Dreamweaver

It began today, I have not updated anything this month. I don't know that is going on. A while back I was told that my drive could be failing so I replaced it, but today for no reason when I tried to use "find and replace" in dreamweaver it suddenly crashes. I am using macOS sierra, and the latest version of dreamwever.

My issue is i started importing my existing site onto my local computer and dreamweaver quit "unexpectedly". When I start importing again will dreamweaver re-import or take up where it left off?

When I first downloaded the new update of Dreamweaver CC it offered a setup that allowed the user to choose that background color of the document work space. I set it at black but am now wanting to change it to a lighter shade. How is the done I have checked the preferences and can not find anything.Thanks Jim Zeller

Dreamweaver CC 2017 won't start up the first several attempts on my MacBook Pro OS 10.11.6. Very frustrating. Click on the icon in the dock; the icon jumps up and down several times then nothing happens. Finally, after 5–10 minutes of this, it finally loads. Any ideas out there?

It was really useful to have wrapping snippets and to be able to call them with a shortcut. With new trigger function, this can't work, and the ability to customize shortcuts for snippets was really useful. I think as it is something that can be customized on user's will, there's no need to remove them from DW and they could come back. Hope you consider this!

I need to edit a website that was built a couple of years ago. However, when I try to update the css file from scss I get the result. Why do files show on the orphans list when they do not exist?

Can anybody tell me why whether previewing or once uploaded  why on desktop I cant see an image in Chrome? If I use Chrome on my phone I see the image. The page in question is stationery designs.This is the image that should be seen multiple time across the page and two rows in full screen viewOn internet explorer and edge it previews as it should be and I have tried internet explorer live and it can be seen as should be.I would appreciate somebody telling me what I have missed.Liz

Hi guys,So I have just finished my 2nd year computer science degree and will be going to Uni in September to move on to honors. So anyway I have been learning DW and website design for the past 6 months and have just completed my "Project" website, this website is for a local childrens nursery. I have a few questions really which I am sure are really obvious, but I have not learned everything as yet and I am certainly not a pro.So anyway, as I said I finished the website for the nursery, my questions are pretty simple I think. Firstly the website has quite a few pages and it includes a Login feature for admins and parents. Now I am removing the Login feature completely as it just isn't needed for this nursery (I included some things just to cover all bases with the grades). So anyway, the website has been developed using a USB Pendrive and Xampp MysQL with Dreamweaver. So the pendrive acts as the local storage. So what I need to know is, I have added some images for the gallery page on

Upgraded to CC2017.5 and I can no longer save my username password in site manager.  I have about 200 sites that I maintain and it is a pain to have the username/password every time including when I just want to see the remote server.  Tried checking and iun-checking the "Save" box but alas, doesn't have an effect?  Any clues would be appreciated!

I selected that dependent files should get updated/downloaded from the server to my local computer. But this does not seem to work properly, or maybe I am missing something. Because always when I edit for example a dependent JavaScript and upload it, DW tells me that the script is not up-to-date and would overwrite the latest version on the server!

When I send an HTML file to the server via Dreamweaver FTP, it results on all the code being on one single line!I can look at it in Safari, Firefox, Chrome and on the servers editor and it all looks the same.While the code does function it is not possible to read the code on the server as the whole page is one line of HTML (i.e. the line numbers on the local server code disappears and becomes line #1 on the remote server)To get the server code to look like HTML code with line numbers, etc, I have to use a separate FTP program to send it to the server.Is there a setting somewhere I am missing?

Hello,Often times I need to spend lots of time with Firebug to identify the class selectors responsible for some display issues, for example I have a page that is 15px wider than it should be and so the browser displays the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom.  http://prntscr.com/fraoh6Link here: Supreme - Find a DealerI was able to fix most of them by selecting the item within Dreamweaver and then creating a specific style for that combo selector but is that the best way or is there a better way or best practice I should adopt instead? I've got for all the divs:* {box-sizing: border-box;}So I'm guessing it's some embedded div that's causing the extra width but I'm trying to learn the best way to identify and fix this issue.  Thanks for your help.Brandon

This may be a combination of the cat walking across the key board and my lack of knowledge. One of the menu windows that was inside the the main window is now loose. The one with Properties/Files/Browser Comparability/... I also seemed to have made the "file" tab on that menu bar disappear. I have played with creating a combination of css grid and flexbox layouts that are acceptable across browsers and devices, even if they do not have support for css grids yet.I have already done the standard types of layout, such as equal height 3 column, header and footer, and the standard product/detail type of layout, plus the usual blog and top/side fly-out menu layouts. What I am looking for now is something different, that I could try and convert to grid/flexbox, and if possible use just html/css for most items that would often be done via javascript.To this end does anyone have any suggestions as to layouts or page components, that they think would not convert to grid/flexbox or just html/css for a component?Alternatively a link to an interesting design concept, or effect would also be welcome. It does not matter if the layout is in a book, (that I can view on-line) a pdf document, or whatever, just so long as I can see it, (you can even post an image).On an off-topic note -css @

Hi guys, so I have created 2 website now for University, the first one was a computer hardware website and was for a made up company, with that one I passed with highest marks, although I did lose a few marks for things like when clicking the send button on a contact form getting it to actually send an email. Now I am almost finished my 2nd website and this one is for my wife's children's nursery and they want to actually use it once it is done. So anyway I am about 90 percent finished but, I can not for the life of me work out how to get it to send an email. At the moment the website is on a pen drive and using XAMPP and PHPMyadmin, so the pendrive is acting as the local host. Can someone please explain in simple terms what I need to do to get this to send an email to a chosen email address for me, if that is possible. PHP Linting does not appear to be working correctly in 2017.5. I have errors showing on lines that refer to variables that are not on those lines, all following lines marked with an error show the same message.

This one is quite strange.I'm mailing out a short run eshot for a client using php from my server. If I use as the $headers From: tommy@blah_blah.co.uk or fred@blah_blah.co.uk, practically any name prefacing the @7431982 part the email From header comes through with the tommy@blah_blah.co.uk, or fred@blah_blah.co.uk, which is what I really require.HOWEVER if I change it to mark, as below, which is the clients name/email address it arrive as just Mark the name has been capped up and the @9345664.co.uk removed???$headers  = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n";$headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n";$headers .= "From: mark@blah_blah.co.uk";What gives?I mean if the guys name was anything but mark it seems to work.

In it's parent template I have several editable regions, one of them is for the document title:<title><!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="title" -->DnD-Production<!-- InstanceEndEditable --></title>I am trying to add an editable text attribute in the nested template, in a "submit" form, which is near the bottom of my docBefore:<input name="orderSubject" type="hidden" value="formValue" />I use the editable tag attribute:after:<input name="orderSubject" type="hidden" value="@@(submitValue)@@" />The problem is that it also places the TemplateParam in the middle of the "title" editable region.<title><!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="title" -->DnD-Production<!-- TemplateParam name="submitValue" type="text" value="formValue" --><!-- InstanceEndEditable --></title>This causes a problem because when i try to update descendant pages i get a message  that the "title" region is unresolvedIs this normal

Have been using FileZilla as a stopgap while dealing with other problems. Believe I'm well along toward resolving most of those; would now like to make sure D-W is putting files to server when saved and phase out reliance on FileZilla for this purpose if possible.If one of you could show me where this setting is made, I would be grateful.Best,jwc
