I have a book in English that all paragraph and charachter styles are already set, now I need to make a copy of english styles and change all at once to Spanish, is there any easy way in Indesign to change all at once without clicking on each paragraph style and change to spanish one by one?Remmeber I don't make style from scratch, only changing previous styles. I use Indesign CS6Has Adobe any script for that?

Both Illustrator and InDesign crash when I open them. This only happens on my desktop. They work fine on my laptop. A blue circle flashes continuously next to the cursor, and when I go to “File” in the top left corner of the toolbar, for example, nothing happens; I can't open that menu. Photoshop works fine. I've already updated Illustrator and InDesign, uninstalled and reinstalled the programs, but that doesn't help. Has anyone else experienced this?

This is a problem that existed in Indesign in the last years and I don't know how to overcome. I have a 150 page price list. Every product has an image and there are 2x7 cells on a page, totalling 740 cells. I have 21 layers, each layer representing different currencies and different languages.When exporting I turn on-off some layers to generate the correct PDF's. After the first export is finished, Indesign hangs (not responding) for a half minute. After consecutive exports are finished, the hang time is gradually increased, reaching several minutes. Therefore an export session is a painfully slow and annoying task.I am experiencing the same with all big documents (I am making product catalogues of 150+ pages).I think, Indesign has serious memory leaks and bugs related to export PDF. These "reset settings" and "save to idml" things aren't working. Should I send my indd files to Adobe to reproduce the trouble for the developers? If I foresee correctly, next year, when we will

Hi. Im translating several magazines from danish to english. I of course re-use all the layout, som when I paste the english text into the "old" danish textboxes, InDesign will of course still treat each textbox as if it was danish. So I must change each textbox into the correct language. Otherwise I will get problems with hyphenation and eventually spelling, when I in the end - when running spellcheck - realise - I still have a lot of textboxes I have forgot to change. (And I have hundreds and hundreds). My question is: Is there a way to make an overall change for the entire document, like "Change all textboxes to English" ? This have been an issue for years, and I still haven't been able to find the answer - So any help will be welcome. Thanks.

I have a Master (aka Parent) page that has an apparently demonic text box. No matter how many times I unlock it and delete it on the linked (aka Child) page in the document, the text box stays there. (I have tried doing it like 12 times in a row; the delete button is powerless.) I tried rebuilding the document page; the glitch remains. I tried rebuilding the Master page; the glitch remains. The lefthand pages that use the same facing-page Master pages are fine; the righthand pages have this vexing text box that will not go away or allow changes.  If I unlock that text box on the Child page and type a new word in, it seems to allow it, but apparently puts a second text box on top of the original, so there are two words illegibly on top of each other. Hello. I have a problem with indesign font autoactivation.When i insert a picture to document, all the fonts are deactivated.When i insert another picture in to the document, all the fonts are back.I use Connect Fonts for font activation.Indesign andConnect Fonts with latest updates.macOS Ventura 13.4.1 - latest updates. Please watch the enclosed video file.Can somebody help me with this bug? 

I have no idea the technical terms for this, but I'll start with the example that's easiest to type out.When I double click on a paragraph style to open the settings, the window appears behind the program. In order to see it, I have to use one of my hot corners (I'm on a Macbook Pro) to show mission control and then select InDesign and then the window will be visable. This happens for all dialog boxes like that in just InDesign, all other Adobe programs are working fine. Does anyone else have this problem? It's hugely inconvenient to have to swipe up every time I want to adjust a paragraph style or color or export something, etc.

Das Problem tritt bei allen getesteten Schriften auf und betrifft sowohl den optischen als auch den metrischen Kerning-Modus.  Danke (EN) I have an issue in InDesign where adjusting the kerning not only changes the spacing between the selected characters but also affects various other spacings. This problem occurs with all tested fonts and in both optical and metric kerning modes. Thanks      

Hi All, I opened a document I have been working on and noticed that, all of a sudden, all my tabs and returns have disappeared. All text in frames runs together. The fonts seem correct and color and font style formatting seems to be intact, but there are no returns and tabs anymore. WTH? Please help if you can!

On creating new document, Adobe lists a set of preset templates in all its applications, which are free and one does not need to purchase these from Adobe stock. For example in Indesign, one can see a host of templates under each of Print, Web and Mobile along with the blank templates, which are all available for viewing and download. Suddenly I am not able to see these! I can only see the blank ones under each category and the ones that I have downloaded up until now. I have tried re-installing creative cloud suit, accessing CC through a new account on my Mac and anything that I left out, Adobe support has tried to solve it through remote access. Haven't come across anything like this anywhere online. Any ideas about what is happening and how to resolve this?

So far I've managed to use a single InDesign document for both print and ebook versions of the same book. The differences are so far only in the frontmatter section and some parent page elements like page numbers, so I hide/show a "Print only" layer and "Ebook only" layer for those elements. Has worked great so far. But now I discovered that my "clever" approach to a divider between scenes (sometimes called a dinkus) wasn't so clever after all. Avoiding graphics for the ebook (they look terrible in sepia or dark mode), the author (my husband) and I decided to use a simple line. Paragraph rules are ignored in epub, and I was afraid that "___" (a series of underscore characters) might have a slight gap between the characters in some fonts used in e-readers and apps, so I used ten spaces styled as underlined, which looks like this:But apparently the epub export ignores paragraphs with only spaces, so my nice line disappeared! So my first question is: Do you think underscore char

Hello! I designed a book in Indesign, saving it in Cloud Document with no problems. Im currently backing up all the files on a local server but i cant download the main Indesign document, the downloading wheel keeps spinning until it says that couldnt be downloaded. The file itself is still working fine on Cloud Documents. Also tired saving it with the Save As feature but after doing that Indesign crashes and wont let me open the file that it saved. I need to locally back up the file. This is the error that displays when i try to open the file saved with the Save As feature:

Hi. Is anyone experiencing long delays when either moving or copying InDesign files on the Mac desktop? I'm running Ventura now but was seeing the same behaviour with Monterey which is a shame as I was hoping the OS upgrade might fix things. I'm running the latest InDesign v.18.0.It's kind of weird as it's not every ID file, it's quite random and happens with files I've opened directly from their folders, and with files that have been sent to me by an editor which I haven't yet worked on.I've tried all of the usual procedures for fixing finder issues - delete p.list, start up in safe mode and so on - but nothing makes this go away. A restart will sometimes improve things briefly but the issue always returns after a few files have been moved between directories.Any ideas out there? I can't find any references to this issue elsewhere.

Bonjour, je sais que le sujet a déjà été évoqué, mais les solutions proposées n'ont pas fonctionné chez moi. Je travaille sur un Macbook M3 pro, sous Sequoia 15.3.2.J'ai l'habitude de bouger ma fenêtre Indesign complète sur un second écran, mais depuis quelques temps je n'y parviens plus, les "boutons" de contrôle du haut ont disparu. Je suis obligée de faire flotter toutes les fenêtre et de les déplacer une à une, ce qui est très fastidieux et pas pratique du tout. J'ai réinitialisé les préférences, et renommé le dossier UXP en UXP.old dans la bibliothèque. Si quelqu'un a une solution miracle à me proposer, je suis preneuse... Got an issue today with InDesign (20.5) freezing indefinitely everytime the user adds a text file data source via Dynamic Data. Issue appears no matter what text file is used (even an empty one!). I've tried rebooting PC, resetting preferences for InDesign, updating and reinstalling InDesign, but all no effect. Issue not present on other machines either so I'm a bit lost here, any ideas would be much appreciated

What is happening here? I grouped it before I copied it. Is that the problem?

Thank you! I have recently completed a reflowable epub 3.0 through InDesign (the file was originally prepared for print publication which already happened) - stumbling through it mostly but I have used a combination of -InDesign paragraph style / space above/below / export tags for page breaks  -InDesign Object export options for Images -and dabbled into CSS code (with the help of the book and links from James Gifford mostly for front matter) The book contains over 30 images with captions (which I followed the rule of End of body paragraph / anchor for image / image / caption paragraph / nex text paragraph). I have selected for the images to be relative to text flow as far as size.  I have previewed the book with Calibre / Kindle as I was building it. The file passed through inspection and to be distributed via D2D (per clie
