Hello,I'm new to InDesign and Illustrator and have questions please. I apologise if these are basic, but I'm starting with no knowledge here.  I can purchase Adobe software throughy university for a reduced rate. However, I'm not sure whether my laptop - a HP Pavilion intel core i3 7th generation (according to the sticker.... And yup, this is how basic my knowledge is)... Can run it.  Can anyone help please? Where on my xomputer do I find a run down of my laptop specifications? And how do I know if this will be able to run InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop etc?  With thanks,Ro,

Hello everyone! Since yesterday, I noticed a serious problem about Id. My last job is a 800pages Physics book. There are some things that keep happening every day and i am 100% sure that I solved them the day beforea) I keep change the font style to specific paragraph styles, from medium to bold EVERY DAY! Why they arent be saved? b) When I open a previous file, ALWAYS the pictures are moved in some other positions. All the pictures are in Anchor and suddenly the anchor is lostc) THE MOST TERRIBLE... After the previous update, many files, at the opening, I received the pop up message " The file is damaged", without any advice of recovery. So, I just "lost" 80 pages?  Whta is happening... 😒😒😒

I've been using Indesign for a long time and have never had these problems before. Suddenly when I export a pdf, they are all exporting to very large sizes. I just went into an old file and updated 2 photos (replaced them with slightly different ones). This should have produced a file that was pretty much the same size as the previous version, once I exported to pdf. The older version file size was 972 KB. This latest one that I just saved was 198 MB. None of my files seem to be embedded... I'm not seeing the embedded file icon next to any of them.What could be causing this? I'm having weird troubles with all of my Adobe Programs right now and this one seemed to crop up at the same time. People have been suggesting that maybe I need a new graphics card. Could this sort of issue be related?Thanks for you your help!- Sarah

Die Einstellung der Grundlinienrasters sollte über ein extra Fenster erfolgen, bei dem mittels Live Preview das Raster zu sehen ist. Außerdem sollte die erste Zeile des Grunlinienrasters auf die Versalhöhe des Grundtextes einstellbar sein. Die bisherige Einstellung über das Voreinstellungsfenster ist sehr mühsam.

Hi, I have nearly finished designing my first book and have had so much help in this community, I am very grateful. I am so close to getting this to the printers, which is very exciting. I would really appreciate if you could help me with what I think are my last steps to be sure it prints correctly.    Firstly, could you please confirm I have set the cover width correctly. (I googled how to, so hopefully I have got it right). It has 40 inside pages and I plan to use 80gsm and a 250 to 300 gsm cover. Based on google, I have calculated 4mm width for the spine but would really appreciate your real life experience.    Also, I am wondering if you can tell from looking at the screenshot below if I have set bleed up correctly. I set bleed to 3mm all round in the settings, as per what the printer asked for. But I did some dragging in the document itself.    I want the whole document to have the green background but I’ve changed the colour of the back cover on lef

I'm using InDesign 2025 on a PC. I'm trying to create a photo book in one of the Blurb templates. I've done several of these, and every one uses the same master pages. I've created a grey background that I use throughout the Blurb book.I googled how to copy the master pages from a source document to a new one, and every time I go into Layout-Pages, the ability to Load Pages is either grayed out, or not showing up at all. I have done this before but forgot how to do it. The more I google, the more confused I am getting. Can anyone give me simple instructions as to how to do it, please? I must be highlighting something incorrectly. Thank you.

Hello! I'm making a book for my final design collection and printing it through B&N. I made it originally in .AI then placed the artboards into InDesign. I have the .125 bleed set and the .5 and .75 margins as B&N asks but when ever I go to upload the file it keeps saying the documnt (11x8.5) is too big (11.25x8.75). I uploaded it once correctly but my bleed was not properly extending, so I know the size is correct and I believe it is something to do with the bleed? I also read another thread on her that said to not choose any of the printers marks when exporting as .pdf to save and I have been clicking "use documents bleed settings" which are also set to .125.This is my first time doing this so any help is appreciated. Screenshots to show

Whenever I type a lot of texts in a cell of the table, the cell moves to the next page from where the cell was. Is there the way to let the cell flows between pages?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello!When I export an Indesign CC interactive PDF with multiple pop-up throughout the document, I can only activiate the pop-up feature by clicking on the first instance of the pop up. example. I click on pg 30 with a pop-up feature, it does not work. I have to go page to the first page that has a pop-up feature and click on that pop-up. Once I click on the first instance of the pop-up feature, all the pop up will work fine.Anyone else have this issue? not sure if it is an Indesign issue or Acrobat issue.Thanks,Colleen

I've got a perfect ecxport from INDD to Epub except for the fact that two pages, the first page of chapter 31 and the first page of chapter 59 have been duplicated and inserted at the end of the EPUB. There is nothing different about these pages concerning layout or paragraph style from all the other chapters. There are no blank pages in the document. Has anyone run into this problem before and HOW do I fix it?! I have done all the things I know to do and nothing is helping.   <Title renamed by MOD>  

Hi everyone, I am working on a book cover for print. For some reason, the first quotation mark appears to be outside of the text box. Why is this happening, and is there a way to fix it? 

Hallo Community, um ein weiters Tool (Easy Catalogue) mit deren Lizenz nutzen zu können und die kompatibilität mit den Macs der Kollegen zu haben, brauche ich die Version 17.4 von Adobe InDesign 2022. Allerdings kann diese nicht mehr über die Creative Cloud heruntergeladen werden.Gibt es da noch eine Möglichkeit? Wir sind gerade in einer dringenden Phase zur Abgabe unseres KAtalogs. Eine Aktualisierung der Adobe Version auf Neu ist aktuell nicht möglich.Hier meine Mac Version, falls relevant: 

Hi All,I regularly compile a Senior's newsletter and whenever I use 'Text Wrap' the text on the page becomes pixelated (jagged). The issue appears to be with Transparency Blend Space., specifically when this is set to CMYK. The newsletter is printed and I would assume the Blend Space needs to be CMYK. You can see the imperfect text when the document is exported to PDF for printing and then printed. The attached image shows two pages. The same [regular] font is used on both pages. It occurs regardless of what font I use. Has anyone else had this issue and overcome it? 

Why is this happening? How do I fix it? Help please!

I've seen post form 2018 regarding the Adjust Payout Layout freezing, but not since then. Based on the response the updates should have fixed the issue, but it is still an issue for me. It appears to be processing, but the Adjust Layout pop-up gets to 80% and then the color wheel of death appears. I've let it sit for over 20 minutes and end up force quiting the program.  I've installed the latest version of CC2019 and still the issue persist. I need to get this project updated so we can move forward with publishing.

since I've upgraded Indesign I can't make a sharp PDF (for print, PDF/X1a 2001). When I look at the jpg's that are imported they are very blurry. The files are exactly the sameones that I've printed earlier. Nothing changed. Link is ok.someone that knows whats wrong here?

Hello everyone,I’m facing an issue with an InDesign file that keeps crashing. The file is named “606.”Initially, I edited the file on my computer without any problems. About five days later, I uploaded it to Adobe Creative Cloud to collaborate with my team members. (They mentioned they could open the file but hadn’t made any edits yet... Yep, I’ve got a great team...)When I open the file from Creative Cloud and click "Edit," it works but occasionally crashes (e.g., every 1 to 5 minutes). This issue frustrated me so much that I saved the file to my desktop. However, all the saved copies cannot be opened for editing. My screen just goes black.I’ve tried opening the “606” file and its saved copies on others’ computers, but the results are just as bad.I hope someone can help rescue the “606” file—and me.Thanks in advance!     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi!I have a problem with the exportation of an Indesign document where I'm creating some buttons, I already used the option to have hyperlinks to link the page and create bookmarks, but nothing worked. Every time I try to export the document I have the same warning 'The Go To Page button action is not supported in PDF. The button appearance will be preserved but its interactivity will be dropped'Can someone help me with this? I have the 20.2 version of Indesign  

why is the aspect ratio in indesign always off? i have to turn it on everytime i have to resize an object.it used to retain its last position used.is this a bug or is there a way around making default the proportionate resizing?mac os 15.1.1indesign 20.0

Hi, I’m confused about the UX design for the font system in CC. Often when opening an older project, the fonts have been deactivated and I have to activate them to start working.I can’t find any easy way to do this. So I’m guessing I misunderstand something, because the process right now doesn’t seem well designed. This is the workflow I’m stuck with: Option 11.Opening a file and realizing the font is not syncing.2.Opening CC and searching for the font.3.The search result sends me to the font on the Adobe Fonts website (and not to the font in CC).4.The font looks like it’s installed and working, but I have to uninstall it and then install it again. Option 2 Open the Fonts tab in CC and scroll to the font I want to activate.But since all fonts are expanded and I have 300+ fonts, it would take me 15 minutes to scroll and find it. Am I missing something, or why is this process so complicated?Why can’t the CC search send me to the font inside CC rather than the web
