Digital Editions

I am looking for advice as to whether Adobe Digital Editions is compatible with Windows Server (2016 or 2019) deployed in an RDS (Remote Desktop Server) for access by multiple users within their Terminal Server session. Thanks

So, I have an adobe id account with my school and my school library provides online downloadable books that i can download with my adobe login. I download the app both on my mac and ipad, then i log in to authorize my account with the intention i can download books from any of my device, and access them on all, since i am using the same account. However, ade needs to way overcomplicate everything in this world, and when i try to download or open a book I downloaded with my already logged in authorized full access account, ade wont open it and says: "Unable to download, Error getting Licence Server Communication Problem, E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER" who is me. I downloaded the book with the same credentials, yet this rubbish program still wont open it. Also, i tried to download on my macbook, it downloads, but i cant transfer/move it onto my ipad either. I wish i could use another app but this is what i need to read the books from my school :'(Please HELP!!Also, ADOBE, WHAT

Buenas tardes tengo dos cuentas en Adobe digital Editions una mia y otra de mi marido, cuando pincho en el icono de Adobe digital Editions, siempre sale la cuenta de mi marido, con lo cual los libros que compro se van a su cuenta y yo no los puedo leer . Como puedo cambiar de usurio.

hey everyone, I've bought an ebook from Avid and it said I should download Adobe Digital Editions and open my ACSM ebook there. I'm getting this error when I try to open it. It's happening both on my Mac and my iOS app. I tried to contact both Adobe and Avid and neither of them could help me with this error. Does anyone know what's happening and what I should do to fix it?Thank you!

Hola, he comprado un libro ebook en una página web de una libreria y está en formato acsm y quiero convertirle o en pdf o en epub para poderlo poner en mi ebook. Me he descargado la app en mi Mac y en el Iphone y cuando ya me he creado la cuenta y la tengo autorizada y me descargo el libro para ponerlo en la app me dice que tengo error de licencia y que no se puede hacer nada. Llevo con este problema más de un mes y no se que hacer, ya que el libro lo he pagado y no me dan solución en la libreria, me dicen que contacta con vosotros. ¿Qué puedo hacer? Solo quiero el libro o en pdf o en epub, que alguien me lo hago por favor, estoy desesperada. Necesito leer para hacer un trabajo ese libro.  

I downloaded a .acsm profile from archive.org. But its content was displayed completely different on pc and iOS. It works perfect on pc like a normal e-book, while it feels like being erased on iOS (plz find the attachment, you'll understand better about my description.) Can anyone tell me what to do to solve this problem? J'ai résolu les problèmes évoqués dans mes posts précédents MAIS ..... Il s'avère qu' ADOBE DIGITAL 4.5 ne fonctionne pas sur MACBOOK AIR sous système d'exploitation "MONTEREY".Cela semble incroyable mais c'est la pure réalité : impossible de transférer un livre numérique (provenant d'une médiathéque) sur une liseuse BOOKEEN (muse frontlight).Les identifiant d'Adobe étant identiques sur l'ordinateur et sur la liseuse, il y a blocage du livre numérique arrivant sur la liseuse, livre impossible à lire.Il est à noter que le systéme d'exploitation MONTEREY ne supporte pas les anciennes versions d'adobe digital éditions. Et il semblerait qu'Adobe ne mette pas à jour son application 4.5 !Quelqu'un a-t-il une solution ?Merci

Comment effacer l’autorisation de l’ordinateur quand « l’utilisateur autorisé » (c’est à dire une adresse mail) n’est plus en fonction et a été remplacée par une autre adresse mail dans le compte personnel sur ADOBE ?La fonction « command »/shift/D (sur Mac) amène un message « effacer l’autorisation de l’ordinateur » avec « utilisateurs autorisés » mentionnant l’adresse mail n’existant plus et demandant le « mot de passe » que je ne peux pas donner puisque l’adresse mail en relation n’existe plus. QUE FAIRE ?

I hope someone has an answer. I simply can't login/authorise ADE under the adobe ID, despite having an Adobe ID, ie email, and a valid password. I've confirmed the password is ok, ie logging into this forum for instance. l've tried several times and get the same error, username or password incorrect. As I say, I hope someone can suggest a solution. 

Hola, tengo un Tagus Gaia+ comprado en El Corte Inglés.Compré un libro en Casa del Libro y es cuando descubrí todo el tema de Adobe Digital Editions.Me he creado la cuenta en adobe, y la he creado en el ereader.Hasta aquí bien.El problema es que mi mujer se ha bajado un libro de la biblioteca (proveedor de DRM Odilo), y yo por precaucion le instalé el Adobe Digital Editions en su PC para que viese como se hace.Pero al pasarlo al Tagus, me dice que tengo que desactivar mi cuenta "Configura tu Adobe ID', y me muestra el Id mio. Solo me permite desactivarlo, no agregar otro ID (de Odilo)El tagus solo permite trabajar con una cuenta?, no puedo comprar de dos sitios, con dos IDS distintos y que el Tagus se entere?.En Mi PC podría tener dos o mas cuentas (autorizaciones) en Adobe Digital Editions?.Gracias  

Hi there, this is another post about the DRM authorisation not working on KOBO. I spoke with the Kobo customer care (because luckily they do have one!) and they told me it's an issue on Adobe's end. On my computer, with ADE 4.5, everything looks good, authorisation has been granted etc. etc. But once I go on my Kobo Clara HD, the book can't be opened because "Your eReader is not authorized to open this book. Because you previously deauthorized your eReader, you need to reimport the book using ADE". I followed the Kobo guide, the ADE guide found here, and I still can't open ebooks I have legally access to.Can someone please find a solution to this that works and solves the problem once and for all? Please, do not refer me to previous posts or guides because I have followed them already. I need *actual* support. Also I'd like to point out how so many Kobo users have this problem and it would be nice if Adobe, which is our only option to read DRM protected books, fixed a problem

Hi. Is there a feature like updating ADE from "inside" the program? Like many other programs have inside their help-menus ( "Check for Updates" )..... How will I else know when there is a new Version out?  Thx🖐️

Hi guys. I have not used Digital Editions in years and now can't access my content since it seems ADE was last updated in 2018!? Where do I get my fliles and how can I move them over to Kindle or Google e-Reader?

Using windows 11 and latest illustrator version

I recently bought a Kobo Clara 2E. I downloaded an ebook from my local library website on my windows laptop, added to Digital Editions, transferred it to my Kobo and was able to read it. I didn't finish the book, so have re-borrowed it from my library and followed the same process as above. However, when I now go to open the book on my Kobo, I get the "Your eReader is not authorized to open this book". It also says "because you previously deauthorized your eReader, you need to re-import the book using ADE." I didn't deauthorize my e-reader. I have since done so, whilst also de-authorizing my Windows computer. I have re-authorized both the computer and eReader multiple times, deleted the book from both the eReader and computer multiple times, re-borrowed from the library multiple times and I continue to get the same error. I tried downloaded a different book and still get the same error.  Is their a fix?

I received this error note when trying to open an e-book for school. It is an Adobe e-book, so I cannot open it with any other device/software. I also cannot open any of the non-school e-books that I have on Adobe Digital Editions (i.e. ones with no expiry date). I have rebooted my computer, I have uninstalled/reinstalled the program, and nothing works. My exam for this course is in a few weeks, and I need access to the e-book to study. I have contacted fellow students who have the e-book, and they are able to open it fine, so this is definitely an Adobe problem, not a publisher issue.Please help ASAP.EDIT: When investigating further, I clicked on item info for the e-book and it says "Unknown Permission Error".

I am trying to get ADE to authorize my MacBook (Monterey). Installed ADE 4.5, clicked "authorize this computer" , then it takes forever (computer looks like KITT with that moving light...). After a very long time it claims that there was a connection problem and try again later.I have really good internet, computer fully updated.Tried 3.0; won't work on MontereyTried de-installing re-installingTried chatting with customer service, no answer what so ever, and got told that Adobe doesnt provide costumerservice on ADE...Searching this community hasn't got me the answer Has anyone any idea?(My ADE is in Dutch, so if you can describe what to do, I think I can work it out from English to Dutch, or from German or French) Thanks!

Your authorization file will need to be manually deleted. You need to delete out a few registry keys to clear the activation for ADE. You must have administration authority. On Windows it can be found here:Open Windows Registry by using the command prompt and typing 'regedit' or by opening the start menu and searching for 'regedit'. Search for the following folder:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept\Activation The 'Activation' folder can be entirely deleted. On Mac it can be found here:In Finder, find the 'Go' option on the menu bar and click 'Go to folder' and type the following in:~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions/ Delete the activation.dat file within the 'Digital Editions' folder. Restart ADE and it should be deactivated at this point. You should be good to sign back in.

On the new Mac Book Air, M1, Big Sur the authorization of ADE 4.5.11 is not possible. I cannot read the books of my library and i cannot dowload new books. What could I do?

It appears that since upgrading to Mac OS Monterey (and a few times prior to this as well), ADE is completely broken, and not truly authorising my e-reader (Kobo Glo HD). Even though the e-reader is authorised according to ADE and the e-reader itself, and being able to open books within ADE on the mac, whenever I try and open the actual book on my e-reader, it says that the device isn't authorised. ADE 4.5 is the only version which appears to work with Monterey, with version 3.0 not supported (and a link for it being quite difficult to find). All other options have been exhausted, including deleting and reinstalling, de- and re-authorising, and more. This seems to be a common problem for many others, which is an Adobe issue, not a Kobo or Apple issue.

Hi, Why is digital editions 4,5 sluggishly slow when scrolling through a book? When the book is set to "Fit page" the text is too small to read but not as slow to scroll. However, when changed to an adequate size for reading eg. "fit width", the scrolling is so frustratingly slow I can barely force myself to read the text. The app just keeps loading and loading. I need help in how to fix this. 

I bought a book with an acsm file and opened it with ADE. I need the book as a PDF file, to save it and edit it on my PC. So on my mac, when I go to documents > digital editions, there is an ".indb.pdf" but when I try to open it in Preview it says:The file “XX.indb.pdf” could not be opened.And I know I can open it via ADE, but I need it as a regular PDF.I hope anyone can help 🙂

Although the Tech Spec page lists macOS v10.8 as the minimum, I tried running on macOS v10.9 with partial success.  The menubar commands are disabled, but right-clicking on an eBook allows just enough function to read.  Also, navigation is possible only via dragging the scrollbar handle or the trackpad scrolling gesture.  I also tried on macOS v10.12 where all functions seem to be enabled.Does anyone happen to know the precise minimum macOS version where all functions work?  Should all functions work on macOS v10.8?  Can Adobe produce software up to the minimum spec they advertise?
