hi all,First time experimenting with CA, but I am having some issues. For some reason when I record my eyeball moves with the pupil slightly. Id like for the pupil to move as intended within the eyeball, but can't pinpoint the issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Ive attached some screenshots that will help to illustrate the issue. -ADrew

CA has come on a lot since I last had a look, so look forward to using it more this time. My question:In Puppet mode, you get to see Behaviors and by making adjustments here you can improve the reaction of different parts such as, the tilt of the head, the eyebrow strength etc. Now, I've tried the, Mouth Strength here, but it seems to affect the size of the mouth, which is ok, but what I want to know is can you adjust the sensitivity of the mouth, in relationship to the mapping of the mouth in real speech? It seems that there is a mismatch between the live mouth movements and the puppets mouth responce?I just want to get a better match between my mouth movement, which is tracked well by the camera, and the actual puppet's mouth movements. Hope that makes sense?I did try the only option in, Lip Synce, the Jaw Movement, but this didn't seem to make any difference? I'm disasbled, deaf and now diagnosed with dementia. I am intending to try and use my character to talk
I am getting the following error in one of my projects - can you help please? The project doesn't load and I get the error message as below.
I keep running into issues I'm not sure what's causing them. So, a couple questions:Do changes made to a puppet in a scene apply to the puppet permanently or just to that local scene?Do changes to a puppet only stay with that project folder and, if I want them to go to other projects, I have to export that "new version" of the puppet from the project and import it into other projects? I really hate that each project makes it's own folders instead of having a single source for puppets.
I've done a lot of work on my puppet in Ch project to make it move naturally but all my works had suddenly disappeared sometimes then I reworked again and again. So again today, the error message pops up and it seems like I'm gonna lose all my works in my project. Does anybody know what I have to do in order not to lose my works in the project I'm working on? It happens very frequently which I never experienced other adobe programs like photoshop or illustrator The error message below is one of the example of missing my files. Once I click "open anyway," my work disappears or another error message comes out and says "libgit2 error-1(4/corrupted loose referent file..)
First. Props to Dave for all his great work.I was doing the Magnets tutorial and downloaded the .puppet file to work on. When I created a copy of the Fish Arm component to rig from scratch it failed to work, even when I created a new scene. I found that the arm failed to drag. I went over the rigging line by line, layer by layer and it simply wouldn't drag.I created my own arm puppet from scratch in illustrator and was mindful of the hierarchal relationship required insofar as the dynamic collidable magnet object (the fish or, in my case a ball) had to be the parent of the arm grabbing it. I created a new scene with my own new puppet and voila! it worked just fine; however, I wanted to experiment with the nesting of layers and see how it effected behaviour and, of course, I found that the behaviours were rendered inert. This is where it gets interesting. When I re-rigged the copy of my original puppet, the arm of this puppet lost its draggable behaviour even although I created a new sc
i'm very new to charater animator. this is for a university project, i have completed my charater video and want to export it with the white background, however it keeps showing a black background in premiere pro which is what im using to finalise my video. ive tried exporting with media encoder and also ony using PNG sequence and WAV however both have still come up with a black background. i tried to create my own background in illustrator however this recognised it as a puppet and would not show the actual puppet i need over the top of it. what can i do to get a white background on premiere? my laptop isnt the best, storage is close to full and can be extremely slow, my deadline is next week and ive got a lot more to do and im starting to panic, what is the best way around this for me to show the plain white background?
I've set up my puppet correctly with arm IK. When I record, I visually watch the arm bending the correct way as I puppet it, but as soon as I replay it, it shows the joint bent in the reverse of what I saw. I checked the settings for arm IK and "reverse" was NOT checked. I tried replaying after checking those boxes, nothing changed. I tried removing arm IK and re-recording the movement. Again, the arm was visually bending the correct way, and then played back reverse of what I saw when recording. what am I missing here?
I'm trying to create my personal charcater on CA but, when I finish to record expressions and audios, an error message appears. It says: "unable to open the file" and then it shows the folders path. If I close the window and I return to the main menu, when I click on "Create your character" the system says: "unable to open the file face-capture facecap for processing". I can only click on "OK" then I have to re-do the recordings, but, when I finish, it still shows the same error message. I've already tried to re-do the whole process but I still got the same problem... What should I do now?
Whenever I load a scene I have an error code that pops up "3.1 x 49". i've attached pictures showing the error messages that are popping up. I'm trying to do this on a surface pro 7, it was working two days ago while i was initially rigging it, and after I deleted the background and initial sketch drawing in the photoshop file the next day I started getting all these problems in character animator with multiple puppets on the tablet. I've tried old puppets that have worked on other computers, reinstalling character animator, loading unrigged photoshop files, refreshing and clearing the cache, starting new blank projects with unrelated puppets, going back in history. The only thing that has worked so far is trying a different project on a different computer or pressing visibility/refreshing the scene until I randomly don't get that error.
Hi there, first time question asker.I've run into the problem of all the profile views showing at the same time. Whether it just be when I only want a frontal, or when I have a walk behavior. I believe that they are all tagged correctly, and all views have been made independent, but the program does not recognize them. This is the first time I have had this problem, and comparing the files to other puppets I have made, and the Adobe Puppets, I can't seem to find the flaw. Hopefully someone can spot what I'm blind too! Thanks in advance.
Hi there. When recording new audio, on playback the audio lags extremely badly. What could be causing this? I've checked the hardware settings for audio inputs in the Preferences menu and everything checks out, and the computer has a huge amount of RAM and other specifications way beyond what the program needs so it's not a CPU problem. Is it possibly some kind of software conflict external to Character Animator?
The top of the body by the shoulders move in a jerky way in a profile walk cycle. The head is also not attached and moving with the body.It almost looks like the step phase is turned on.Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?
Hello my favorite People,You guys have kept me moving along with my project. I now have to learn how to use cameras. I created six characters and I have each one walk out separately while being introduced. I animated each character in separate scenes and put them together in after effects. I now want to use cameras to zoom and pan on characters to make it more exciting to watch. I am trying to use the camera in after effect to do this. I have been playing with the null object and camera but am having a lot of trouble getting what I want. I have searched this forum and after effecst forum and you tube but cannot use this camera correctly. Maybe I am not searching correctly. If anyone can point me to an effective tutorial it would help me greatly. Any advice would help me greatly. I know we can do it. HELP!!!
I am learning how to use character animater, so these are my first characters. They were based on a template then changed. I added behaviors and rigged them to walk, turn, and have swap sets but now none of those behaviors are working. Please help!!
Hi! I just started learning how to use Character Animator this week using Okay Samurai's videos. Everything seems to be working perfectly, but for some reason, the head gets distorted whenever I move closer or farther away from the camera. I really don't know how to explain it, but I've attached a video and a picture of the settings I currently have on my puppet. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Hi! I am using a 2012 mac, updated I don't know if this problem has occured with anyone yet, but when I downloaded Adobe Character Animator, I recieved a warning from my anti-malware programs that Character Animator contains potentially fraudulent software. I would very much like to use CA, but I am uncertain if I should go ahead. If anyone has had this similar issue, please let me know! Thank you
Hi Guys, I wanted to ask about character distortion. I have a character from Adobe Illustrator. If I managed to to get it working nicely with dangling and triggers and such but at one point I mess things up "somehow" and stuff starts to distort. If I have head connected to the body, I switch to record mode and character gets bloated. Plus if I turn on "Head scale strength" in Face properties, or I start changing transform values, things get distorted even more.If I make the head independent, the first problem disappears, everything looks fine at first, but the second one stays. Head scale strength makes the head distort in all sort of crazy way. What could be the source of these distortions? Thanks so much for any info.
Hey I was trying to find the Dr.funkenstein puppet, wanted to take it apart, want to see how the body turning works, I want to see how the keyboard trigger is used on this puppet but I can't find anywhere online.... I thought it a free puppet, i checked character animator free puppets page but couldn't find it.... Can you please give me a direct download link or tell me how to get this puppet..... Thanks.....
I'm just following the, Creating a Photoshop puppet (Adobe Character Animator Tutorial.)System Setup 1st problem... when I use the, Copy/Paste Layer option, it works fine in PS, but when save and go back to CA, I have problems.I've tried this several times and both on the layer, or Folder I get the same problem.I am aware this is something that happens when there is a mismatch of where Items are placed, but I've not moved anything, I have just added a colour overlay as per the tutorial and then copy and pasted, that layer style to the lid? The next problem: When I go back to CA, I can see it reloading the updated PS Files, but I'm losing conection to the camera? Set Rest Pose, does not work. I have to select another camera and then go back? Hope someone can help? Many thanks!
I have finished creating a character at the middle of artboard (2500×2500) by adobe illustrator,But when I imported it to adobe character animator it is not in the middle of the scene even at the record tab or the rigging tab, I have set the hight and the width at (2500×2500),and the character is not positioned at the middle. Is there a problem?should not it appear at the middle?
I cannot use live action animation, because I'm too disabled. However, I would like to develop a character to represent me and read my post. I know I can bring in an audio file, but can I then animate the face, rather that just a fixed face with just the mouth moving? Hope this makes sense?
