The Lasso Tool is present within the new mask and select of 2015.5. The Polygon Tool is not provided however. Having both tools would be incredibly helpful.
The problem is that if JPG has resolution metadata e.g. 300DPI and my document has 72DPI then Photoshop makes this image smaller according DPI and Smart Object is not 1:1 and doesn't has same size as I need. "resize image during place" - unchecked"skip transform when placing" - checked
Please take a close look at the New File dialog box...It is unclear wich presets have Artboards activated and wich not. Maybe add a checkbox that is (de-)activated to make things clear Also the "Default Photoshop Size" shows Pixels/Centimeter as a resolution preset (wich is really annoying).
Please add the option to adjust the keyboard kerning/tracking ratio just like you can in Adobe Illustrator and in Indesign. The default increments are too large and should be customizable. The default is likely 20/1000em as in the other apps, but the custom adjustment to something like 5/1000em would be great for more control.
TheTransform tool does an interesting deformation to the image: it simulates aperspective. This is really great for many purposes, especially for imageediting. Unfortunately it is deeply unwanted for many others because it doesn’tpreserve the regular spacing of the image. This request is highly expected by many artists in my company as well as by the rest of the community (see: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/244/864925)Hence this suggestion: A new deformation modeshould be added to the Transform tool to allow homogeneous distortion of theimageThanks a lot for your understandingJulien
Scenario is a canvas with 3 different artboards on it. Each artboard is a separate email consisting of 2 sections (each of which would have to be sliced). It would be great to have the ability to slice specific artboards independent of one another. The current model applies a slice (#1) that seems to border the artwork bounds of the entire document. So currently all 3 boards are enveloped including any outlying artwork bounds. I suppose my idea is two-fold and address 2 issues I have with artboards. I'd like to select an artboard and have the Save For Web functionality only applied to the selected board and I'd like to apply my slices on the specific artboard without having it slice everything on the canvas in relation to that original slice. I imagine a solution would almost be like a master slice that can have secondary slices within it. I hope I was able to explain myself clearly enough.
I a big fan of Layer Comps which was introduced in Photoshop CS. Since then, features was added and I think they need to be supported in Layer Comps. Here my ideas to enhance Layer Comps : - Simplify the way to update specific Options of a Layer Comps (Visibility, Position and Style) like in the composer extension (http://www.jasonforal.com/composer/) - Adding icônes on the Layer Comp line (perhaps like layer Fx in the Layers panel...) which allow user to quickly update the Properties he want. - Right click on a multi-selection of Layer Comps, to update the wanted common Properties. - In the Video Timeline, Photoshop support also by default Visibility, Position and Style, but it support also more properties (Text Warp, Mask Position,3D Camera Position...). So that would be great to also support these Properties in the Layer Comps panel. - We could support more options, like Smart Filter, position of Timeline Playhead, the Layer Stack order, the Crop Area position and size... -
I'd like to be able to use a non-destructive curves adjustment on a mask. I do a lot of complex masking, and it would help if I could use curves to temporarily add contrast to dark or light areas of the mask. Even better would be the ability to use the luminosity of a layer group or a smart object as a layer mask.
Photoshop feature request: Align Baseline In Photoshop, the Layer > Align menu item gives you options for alignment, but it's lacking a type layers-specific option: align baselines. If you have 2+ Type layers selected, it would be super handy to be able to align them by baseline, which is very different from align:bottom (because of descenders). As it is, you have to align by bottom, and then manually adjust any type layers that contain descenders. Since type layers can be multiple lines, I envision this as being another set of three options: Align baseline(s) by top baseline Align baseline(s) by center (in-between baselines for layers with even number of lines) Align baseline(s) by bottom baseline So basically another set of Top - Middle - Bottom, but for baselines, not pixel edges.
I am always trying to do subtle moves with the transform tool that require me to zoom tightly into my image. In order to transform my object, i have to zoom back out and then grab the handles of the transform box. But i have no idea what i am doing when i am zoomed out. I need a 'temporary' transform box to manipulate while zoomed into my image. The fact that a feature like this is missing drives me nuts. Sometimes my handles are outside the canvas area of my image and i have to zoom way out on the image, increase the canvas area, transform, then zoom back in....
Command-J duplicates the entire current layer, or a portion of the current layer, if there’s a selection. It’s a great feature, and one I use daily. For some strange reason, Command-J doesn’t do anything when there’s two layers or a layer group selected. Why? I realise there’s probably a decent technical reason for this, but a context sensitive “just dupe it” command would be really handy, even if it’s actually several different methods behind the scenes. Is now a good time to mention that the Layer menu already contains an item that does most of these things, but it doesn’t have a keyboard shortcut by default? Pre-emptive strike: Assigning a keyboard shortcut wouldn’t help, as the menu item doesn’t duplicate selections within a layer (Command-J does). Image is not available
*** If this is important to you, please comment below. *** Vector Masks in Photoshop have sharper anti-aliasing than shapes created other ways. Quite often, I find that the results are too sharp. This is especially true for very small shapes, making it an issue for icon creation. It’s interesting to note that vector Smart Objects that have been pasted from Illustrator have vastly different anti-aliasing to Shape Layers that have been pasted from Illustrator. The Smart Objects are far heavier and the anti-aliasing seems posterized. I don’t really have a solution for this, except a suggestion that the Shape Layer/Vector Mask rendering is very close to ideal for me, but I’d prefer slightly softer anti-aliasing. I don’t know how this could be implemented while keeping legacy support. I guess there’s three ways it could be done: A global change or preference, where all documents get the new rendering (breaking legacy rendering), a per document setting or a per object/layer setting. The firs
Due to the fact that the correct sharpness not seen at all zooming options photos, especially on laptops monitors, it would like to make settings % when opening photos in default zoomed. This is to accelerate the process works!
Users of localized versions might need to use the english version for several reasons: following one of the many english tutorials on the web, using some of the shortcuts that are not available in other languages, use some actions that have been written in english without making sure they would not break in other languages. Some countries have multiple national languages, and companies might have employees speaking different languages using the same machine. Letting them select their language of choice would be a must! The only legal way to do it now seems to purchase another version of the software en english, install it, then use the preferences entry to change the languages. But paying a whole new license of Photoshop is quite expensive, especially if one knows that other software, also produced by Adobe, allow their users to change the langage of their interface for free: After Effects, Lightroom, Bridge are examples I know of. After effects users can switch their localized version
Currently if you want to move a selected layer (or multiple layers) from one open PSD to another, you have to: 1. Select the layer(s) in the Layers palette. 2. Click the Move Tool (if not already active). 3. Make sure the "Auto-Select" feature isn't on. 4. Click within the canvas. 5. Drag to the new PSD. While that's not a HUGE deal, I am still not sure why we can't just omit steps 2 through 4. We should be able to select the Layers in the palette, and then drag them to the new document (either the new document's canvas area, or the new document's layer palette). Speaking of the latter, with the way things currently work, when I drag layers from one PSD into another, the layers palette doesn't get updated to the document I'm currently dragging it into. If I have 5 PSDs open and they all look the exact same, but the layer structures are actually different (but I don't remember the file name), I have no way of knowing if I am in the right PSD or not. In short, the layer palette should up
Hello! I am attempting to slice a sprite sheet into evenly spaced sections so I could export them all as individual, identically sized pngs. I am trying to divide a 2000 px by 3400 px png into 8 rows and 17 columns. Photoshop was able to divide them horizontally into 17 slices, but when I tryto divide vertically into 8 slices, Photoshop refuses to divide it into morethan 5 columns. Similarly, if I first tell it to divide vertically into 8, itrefuses to divide into more than 12 rows. Additionally, Photoshop slows to a crawl when I open up the divide slice windowthe second time after applying, and when it finally opens the window, there areslice guides covering the entire canvas and Photoshop becomes so slow it isunresponsive. Is it supposed to be impossible to automatically slice the document into morethan 100 sections? It looks like I can make it work if I slice it manually, butI need the accuracy that comes with divide slice. I am running the latest version of
Problem Description — It’s quite common for Photoshop documents to contain a lot of layers. I have some documents here with well over 1000 layers, and I don’t think I’m alone (I have groups for each state of the iOS app usually). It’d be great to be able to filter the layers palette. I realise the complications this might add: Should users be able to edit layers in the search results? If so, how do you handle events like reordering layers? It might be easy to just drop back to the normal (non-search results) view as soon as they do anything, but select the top layer from the search results, or the layer they clicked in the search results. Workaround — Scrolling through layers and groups until the desired layer is found. Or, right clicking in the canvas and selecting the correct layer from the list of layers under the mouse cursor. Set a spot color layer value with swatches - is it possible? We have a new set of fluorescent inks that have to be treated as spot colors in the RIP. I can create a set of named spot colors with Lab values in Illustrator and put the same named colors in the RIP with specific ink builds (rather than Lab values) and the RIP will use that library to convert the named color in the file to the ink build with the fluorescent inks. If I want to do the same thing in Photoshop I have to create a spot color channel and then manually name it to match the library in the RIP. I can bring the named color library into Photoshop as swatches, but I can't access the swatches from the spot color layer color picker. I'm just looking for a way to get around the manual naming of the spot color layer.
Allowing separators to be inserted inbetween groups of tools would be a wonderful addition!
Workspace Feature: I would like for the tools in the toolbar to also be apart of how I customize my workspace. I would like the option of disabling certain tools from the toolbar. As a result, whenever I choose my preferred workspace, I use the tools specifically for the project at hand. Thank You Or can there be an option where the tools in the toolbar can be removable.
For webdesign it would be nice to instantly be able to select 16pt in the font size dropdown, I will send you a cake.
When I open a PSD and there are some missing fonts, why not tell me what those fonts are, sort of like Flash does: http://cl.ly/1w1x2V350V341a0Z2p2g
I would love to be able to have 2 different drop shadows, inner shadows, gradients etc in a single layer. Very often I have to dupe the layer, put 0 fill and apply extra styles that way. It's inconvenient and messy, especially when trying to apply the same effect onto other layers. Also, it would be great if I were able to sort the effects. Meaning, I could put drop shadow above or below inner shadow, stroke above the inner shadow and bevel, etc.
Hello! I'm loving the Adobe Generator for Photoshop and use it a lot! A useful feature i'd like to see is to specify/create folders to save the assets. Something like: folder/asset.png It would be great to generate Android assets, when we have files with the same name, but in different folders (mdpi, hdpi, xhdpi, etc) Thanks!
Doesn't show up in the Keyboard Shortcuts settings either. Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Photoshop CS6: "Copy Shape Attributes" doesn't get recorded when recording an Act....
