InCopy

I hope I can explain this properly. I am working on a postcard at my job. I added all stories to an assignemt for the writer to review in incopy. Now, she is unable to check out the assignments. When I open my indesign file, it says the assignment is checked out by another user, but the user is me. It says they are checked out by me but I can not make changes to them or check them back in. We use this process all the time and have never seen this issue before. It's happening with multiple indesign files even when I delete and redo the incopy assignments/stories. Image attached. I am working on the latest mac software and all of my programs are up to date.

We are working on a magazine. My colleague sent me zip files with updated versions and when I opened them in InCopy, his changes were not there, even though he could see them. I have deleted all old files from my computer - but it's like it's opening cached versions. Is there a fix?

Hi, I'm working on a prospectus with my team and using InCopy with them for the first time. One of the copy editors has encountered this issue where she can't check out a frame and message says You are currently editing 'filename' in another frame. Screenshot below of the message. The text frame is a threaded frame to another on the following page as its a continuous table but she gets the same message on the frame too. She's working form the ICMA assignment file I emailed to her. I'm aware this isn't the best workflow, the project team didn't want to use dropbox due to a whole host of IT issues we are having at the moment. She using InCopy Version 16.0.1.Does anyone know whats going on because I can't work it out for the life of me? And she can't package the file for InDesign to send back to me until it's checked in. Thanks so much for any help in advance!  

Buen dia comunidad, no puedo usar los pictogramas en photoshop 24.0 (Utilizo esta versión ya que mi PC las versiones posteriores las corre con mucha inestabilidad). He tratado de mil maneras usar los pictogramas y no he podido, les adjunto evidencia del panel que aparece (siempre lo he utilizado y no habia presentado falla hasta ahora) al momento de hacer click en una variación de la letra no me deja aplicarla (se queda la misma que trae por defecto (la normal por asi decirlo), en verdad que me molesta el no poder encontrar una solución ya que en ocasiones es vital para algun diseño poder utilizar los pictogramas o carácteres especiales para las letras. 

InCopy does not currently support the View or Editing of Alt Text. This is essential for editors as all PDF need to be accessible to all users. This is an urgent feature request.Is there a plugin available to view alt-text in InCopy?

Estoy trabajando por primera vez con InCopy y me sucede que cuando paso la Asignación y el editor hace los cambios, al abrir el archivo nuevamente en InDesign, me cambia las tipografías. Cómo podría solucionar esto? Al Editor le sucede lo mismo. Al abrir la Asignación en InCopy, a pesar de tener cargadas las fuentes en su equipo, le cambia las tipografías del documento.

How to uninstall only adobe Incopy application silently?

Our team would like to use InCopy to speed up workflow on our monthly magazine. I lay this out in InDesign first. Our feature articles have 100–200+ endnotes. Endnote text is constantly edited until print. Is it possible to edit endnote text in InCopy? Having trouble figuring it out. Any help would be much appreciated.

Issue: Conditional Text is malformed when in use in linked InCopy story that is shared between four documents. If the InCopy story is edited in one document, text that was previously unconditional gets converted to conditional and hidden. Hallo, ich habe ein Problem in Indesign. Egal, welchen Umbruch ich mache, der Text spring IMMER in den nächsten Textrahmen. Egal, ob ich die Tastatur nehme oder es über das Menü einfüge. ALLE Umbrüche springen immer ins nächste Textfeld.Kennt jemand eine Lösung?

Hi, when exporting a PDF from InCopy, the images are pixelated. (Readable, but not as sharp as they should be.) There's definitely no issues with the quality of the image files—I tried multiple sizes/types/resolutions. To test, when exporting from InCopy as an EPS, everything looks perfect. Also, exporting the same file from InDesign (to PDF) looks great. It seems the issue is with the PDF export settings in InCopy, but it doesn't give you much to change, and no quality setting. Has anyone seen this? If we can't export to PDF from InCopy, I won't be able to convince my coworkers to use it. I'm a longtime InDesign user, and never had PDF export issues with my images being blurred. Thanks! 

This is the first time our team has encountered this issue with InCopy. So far it is limited to just this document and we cannot find a solution. We have numerous other documents, all created the same way, and none of them have this problem. This specific document, when first opened in InCopy, is automatically viewed in "story mode" and looks fine. When switching to "Layout View" it shows the "A-Parent" page, which only has the header and is void of text. This creates a lot of confusion for everyone. What we would like to know is. How do we get it to stay defaulted to the regular pages with the text when switching to layout view? We just found the little selection tab in the bottom left corner but the majority of our end users are not tech savvy and would easily get confused by this. Is there a way to fix this?  We have no idea why it is doing this nor how to correct it.

Hi, I'm the second person at our organization dealing with a frustrating problem, after recently getting a new MacBook Air (running Monterey 12.5.1) and downloading InCopy 2023 v. 18.0.  For years, editors in our organization have been using InCopy seamlessly with designers creating publication files in InDesign and housing them on Dropbox for easy sharing.  About two months ago, one editor on our team started having an odd problem, though. When opening an indd file using InCopy, text was generally viewable -- until it was linked. Then it disappeared. With so much missing text, the files became unusable to that editor. Strangely, I was using a previous computer at the time and didn't have the same problem. I could access the same files and see and edit all of the linked text.  Fast forward to today and I have the new computer referenced above. Now, I've opened a file using InCopy where I could previously see the text. Now, that it's linked however, th

Why after CheckOut and then CheckIn icml file increase file size from ~50-60KB to ~3-4MB ?

Surely there is a reasonable way to move from Layout to the same spot in Galley, but after multiple attempts over the years I have not found an answer. Switching to Galley then having to scroll through hundreds of stories in an effort to locate an overset is siimply inefficient, much less frustrating. Please tell me there is a simple way to switch from Layout to Galley and land at the same story.

Hi there - Suddenly I find that I can no longer package Assignments for Incopy to email. Makes a package, but no iDat file is created and I just get a red triangle with no info! Can this be down to (bleep bleep) Sonoma? Regards DaveT

I cant see the right hand section of my document 

InCopy is showing text all spaced out and it hides almost all of it unless you scroll down, when the rest magically appears. I've tried updating InCopy, restarting my Mac and even deleting InCopy preferences but none of it worked. The only view that shows it even close to normal is galley, but even then it has one line on the first page and the rest of it on another page. Screenshots attached.

InCopy is not allowing a hyperlink to a page to be created. The menu pops up and everything is showing as it should but the Ok button is greyed out. All the other Link to options appear to be fine, it is only the link to page option that is not working. 

Running InCopy2024 on Mac OS 13.5.2. I was able to open a file and edit it, but as I saved the app crashed. Since then, then app opens, then crashes at the Missing Fonts window. I've tried opening other files with the same result. I've tried removing and reinstalling the app and the Creative Cloud app, and nothing seems to help. 

Can multiple users work within an InCopy file simultaneously? Obviously not within a "checked out" frame - but in other parts of the document?

Has anyone else had a problem with InCopy V19 (2024) crashing when the track changes are viewed?

Hi all, I just updated to Incopy 2024 and I noticed that the magnification widget that was located on the topmost bar is gone. Does anyone know how to get it back? I uninstalled and reinstalled the program to no avail. Thanks!
