InDesign

I made a script that takes the selected image in indesign, sends it to photoshop, uses the select subject command, masks it and saves it as a tiff with transparancy. This is just for rough cut outs and it speed up my workflow quite a bit but I'm running into one snag. Indesign isn't updating the link. I tried onResult with a delay but thats not working. I end up having to refresh the link manually which isn't the end of the world but it would be nice to not have to do that. Hi,I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem or knows of any possible trouble shooting ideas. When I create an object and fill it with a color, then adjust the transparency of the object horizontal lines appear. The lines will change as I move the object or overlay it with another transparent object. These lines do not appear when I export the composition. I am using Windows 10. I have updated the computer and the graphics drivers. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program with it's default settings. See below for examples:

I have multiple parameters in my library function like this:function creatStyle(paraStn, tabStn, contiParaStn, bodyParaStn, headerParaStn, bodyStn, headerStn, contiStn, footerStn, capLStn, capCStn, capCSDhtn)I have multiple main programs, and every time I've changed a parameter in the library, I have to go and change each of them, forgetting parts and getting errors that will make me look for half a day.Is there any way to make:creatStyle(......) ;withfunction creatStyle(......) ;always be automation consistent.I change the parameters of the function in the library, and it is automatically updated in the main program.

For the last few months, my InDesign file icons are white squares.  I hoped that the new version, which I installed today, might fix this annoying issue. But no dice. I've tried some of the suggestions (resetting default program for .indd files, resetting my icon cache, etc.) No luck. I am running Windows 11. Suggestions to fix this issue? Thanks.

I feel like I'm losing my mind. I've tried everything to fix this text from disappearing when I adjust the box. Ignore text wrap is on. It's not aligned to the baseline grid. It's on a completely blank spread. It does this even when the bullet points aren't there. I've also updated the application, running on v20.4. Anything I look up, it just gives me the same options. Someone please help

I was using Indesign the the tool set with the three subject eraser disappeared. How can I recoup this set? Thank you! 

I've created a territory sales map that includes an interactive US map that anchors to pages for individual states (the document is long). In addition to the map I have a list of names, emails and phone numbers. The emails are not working. There are no dots in the status bar but instead I get an envelope icon. When I look at the preflight panel it tells me there are no errors. I am setting up my emails by going to Hyperlinks->URL-> and then typing mailto:email.address@co.com. I uncheck "Shared Hyperlink Destinaton" and there are no extra spaces. I even tried setting up as Email then typing email address. Sometimes I end up with extra characters in the URL so I delete the hyperlink and type it again. I've tried all the things ChatGPT and google tells me and the email links still open a web browser instead of email. I attached a version with hyperlinks listed for the first few names on pg 2 under Alabama so you can see what I'm working with. Please help?

Hello everyone, I am often working with different screen sizes, moving from a wider screen to smaller; it happened to me that a pop-up window - in this case, the Find&Replace window - got stuck in the screen's corner and I am unable to move it from there because - obviously for some reason - the enabling control element is only in the top bar of such windows. I have written a book and have around 100 images ( single image for every chapter ). The print version layourt is enclosed. But when I try to export the EPUB  version the image size is not 100% as per the print version. Both the versions screenshots are enclosed. What is the solution to export so that the image appears as in the print version. KIndly check the enclosures.

Hello,I'm a professional book designer. Since last Friday's update, all eBooks are exporting with the entire TOC generating (RSC-005) errors--every link. I'm exporting 3.0. I reexported an older project which was good and it has same errors. This is a BUG. I had tech support access my computer, and he says it's not and that Adobe doesn't care about 3rd party verification. However, VENDORS do and have rejected the eBook. Can anyone help? My business is dead in the water until this is resolved.Thank you, Christine  

When I use the system black and export to PDF the black takes up the colour boxes behind it. No overprint fill on blank new doc used to create below. If I make a new black all is fine only issue with system default black

Tried everything - I just want to copy/cut and paste text. I keep getting this (see attached) running Office 365.  This is the worst nightmare because we know Adobe will blame MSOFT and MSoft will blame Adobe, and I am stuck. If I try to export the file to RTF it just exports the first text frame....:( Any ideas? SF

Whenever I try and save as my work to my laptop is freezes and I cant close the application unless I close it in task manager. It is version 20.4 InDesign on a windows laptop

I'm doing a layout for a book that is primarily in English but also has some passages in a dozen other languages. No problem with any fonts from the original Word doc for most of the other languages, except Nirmala UI (Hindi) and Malgun Gothic (Korean) - when I place the chapters that include passages in those fonts, I get an error message saying Adobe doesn't support them, and the characters appear as pink blanks on the screen. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternate fonts for these languages that Adobe does support? I'm running inDesign 20.0.1MacBook ProOS Sequoia 15.2 

I've read a few clever answers now on how to clear Paragraph Style overrides, thanks!My question is: where do these overrides come from? I work with many product catalogs that all use the same paragraph styles. Seems that no matter how careful I am at creating clean styles and using them consistently, whenever I copy-paste text from one document to another, or move pages from one document to another, or even save a document one day and open it the next, Overrides are applied to Paragraph styles.These are typically overrides that seem obscure and don't affect the appearance of the text, e.g. "drop cap align left edge - drop cap descenders" or IdeoSpaceBehavior diacritic" so clearing overrides has no affect on the appearance of the document, but I don't want to just ignore it. Any ideas?

The book I'm working on is coming along. I've imported the chapter files and gone through the entire thing making cross-chapter hyperlinks, always opening individual chapters from within the book panel. In the last edition, which was in ID but which I did not do, I sent the publisher what it called External Assets. Those are files predominantly in pdf format, though some are docx. (I can always convert those to pdf.) I want to have hyperlinks in the book to those documents but do not want to paste the documents themselves into the text, so Place is inappropriate. Can I import those documents into the indb file and then just hyperlink to them as if they were material in another chapter? If not, how do I set up the links? (I suppose it's always possible that the publisher uploads them to its web site, so the hyperlinks go to a URL, just as many of the hyperlinks in the text do.) Many thanks.

I'm a photographer and primarily use Photoshop and Lightroom. I've used InDesign since its first release (and Pagemaker before then) so I'm not a total newbie. I primarily use InDesign to custom-print promos from my Canon PRO-1000 printer. It's been a good 9-10 months since I printed anything. The past couple of days I've been working on some new promo pieces with InDesign 2024. I updated my Windows 11 probably about two or three months ago to the most recent build. I was surprised when I went to print the promo piece. Instead of bringing up the usual interface, there's a brand new one. Though I had chosen my Canon printer in InDesign, the Windows print interface still showed my default printer, my Ricoh laser.  Through that interface, I had to reach the Canon printer driver. I adjusted my settings as needed and printed.  I didn't like the results, so I hit CTRL-P again, and the Windows print had reverted back to the laser printer. As a result, I had to reselect the
