I hit an odd loading bug today ... this screen should only show on the first ever boot of Dimension which for me was a while back and I refuse to watch the bs vid but thats another storywhen i bypassed the screen by opening an old Dn file it failed to load... just locking up forever and I had to goto the task bar and give it the 3 fingersthen when I rebooted Dimension it did load but poped its resource screen, saying my system didn't have good ram... sure enough Microsoft Teams was hiding in the task bar sucking up all the ram and killing this spy bot allows me to work Dimension againjust fyi for others having issues on min spec systems... Microsoft teams is legial spyware which installs itself (without notice) on systems running Office and it can be a pain because it sucks upto 3rd of your system ram and needs a powershell script (which Microsoft gives you for free) to stop it reinstalling correct
Hi all, quick question about decal fillingSo i have a plane thats 14mm by 16 mm.I want to fill that plane with an image that is also 14mm by 16mm.When i place the decal the image loses its proportions and becomes distorted. Now i have to manually put it back in the correct proportion. If i use the fill instead of decal function it gets even worse when the whole thing just stretched way beyond the full plane.Any one knows how to easily fill 1 plane?Thank youMessage was edited by: Sahil Chawla
In our production workflow here at work, we want to be able to move .obj files from Autocad Inventor to Adobe Dimension and vice versa. However, when I export an .obj file from Dn 2.3, it creates an unrecognizable, and unusable version of the Dn file. This is the case regardless of whether I export a scene, or selected models. Even a very simple file. Same result. As an example, here is a screenshot of a simple scene, comprised of 4 cubes:Here is a screenshot of that scene, exported as an obj:And here is the .obj, imported into the original Dn file. You can see it picks up the materials data, otherwise, it's useless:Has anyone else experienced this?Message was edited by: Sahil Chawla
Hi all,I would like to put a seamless artwork (360° printed) on an object (tube) but for some reason no matter what object I use, there is stil a small "unprinted" part on the surface. Is there any way you can do a mockup where the uploaded artwork covers the whole surface of the object?Message was edited by: Sahil Chawla
I have a photo of a jar already and I want to create the label to add to it. I can't find a way to hide the object in Dimension and only show the label. Is this possible?

I understand how you can match a background to a 3D file to make a rendering but man, is it a hassle for the purpose I use it for! I just realised that in my line of work I basically have to do the exact opposite: I render solar panel fields in their landscapes. The context is the important part and the 3D render has to fit within that context. The navigation tools don't make any sense for example as (accidental) scolling messes up the positioning of my 3D object in relation to the background. There's one simple fix that I probably just overlooked: locking the grid once it's matched to the background. Is there a way to do that in Dimension?
I cannot see a preview image of my dimension project when I open finder in mac. This can be a long and confusing process to open the correct folder when I can only see a long list of dimension icons when I open finder. I wonder if anyone can help me with this one please? Many thanks in advance.
I don' understand the render process image of Dimension.I define my artwork with 7913px x 11457px (the dimension of a poster with 67cm x 97cm by 300dpi) as you can check it on images below:When I render the image it gives me a different size rendered image:How to correct this problem? Anyone?
I've been a working graphic designer for about 15 years now. One of my client has asked me if I do renderings. Apparently, its hell getting them done. Can I do those with DIMENSION? It seems like I should be able to but I haven't seen any examples. All advice and perspectives appreciated!
Has anyone else observed a massive change with render times following update 2.3? A render that previously took nearly 40 hours to render completed in less than 3 hours after update 2.3. I assumed that I must have overlooked a quality or resolution setting to see such a huge difference, but render settings are unchanged for me. It doesn't appear the GPU is assisting with the render, either. Has anyone else noticed significant improvements? Or am I losing my marbles?
Hi. Does someone know what does the "Reset camera" option? I can't see a difference with the Frame All option.
I have asked a freelancer to create an .stl file from an object so I can create it as a model in DN, he instead sent me a DN file, can I save it as a model ? or i need to receive it in .obj or .stl to to do so?
I know I can drag from my Library, but it sounded like there is another way to import Illustrator files.I can't seem to find the correct way to do this... any help appreciated.
Hi guys,Simple question that I hope has a simple answer. I have a 2019 i5 Imac with a Radeon Pro 570x, only rocking 8gb of Memory.Trying to render an image I created of some rainbow candy I created in Dimension. When I try to render my iMac freezes causing me to restart. Even when I try rendering in the cloud my computer is slow as. Would the lack of decent memory be the problem here?
Hi all,I'm rendering a Adobe Dimension comp that has a blurred background and a 3d object with the label added. Dimension keeps blurring the packaging (the image is 1920 px wide) even though the preview looks fine.Any ideas on how to fix this? I tried exporting as a PNG and PSD and I'm getting the same result. Thanks![Here is the list of all Adobe forums... https://forums.adobe.com/welcome][Moved from generic Cloud/Setup forum to the specific Program forum... Hi,we really enjoy the easy usage of Adobe Dimension. But there are some very basic requierements, to use this tool in a good way.In November 2018, Adobe annouced the implementation of the RTX support. Almost 8 month later, there is still no RTX support, neither ANY GPU Support. The complete calculation is 100% Based...in 2019!Also, we have no way to export created Objects to render them in a tool wich support batch rendering. We can prepare an image, wait 10mins(on a Ryzen Threadripper 2950X) and then do the next image. Why is there no batch option. We have always the same object and have to change just the label, but have to do this manually over and over again. Please adobe, do you habe any idea when those function will be implemented? We are using the Pre-Release 2.3 Version currently, Cloud Rendering is way slower than our current machine and we are wasting too much time of our employees.Really looking forwarsRegards
Hey everyone!I'm a texture artist, using Substance Designer to make tileable and parametric materials. Now that you can use these in Adobe Dimension I am interested in hearing what kind of materials would be useful for designers to have.I'd love to hear from some designers who are using Dimension privately or professionally. Do you need more materials? So you get a sense of what's possible, here's a sample of the kind of materials I would make for games:[repaired the link ussnorway]
Hi. There is some way to feather the shadows in Dimension? I'm working with the box and I want a shadow similar to the cup.
I'm making a pallet mockup rendering and some of the packaging designs have changed. Is there a way to change multiple decals at one time instead of going into each object and replacing the image?

I've created a food bag model, which I want to be made from transparent plastic, so I applied the plastic material to the model and set the transparency. However when I apply the image to the model, the image also becomes transparent. I want the image to be 100% solid, since it's printed on the plastic, not part of the plastic. Any idea how I can fix this?
Hi,I use Dimensions to place label art onto honey pots. The problem I am having is no matter how big I make the canvas I get a very poor result with stepped edges on the text once rendered.Does anyone have a fix to this or is it a current limitation of the software that everything is actually only rendering at a very low res? I have tried playing with the Viewport anti aliasing also and no difference. Screenshots attached.[Pictures removed because the author did not have customer permission... Mod]
I was hoping to use Dimensions to render health supplement products.I paid for a decent 3d bottle from the Creative stock. (Wish someone would design more bottle types )The issue is having is when i import the high rez product label, and do the render, the text on the rendered image is not quite sharp enough. The text is quite readable, but i wish it were sharper, especially for the supplement facts panel with all the ingredients.Any suggestions? Or is this a limitation of the software?
I don't understand why the label I've applied on my model keeps turning out crooked and with a large gap.
