Dreamweaver

I bought and started using Dreamweaver way back in 2003. It was a pleasure to work with. I upgraded to MX then again to CS3. Still was a great tool. My old computer had WIN 8.1 on it - which MS quit support for in Jan - so I bought a new computer. I tried to load the CS3 from the disks but Adobe told me there was no longer support for it. So I got DW 2021 and HATE IT. It's nothing like the very usable original program: DW, MX, CS3. This new version, 2021, is totally unfamiliar and totally difficult to do anything with. Very disappointed! I want to cancel the subscription but need to get the CS3 onto my new computer ... any suggestions?

I have a .php file in Dreamweaver CC called challenge.php that will not render in live view. It works fine in Preview and if I upload it and look at it in a browser it is also working perfectly. If I just copy it to a new file name like challengetest.php everything works fine even in Live View. I then delete the original file in the Files panel and then save the current working file to the old file name the file with the original file name will again not render in Live View. It's as is that original file name is cached somewhere. I've deleted the Dreamweaver cache in the appdata but nothing seems to help. Any ideas?

You know that template area from .dwt file are grayed out in code view.I am creating specification document to instruct to the system programmer where is the template area. I print out html files of our website from DW code view, and past it to adobe XD to make specification sheets.The problem is that template area are not clear in the printed file because the grayed out templete area are converted to normal text color after pdf printing.Are there any way to achive my goal?

Hi, apologies if already covered sometime.Following an Adobe tutorial it mentions scanning a QR code with my iPhone to see the responsive web page that I am creating. My panel is blank. No QR code or browsers listed. I can see both browsers listed in preferences. I can view in a browser and see it change if I alter the width of the screen. I hope that it is still possible to see on different devices in real time.Ta muchly.Tom  

Hi Guys, I am new to designing secure websites. I am in the process of designing a website in Dreamweaver.  I have a “GeoTrust” ssl certificate correctly installed on my server.  I have not yet published the website as I am still designing it.  I have embedded the code necessary for the GeoTrust “seal” to display on my website.  The seal is not displaying in Dreamweaver, will the seal only display on my website once I have published it  I also have purchased “SiteLock” – the SiteLock seal is displaying in Dreamweaver, but not the GeoTrust seal.  Appreciate your feedback. I want a slightly different template than what is available when I choose to create a new document under 'started templates' - how can I get more templates? Or how can I create my own? Must be responsive.

Hello Community,I added several new files in my Site but Git did not recognize them. They were not displayed green in the git file view. I coud not add or commit them. First I tried to delte the index.lock file in the git folder. This did not help. Afterwards I staged the files via add through the Git Konsole (Terminal). Git status shows, that they are staged. But Dreamweaver does not show this. The File names are still not colored in the Panel.I would be thankful for any help. Best regards,Daniel 

Hello all!We have this Informative Website, entirely custom, mainly in .PHP with animations, CSS, JS queries, some video iFrame embeds, etc. and now many things go wrong with it, because it's getting fairly old... I guess...? 1. the 'S3Sliders' disappear in Win 8.1, 10 & 11, but are still good in Win 7, and older I presume...2. the smooth, sub menu dropdowns, same story... They can't be viewed, only in Win 7...!3. obviously, the site is not responsive, apart from offering a slide bar at the bottom, to pan horizontally...4. my exact version of Dreamweaver is Version 12,  build 5861... I just don't like CC at the moment. If that makes sense to some of you.5. I am not the original webmaster or dev. for the site, but took over 2-3 years after its creation, in 2011...6. I created this code using Word. In word it is aligned by equal signs, but as is clear, the alignment disappears when I clip and paste it.  What can I do to align this when I drop the MathXML into my Dreamweaver HTML?  Thanks.

Its Feb 2023 and I am getting the same error.  "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. User limit reached or not authorized to make the connection due to local firewall blocking FTP data."  Latest OS, just transferred everything to a new computer, so ....  ANybody find a solution between 2017 and 2023 to this?

Hi folks.Not so much a problem as an irritation.I have my Dreamweaver Interface on light grey.When I highlight the start of a div the corresponding closing /div is also highlighted, trouble is the highlight is very faint.I’ve looked at the highlights section in preferencesto try and change this but it doesn't seem obvious to me.Does anyone know if it's possible to change this highlighting colour only?

After updating from DW 20, this new build is just sooooo slow. Everything I do takes between 5 and 15 seconds to complete.Often times when I open a new file, switch tabs, or save a file, it takes more than 1 minute. I have tried the solutions in this thread and they didn't work.I do NOT have cache enabled and I have deleted the REGEDIT temp file list folder. There are no longer any options to change memory preferences and I wonder if that's the problem. Why would Adobe remove this? I have to use this app for work, but I'm about a week away from quitting and downloading Sublime text or something. System specs:Windows 1132GB Ram11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11850H @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHzIntel UHD graphics card NVIDIA RTX A3000 Laptop GPU This is a brand new laptop and everything is faster except for Adobe products. I have similar issues with Photoshop, and Premiere Pro, and After Effects. But I primarily use Dreamweaver.

All Creative Cloud applications have been updated to version 2023, however with DW this is not the case. What is the future of the program?

I have a historical WWII website and have been using Adobe Expression Web 4 for many years.  The website is nothing fancy. I don't sell anything or require any user accounts or log in.  I mostly just index and post historical documents.  Expression Web 4 works fine with older versions of Windows, up until Windows 11.  It does "sort of" work on Windows 11, but if you try to add a link (a feature I frequently use) Expressions Web just shuts down.  Planning ahead for the day when Expressions Web 4 stops working altogether, I'm looking for another webpage editing/building program. Ideally, I would like something easy to use without a huge learning curve. When creating new webpages, I basically just edit existing web pages and add new text and links.  I would appreciate either suggestions on what program to buy - or if there is a way to get Expression Web 4 to work with Windows 11.  Here is a link to my website so you can get an idea of what I need.&n
