Feature Requests

Hi everyone,I've spoke to a few Adobe agents about this, but nothing got done, and one randomly closed the conversation abruptly, so I thought I'd share my problem here, hoping that someone at Adobe can pass it on to get this feature updated.Basically, I have standalone AAF files. And when I import one into Premiere Pro, it seems to have the timeline data, but all of the audio doesn't work. It's corrupted or can't be found or whatever. And I've tried this with several AAF files and gone through all the online steps etc etc etc, and came to the conclusion that  Premiere Pro doesn't know how to read AAF files if they're standalone.I looked around endlessly for a solution until someone mentioned Davinci Resolve. I've never used or even thought about using another editing software since I'm paying so much for Adobe's softwares and assumed they were the best around.But lo and behold, I download the FREE Davinci Resolve editor, click "Import Timeline" and select my AAF file, and bam, al

Why did you guys change the standard tracksize of every new added track, regardless of it being an audio or video track. It is so annoying! The Size is too big and i have to change it for every track seperately. Also when extending a track via double click, I cannot bring it to the previous size. When double clicking again it only gives me this size, where I can see the ugly Video thumbnail, which I don't want to see, just like before. I seperately have to re-adjust the timeline, which takes a lot of time summed up and is very annoying.Why did you guys even change it and most importantly, why is it not possible to change the standard size??   [Profanity removed by moderator]

So, I have a unique circumstance that could be fixed with the simplest feature.  The project source file for an export should be automatically attached to the metadata of the exported file.  I have a project that needs to be delivered to distro this week.  It's been a year since I opened the project file, but when I do, the export no longer matches the timeline, even though the timestamps match up on both original source and autosave, which tells me there's a rogue project somewhere in my system.  if only I could access the metadata of my export to find out where the file path is to the missing .prproj, I would be completed in less than 20m.  But now I have to completely rebuild this project again.  Please make this an added feature Adobe, this would save a lot of headaches in the future.  I don't know why this isn't already a thing in 2024.

From time to time, work demands I produce ~30s social videos out of longer 30 - 45min panel discussions.   Currently we use other 3rd party tools to quickly generate possible useable segments, but these are often expensive and, of course, 3rd party outside of Premiere which I use.   Is there the poential for this tool to be in the pipeline for Adobe in the near future? With how prevelant social is in our day and age, and the speed in which new emerging 3rd party AI tools are being released, it would be great for this to be implemented into Adobe's AI suite.   Anyone know if this is coming? Or can suggest more AI tools which can quickly recommend social cuts out of longer videos?

Can't decide if this is a bug or expected behaviour but currently, if you don't select the Custom naming option when creating multicam clips, you aren't able to change them later. There are a few issues with this. What if you don't know, or simply forget to select Custom, perhaps an edit assistant made them. Even if you do select Custom, Premiere creates them in a seemingly random order, which makes adding scene/take info to hundreds of dailies no fun at all. [Update - I've discovered selecting Audio Clip Name (not Video) allows the clip name to be changed. So, still a bug but there is a workaround]

It's been more than 20 years at this point. When is Adobe going to put a switch in the Preferences to allow us to "Use the Project's Name as the Export File name" and one to allow us to "Save Exported file to the same folder as the Project"?I understand that not everyone uses that workflow and some people export to a separate location, or make multiple sequences in a project but just give us an optional switch already? This gets requested constantly, for every version of Premier and has been for decades. All we ever get is instructions to, every single time, manually change the Sequence name (which defaults to the name of the first file you add to it - honestly a crazy default action in the era of Digital Camera's naming every file with strings of numbers and letters loosely corresponding to a date.) Not everyone wants to name their exported file "GNT20240808.mp4" and save it into the random destination folder you selected FOR YOUR PREVIOUS PROJECT?!?!"Every single time I create a

Captions evolved since the latest updates. It will be great if Premiere can read .vtt files instead of .srt only. There's tons of different subtitles formats which will be great to work inside Premiere.Another idea is to be clearer when the user makes it's own subtitles styles. Like a common folder or something similar with the plugins folder. We need something like this to find easier all the customized styles that users created.

Hello community! All good?Using and working daily with Adobe Premiere, I felt the need to be able to create a color palette within the Color Picker, because when I'm working on a project where I have predefined colors, it would be very practical to be able to add them and always use them without the need to choose the color again.  When I'm coloring a caption, for example, and I need to reuse the same color, this way the palette would make the process much easier. Including this feature, I think it would be very welcome in After Effects too! Thanks

I would like to beable to remove all attributes from inside a nest on a timeline. I often have to Nest footage to apply stabilization as I work with anamorphic or footage that is different to the sequence Res..When i come to finishing to send to grade or VFX/GFX I like to do a general removal of all Luts/colour or erroneous fx that are not needed any more. But on complex timelines i may have many Nest and It would save me so much time not having to open every single one checking if any fx have been applied to them. A check box on the Remove Attribute that enables Nests being included would be probably the best solution as there are times when editors would want nests to be ignored.

The enhance speech feature is great, but the workflow that come with it is not good. Let's say I have ine big source clip (video and audio) of an 1h interview. I can apply the enhance speech effect, it will take some time to process but it's ok.  1st problem: everytime I do a cut, or I change the duration of the clip, enhance speech has to process the clip again... It slows down the workflow.  2nd problem (the worst): everytime I open my project to work on my video, PR has to re-process ALLLLLL the clips one by one, it takes hours... Please fix that....You could apply the enhance speech effect to the source clip, so the cuts don't change the effect, and it doesn't have to re-process it after each project opening.  Clément - French user

Trying to fix the new visual layout Adobe implemented, which drastically changes my ability to edit.  I was told to choose "classic" label colors.  However, that does not resolve the awful inversion of lightness/darkness of audio waveforms and audio transitions. Has Adobe issued a fix to this?  From what I've read, thousands of users are begging Adobe to fix this unnecessary change, which is ultimately turning out to be a bug. I know I'm one of many users who hope they do, or are going to start turning to alternative softwares.

Hi Adobe.  Exporting .CSV is a great feature, and with some tweaking it will become invaluable.  The ability to re-import the .CSV is a critical step.  My biggest challenge is working with many sequences at once, each with their own Essential Graphics Templates.  If I could batch export all project sequences at once to a single .CSV, or perhaps multiple .CSV's, then I could work way more effectively.  As somone who works with localization, this would be a game changer for all the editors in my department.  We could do the translations on the spreadsheet and then reimport the spreadsheet data into a Premiere project and have it cascade throughout.  Instantly updating all text to a given language.A magic button that tranlsates all text using AI would be pretty rad too!  But I am working with the system in place 🙂Thanks!

Hello, I am in a state of complete paralysis due to a traffic accident. I cannot use my body below the neck. Therefore, I am editing videos with the help of a special mouse. Because of the [Headmouse link removed]  feature, I do not have a scroll wheel and can only use left-click and right-click functions. A scrollbar is absolutely necessary to move to areas outside the frame that are not visible. For healthy individuals, the changed interface may seem simple and visually appealing. However, for disabled persons like me, using a scroll wheel is not possible. Therefore, a scrollbar is an essential feature. Thank you for reading.

I synced my clips using multi-camera, and now the footage has a yellow selection border around it when I want to preview my footage. It's very distracting. Changing the timeline to a non-multi-camera sequence does not remove the yellow border. Requesting the option to disable the yellow border for multi-camera sequences.

Seeing if there is a way to add a feature that would take a custom track style and set it as the default in the Essential Graphics Pane.  After the Producers at work do captioning, we have to set it to top justification and centered with white text and a black opaque background.  I created a track style with all those settings, but it has to be re imported each time Premiere is open.

Compared to other NLEs, Premiere Pro still has an outdated UI that feels uninspiring. Working with its current style and color palette becomes monotonous. I spend hours working within Premiere, and its operation leaves me feeling fatigued and unenthusiastic. I believe that offering more options for customizing the interface's colors and perhaps allowing users to create custom themes within the application would breathe new life into it. This way, those who prefer the classic UI can stick with it, while users who enjoy making changes can explore fresh themes and color schemes.

It would be really useful if the creation date and time for sequences could be captured and made visible in metadata. This would help determine which is the most recent version of a sequence which has been duplicated for backup purposes in the editing process. A bit like keeping versions of sequences.  Peter

So I'm assuming this isn't a feature in premiere as I can't find anything about it, but here goes. I'm working on a wedding, and I am doing the finishing edit now.  I have hundreds of light leak overlays in a bin, that I want to implement into the timeline to use as transitional elements.  The annoying thing is I am having to set the blend mode to screen on each single clip once I place it in the timeline.  Now, before you say just copy and paste atrributes from one to the rest, this is not a solution that will work because I have to choose the overlay from the bin, and place it, and without the transfer mode already activated, I can't properly see how the overlay will look and interact with the footage.  So that said, what I am hoping to do, is to either batch set the blend mode inside the bin, so that when I grab the overlay and place it into the timeline, it defaults to already having the screen blend mode active, or another solution that could produce the s

The new update of premiere pro locks the user into having to zoom in on the program monitor by using the mouse wheel instead of having it locked and zooming in and out with the scale drop down.  My feature request is to please allow us to disable zooming with the mouse in the program monitor. In my opinion it would make more sense for the default behavior to be how the program monitor has acted up until this point - with zooming by selecting different scales.  And the ability to enable mouse zooming as an option makes more sense to me.  

Hello everyone, Hope your all doing good.   From my time in premiere which I have used since 2015 and though my professional career. Since I left Film school back in 2022 which is almost 3 years ago now. I have noticed some stuff that really Bug me And I want I have some surgessions. I edit alot of youtube videos and Client projects such as interviews.    1. Remove previous cut points when ripple trim previous edit and next edit to playhead with J and L cuts  I've noticed that since I edit with lots of J and L cuts in my edits that when I press Q on the Keyboard which is set to ripple trim previous edit to playhead it adds another cut; When I press Q or E for the same shortcut ripple trim next edit to playhead. and Means I have to cut the clip out which I find is annoying when your editing a interview and have a small extra clip. If you can remove that, I would be very thankful cause I have noticed this in many versions of premiere   2. Essential sound Pan

Dear Adobe Team, could it be possible to integrate bin view presets and different timeline view presets into workspaces so they can be safed within custom workspaces. Depending on the workspace I would like to save a timeline view preset and bin view preset within a workspace. I want that feature so one could better focus on the work at hand by only clicking once a custom workspace keyboard shortcut without additionally dialing in bin view and timeline view presets. Would be more efficient.For professionals a straigt forward UI configuration should be the goal. That would'nt even conflict with the 'mousy-icon-fancied' beginners approach of the UI, but would justify the professional image Adobe is selling with Premiere Pro.  Another thing that irritates me is that after a workspace change the selected window changes. Could be an option in preferences to check whenever you change a workspace the selected window (timeline for eksample) should be kept. Or every wor

I really need the ability to see source clip label colours rather than the multicam group label colour when editing multi camera sequences. I often have footage from more than one night / performance synced together and need to be able to see quickly which night the shot is from and therefore whether the sync is cheated or not and whether to look out for continuity at the edit points.

My team is currently working in a massive Premiere Production, and it's peforming flawlessly. We have our Productions Folder structure set up to operate like a simple Kanban board, where Premiere Projects (by deliverable) move from one step of the process to the next by physically moving from one folder to the next. This works great at a small scale, but we're up to hundreds of projects, and it's getting difficult to sift through.What works:- Searching the Production in the search bar reveals the project that I'm looking for. I'm able to then open the project and operate on it in-place. The project also stays highlighted in the filtered Productions Panel.What's weird:- I can't pick up and move the project from within the filtered view. I can Move it to Trash, but I don't want to do that.- When I clear my search, the project is no longer highlighted in the Productions Panel, meaning I've lost it in the sea of files once again, and have to go looking for it based on the folder struc
