Character Animator

    Trying to record a walk  but cant because the audio isnt working I cant record anything. Help 

 Good morning everyone, please I don't know what is wrong.. all my saved project is showing this document icon and its not visible when trying to import back to CH or when I try to import to AE... Same thing happens when I save a new project, please I really need help been days and have restarted my PC and also the CH software.

Before I get a bunch of hate regarding self-promotion, I just wanted to suggest that Adobe set up an area within the Character Animator Forum a section that let's users share and promote their Character Animator work. After all, we are a community and it would be great if we could support each other and share our final projects. Members try to assist others when it comes to solving problems, so it would be nice to view the end product. Anyway, I'll go first (go easy on me!) and kindly ask the community to check out a YouTube channel that I co-created (and subscribe, if you'd like to see more content).  We wouldn't have been able to do it without Character Animator. I have been on with Adobe and Windows for HOURS. Neither of them has been able to solve this problem. When I open Character Animator, the camera square just says 'Waiting for Camera.' The camera is working in every other program outside of Adobe. The microphone is also not working. I've done a repair install for Windows 11, and everything is up to date. I've checked my other computer, and the program is working just fine. Something is going on with this one in particular. Hello, wy is it that if you simply change the name of the folder where your project is, you loose all your work?? Does that make any sense? Saving files is a very simple thing and I feel that Adobe somehow managed to get this very simple thing wrong!!

I'm usually pretty adept at CA, but this issue has me stumped! I'm modifying several puppets that I've purchased, and in most cases I've been able to 'Edit Original' and change the artwork in Adobe Illustrator. One of them is giving me problems, however. When I open it up in the RIG window the "Puppet" dropdown in the Properties  panel is blank; normally there's a link to the artwork file. Once more, when I right-click on the Puppet the "Edit Original" command is greyed out. The original AI file is definitely being copied to the Gathered Media folder (and I can modify a copy of it) but I can't update the Puppet art.   Has this happened to anyone else? TIA, JVK

Hello, I have a Illustrator file set up for Character Animator. The puppet works fine. I want to change the artwork for the left arm of the character. I add the arm into Illustrator, turn off the old arm, and everything seems fine in Illustrator. When I save and go back into the Charcter Animator puppet, the new left arm doesn't show up. The new arm that i brought into Illustrator is a PNG file if that helps a diagnosis. Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks! 

Hi. My sound and lipsync are off or delayed whenever I'm setting up a scene. The sound goes out and then the audio is out of sync. What could be the problem?

Hi - I really want to add the 'Wiggle' behaviour to my puppet but all of my puppets are Ps not Ai. Would anyone know do I need to do it in After Effects - and if so which Wiggle effect would be best to get a similar result as the wiggly lines acheived with an Ai file in Character Animator?  Or is there another workaround for this? Thanks for any help!

[newbie alert]  I'm just learning about "Triggers"  and I was wondering if it is possible to animate a body part (Arms) and do all the animation within Character Animator using the 'Draggable' tag on a body part.  The tutorials I've been watching have the animations made outside of Character Animator [in Photosop] and brought in as a sequence and then turned into Trigger Animations. But could I drag the arms around (using the Draggable Tag) and capture that motion / pose? And make it into a sequence that can then be converted to a Trigger Animation??? Ideally, I'd like to create more poses/animations within the App, if possible.PS. I know that you can capture animation derived from the MoCap tool- but its still unclear how to capture animations made on the timeline.

 i have a problem when recording, it keeps stuttering(randomly 5 frames, 8 frames,10 frames each seconds). after using it for a long time, i see the problem happen when i turn on face and eye gaze. i record with camera HD (30fps@720p) of MSI Cyborg 15 A12VF laptop.i want to ask if anyone has encountered the same situation as me and what camera do you use to record. and if you use an external camera to record, what type is enough.please give me a survey so that i can confirm that it is a hardware error and not a software problem. is that record with camera HD (30fps@720p) unnomal.thank you, Guys.

When I add a trigger to my eyebrows, they disappear in the record tab.Then if I press the trigger (e) the eye brows appear while I'm pressing the utoon.I want them to move up and down... What am I doing wrong?

Hi there,i have built a puppet puppet and a number of backgrounds that I'm triggering via a midi keyboard.  I am using them during a live performance streaming the scene to a projector. Everything is working well but I can't figure out if I can use a midi trigger to "Set Rest Pose" as opposed to hitting "Command + P".Can anyone tell me if this is possible? And if so, how to do it?Many thanks in advance,Phil

i wanna record my puppet in character animator but it extremely slow even that i'm not adjust anything in the toolbar, rate record still 1s-1s. i'm delete it and install again , it back to nomal but in a short time and back again. I know that it happen because it want to record frame by frame. but i don't want that. i wnat to record it like nomal in realtime. anyone know please help me, tks guys.

i am getting this when i try to load a puppet from start screen, I uninstall like 2 3 times I dl8 that file too clear cache too but same err

Helo everyone. I am using the trial version of Animator and was wondering if I can impor my own avatar or image and animate it. I have found other AI software that can do what I want, but I like to have control of the animation and was hoping that Adobe Character Animator would help. Thank you.

I am syncing mouths and am running into two issues. My character is designed so that instead of there being a jaw that goes up and down in sync to the mouths, the mouths instead are masked on the bottom of the head shape and are cut off on the bottom when they reach beyond it, like they remain inside the head. He's made to be animated in Adobe Animate, but I can't figure out how to do that in Ch. Is there a way to mask assets instead another layer asset? Secondly, I notice that when I put a smiling and frowning mouth set inside a Trigger Swap, the latched set appeared to be warped in the middle of their artwork when they're recorded. What is causing this? Thank you!

Hi, I have imported a solid color backgound (that I created in Photoshop) to my scene in Character Animator. When I export the project the color doesn't match other elements with the same color. Is there a setting I might have turned on or similar that makes the color off? Or is there a way to change background in Character Animator to a custom solid color? Cheers,Patrik

My characters' body appears in the rigging window but in the scene it's completely gone. Any help would be great.

Hey Gang!Are there any different ways to control the pupils aside from the motion/camera tracking? Can you have the pupils follow the mouse for example??  If there are any other methods, I'd love to hear what they are!Thank you!

Hi all,I was calmly rigging new versions of tried and true puppets, albeit more complex ones, when suddenly Character Animator started crashing whenever I try to create a new scene in order to test the puppet. I first thought it was the latest puppet that was causing the issue, but after checking it over a few times (having to restart the program each time) and not finding red flags, I tried making a new scene with an already rigged puppet, already in a working scene, and that causes Ch to crash as well.Were there any new updates yesterday that might be causing this? Any fixes?Thanks!Using v24.6, Pro version, on Windows 11
