InDesign

Hello everyone, I need to generate a price list containing thousands of references each week. I would like to automate the process with an InDesign script. My current challenge is to generate a list of products for the same category in single record template and to start a new page for the next category. Ideally, I would like to have the category name at the top of each page. Hi, I'm trying to make a book typeset and want these four different pictures flanking my page numbers. I put them in my masterpages that i applied to every chapter, it all works well untill I export my document into a pdf, then it chooses one of the pictures to apply on both sides of the page number, I have no idea why and no idea how to fix it, does anyone know what the problem is?

why when I put in a glyph does it not bold properly as per the paragraph style? 

Wenn ich in InDesign aus dem Vollbildmodus komme (Shift+w),dann sehe ich plötzlich den unteren Rand des InDesign fenstersnicht mehr, weil er außerhalb des Bildschirms ist. Ich mussdann oben entsprechend doppelklicken, damit sich das Fensterwieder richtig an den Bildschirm anpasst.Ich habe das Problem seit Wochen.

why is it not placing in the frame which is already split into two paragraphs? see  video attached please   <Title renamed by MOD>  

During my free trial period i had a document that i've amended and saved several times.  the free period has ceased and i tried to open the document and an window appears stating the file is damaged (error code 4).  this happens with every document that i open.  i've paid today to have indesign for the year and the documents still will not open and still gives the error code 4 window.   Help.

Syncing but unable to sync!?

ID 16.0.2In find and replace, the ability to find within a 'story' or to the 'end of story' has disappeared - meaing you have to F&R the whole document - which isnt useful! Please can you resinstate it, and let me know why it was removed? Or is this just a glitch?

Hey all, Indesign keeps desyncing my fonts, and today, it won't even resync them for me.Farnham text is a brand font that I use daily, is there a way I can keep it from ever desyncing? Sometimes it even happens when I'm in the middle of editing a document.Thanks for the help! 

Working off an NAS server; 2 large files became damaged, no issues previously, about 1.5 weeks apart. Cannot locate "recovery" folder or any files in "#recycle" folder. Changed Data Recovery folder destination (Preferences > File Handling) by creating new folder, restarted ID, rec'd same message.Of note: both files update yearly (i.e.open previous file, “save as” then info deleted/updated/etc). Both files originally created at least 7-8 years ago, possibly longer than that. Could damage/corruption be from using an old file, as opposed to copying needed info from a “fresh” ID doc? Any insight appreciated.

I created a QR code in InDesign for a client using the Business Card template and slapped it on the project and sent a proof. I was then told that the iPhone couldn't recognize it and on Android it "looked all weird". I scanned it myself from the screen and got the same results. Has this InDesign feature become obsolete or something? My phones have the latest software updates so i don't see why it can't recognize a simple vcard.... this technology has been around for over a decade.

HiI'm have a problem with my file. I can't Open file after 20.0 updating. It just appear coverting file pop-up only.  So can I back to previous indesign version or can i do anything that make it open again Thank you.      <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi everyone, I am exporting high res pdf's for a book. My problem is, when I export the pdf's the colours take on a very slight green hue and appear a bit darker. All of my images are CMYK, the document is set to CMYK and the output settings are set to CMYK Fogra. i am viewing the pdf's in acrobat so I assume the viewer isn't the problem Can anyone tell me why this is happening and a possible solution? Thank you!

I just updated my indesign app and now I can't drag and drop images into a frame like i previously could... Now every time I drag and drop an image, it creates a brand new frame. Is there a setting I'm missing that I need to change? Or is this feature been completely abandoned?Please help!

I was sent an InDesign file to copyedit and when I opened the Story Editor, all the text was backwards! Also when I try to type something in the Notes field (not in Story Editor), it's also backwards. The owner of the file doesn't know what's caused it. The actual text in layout looks fine.

I don't understand why Adobe, which provides GPU support for Photoshop, doesn't do it in InDesign on Windows. Why? At least allow computers with integrated cards, e.g. Intel Arc and dedicated NVIDIA RTX 1000 Ada, to choose the dedicated one. Since there is no way to do it through Windows settings or Nvidia panel, it doesn't switch to the dedicated card, despite these settings, InDesign stays on the integrated one. Why? We also don't have the option in the computer BIOS to use only one card or set priority. Please improve this. My hardware configuration far exceeds the requirements of this program, and yet InDesign runs very slowly.

Is there a way I can adjust the spacing between the text and the para shading style for ebooks? Example below, I want it to be close to the print version but the ebook removes all spacing even after I try offsetting the shading.

I am having trouble importing a module. I don't know if the module file should be idjs or js but I have tried both and they don't work. I am getting an error on the require script.UXPScript Error!Error String: Module not found: "../../Samples/alert". Parent module folder was: "/"

The box for catalog styles is too small, and it is sometimes inconvenient to select which styles to extract as a catalog. Is it possible to manually put all the paragraph styles to be extracted into a group? After running the script, all the paragraph styles in the group will be added to the catalog extraction dialog.This is handy if you have a lot of directory entries.For example: group name (Need extra)style name:aa1 aa2 bb1 bb1If possible, you can also create styles for them directly in the catalog (preceded by an @ for the corresponding reference):@aa1 @aa2 @bb1 @bb2

When I open InDesign the menu bar is there, but none of the menus respond—well, the "File" menu flashes on and then off, and never again. I have to force quit to leave the program. I have restarted the computer, I have repaired CC, and I have deleted and reinstalled InDesign many times today. Thinking it might be a connection problem, I tried to start up the program from my desktop. It won't respond. When it did briefly work, it quickly stopped responding. Could this be a hardware problem? I'm trying without much success to be patient with the software.

A week or so ago I accidentally clicked a button to allow Indesign (or Adobe?) to automatically activate fonts that are missing from a document. I can't find where to turn this feature off.Cheers, Mike
