Captivate

Hi everyone, I'm working on an eLearning project. Everything was fine at the beginning until users complained that the last module of my course cannot be completed even though they have viewed every slide of the course. I ran the file on SCORM Cloud to ensure it's not an LMS problem. It turned out that the module was marked as incomplete. I don't understand the SCORM Debug Log, please help me figure out the issue. Captivate 2019 (11.5.5) I had three captivate project files that were developed around the same time last year.When I reopened them individually to make edits, I received the Update Missing Fonts window. For the first two projects I selected Replace Fonts, and no problem. The captivate project files opened, I edited them, no problem, published new scorms and they work fine.I'm not sure why the third of the series of three doesn't like the Update Missing Fonts window. No matter what I do from this window (Update, Close, select don't show me again, blah, blah, blah). It gets stuck on 50%. I need to use windows task manager to close captivate. I read in another post to use CleanPreferencesWin.bat, which executed it, but no change.Please help. I need to make one minor edit to change a text date in this file and cant do anything in it. 

Hello everyone,  I'm  having 1 course in 3 different languages and i bundled them with Multi-SCORM Packager.  I want the completion of the course to be 100% if the user complete 1 of the courses. Does anyone knows how I can do that ? Thanks 

Hello,I have query on the Drag and drop template. I am using drag and drop for the Knowledge check in the module.I want to show incomplete feedback to user when he click on the submit button(if he do not drag any obejct into the Drop Traget). I have Captivate 11.5.5 version.

We are using Adobe captivate to create HTML5 modules which we then host on our site. The desire is to get the player status from the videos. I.E. playing, paused, skipped, stopped. If I put the video directly in the page using the instructions here: https://developers.google.com/youtube/iframe_api_reference laser no problems, video runs and I get my player status. When I try to do the same with the captivate module I can't get my JS to run. I'm mostly sure it's because I can't figure the ID of the element on the page. I've only been able to track down two other people asking these questions and the answers to both seem to be outdated as I can not find the options they describe on the version of Captivate I am using.

I am recording a simulation in the manual type of recording (using the print screen button to manually capture a screen) to capture a non click event like a hover triggered dropdown on a website, but when I preview it, the mouse lags behind the manually captured display. Unlike automatic type recording where the mouse moves to the object and then displays, the dropdown captured displays first and then the mouse moves to where the hover triggers it. Any ideas as to why this is the case?

Hi folks! I've been lurking for years and really appreciate everything I've learned in these forums!  Well, I finally hit a problem that I could use a little help with.I'm working in the Captivate 2017 release (v 10.0.0.192) and we use Captivate Prime for our LMS.  This project will be published in HTML5.I have a slide with several smart shape buttons that report to Prime.  After selecting a button, the learner must select Submit to continue to the next slide.  I have advanced actions that allow only one button to appear selected at a time and Submit will only grant navigation to the next slide after at least one button has been pressed.    This all works fine.  The problem is that if a user is feeling wishy-washy or accidentally selects more than one button, EVERY button that was selected will get reported as a positive result to the LMS and there's no way to tell (from the data reported to prime) which was the intended selection at the time the

Hello Madam/Sir,There is a scenario in which there are 8 icon clicks. When the 1st icon is clicked it will jump to the 2nd slide and when the 2 slide is complete the next button should be enabled, after clicking the next button on the 2nd slide it should go back to the 1st slide where the 8 icons are present. So this interaction will work for all 8 icons. In this case, any 4 icons can be clicked out of 8 icons so that it activates the next button.How to write a trigger for such kinds of interactions. If any file is present with such kinds of triggers. Please share it would be really helpful. 

I am trying to find a way to set the module to close automatically if the module has no activity for 30 minutes--so I need a timer that counts time on slide on relevant page. The timing on the slide is 3 or 5 seconds but these are slides they must do something on.   If they walk away for 30 minutes, the LMS times them out but the module will still continue to display. If they return after the time out, everything seems fine but the reporting piece has stopped reporting. I want to set the modules to close at 30 minutes on any one slide. Is this possible?

Is there anyway for a search engine to find a course if that course were to be hosted on a website/server? My client wishes to use a simple course on their website and with some luck they hope that the course could be found online with people searching for relevent terms. If for example, the course contains information about safety equipment, would a search engine be able to list the course in its results if someone searched for the safety equipment. Thanks.

I recently upgraded to Win 11, but am unable to load my Captivate 2019 software. When I try, it gives me an error that says: Update requiredYour browser or operating system is no longer supported. You may need to install the latest updates to your operating system. I'm using Chrome Version 103.0.5060.114 on Windows 11. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks, Donna

I am Running Captivate 2019 on Mac iOS Monterey. I am in the middle of about 20+ files that need to have the text and cpations exported to Word files for an English to Spanish translation and I have hit a road block. Up until this point I have had no issues, however I am now running into this problem where I open my Captivate file, click to export the captions and closed captions and it runs the export with no issue. But when I go to open and view the Word file after there is nothing there! I am attaching screen shots of the flow from what I see on my end from the export showing all the exporting preview text but then when I open the Word file it is just a blank page. Any help and advice would be appreciated!

Hello,When I insert a slide video, there is always a shadow around it in the HTML output, even if I don't have it enabled.Also, the shadow doesn't disappear on the following slides even though the video was only shown on the previous slide.What can I do, to prevent/ delete the shadow?Thank you very much, Jörg

Hey everyone, I've seen it posted before for older versions but the issue still remains so I'm going to re-ask the question. Our team will create a Captivate file with a few slides that contain video clips. When published as HTML 5, these video slides work fine. When publishing as video the ends of the video clips within the slide will get cut off. The amount of time cut off seems to be random. I'm using Captivate 2019 (release #11.5.5.553). For context, here's what I'm doing and what I'm observing: 1. I create a video as an MP4 file (using a different screen capture tool, not Captivate).2. I upload that MP4 file to Vimeo (to serve as the video host/streaming service because our LMS server is not as efficient at streaming video).3. In Captivate, on a blank slide, I click on "Interactive Video," and I insert the Vimeo URL for the video.4. I do this for all of the slides in my Captivate project. (And to clarify, a single Captivate project for me may have anywhere from 10 to 27 slides, each one with an embedded Vimeo link. My Captivate projects consist *only* of a series of Vimeo-hosted videos. There's nothing else in our Captivate projects. We use Captivate only for SCORM publishing to work with our LMS.)5. I have created a project on captivate which has two buttons one for next and another for a glossary page with pictures relating to that slide. The setting of the back button on the gloss page is to return to which slide it relates to, when you click this button it takes you back to that page but you have to restart that whole page over again.  Is there a way in which you can start off from where you left the page before clicking the glossary button?  

Hello. Yesterday while trying to import a mp4 video into Captivate (I'm create a SCORM 2004), I received a message that I was not uploading a flash file and AME (which I have) would convert it to flv or f4v for me. This message happened within minutes of me creating another SCORM module with an mp4 video imported into it with no issues. Anyways, I accepted the conversion and left Captivate running all night to find this morning it still had not converted. Anyone else experience this and have any solutions?

I am really struggling using the 360 image.  I was able to use Google Street View app to create a 360 image and import it into Captivate 2019.  Unfortunately when I import it, it's all distorted.  What am I doing wrong? Are there specific dimemsions the 360 image needs to be?  Any help would be greatly appreciated as my deadline is fast approaching.

I just paid for Captivate 2019 Subscription service. I've had it before.  2017 is still on my MacbookPro. After downloading, installing, and clicking "Launch", I got this error - "an error occurred during activation". Does anyone know how to resolve?  I close the error message window, and Captivate acts as if it it will open, then shuts down.Hoping not to wait till tomorrow to call Adobe Tech support.  Thanks!  

To anyone who can help: When I attempt to export the Captions and Closed Captions from a project in Captivate 2019 on a Mac, the result is a blank Word document.  If I attempt this on a Windows machine, the export is successful, resulting in a fully populated Word document.  If I then localize the appropriate column and attempt to import the file, 0 items import.  If I take a single "cell" in the original .doc file and change it, the file does import.  If I replace the entire column with the localized version, import fails.  I turned on the "Show paragraph marks and other hidden formatting symbols" in the localized .doc file and compare it to the original .doc file and I can see no changes other that the text in the localized column.  What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Just wondering if anyone can help with th e following....Project has a number of characters within it that 'instruct' the learner through a software sim... in turn, each character sends the form throiugh a workflow management system (in the demo)... all works well. At the end, I have added a slide that allows the user to select a section they would like to return to... this works, it takes them back to the relevant section for them to repeat it. Only prob is, the little headshot of the character is no longer showing. I thought 'Retain on slide revisit' might fix but it has not worked. Is there a way to do this? Any help much appreciated 🙂Cheers

Hi all, I recently switched computers and my Mac has been experiencing weird issues. Applied effects are not displayed whenever I publish my project as a video. It is weird because I am able to see those effects if I preview the project as HTML. Any ideas on what could be the issue? I know I changed the resolution for the project, I wonder if that could have an impact?  Thank you so much!

Adobe Captivate 9I created an audio mute and unmute button.  I ran into a little issue where I would like the audio to be muted and give the user the choice unmute it.  I cant figure what I have done incorrect.  I have a feeling its super easy but have been playing with this way to long.  Any ideas or assistance would be great!

I have noticed throughout the discussion board that several people have indicated issues with the Creative Cloud and Captivate licenses working together. Is there really no way to have individual subscriptions on our Business account while also having a team subscription for Creative Cloud?  It makes no sense for me to have to purchase 7 more licenses than needed so that I can work simultaneously with Captivate and say Photoshop, which I do consistently (up to now).  Please advise how we can improve this experience so that we don't abandon ship and go with another authoring tool. If there is someone specific this request needs to go to, please let me know. We are very frustrated and have put a lot of time into learning Captivate but if I can't easily use it with the other Adobe products it isn't of any use to me.
