But in case Adobe IS peeking... Creative Cloud is STILL using up to 100% CPU for extended periods of time. 3 years after the first posts appeared about this issue. Yes, I have the most recent version installed (I update religiously - and that is probably one of my mistakes, as I found out that all updated of CC apps need to be started at least once, which I don't do). Killing all offending Adobe processes returns my iMac to normal operation. Fans only turn on when I do heavy lifting, and no longer run at full speed 24/7. But this is not why I'm posting: in trying to discover the root cause of my iMac turning on the fan all of the time, I found out that going offline stops the fans.
