Hello, I am working on an indesign document that I have created using a purchased template. I have been working on this a bit each day and I am too invested to restart. When I open my document, the pages are not loading properly or are missing design elements. Every time I open the document different elements are missing, some remain the same but it is not necessarily the same missing items each time I reopen the document. I have restarted my laptop, updated InDesign, reset preferences and essentials etc. I am stummped! I am up aganst a tight deadline to finish this document however, I am having trouble editing this when I cannot view the "actual" document fully. The photo uploads are examples of what I able to see compared to what should be on the document. Every time i scroll to the page, it appears differently. 

Hi Everyone,Hoping someone might be able to help me. I've created a book in InDesign and I'm exporting it to epub. Some of the paragraphs have a black border around them (see first screen grab), but when I go to export to epub, the text changes so there is a border around every line instead of the whole paragraph (see second screen grab). Does anyone know if there is any way of getting around this issue, so that the border is around all of the paragraphs instead of each line? Many thanks Zoe 

Buenas noches: Hace 2 días instalé Adobe, llevo queriendo probar Indesign desde hace tiempo, además lo necesito para un proyecto, y me urge mucha prisa poder resolver el problema. Este error "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" exceptionCode="0xc0000005" instruction="0x00007FFD1038125C"> aparece cuando quiero abrir Indesign, ni siquiera se abre la aplicación que ella ya me aparece el error.  Ya probé: A instalar y desinstalar varias veces. Probar versiones antiguas, ninguna funciona. Hi I have had endless technical problems with InDesign for the year I have been subscribing which has had a catastrophic impact on my business. I am hoping someone here might know the silver bullet solution. Adobe admit the problem is at their end but haven’t been able to fix it. Over many months, I have spent countless hours in chat and on calls with multiple Adobe agents, with issues frequently escalated to senior specialists — yet no permanent solutions have been found. Several times I have had senior managers call me but still many ongoing problems are being experienced. Multiple emails. They are responsive in trying to fix the problem but haven’t been able to fix it. I just can’t understand how there can’t be a solution.Please can you let me know if you know the solution? I can’t be the only person in the world having these problems and I am hoping someone else has figured it out. Please bear in mind this has been going on for a year so it can’t be related to any recent updates.I

I have tried grouping and turning the txt into outlines. Help!  

My workflow involves editing in Word, applying styles in Word, then placing copy in InDesign. We use Typographer quotes generally but need straight quotes for foot and inch markers. Previously, I discovered that if you turn off Typographer quotes while placing copy, straight quotes remained straight and curly quotes remained curly. (If Typogrpher Quotes was turned on, all quotes would end up curly.) But this no longer works. Straight quotes now import as curly even with Typographer Quotes turned off. This means a lot of extra tedious search/replace work after we've already got everything just right in Word.  Anyone know how to fix this--or another way to achieve my desired result?  ThanksJim

Hi Team, Once I have prepared the artwork with Illustrator and given the link to InDesign. I convert InDesign to PDF, but the conversion to PDF has some bounding boxes around gradients, so kindly help me out.For more clarity, videos are attached.

I'm almost exclusively using fonts from Adobe Fonts and installing them on my Adobe Enterprise account. The Adobe Fonts page says "The full Adobe Fonts library is cleared for both personal and commercial use." It also specifically mentions PDFs for print, which is what I'm making; books. And still on maybe half of the fonts I try I get "Font not allowed" in Preflight. I'm exporting for offset printing only, not ebooks or interactive PDFs, and I'm assuming that the printing house will not try to hack the PDF and steal fonts. I sort of suspect that that the warning message is incorrect and doesn't apply to me but I'm not certain and I cannot risk that a run of thousands of books have font problems. Earlier I have simply outlined these fonts as they were always "arty" fonts that are only used a couple of places in headlines. But this time I have over 240 instances of fonts not being allowed, while being logged into my Adobe account and working with Adobe fonts. What do

When I want to open a file from within InDesign, I see all the PDF's but I have to search for the actual InDesign file. How do I change the options? I don't want to open a PDF from withn Indy. If I want to open a PDF, I'll use Acrobat or Illustrator. Very annoying and time consuming.InDesign version 20.5Mac Sequoia 15.6.1

Is there a way to find and replace all the strokes comprised between different thicknesses, for example between 0.01 pt and 0.09 pt with strokes of 0.1 pt thickness?

Is there any way to create right aligned numbers in a Table of Contents without having to manually insert a tab before each line?You can create the headings easy enough with right aliened numbers.

In einer Datei sind 4 funktionierende Hyperlinks an unsichtbaren Rechtecken.Beim Export dieser INDD in eine IDML wird ohne (Fehler) Meldung exportiert.Der Import dieser IDML-Datei führt zum Verlust von 1 der 4 Hyperlinks , da fehlerbehaftet "Der Absatz auf den verwiesen wird oder der Textanker fehlt" 3 von 4 funktionieren wie vorher bei der INDD Datei.Die IDML-Dateien werden für den Übersetzungsprozess erzeugt Win11, Indesign 20.5   

All of the suddent, my CHARACTER window is not showing anything, the font, size, all of that is an empty window. I am working in WOndows. Any suggestions????

Hello -   I try to make the following via a .jsx script, but not sure it's posible,especially the "export as single .JPG file the rectangle frame  including its placed image/link"… Via an dialog box, offer the option to the user to EITHER export ALL included "Design Frame Rectangle/" (and its placed image/link) at once OR to export the current selected design frame only.   Anyways, they should be export as single .JPG file (high quality, @300dpi, antialiasing "on"). You will need to create a new folder with the name of the open .indd file in the same location as the open .indd file. Be careful, sometimes, the design frame rectangle can be part of a group, in that case you will have to export the whole group as .JPG (white background as default). BUT for each link, I'll need: A. One time an export of the "Design Frame Rectangle" with its link (as .JPG). Here the link could be partially hidden/cropped via a mask but it's OK. B. Another time, if the "Design Frame Rectangle"

I'm trying to open a document, but this appears, then nothing loads, and my document doesn't open. Not sure what's happening?

Hi, I have followed the instructions in this Adobe article: https://www.adobe.com/au/acrobat/roc/blog/how-to-add-gifs-to-pdf.html. I have inserted a .mov file into the InDesign file, and have selected the "Play in loop" option in the media controls. I have also selected the "Play on page load" option.  I then export as an Interactive PDF, and open in Acrobat (fresh install today). The file plays on page load only after giving the file permission. The problem: The file does not play in a loop, it plays once and defaults back to the poster frame. There are also no controls that allow it to be restarted. I believe I have followed only steps specified by Adobe, so I don't understand why this isn't working as expected. Any suggestions? (I am on a Mac, if relevant)

On Windows 11 24H2, when we open up a new InDesign document (either from local drive or network drive), InDesign will freeze after about 5 minutes.  It will freeze for about 10 minutes and then start working normally again.  It then no longer freezes while we have InDesign document(s) opened.  It's as if it does something shortly after it's opened that causes the freeze and either finishes or times out then works normally again.  We have tried to re-create our preferences folder.  We have verified that our proxy server is not blocking any needed web addresses.  We have tried InDesign 20.3.1, 20.4, 20.4.1 and the newly released 20.5 with the same problem.  We have tried to chat with support, but they were not helpful and kept disconnecting our chats.  Has anyone experienced this issue?  Thank you.

 I want to copy the pages right after the selected ones using the "alt" key. However, when I press "alt" while moving the selected pages, nothing appears. The copy symbol only appears if I move the cursor a bit further, but then the copied pages end up at the end of the document instead of where I want them. This problem doesn't occur with just one page; it only happens when I try to copy multiple pages. What could be causing this issue? I know about a Move pages command but I found it more complicated than regular mouse dragging.    

Hi! I'm having a problem with the alt text language. I need to change it automatically in indd.I changed the language in the document, but it didn't work.Does anyone have a solution?(I have the possibility to change it manually but there are too many documents)

Wir haben folgendes Problem: In Dokument A haben wir dieses Absatzformate angelegt. Wenn wir das Absatzformat in ein neues Dokument B aus Dokument A laden, erscheinen einige Formateinstellungen, die so nicht eingerichtet wurden. Auch bei dem Versuch, das Absatzformat in die Library zu laden, führt dazu, dass beim Laden in ein neues Dokument C irgendwelche neuen Formateinstellungen geladen werden (in der Library scheint alles noch zu stimmen). Woran liegt das? Müssen wir irgendeine Voreinstellung ändern, damit Absatzformate auch wirklich so übernommen werden, wie sie ursprünglich angelegt wurden? Danke schonmal für eure Hilfe.

Hello Adobe Community I'm using Indesign and have created a table, the upper cells row I have done as Header and introduced an image in each cell. The header repeats in each single page after and this is fine. The problem appears when exporting in pdf where the header appears only on the first page and not on the followings. File was created with CS3 first than converted to the last indesign. Thanks alot for your help. Beppe
