsed so the learner can continue to click on appropriate hot spot(s).  I'm figuring if it can be done, it would be using Advanced Actions... Just not sure what it would be.  Thanks in advance. 

Hi. I'm stumped, days of daily scripting are long gone, but here's what I want to do: I have several courses that contain the same 4 slides in each course, albeit at different starting slide numbers. In my courses, I have a series of 4 slides.  If the user has seen these slides in a different course, I want them to be able to click a button on the first slide of the 4 to bypass that slide, plus further bypass the next set of 3 slides and go straight to the fifth slide in the series.  (I'd prefer to use a shared script as I need to do this for actually 2 sets of slides)Since these slides are in multiple courses, there is no telling what the actual slide numbers affected will be - they will be independent per course so I can't just hard code a "jump to slide X".  So, to summarize:Click a button on slide x (let's say slide 11).  That action will then leap frog over the current slide (11) plus the next 3 more slides (12, 13, 14) and re-enter on slide 15.I can eithe

We have created several Adobe Captivate courses, some just a straight MP4 video, some that have user interactions and some that have quiz questions (e.g. - T/F and MC).  For each file that we upload to KnowBe4, none of them seem to be marked as complete.  In addition, one file generates an error at the end of the course that says, "406 Data Model Element Type Mismatch: could not parse number". There is one discussion thread in the Adobe Captivate forums that says the solution to this is to have KnowBe4 Support upload our SCORM files. This is not a long term solution.  We don't want to have to contact KnowBe4 Support every time we need a new file uploaded. Is there a solution to this issue from an Adobe Captivate standpoint? For the record, we are using Adobe Captivate 11.8.0.586.
