Dreamweaver

Hi Guys, Im working on an email template for mailchimp, but in the VIEW> Split > Code-Design view the Headlines are not viewing correctly. The headline text is red and has appeared as GD(at)CDQ as the snapshot enclosed. (It actually just says HEADER in the live view which is correct) Anyone know why this is happening? Appreciate the help.  

Salutations Everyone,I had DW 2017 or somewhere around that date and I uploaded the newest version.I opened and all my settings where switch to foreign gibirish to me today.If this has been a subject of the past, please forward the link.If not, help needed to get my old screen back.I use to open a html page and split it, oon the design part - highlight some wordsin the code  section, that aea would highlight as wellat the very bottom - I could choose "_blank", the hyper link address, oh and headline font size and type and some other cool stuff.In the begining Adobe would would show a window saying my original settings are on line and i could retrieve them.That does not show anymore and I'm lost. Some help please, LIONELL 

How do I configure DW to save backups of files, so I can rollback to a previous version of any file (HTML, CSS etc.)? I don't see anything in preferences.

I have developed a small webpage to test and when I do it gives me the Save All Files Error. I have hit the save all files feature several times and do have a site completed. There are no red lines in any of the code. Any help is appreciated. Mark

I am frustrated because I used to drag a local file into a table and it would take five seconds and I was done. The frustration extends past that, but let's focus on that. Tables with hyperlinks have gotten super cumbersome. It's as if I have gotten a new editor with few things in common with the previous one. I am doing my best to do work with a complicated editor to do something very simple.  It seeems the world has slipped away from me.  Where do I get continuing education on differences between the old Dreamweaver (CS5-2018) and the new one (2020).  Is there any info on how to recover, doing things that were so easy during some of my 10 years of Dreamweaver? I have Catalina so I think I need to cope in a recent Dreamweaver.In particular, here are the things make my life worse:1. I cannot drag a file over to a Table in design mode to make it into a hyperlink, without multiple steps in the HTML.2. DW will not update a description in the <a> field, typed

Novice Builder Just Starting.Trying to follow the Bayside tutorial and I can't find the Local Site Folder fields toward the begining. When I first brought up the application, it was there as I tried to build my first site. I deleted the software and reinstalled and its no where to be found. Any help so appreciatied. Mark

Hey guys, I am having a problem with a website, and i am truly a Dreamweaver begginer. My issue is that my work has online contest, and Secondstreet.com host the contest. I design a page wrap that goes around the contest. In the past I have had no issues, but recently they changed their website to HTTPS, and i have always designed in HTTP....Is there a easy way to save my Dreamweaver documents to be compatiable with HTTPS. I lot of times, i pick up old shells and reuse them, so i am hoping this is a simple fix. An guidence would be appreciated. Thank you.

Dreamweaver uploaded the text to the hosting site but not the images. How do I get the images to Dreamhost, the hosting server.   [Edited by moderator.]

I am trying to wrap text around an image so that it wraps next to the image and below the image. This is especially desired for responsiveness \ resizing pages. Here is how one of the standard temaplates appears on a wide screen:When the page shrinks, it changes to this:But, as the screen shrinks, I want the text to wrap beside AND across, under the image: I cannot find an example of this behavious in any of the templates. Surely it can be done?Any help appreciated.Sean

I have installed Dreamweaver but when I want to activate the trial I get the message that there was something wrong. 

I am trying to add HTML5 to Dreamweaver CS5.5. When I click install on the Extension Manager it asks for the file name. I need to know the .zxp file name before I can install HTML to Dreamweaver. Does anybody know?

Recently I've been exploring some more designer friendly options in this space for upcoming projects and decided to give Dreamweaver another look after not using it in many years. I have to say, I'm extreamly underwelmed. It's like Adobe sucked all the joy out of the product. Is it functional? Sure. Can you build a site with it? I guess but Adobe is making me not want to with this product. The interface has never been all that great but now it is even more cludgy and confusing, while feeling bloated and slow. I really don't know who this app is targeting, designers or developers? Regardless, they are most certainly missing the boat on both accounts. I would hope that someone over there is looking at tools like Webflow or Blocs, both of which are doing some intresting things in regards to layout. Heck, even some of the wordpress editors like Elementor and CSS Hero are worth a gander. These tools are not only functional but at least, for me, they bring back that since of wonder joy that

Hi, im testimg the last version of dreamweaver on a mac with the last version of the osx (catalina last one) and the password of the sites does not save.I tryed all the solutions that you inform before but no one works. Any ideas to solve it????

I have written php pages which allow an editor to upload files to the host and to view the files in a selected folder and to copy, move, or delete individual files.  This obviously gives a great deal of power to the user.  Right now I'M using them for convenience.  I did this so that when I am no longer maintaining a non-profit site that the board can designate someone else to maintain the site until they come up with an alternative. In the meantime this is a big risk.  I have to have the php files in the public_html directory because all the file functions need to start from the root.  Is there any suggestion as to how I can make sure that no one other than someone given the authority can accesss these functions?  I can certainly require a secure login, but is it possible to mark files as hidden?   Your advice is always appreciated.

I am using an old version of Dreamweaver where I need to use Flashplayer. But Flashplayer is no longer available. What other software is compatible with Dreamweaver CS5?   [Topic edited by moderator for clarity.]

How do I center my page in Dreamweaver? I know you probably use some type of HTML or CSS code to center the page. I am using a basic template but also have an HTML and CSS coded website I am working on as well. Any help would be much appreciated!! 

Two things: Would it be possible for DreamWeaver to mark as errors those special characters that will not render correctly in modern browsers? As the moment my work flow involves uploading a page, checking for errors, finding those effors on the DW file, correcting and then re-uploading.  Secondly, why is the DW special character screen a drop-menu, sub-menu, sub-menu away and then so limited? Thanks!

I'm a beginner 😩I'm trying to cut and paste, but it will not allow me. I'm trying to delete/paste in the lines that look like the image below, but it won't allow me. I can not remove any of the sections that look like this from my page.I can cut/paste yhe informtion below. Does t have something to do with the color?

How do you set what thumbnail always appears whenever you post your homepage link in social media?

I understand that if I want to emphasize certain words in a paragraph, I should use an inline element like <strong>, <em> etc., rather than insert a <style> in the HTML section\file. But if I want to control the effect of these elements, how do I custom format them in CSS? Can I define and format my own span-elements? 

For a beginner to HTML and Dreamweaver: can anyone recommend some tutorials, videos or user guides for using Bootstrap in Dreamweaver?Sean

I have an existing web site that has swf files which are no longer supported. I have downloaded all the files from the site, and am trying to replace. I have tried adobe animate, and created a new swf file? byt it only plays in animate. When I try to drag it ibto DW it does go, or if I double click, it cannot be opened in ms edgr browser. I am stumped, and frustrated. Any suggestions as to how to fix this, and any good instruction manuals. Mine are to old.Thxmrgrad.com is site trying to repair
