Hi everyone! I'm trying to do a simple cycle layers animation, and it keeps disappearing when it hits the last layer. I've tried this on multiple characters. The layer is set to visible. I add a trigger and a cylcle layer. But in the Scene panel, all layers are invisible until I push the trigger, then it plays the cycle and disappears. I can check the "Hold on last layer", and it holds, until I push my trigger again and it again disappears. Please helpa. I know it's something simple, but I can't figure it out. Thanks!John D.
Puppet mouth is not visible except when I move my mouth. otherwise face has no mouth. I'm sure it is how I have arranged the layers in the puppet but I can't gfind the problem.
Hey Guys.I just ran into a issue that keept me busy for the last few hours.I want to use the character "sticky" as a starting Point for a new character, so that I only Need to switch out parts and save the rigging time.BUT once I open the character in CA and PS everything works fine, character reacts, stickst to the Floor and so on. When I do the simplest changes in the PSD file. (even disable a layer, enable it again and save) Back in CA the character seems to have changed its rigging. It is no longer attached to the Floor and I see multyple layers that have not been there before.is there any help?I only want to use it as a base, cause I Need a character with Walking behaviours and the parallax movement as well as the side views.Any help is much appreciated! All the bestFlo
Hi, Can anyone help me to open my file again?I am receiving this error message after I reinstalled CH again.ThanksIan
Hey , im creating an animal character , its a panda , i needed head turner behavior for its head and also different face emotions like crying - angry - cute etc. Which means for every face position like frontal , left quarter and the others (which makes 7 different poses) i need 6 different face styles (including normal)Now the problem is that the face is a little detailed , eyelids and mouth are different for different emotions , the character has white cheeks which i want them moved for more depth. So for all of these , i created a main group named head , followed by groups for head turner like different profiles and each profile has all different types of emotions. now the whole project I have got has a whooping number of 830 layers which i think is just too much and the only thing which is not moving is the main part of the head that consists of only 4 layers.Any suggestions on how to make this project better organised / optimized?
I have a character that is waving in character animator but when i export it and then render it its arm is flailing all over the place and it looks terrible. Why is there a difference between what is showing in character animator and the output?
Hi there,I am fiddling around a little while and wonder if it would be possible to influence clothes on separate layers when moving arms and legs e.g. skirt, cape, ...Thanks in advance,chrispi_
Hi, I'm trying to coy a mouth group from one puppet to another but nothing is working. I have tried dragging the group from one puppet to the other, that didn't work. I also tried just copy paste but that didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
I have recently updated the latest versions of Adobe Character Animator ( v 2.0 ) and After Effects ( v 16.0) and cannot export my project/scene to after effects using the dynamic link. You can see the error reproduced below: I have tried rebooting my computer, then opening Character Animator, then opening After Effects (while allowing proper load times between each program launch) - but the error continues. Any assistance on a fix is appreciated.
After being signed out of CC, I signed back in and found all my characters GONE from Character Animator. There are no files left. What happened and how do I recover my work?
I need to know how to work in Character Animator - beyond the helpful training pages. I need to understand what to check for when stuff doesn't work. Nowhere have I found such a thing. Is there a resource I don't know about?
Hello,4 minutes after the effect when I import the 6 minutes, what can be the problem?Good luck with.Character animator recordAfter effect import later 6 minutes?
Hi! I am fairly new to Character Animator but am having an issue with the Proteus Puppet (free download here: Character Animator Examples ).I make changes to it to turn off or on the features (noses, hairstyles, glasses, etc...) I want, then save it to a new puppet with a new name and when I go to make a scene with it I get different features. Wrong eyes, missing glasses/facial hair and such. What am I doing wrong?Would using illustrator to delete any unwanted options work and what woudlbe the best way to go about doing that? Thanks in advance!
Is it possible to zoom to work area? If so what is the keystroke?
I'm trying to make a walking puppet, using the Robot template and the Walking tutorial: Walking (Adobe Character Animator Tutorial) - YouTubeBut when I get to rigging shoulders, no such option appears for me? It's just the neck option.
I have recorded some character movements that are pretty much exactly what I needed. But I get some weird head movements where the character is distorted beyond recognition for maybe half a second. Or maybe a Dragger moment where the hand goes somewhere I didn't want it to go. But overall, I want to keep the whole take, and just edit out a few frames of the crap.I know I can go back and cut that sort of thing out in After Effects, but can I just edit out those bad bits in Character Animator, while keeping the rest? Or do I have to go back and record it all again? Thanks.
Taking the very simple puppet from my previous thread as an example, I was wondering if it would be possible to make the transition (layer cycles) between the two different states different when going forward and backwards, like this?
What is the best way to record a character in order to use it to narrate a video?I have built a Horseshoe character that I use in some horse-how to videos, I have one video that a friend shot and she cut off my recording at the end so I need to superimpose my character over the video and have him narrate instead. I'd like him to point and such so I can make it more dynamic but have no idea how to record and know when to point/when to say to what...I have the video file, I typically use Premiere pro but could use after effects. I want my character in the bottom right corner but he will need to point to areas of the hoof and such.
I have a character that will blink even though no "Blink" is in the timeline to trigger it. I have three head positions all with a single layer in each that is a triggered and not set to latch. Unfortunately, I am under NDA so I cannot share my puppet. But if anyone has experienced this phantom blink and have a solution, I will shower you with accolades. cheers,Blinky
I am curious, are we able to import Daz 3d characters into Character Animator? That would make the process a LOT more simple since y ou wouldn't have to deal with sprites.-Just curious
Hello, I just looked at daves new puppet Leeta the hair moving on her is world class (well done david, excellent work again). puppetI did the Shadow effect on the face of my test puppet, as well as the parallax of the face from side to side like in Leeta, just cant get the same effect. anyone any tips? I want to record the movement for both arms of a character.First I record the movement for one arm. But when I want to record the movement for the other arm, Ch doesn't show the movement for the first arm while recording. How can I see the movements recorded during the first take, while I record additional movement for the second take? Thanks!
Hi, I have a very simple puppet with two states that substitute each other depending on a key being held, which triggers a transition animation between them. Both forms of the character have mouth and blinking eyes.Everything works fine except for one thing: While the transition is playing, the random blinking of the next form is already active, so it can show up before the transition is complete. Here's a picture to illustrate what I mean:How can I deactivate blinks, lip sync and anything else that's not the transition animation, while between the different states?Thank you.
Hi,I have a puppet of an egg with hands, eyes , and mouth on the egg.I set the egg will be the head, and everything is going well, except the problem that the egg(head) is floating like a fish in the sea.I want to fix the bottom of the egg to the floor, when I put the fixed tool at the bottom of the egg, it doesn't fixed, still the same.I suppose it's because the egg is tagged as an head, but I have to tag it as an head because the rig needs to be controled by my face.
During the record process I want to bend a character's arms. While using the dragger on the hand, I can get the arm to bend one way and look natural, but not the other. See below. How can I determine which way the arm will bend?Any ideas? This is what the arm looks like in the Rig, in case it matters. Thanks!
