Hi commnunity. Is there a method to select multiple text on a page, for exaple I have highlighted the text WELCOME, but would like to highlight more text (Underline Red Line) within the paragraph to make these words Bold. I tried holding shift, ctrl, alt, incase it worked, but didnt do the trick. Thank you 

I've enabled the Japanese version so I could type vertically and the page numbers get unevenly spaced between certain numbers .  All three boxes have the same formatting, except the first is a Japanese font. The issue seems to be that the "1" in my font of choice (second two boxes) is spaced differently than other numbers. Is there a way to get all of these to space evenly automatically? None of the tracking, kerning, leading, line height etc. options seem to remedy this. 

Hello, everyone. I have a question, that I suspect I know the answer to already... but I need to ask, in the event that someone might be able to identify aworkaround. Here's my dilemma: I work on ads for a major retail chain, and at the very end of Production, we have to make updates to our products star ratings reviews to the most recent number — which have grown since the time we began production. Problem is, it's tedious and time-consuming. I am trying to devise a way to automate, if not simplify, this process. My first idea was to create a new file and import, via our automation process, updated reviews (which reside on their own Layer) from one InDesign file to another. If I could move an entire layer from one file to the next, it would be the silver bullet. Unfortunately, InDesign does not appear to allow one to move an entire layer the way it allows you to Move Pages or Append Style Sheets, etc.Does anyone have any ideas on how I might be able to execute this move

For example:I dragged to select three cells. I want to access each selected cell individually to control them separately.var cells= app.selection;alert(cells.length); My goal is to obtain cell[i].but,  It seems to return 1 instead of 3.  

I need to get my document pages to go the opposit way.For example the first page has to be the last, and vice versahow can I do that??

Hi - i have an older version of Indesign; CS6, and all of the sudden, the interface font in the application bar has turned into all italics. I cannot get rid of those. I have downloaded a bunch of fonts, but that does not seem to be it. What can I do?Thanks, Eva

I use illustrator a lot, and so I have presets for all the document sizes I regularly use. I am wondering if there is an easy way to just transfer all of these presets to Indesign so that I don't have to go through the process of doing them all manually again?

I exported a fixed layout epub from ID 20.5. The footnote reference in the text was not visible, but the footnote at the bottom was visible and the number was correct. I repeated this 12 times, trying different things like removing character styles on the reference mark, etc. Nothing worked. I am attaching a screen snap showing one example.  .What can I do to fix this problem?

How do I set the Color sliders in InDesign to behave like the Color sliders in Illustrator and Photoshop? If I work from the top down - set a Hue (zero degrees, red), then Saturation (zero) and then slide the Brightness - why doesn’t the Brightness bar color strip go from black (darkest) to WHITE (brightest)? Right now the Brightness slider goes from black to the brightess possible color of the hue selected at full saturation (red, in this case), ignoring the Saturation value. Neither Saturation nor Brightness in InDesign adjust dynamically when sliding the other. 

I'm looking for a pro solution to translate 160-page A5 indesign documents.I saw that there are plug-ins like Translator PRO that uploads my file to an external server and should return it translated.I don't like this aspect very much (sending the layout to an external server). Do you know of other professional solutions to translate indesign documents? thx

Hi!I downloaded this magazine template for InDesign. and I can't figure out how to remove the pagenumbers in the upper corner.I've tried just about everything I can think of, but I can't remove it.Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. 

 

My daily use of Indesign (19.5.5) all of a sudden is broken and I can't any more move objects. It usually occurs after a while, allowing me to work normally for about 30 min, then randomly moving or trimmering an object with the arrows causes the freeze of the program. I've already made the usal attempts to recover by working on a copy, rebuild from skratch the document and change the value in preference (units and rulers) (in mm) but the problem persists. Anyone facing the same issue? Thanks

I’m working on creating an interactive PDF that includes four buttons. Each button is intended to open the same external local PDF file, but to a different specific page within that file. I’ve already created the buttons, and I’ve tried using the Button action with “Open File.” However, this only allows me to select the file, it doesn’t provide an option to specify a page number. I also experimented with the Hyperlink option: Link To > File. While I can select the external PDF, I’m unable to set it to open to a specific page. Under “Hyperlink Destination Options,” when I set the type to Page, I can’t change the page number beyond 1. For example, if I set it to page 3, I receive an error stating that the document only has one page, even though the external PDF has multiple pages. Any guidance or workaround to achieve this functionality would be greatly appreciated! InDesign 2025, Windows 11...

Hi Community. I have a yellow button, and I'd like to make this an interactive element. When I hover-(roll over) over the Yellow  button, the text appears, and when I hover off-(Roll over), the text disappears. Im too confused about the button panel, I cant get it to function properly.  Thank you.  

Hi,I'm able to create the hyperlink to open external pdf file. But is there any chance to open this external pdf file on the specific page or location? I tried to assign the page via "Hyperlink Destination Options" but it doesn't work.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm a complete newbie in InDesign. I have a 144 page document with text and images which I need to translate from Spanish to Dutch about music instruments. I'm used to machine translating, then correcting it. In this case, I would prefer to machine translate it within the InDesign document as it would be very inefficient to extract all text boxes one for one, translate it in deepL, then place in the correct boxes again. I tried figuring this out via ChatGPT with no luck. It seems there might have been a machine translation feature which changed/ was removed with this newest version of InDesign? I work on IOS and am happy to purchase a plugin of some sort as long as it's not too expensive (up until 20euros it's fine) if it works. I have a book in English that all paragraph and charachter styles are already set, now I need to make a copy of english styles and change all at once to Spanish, is there any easy way in Indesign to change all at once without clicking on each paragraph style and change to spanish one by one?Remmeber I don't make style from scratch, only changing previous styles. I use Indesign CS6Has Adobe any script for that?

Both Illustrator and InDesign crash when I open them. This only happens on my desktop. They work fine on my laptop. A blue circle flashes continuously next to the cursor, and when I go to “File” in the top left corner of the toolbar, for example, nothing happens; I can't open that menu. Photoshop works fine. I've already updated Illustrator and InDesign, uninstalled and reinstalled the programs, but that doesn't help. Has anyone else experienced this?

This is a problem that existed in Indesign in the last years and I don't know how to overcome. I have a 150 page price list. Every product has an image and there are 2x7 cells on a page, totalling 740 cells. I have 21 layers, each layer representing different currencies and different languages.When exporting I turn on-off some layers to generate the correct PDF's. After the first export is finished, Indesign hangs (not responding) for a half minute. After consecutive exports are finished, the hang time is gradually increased, reaching several minutes. Therefore an export session is a painfully slow and annoying task.I am experiencing the same with all big documents (I am making product catalogues of 150+ pages).I think, Indesign has serious memory leaks and bugs related to export PDF. These "reset settings" and "save to idml" things aren't working. Should I send my indd files to Adobe to reproduce the trouble for the developers? If I foresee correctly, next year, when we will

Hi. Im translating several magazines from danish to english. I of course re-use all the layout, som when I paste the english text into the "old" danish textboxes, InDesign will of course still treat each textbox as if it was danish. So I must change each textbox into the correct language. Otherwise I will get problems with hyphenation and eventually spelling, when I in the end - when running spellcheck - realise - I still have a lot of textboxes I have forgot to change. (And I have hundreds and hundreds). My question is: Is there a way to make an overall change for the entire document, like "Change all textboxes to English" ? This have been an issue for years, and I still haven't been able to find the answer - So any help will be welcome. Thanks.
