I can't figure out whats wrong with this character. I have two main issues.... JAW: When I have the head group independant I can't move the rest of my body with my head. But if I don't make it independant my entire body moves with my jaw.ARMS: One arm beds the wrong way but only in recordings. I have this issue with several of my characters and sometimes they work just fine even though I'm working off the same "template". I'm sure these are minor adjustments but I can't get it right. Any suggestions? Tom Puppet
What is the best way to make this puffin graphic walk, I just want him/her to walk, move wings (1-2 cm), and open his beak. What optionsl should I use when Im tagging /rugging in CAThanks
My character is an inanimate object (it's a bottle), so he does not have a head, his face is on his body. Is this possibly why I can't pin the limbs to the body? If not, what am I doing wrong? How do I set the layers up properly for a situation like this?
I have a base puppet that includes an AI graphic, behaviors, triggers, etc. I want instances (duplicates) of it that are different in graphic elements like hair length and skin color. What is the best way to maintain the behaviors and triggers in the duplicates? Export and import? OR... is there a good way to change skin color across all of the AI layers for one puppet that include 5 head profiles, 5 hand choices in each of 5 body profiles, etc? Note that “Recolor artwork” seems to only work on visible layers, resulting in a bunch of toggling to turn them all on and then try to get them back to the original states after changing skin color. The ideal approach would be to import the base puppet in CA each time, then set a few parameters like skin color, hair color, and hair length. I doubt this would work, however. <sigh>
Hello, I didn't buy the webcam because it became expensive due to the influence of Corona. So I want to use a cell phone camera, action camera, mirrorless camera, etc.Can these cameras be connected in the adobe character animator? I tested a mirrorless camera and a cell phone camera and I couldn't detect it. Please let me know if there is a way.
I've been having trouble opening Character Animator on my Windows 10 laptop. I've been trying for hours and hours, using different methods experienced by some After Effects users with no avail. Every time I open my Character Animator 2020, this appears (attached below). I've tried running it as an administrator, uninstalling and downloading previous versions and changing the names of previous files. Not sure what to do, does anyone have suggestions?
Hello there! I am starting to work with character animator and had made a character that worked quite well. I made another character of a similar design, and for some reason his body does not move nearly as much when I move my head as the other character i made previously does. I can't figure it out at all. I have tried making all necessary layers independent and still moves the same... I am wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or has a solution. Thanks!
I am trying to take a blank puppet and update it to a character I want to use. How do I go back and forth between these two programs. I don't know how to do it and it's frustrating. I watch the oksamuria video and it doesn't tell me exactly how it goes back and forth. Thank you!
Hey hello! So I'm using the Almasol puppet to experiment however ive run into an issue with the alternate mouths.much like everyone else, the issue is that when i try to trigger the set only a static picture of the defaultsad mouth appears, no lip sync. The other triggers work fine though there is no lip sync need for those.I've gone through all of the tutorial videos I could find relation to this and read as much as i can - stilli cant seem to correct the issue.. its driving me nuts!!!! lol!please please can someone tell me what the issue is here before i burst an eye ball...Many thanks!!!
Hi!I have a alternative "sad" mouth group hooked up with a trigger/switch. That works! The problem is that all the viseme's are working except for the "Uh"sound. It's tagged exactly the same way as all the other sounds (which work). I've downloaded Bluster and Almasol puppets to check the diffrences but couldn't find any. The rigging isues is telling me "Layer tagged as Uh is not being used by any behaviors". Why does the Face Behavior know how to work with my other layers but not my Uh layer? Thanks in advance,Bas
Im not sure how to keep the eyelashes above the face layer but then make them dissapear and go to closed when the eyes blink. https://1drv.ms/u/s!ArnyL1-oAxmklVGJ2B6kjz5-CNsx?e=PdDei0 Any help would be MUCH appreicated I'm at my wits end.
I have art work of 6 different parts of my Puppet, Front, side, back (6 in total), I would like to use a front view, then the camera going over her hear to show her from the back. Many Thanks .....
I want to create an animation where my character walks on to the scene then turn to faces the front in a front on view do I need to make two different animations in different files one of him walking on then another him facing the fron then but them to getter if so how do I make them line up so it turns in the right place. Also do I need to make 2 different character views (front facing postion then side facing postion) so one can be riged to walk.
I used to be able to stream to Streamlabs obs at 60 fps no problem on previous versions of Character Animator but after the 3.0 updates it'll drop down to 10-12 fps when I turn on the stream option. I keep everything updated on my computer so I don't know that could be causing it to drop down in framerate. Even using the templates, the framerate drops.
There's no easy way to time-reverse keyframes, correct? I have a character that I'm moving along Position X by a certain increment. I've manually entered them moving from Position X "-1060" to Postion X "0" incrementally by 10. I want them now to do the reverse... Postion X "0" to Position X "-1060".
@oksamuraiDear as I asked for helped me to import my character file to character animator Ihttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1hr2GpdkJYuDQrFkeJMee3IQxmS_ISS1W/view?usp=sharing am sharing my file to correct me were I have done some wrong in my file
So I've been trying out the new walk behavior and every time the character legs bend in a weird way. So I wrote out step by step what to do in the video tutorial to see what I was doing wrong and I finally figured it out. When I first go to record a character it is always too big so I use the scale under transform to make it fit. That's what is making my characters walk funny. If I don't scale they walk normally. So my question is what size in photoshop should I be making my characters. I'm currently using 1800 x 2700. Or is there a way to make the scene on character animator bigger so I don't have to scale down the character. btw, this isn't the normal character I work on. I figured it would be easier for me to spot what I'm doing wrong by using a stick figure.
Some fellow students and I are working on a project for a university class and we are running into some issues. We handrew a character and have since recorded facial and audio and all appears fine within the program. We are having trouble exporting as a video with alpha so the background will appear transparent as we are going to be layering him above an animation we are making in Hype. We cant seem to export it as a video with alpha. We have also tried exporting as a .PNG series of images with a .WAV file. There are over 6000 images total. We tried cutting the animation time in half to see if the image count would go downa as well but it doesnt. (the animation at its longest is maybe 30 seconds) Upon looking at the .CHPROG file it says 'zero bytes' could it be a hardware issue? any help is appreciated. This project is due April 23, 2020
I am experienced with keyframes from AE, and am able to scale, etc a puppet in CA. I have identified a dragger for the arm of a puppet, but cannot get it to appear in the Timeline area for the scene containing the puppet. What are the needed steps? Better still, is there a source the describes keyframes and movements of body parts? I sense that I am missing some concepts behind the process.
i was following a tutorial while creating my first puppet, i have a character head that looks in all directions with triggers and property behaviors that work well. in the tutorial, when it was time to work on the body i looked as though the document size was changed adding a new layer called "body" and it linked just fine. i have a seperate project with the organized body partsso i copied and pasted it into the project that is connected to character animator project, but when i adjust the size of the illustrator project to fit both head and body the head of the character shifts to the right in character animator. only elements of the head where moved, not the entire layer and only the front facing head was shifted all the other angles were in the correct position. i'm new to character animator and i am trying to teach myself through tutorials and forums, if anyone has had this issue or could tell me if i made a simple mistake i would really appreciate it. thank you

Hi, I've made a simple cycle layer trigger using 5 layers with "bottom to top", "let cycle finish", and a "cycle pause".The problem is it plays when I hit the first trigger, but anytime after that, I need to hit the trigger twice for it to continue or play again anytime after that. Hope someone can offer some helpful input 🙂
