What is the color profile embedded in Character Animator? Starting with my Photoshop art, I have been using Rec.709 Gamma 2.4, which is a recommended profile for video. Should I set my After Effects and Premiere Pro projects to this if I'm importing Character Animator scenes into those apps? Color settings would be a nice feature. Thanks.
hello, can someone help me? When I turn on the walking feature, my character's head separates from his body. "neck" is in the "body" layer. They should have held on to each other:/ what can I do?
We cant open our project and get this error? can you please further advise?
Since Character Animator 2023 and also in 2024 I have the following problem: When I calculate the head movement from speech, the animation is not smooth but jerky. In CA 2022 the animation was fluid. How can I fix the problem? In 2023 and 2024 I have the same settings as in 2022.
Hello! I have recently started recording a podcast. There are two hosts. The podcast will be recorded and edited in Audition. We would like to animate the podcast using Character Animator. We would prefer to animate it after the fact, rather than when we're actually recording. I was wondering if lip syncing is difficult with two puppets from pre-recorded audio. I can't find any videos/tutorials on lipsyncing with multiple puppets from audio that's already recorded. Will I need each person on a separate track? Thanks for any help. I know it will take me some time to fully understand the program, so I'd like to know if it's actually capable of this before I spend all that time. Also if you know of any tutorials that cover this specifically, that would be amazing. Thanks!
Hello. So... The visemes. 🤦🏻♂ Is there ever going to be a proper fix on getting the visemes to function correctly? I speak extremely clear into my microphone and the audio from my files are very clear, but, it takes me several hours - and I mean several; like 5 hours or so - to change the visemes, so that the puppet's mouth moves correctly. Even though my audio recordings are a bit long - 12 minutes or more - it shouldn't take me 5 hours to correct 12 minutes of audio. My eyes are burning! 😂 I am about to create a YouTube channel. But... This visemes problem. Don't get me wrong, it's a huge upgrade from what was there before - thank goodness. But, please... One of these days, when you guys do have the time, please begin resolving the problem so it doesn't take so many hours to get my puppet's mouth to sync up with - almost every word. Well, not every word. But word like "while" "wow" - mainly words with the letter W. I generate captions from Premier P
Can someone tell me how to animate a body without a webcam I don't have one?
The first image is what my character project looked like before I made some edits (to the +Controller Hands layer, specifically. Character Animator was closed during these edits and when I reload Character Animator, it updates to incorporate my changes to the layers and then just wholesale wipes all my rigging. Nothing changed. No layers were moved or deleted, just edited, but everything is wiped and I have to start all over again because I cannot rollback to an "earlier" original. The PSD is saved as is, so every time I try to do anything, it reverts to the "new" PSD and erases all my past work. I have to be missing something here? What did I goof on? Can I not edit anything without Character Animator open to make sure it doesn't go crazy and wipe my changes when I load back in?
Please save the replay, if it contains audio, then there is no way to edit the replay, what is the reason? Is it a software bug.Details can be found in the video attachment Max52comic@163.com
I followed along to Okay Samurai's tutorial starting with puppet Blank.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL024_E1AUk&list=PLdcW0eJAkJzCI8rFcPjycwcycsONsIKP6&index=5for some reason my pupils sometimes looking up dissapear into my brain lol I'm not sure how to adjust that tracking or if it has something to do with something else. Also, I am having trouble with the camera calibration, any tips on that would be extremely helpful.and the mic is picking up and moving lips to the fan just very odd. can I turn down background noise? how do I do that?I've attached the puppet I call CSC-Avatar. thank you for your help. 🙂

Hello,My replays are not recording and I cannot figure out why. The replays play fine if I'm not recording. When I hit the record button, then trigger the replay I see the replay but once I stop the recording nothing gets recorded on my timeline. I know that it has to be something simple but can't figure it out. If I pose my puppet and record that works. It's only the replays that don't record. I've restarted my computer as well. I'm using version 22.2. Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi, I'm new to Character Animator. I'm trying to use it to create short clips for a music video I'm working on.I've set up a character in photoshop, and am hoping to get some advice about it before I export it to Character Animator. I only need a little head movement and the eyes to move for this particular clip. Is this set up correctly? And what issues will I encounter when I start to set up rigging.Thank you for your time.
Can anyone tell me if the characterizer function has gone now am using Adobe CC ver 23.6
Hi there! New to the forum - but I've been reading everything I can find on this subject here, but so far none of the fixes have really helped me. I've also watched all of the OK Samurai tutorials on walking, and rigged my puppet as he demonstrates with the 3 view Eliza puppet. I'm still having issues with his walk. His shoulders slump down and his feet in particular are really warped. I've messed with placement on my neck, hips and waist tags with no major improvements. I have sticks in place. Desperate for a little help - if someone is willing to take a look for me. Also, my arms are not moving correctly - but I haven't even started to tackle that - which I figured would be easier than what's going on in general. Here is the puppet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/164AVcQvXXuCwp4_umLgJ6bHtEmkmKm_y/view?usp=sharingThank you in advance!
I have composed a 5 minute song-from USA Youth to Ukranian Youth. The two verses represent empathy. The choruses are 6 characters who supposedly lip sing and dance. Doing two things at once, such as singing and dancing, has been shown to aide in brain trauma, which these poor Ukranian children have suffered immensly. I've got all characters dancing, but often the program jams and stops them from dancing in rhythm. I suspect it is too much information? I took out the visemes. I have only one scene. In addition, I have a bunch of backgrounds that are imported as puppets. They all have both English and Ukranian words. My question is-how can I make this work? I would include an example, but I haven't figured out how to simply take a portion of the song and post it.
I write animated songs. The backgrounds are scenes that have artwork and occassionally triggers. I upgraded to CA 2024. Now most of the artwork isn't showing up. I can't create triggers like I used to. I'm using OS 12.6. The artwork keeps coming up in AI with these things. (See Attachment) Is there an additional step I am missing, or is this just a bug? If a bug, I need it fixed ASAP.
I have the most up to date version of Character Animator, I am using a MacOS Ventura 13.2.1 (Up to Date). I have tried downloading Puppet files from OkSamurai and when attempting to open, Character Animator will begin launch and then crash with no error message and just display an Adobe Crash Report. I have also had a custom puppet made and when trying to open that file, it's the same issue.
I believe my Logitech webcam is causing crashes. I've look at everything and I'm convinced the webcam is the problem. Anyways I'd like to try something new. Can anyone recommend a good reliable webcam for a PC running Windows 10. Thanks!
There's alot of information online about exporting scenes to use in After Effects. But for me, I created an Intro and Outro for my videos and I want to be able to import these 'scenes' into new projects I created. I can't figure out how to do it.
Hello everyone,Even though I made all the adjustments, 2 legs of my puppet are floating in the air, and the other 2 legs, which are fixed, start to slide after a while. Can anyone help me on this? You can reach my puppet from the linkThank you from now..https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WpNvQwv6wRVjlR4Gqg6hrDGZpt_bQLB7/view?usp=share_link
I am getting this error message when I try and rig a photoshop file. It is a puppet that has been rigged before but the rigging disappeared from the puppet and when I try to go to the rigging screen I get this message:error in Ch version 23.6x58The Photoshop file operation failed. Reason (-1)I can open the file without any problem in Photoshop itself. Does anyone have any idea what this means? I cannot find a reference to it anywhere.I am using version 23.6 Build 58 of Character Animator.I am working on a Mac mini M1 OS 13.5.2 with 16GB of memory
Since installing Command Post to start and stop the timeline from a MIDI controller the timeline has gotten slow to respond even when just using the space bar. When I push play it takes about 2 seconds to get going again. I uninstalled Command Post and it still does it. I'm using CA in a live performance so this is important to me. Any ideas on what could be clogging up the system?
I got my three-view human puppet here. Really a basic setup. I don't have a webcam at the moment, but that shouldn't be an issue, since I never actually use motion tracking. So when I got everything rigged, characters head does not move together with the body, but it is connected. It looks like the forhead is pinned at the position of the origin and just keeps stretching the image of the head when I try to make replays or move draggables. Also when I use walk behaviour the whole body disappears. The motion library behaviour distorts a few shadow layers, and yes, I have checked everything for atleast 10 times (independecies, rig itself, tags, limb ik, basically EVERYTHING). Seems like no matter how much effort I put into detailed rigging things only get worse and worse.
