In einer Datei sind 4 funktionierende Hyperlinks an unsichtbaren Rechtecken.Beim Export dieser INDD in eine IDML wird ohne (Fehler) Meldung exportiert.Der Import dieser IDML-Datei führt zum Verlust von 1 der 4 Hyperlinks , da fehlerbehaftet "Der Absatz auf den verwiesen wird oder der Textanker fehlt" 3 von 4 funktionieren wie vorher bei der INDD Datei.Die IDML-Dateien werden für den Übersetzungsprozess erzeugt Win11, Indesign 20.5   

All of the suddent, my CHARACTER window is not showing anything, the font, size, all of that is an empty window. I am working in WOndows. Any suggestions????

Hello -   I try to make the following via a .jsx script, but not sure it's posible,especially the "export as single .JPG file the rectangle frame  including its placed image/link"… Via an dialog box, offer the option to the user to EITHER export ALL included "Design Frame Rectangle/" (and its placed image/link) at once OR to export the current selected design frame only.   Anyways, they should be export as single .JPG file (high quality, @300dpi, antialiasing "on"). You will need to create a new folder with the name of the open .indd file in the same location as the open .indd file. Be careful, sometimes, the design frame rectangle can be part of a group, in that case you will have to export the whole group as .JPG (white background as default). BUT for each link, I'll need: A. One time an export of the "Design Frame Rectangle" with its link (as .JPG). Here the link could be partially hidden/cropped via a mask but it's OK. B. Another time, if the "Design Frame Rectangle"

I'm trying to open a document, but this appears, then nothing loads, and my document doesn't open. Not sure what's happening?

Hi, I have followed the instructions in this Adobe article: https://www.adobe.com/au/acrobat/roc/blog/how-to-add-gifs-to-pdf.html. I have inserted a .mov file into the InDesign file, and have selected the "Play in loop" option in the media controls. I have also selected the "Play on page load" option.  I then export as an Interactive PDF, and open in Acrobat (fresh install today). The file plays on page load only after giving the file permission. The problem: The file does not play in a loop, it plays once and defaults back to the poster frame. There are also no controls that allow it to be restarted. I believe I have followed only steps specified by Adobe, so I don't understand why this isn't working as expected. Any suggestions? (I am on a Mac, if relevant)

On Windows 11 24H2, when we open up a new InDesign document (either from local drive or network drive), InDesign will freeze after about 5 minutes.  It will freeze for about 10 minutes and then start working normally again.  It then no longer freezes while we have InDesign document(s) opened.  It's as if it does something shortly after it's opened that causes the freeze and either finishes or times out then works normally again.  We have tried to re-create our preferences folder.  We have verified that our proxy server is not blocking any needed web addresses.  We have tried InDesign 20.3.1, 20.4, 20.4.1 and the newly released 20.5 with the same problem.  We have tried to chat with support, but they were not helpful and kept disconnecting our chats.  Has anyone experienced this issue?  Thank you.

 I want to copy the pages right after the selected ones using the "alt" key. However, when I press "alt" while moving the selected pages, nothing appears. The copy symbol only appears if I move the cursor a bit further, but then the copied pages end up at the end of the document instead of where I want them. This problem doesn't occur with just one page; it only happens when I try to copy multiple pages. What could be causing this issue? I know about a Move pages command but I found it more complicated than regular mouse dragging.    

Hi! I'm having a problem with the alt text language. I need to change it automatically in indd.I changed the language in the document, but it didn't work.Does anyone have a solution?(I have the possibility to change it manually but there are too many documents)

Wir haben folgendes Problem: In Dokument A haben wir dieses Absatzformate angelegt. Wenn wir das Absatzformat in ein neues Dokument B aus Dokument A laden, erscheinen einige Formateinstellungen, die so nicht eingerichtet wurden. Auch bei dem Versuch, das Absatzformat in die Library zu laden, führt dazu, dass beim Laden in ein neues Dokument C irgendwelche neuen Formateinstellungen geladen werden (in der Library scheint alles noch zu stimmen). Woran liegt das? Müssen wir irgendeine Voreinstellung ändern, damit Absatzformate auch wirklich so übernommen werden, wie sie ursprünglich angelegt wurden? Danke schonmal für eure Hilfe.

Hello Adobe Community I'm using Indesign and have created a table, the upper cells row I have done as Header and introduced an image in each cell. The header repeats in each single page after and this is fine. The problem appears when exporting in pdf where the header appears only on the first page and not on the followings. File was created with CS3 first than converted to the last indesign. Thanks alot for your help. Beppe

This is a new behavior I have observed with the latest InDesign update. I am running Version 18.0 x64 on Windows 11.   When I hit the Setup button on the Print dialog, instead of going to the printer-driver-specific dialog, I get a generic Windows Print dialog. If I click on the More Settings button on this dialog, I can get to the printer-specific dialog I want, but all the settings in that dialog have reverted to their defaults, and I need to reset them all. The settings revert to default even if I print the document again immediately. Previous versions of InDesign went straight to the printer-specific dialog, and saved the preferred settings there not only from one print to another, but as part of the file when saved and reloaded.    Is there some setting to turn off the call to the Windows generic dialog? Having to reset everything in the printer dialog for every print is time consuming, and a source of errors.    <Title renamed by moderator>

I have to add a paragraph style to all the chapters in a book, and I'm wondering if there's a way to do this as a batch rather than "Load paragraph styles" chapter by chapter. Any ideas?

I have about 15 mostly single page indd files that I need to merge into one InDesign file so I can run a script to change page size. Anyone know how to do it? Book option doesn't work. 

I'm having issues in the above environment. The 2020 version works OK but this new version is giving me fits. I can start a file and then sometimes when saving it tells me the file needs repairs or worse it tells me the file is corrupt and can't be saved. Sometimes it does save and reopen. Still giving me problems when I save. I can make PDFs that represent where the work was when I finished. I can't work this way anybody have any suggestions?

I'm trying to display some Arabic text in an InDesign document. It's a label which should read:المنطقة الباردة However, because the text box wraps over two lines, it's displaying as:المنطقةالباردة As you can see, this is bottom to top, rather than top to bottom. I've also attached a screenshot from within InDesign, showing it incorrect (on two lines) and correct (on one line). I am using the Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer, and character direction is set as Right to Left.I feel like I've hunted through all the settings, and searched online for an answer, but I can't find it anywhere! Can someone please point me towards what I'm assuming will be a very simple fix!

Hi, I'm having an issue where my fonts look correct in the InDesign document, but when I export to PDF, some fonts, seemingly at random, will change to other ones. I have had this issue on a few different documents in the past, and have been able to just create outlines of the type to deal with it, but it's becoming frustrating. I have the most up-to-date version and have attached visuals of what happens. Appreciate any help! after export before export before exportafter export

Looking through the docs and some example code in github for the InDesing APIs through Firefly services I can see that the input/output assets list AWS S3, Dropbox, and Azure as the supported assets. However it looks like these are just utilizing signed/ pre-signed URLs, and they are not the only cloud services which support this style of access to assets.   Is it possible to use a different cloud storage system for assets with Firefly InDesign APIs assuming it can generate a signed url for use by the Adobe backends? Specifically I want to know if it is possible to utilize these APIs with signed URLs for Google Cloud Storage assets.   From the reading the docs, I strongly doubt this would work as is, since there's likely a domain based whitelist for these assets. Hi. The other day, all my CS5 apps were working fine. I had a project open in InDesign that was missing some fonts, so I installed the fonts and tried to restart InDesign to make the fonts register, and the app would no longer open. When I click on the app icons, I get a quick spinning wheel, then nothing happens. Task manager shows no trace of the app being open. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, and at first, just attempting to uninstall gave me a Runtime Error. Today, I was able to reinstall the software, but the apps are still not responding. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

Hi! I created a 3D rectangle in Indesign using only lines. How can I fill that "rectangle" with white color so that it's not transparent? Since it's not recognized as an actual rectangle, it doesn't fill it for me. I need to stack these 3D rectangles for a project I'm doing but don't want the lines from the rectangle underneath to be showing. Anyone know how to fix this?Thanks!

I am trying to use the new 2025 version of InDesign - but it is really unusable. Running latest version (20.3) on Macos (15.4). Mac Studio with M2 Max CPU and 32 GB memory. One major issue I am having is that when I select a text box, it will actually not select the box until I move the mouse again. I click the box and nothing happens. When I start moving the mouse - it suddenly gets selected. If I do not move the mouse - nothing is selected - until I move the mouse. This makes it impossible to use. I've seen some tip on Document Font folder or Contextual Task Bar or Magnet app - but none of those are relevant for me. InDesign 2024 version (19.5.2) works fine and it does not have these issues. I did a test on my Macbook Pro (Apple Silicon) - and no issue there - even using the same mouse as on the Mac Studio. I see some posts that Adobe has fixed InDesign with latest update - but that is definitely not correct...   I uploaded a video to YouTube showing the issue. In the video one

Becoming increasingly frustrated with this.Copy text box from a document and paste it into a new document, and the text will alter its position within the text box. I am assuming its a background format/preference interacting on the new document.I have looked at the settings between documents for text frame options (baseline) and that isnt the solution. I have checked the indesign preferences have pasting text and tables all information is checked - but it doesn't change the outcome.Have also checked it isn't reacting to a grid - and again the document settings seem the same - so no conflict there.Does anyone have any idea of any other things to check?

I've inserted an image into some text (blacked-out shape). It's got no object wrap, it's set to the same body paragraph style as the rest of the text before and after it.  The highlighted return is the return between the inline image and the paragraph next to it in the next column. You can see the bounding box of the inset image is above the return and the text at the bottom of the page is really far down from the stuff above it. There should be space for the final line of text to within the margins but it doesn't because this return is so low compared to where the image is.  The image is made of a group of assets. I've checked every single one, both the bouncing box and the link/image placed inside it and none of them have wraps which would be causing this additional space.  The paragraph style for the sub title under the image does not have any "space before" and the "space after" of the body text is also not as large as the space I have.
