Dreamweaver

I was trying to ask a question related to HTML formatting, but I received the message our post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body.Can someone explain how I should format my question properly? I was trying to include HTML code, but it seems to be removed automatically. Should I use backticks or code blocks?Also, I’m facing an issue where my <div> structure doesn’t align correctly in Dreamweaver. How can I describe it without the post getting rejected?Thanks for your help.

I am so frustrated, have not used Dreamweaver for a couple of years. I am now trying to use it again to build a website. It is part of my programs I pay for monthly. It does not even open one page!

I have been using Dreamweaver for more than 20 years and have over 2,000 webpages, all using templates. Suddenly, as all templates are present in the root directly and show up in the Files window, they do not show up in the Assets window anymore. I had DreamWeaver 2021 but uninstalled and reinstalled "DreamWeaver 2025", but it seems that the only thing that has changed is the copyright note on the startup. Does anyone have this problem with the unusable templates?

The only way I can test some of my links (stripe for instance) in my dreamweaver page is to open the page directly from the folder with chrome. Live view doesn't open any links and "Preview in browser, chrome" sometimes doesn't open them either. Also under preferences, there is no "Preview in browser" item on the left hand side. What can I do to make a web building software operate href links. Thanks

My nav bar on my website is not displaying correctly.  How do I expand the text?

Hi, using Adobe Dreamweaver 21.5 Build 15662.I work on an Intel 1.70 GHz laptop with 16 GB RAM. Windows 11 Enterprise Version 24H2Trigger Keys no longer work on first entry. The trigger key word, when entered in code, displays in design view and the curser jumps over to design view also. I have to click back into code view and enter it again and it will then enter the code.Secondly, there is a major delay in entering Targets for URL's.Also, when adding text into the <title> tag in code view, it shows up in design view as an <h1> heading, along with the curser. I have to click back into code view, similar to the trigger key issue.Thanks.

Hello All,I was on the phone with GoDaddy for a couple of hours. I purhased hosting for a site that I built, but I am not able to connect by ftp and upload. Specifically, Go Daddy has said that it needs to upload to the public_html folder that is available as I witnessed on the cpanel. However, no matter how variations of public_html I put into the site seteup, it will not connect. The only way it connects is when I put in a /. But then, when I look at the remote server menu in DW, I don't see any of the files and folders I could see in cpanel including public_html. Anyone know how to fix this?

I am consistently seeing the dreaded Red X, but when I click on it, I get nothing to check or correct. Any clues on why this is happening?

I have this page I'm working on: https://www.bassett.net/pages/david.shtml - yes I know I need to redo my website to make it responsive, but no time at preset. What I want to do, is to have the items under each headline be collapsd unless they click on a plus or arrow to open the content. Example of what I have in mind: https://liquiddeath.com/pages/faq I tried following along https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgqbbg3EW7Q, that uses https://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_js_accordion.asp, but had issues on exactly where the segments of code would go, in relation to the code already there. Is it even possible when using a page with shtml? I have a vague memory from year ago that there was a way to have my interior part of the page pull in an htm, but I'm not sure if it's my imagination or not. I WAS able to make an htm/html that worked from the YouTube. I'm using Dreamweaver 21.4 and Windows 10.

Dreamweaver really needs to come into the 21st Century. I created an arrow function, and Dreamweaver is saying that it's a "Syntax error".  Please see attached image. The function works, there is no syntax error.  Please fix this.

I have a dream that Adobe developed Dreamwear into a better app. What would this app have for features? First and foremost, all the features that are included in the current DW, but significantly updated and backwards compatible.New features built-in server side type WAMP and XAMP, AI controlled Validators for code and links and scripts. Genuine Design features, tied to Adobe's other range. Support for both independent and team development. Automated maintenance of finished web product with the help of validators on both the development side and client side. Also good support for third-party development of plugins and addons desirable.Support for other types of web applications type Rails, Aspnet, Sinatra, Lean etc. It would be the equivalent of the Swiss Army Knife for web programs.What do you think!

Since the Update to 21.5. i get a MacOS alert when opening Dreamweaver that it wants to get access to other apps. I can't get rid of this alert even when clicking "allow".Then when I try to sync my local site with the server I am getting lots of files displayed to be "ignored" but the actual changed file are not shown to upload. I need to upload all "ignored" files and then everything works as expected again. Until the next restart of the application.I use Dreamweaver only in Developer-View to edit code and manage and sync multiple files. So went back to version 21.4.Dreamweaver 21.5, MacOS Sequoia 15.5

I've been a fan of DW since the Macromedia days, but development seems to have slowed, if not, stopped. Is this the case? Will there be any real, and proper, updates in the future? I'm thinking about updating support for PHP 8, and Bootstrap 5, along with keeping up with progress of SASS, LESS, and removal of Compass and Bourbon, both of which are no longer supported/discontinued. There are no real alternatives to DW that does everything DW does, in one place. Please Adobe, don't leave us behind.

Here is my ideal Dreamweaver interface workspace:Things of note:Fiels panel on the left, and the snippets next to that. Both are "sticky" and persistent in their space.Same with the search/properties panel on the bottom.When a file opens, it opens in the available space.This is perfect.  Two days ago, Dreamweaver forced a reinstallation on me. In the process of reinstallation, I lost my worspace saves and my snippets. With some great tech support, I was able to get my snippets restored. Now that I'm in it and working, I see that I am also missing my workspace layout that I love. I have this instead, the default Developer view: as you can see, Snippets is hiding behind Files. I can bring it forward, but then Files is hidden behind Snippets. I want both panels always visible.  Also, Properties is gone. When I bring it out, it's a floating window, which I can't stand.  With some fooling around, I can bring snippets out as a floating panel so that I can see Fi

Hi everybody,I have an issue with Dreamweaver that makes me loose a lot of time. This has been going on for many months despite DW updates. And I'm experiencing this problem on all my PCs and operating systems (Windows 10 and 11) so I think it's a bug of DW since the last versions.I used to use the "STATUS" column in Dreamweaver's Design Notes to clearly display the status of files (Draft, Revision 1, Revision 2, etc.).It doesn't work anymore (for months). Even though I associate columns with the "STATUS" Design Notes, this column always remains empty."Etat" is Status in French. As I work on thousands of file I really need to see directly in the file panel the status of each one. Thanks for your help. 

Dreamweaver isn't installing on my Mac and is  giving me error code 198 "There is a problem installing Dreamweaver". Unable to install the product. Click retry to download and install it again.  I have clicked retry, have tried installing a previous version, and have been restarting my machine between attempts. This seems to have started after my computer, a mac, was upgraded to Ventura 13.7.6 Could this be related to the problem that I'm having? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!

There have been many complaints surrounding the Dreamweaver FTP functionality. One very easy to implement imporovement would be to replace the current FTP module with LFTP.   LFTP stands out among file transfer tools for its robust command-line capabilities, multi-protocol support, and reliable error handling. Compared to GUI-based clients like FileZilla, LFTP is scriptable, making it ideal for automated transfers and batch processing. It also supports parallel transfers, mirroring, and FXP, which allows direct server-to-server transfers.   Other CLI tools like Wget and cURL focus more on HTTP-based downloads, whereas LFTP excels in FTP, SFTP, and BitTorrent transfers. Hello!I have a very annoying problem. When I start the program Shift + Enter (for line break) works, but after a while it does not. After restart of the programit it works again for a while.Any suggestions to get rid of this?Best ReagradsFredrik

This morning, I tried to open Dreamweaver. It wouldn't open. When I went to the application icon, it had turned itself into a folder. Weird.  I went to the Creative Cloud app, looked up Apps, found Dreamweaver, hit Install. Went and got a coffee. Came back, truned on Dreamweaver. Turned on just fine, but I noticed my snippets panel was set back to the default.  I have fifteen years of snippets in Dreamwever. I've had them synced with Creative Cloud so that I don't have to worry about them being lost if my machine crashes or gets wet or stolen. But they are not pulling down from Creative Cloud. Why not?  I can't find any option to toggle to tell Dreamweaver to pull down the snippets from Creative Cloud.  Here's a Dreamweaver screenshot I took a couple years ago for something else which happened to capture the snippets. I am having a weird issue on Dreamweaver v21.5 (Windows) that is severely affecting my ability to work. This did not happen in v21.4 or earlier. I typically work with two tabs open, in "Combine as Tabs" view. See attached screengrab.  Now, in order to successfully change focus, I now have to click in the "Design" pane up top, or the tiny target of the title bar. And then to edit code I have to click again, in the lower, "Code" pane. Before v21.5, I could just click on either of the two Code panes to switch focus between the two pages. Note that the pane on the left is currently the frontmost page, as indicated by the title bar being white instead of grey. BUT... counterintuitively, my cursor is actually in the page on the right (you can't see it on this screengrab, but it's on line 3), and if I type code it will appear in the page on the right. So, while I am typing, I would normally expect any keystrokes to affect the page on the right, where I am typing.
