Dreamweaver

I was using Dreamweaver for many years to create and modify my website.  I recently upgraded my Mac OS to Big Sur only to learn that my old version of DW no longer works.  It only shows the html code page, which is nearly useless to me since I barely know how to write code.  I always relied on the drag and drop/ WYSIWYG feature in DW. Suffice it to say I do not plan to upgrade DW and have discontinued using Adobe products.  Is there any way, or any other software I could use to open the DW files and see them as I would in DW without having to soley rely on my scant knowledge of html code?

Hi everyone,Starting to learn Adobe DreamWeaver, I was following a tutorial on how to manage fonts but can't find the Adobe Fonts on the 'Manage Fonts' panel. Going through the DW User Guide, the Manage Fonts panel is also different from the one in my software.  I read Adobe discontinued the Adobe Wedge Web Fonts, so how do I manage Adobe Fonts now? Through the Custom Font Stacks?... Maybe the DW User Guide should be updated?

I'm a pretty basic user of Dreamweaver so potentially this is something simple but I couldn't find any references on the internet of similar issues.  Issue I'm having is Dreamweaver keeps warning me "There is a syntax error on line xx.  Code hinting may not work until you fix this error." I've used my own examples and pasted directly from W3School thinking, "hey maybe you're tired and class is actually spelled calss in this universe." to no avail. More of an annoyance than a show stopper as the code does execute as expected.  My primary annoyance is the loss of code hinting as I'm no keyboard superstar  😄 Version: CS6 version 12.0 Build 5861Platform: Windows 11 Version 23H2Steps to reproduce:  type class within <script></script> tags.  Tried both HTML and Javascript files.   

Hi, when I update an HTM file in dreamweaver, the files modified date is wrongHere's the modified date as shown through the Mac Finder Here's the modified date as shown through the Dreamweaver File Panel This didn't happen until the update today.Any thoughts on a fix?

I have the latest version via CS.But I dont think it's been updated in 2 years, and defintely no major new releases. Is this a dead duck?Any good applications to move over to?Been a staunch user since the old Macromedia days... Thanks  

Hi,Since the last update (I believe as this started recently), if I rename a file in Dreamweaver interface, or retype the link inside html code, sometimes, a red dot appears in front of the link, like this:If I copy/paste it, red dot will not show up, but using arrows will show I need to hit it twice to pass that spot, so the character is there, whatever that is. It's only visible in the form of that dot.Why does this happen?I use iMac, latest High Sierra.Thank you

I'm on Windows 10.  I have the current version of Dreamweaver via Creative Cloud.  I haven't used DW for a few months.  The splash screen comes up and it just hour glasses. Everything is updated.  I've tried rebooting a couple of times.  There's plenty of RAM and space on the drives. Any thoughts on how I might resolve this please?

With an image embedded on my page, I click to select it.  The image map tools should appear but they do not.  Only when I click into the html code of the image, in the Code pane, do the tools appear in the Properties palette.  However, even though that have appeared, all I can do is name the image map.  The various drawing tools cannot be selected.  Clicking on one has no effect at all and the pointer tool remains selected.  In effect, it's impossible to actually create an image map/hotspot.Dreamweaver 21.3.Below, you can see that I have the image selected in the Design view, but the image map tools are not present.Am I missing something? After I click inside the image HTML, you can see that the image map tool cannot be selected.  The pointer tool never 'unselects'. 

I am a book author and began using Dreamweaver 8 to promote my books. A decade ago I began using Dreamweaver 8 and created a 7 page promotion site. Then I switched to syndicated publishing and did not update the website for 10 years. Now I have a new book manuscript and again need access, but the Dreamweaver software will no longer accept my password to link with my website.I contacted Tech Support & they no longer supported my version of Dreamweaver; however, they did provide me with a complementary version of Dreamweaver CS6. I installed the new software but am still not able to upload edited pages to my website (saclark.com).Accordingly, I am seeking help to either (1) reset my password to gain access and load my newly-edited pages, or (2) wipe all the pages and link information from my website in order to create a new account with access to the website so I can up-load  all my pages to my website. Please advize how I may proceed. I have been using Dreamweaver for a long time, and I am up to my eyeballs with Creative Cloud crashes. I want to run Dreamweaver standalone. What are the risks of uninstalling Creative Cloud. Are there any downsides to running Dreamweaver standalone? I would appreciate your wisdom, and please don't tell me about all the wonderful features of Cloud that I'll be missing. Thank you . . .

Hi, I have an old Dreamweaver version CS6 which I would need to use. I have purchased it and have a serial, but when applying the serial, the program says the serial is revokedI used the program last some 5 years ago and the serial was accepted and all was fine and there was no problem with the serial during installation. I contacted Adobe support and they suggested I ask community for help. The program installs without  problems and works fine but I could only activate the trial for 30 days.

Seems my backup drive at home is toast and the only means of the current data on my website is via a backup from Host Gator which is the hosting service I have and I've downloaded thezipped backup file. The question now is how do I reconstruct the site using Dreamweaver CS5 which I have a license using the backup file. My website is astral-imaging.comI realize I need to unzip the file but beyond that I'm lost. Getting the files in the folder structure that DW CS5 needs eludes me. I haven't done any other sites than this so my experience is basic. For now I'm posting my astronomy images on AstroBin but would like to reconstruct my site and udate with the new images.  I did find a back on a older drive that was done in 2019 but the overal structure has changed since. Is there a way for me to do so or a service that will reconstruct the site that will allow me to update as needed? As a reference point, I'm just months shy of 70 so not exactly as spry or sharpe as I use to be....

Is there an easy way to make changes to an existing Dreamweaver website created and published in 2008?  I don't want to foul anything up!  I have to remove an outdated address listed in the index file and showing on the home page.  Is there an easy way to do this from the browser, or must I resubmit the entire website file and hope that everything works out?  I haven't worked with Dreamweaver since 2008, so I'm trying to remember how everything was done at that time.  I'm working on a Mac with Big Sur and Safari.  Any help you can give me will be appreciated, and if it can't be done through the Safari browser, perhaps you can tell me what I must do to make the changes?  Thank you!

I am new to Dreamweaver.  I am a MAC user (OS Monterey v 12.6.2).  I am having NO LUCK changing the color of selected text.  Hoping someone can help!

After twenty years of frustration with Dremweaver it looks like it's time for me to find an alternative.I am an amateur historian and i create simple websites to show my hobbies and reflect my academic interests. I'm not trying to sell anything and I don't need dropdown menus. I never should have taken up with Dreamweaver in the first place. I only did it because I had the Adobe CC subscription. I'm looking for womehting else based on the following considerations:• I use a MacBook Pro• The new software doesn't have to be free• I would like to place text and images on the page without getting into floats and clears• I need to be able to handle media queries simply• I am leaning towards a code editor called NovaThat's about it.Thank youKevin BurkeCambridge, Massachusetts

Hello.I am trying to create a dropdown menu in Dreamweaver but it is not dropping down! Please help of you can. I am using Dreamweaver 21.3 on a MacBook Pro with OS Sonoma 14.0. From the "Bootstrap Components" tab I am inserting a "Nav Bar fixed to top". The other nav elements seem to be working OK but the dropdown menu is not showing. Here is my code below. When I mouse over a link to an image in code view, a popup displays the image.WHile this may seem like a cool idea and i can see why someone may like it, having the image block the underlying codemakes it much slower to edit that code. How can I turn this #$%^&* obnoxious feature off?

Hi If I add role = "presentation" to a section where a class is included and that class's CSS has a background image where I want to ensure it's marked up as 'decorative', how can I be sure it's not applying to all content within that section? How do I pin point that it's only applicable to the background image? And, are there any options per WCAG for defining this directly within the CSS to ensure specificity? <section class="bgPattern" role="presentation"> Thanks.   

Hi there!Im new to dreamweaver and wondered two things: 1. do you need to allow DW access to your documents and is there any negative implications of doing so?2. can using the software ever affect the actual computer you are using (in terms of coding as a beginner etc)- I assume all actions I make are secure in the application? many thanks!Julia
