Hallo liebe Community,ich hoffe, hier kann mir jemand bei meinem Problem weiterhelfen, da ich bislang weder in der Hilfe-Dokumentation noch in bestehenden Forenbeiträgen eine Lösung finden konnte. Falls es bereits einen passenden Eintrag zu meinem Anliegen gibt, wäre ich für einen entsprechenden Link sehr dankbar.Zu meinem Problem: Ich möchte gerne InDesign auf meinem PC installieren. Laut meines Creative Cloud Accounts ist dies auch möglich. Ich habe die Setup-Datei von der offiziellen Adobe-Website heruntergeladen. Sobald ich diese allerdings durch einen Doppelklick starten möchte, öffnet sich lediglich die Adobe Creative Cloud-Anwendung, und es folgen keine weiteren Anweisungen zur Installation. Auch eine automatische Installation startet nicht.Ich habe zudem festgestellt, dass InDesign in meiner Creative Cloud nicht als auswählbares Produkt angezeigt wird, was mich ebenfalls irritiert, da es in meinem Abo enthalten sein sollte. InDesign is insisting on printing duplex, even when the "two sided" checkbox under "Printer" is unchecked. All my other programs print single sided.  What is the fix for this?

Hallo,ich versuche ein Katalog d.h. ein großes Dokument mit über 450 Seiten und vielen Bildern zu exportieren. Aber nach dem Prozess, welches min. 20 Minuten dauert, kommt eine Meldung, dass der PDF Export fehlgeschlagen ist. Als mögliche Problemlösung wird mir neben dem OK-Button dieser Link angeboten. Aber da komme ich auch nicht weiter.Nachdem ich dann mit OK bestätigt habe, kommt dann eine weitere Meldung:Was ich auch nicht verstehe, da das gesamte Dokument nur bis Seite 458 geht.Ich habe es mit Interaktiven, sowie Druck-PDFs versucht. In der Vergangenheit hatte ich schön öfters damit Probleme. Mal funktioniert der Export und manchmal nicht. Weiß jeden Rat zu schätzen. VG,Sahin

How do I copy and paste something so that it appears in the same position on a different page?

Hi, at the moment I'm importing data from a excel file to a frame via "File -> Place -> "Show import options". In the dialog window I choose the named "cell range" and my predefined "table style". I'm looking for a script which automates this process.For example: In my excel file I have 10 tables (predefined and named via the "cell range") and in my Indesign document I have 10 frames. I think the best approach would be to make it like placing images in Indesign where you can choose 10 images and then put it to frames one image after the other. Is there any way I could do this with a script? Thank you very much in advance.

Hallo zusammen,habe mir vor kurzem das Adobe Paket gekauft und wollte nun mit InDesign arbeiten. Ich kann alte Dokumente öffnen, neue anlegen - aber - ich kann sie nicht bearbeiten. Das Textwerkzeug kann ich auswählen, aber auf dem Dokument kein Textfeld aufziehen, da kommt dann die Hand und ich kann das Dokument bewegen. Auch beim Auswahlwerkzeug kann ich nur das Dokument bewegen.Was habe ich übersehen bzw. muss ich im Vorfeld noch einstellen???Danke schon jetzt für Hilfe!!! 

Hi guys, I have 4 documents, on 3 of them all my destination buttons work.  On the fourth one, there is one button that just won't work...  I have set it up exactly the same as all the rest. Please see attached PDF... on the index page and in the drop down menu on page 3 onwards.  The go to destination forCôte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) just will not work.  I have triedNew pageNew text blockNew masterNew documentText converted to pathsNew bookmarksNew buttonsDuplicating a working button and changing destination And every other button works.  I have run out of ideas for troubleshooting, can anyone assist, urgently please.

This is one of those "surely other people need to do this", and "surely InDesign can do this" but "I have no idea what keywords to hit google with to get an answer" type things!I'm working on a book that has a digitally downloadable version of exactly the same document but with six additional pages.I looked into Alternative Layout and Liquid Layout and those tools seem to be about different page sizes and orientations rather than a book with additional pages in some scenarios.  I also tried 'hide spread', but that seems to be to only make editing the book easier and didn't obey a rebuild of the Table of Contents to _not_ show the hidden pages (so I didn't even try to create a PDF to see if hidden pages are output, I suspect they are). How would you go about producing a book which has two versions, identical except for one has six extra pages and the necessary Table of Contents and page number adjustments to make it happen? Maintaining two different documents isn't a

Hello, we are currently facing a problem in my team when working with Indian languages using InDesign versions 19 and 20 (2024 and 2025).   This is how it looks when we open the file in 2024 and 2025 versions   and this is how it looks (as it should) using 2023 verision   both files are using the exact same settings, fonts, etc, the only difference is the version of InDesign used. I have tried to download again InDesign v18 but is not available any more in the Creative Cloud. We work in a big team and only 2 of the older members have access to InDesign 2023 and that's a problem for us. Are there any solutions for this? Either fix the bug or provide installation for v18 Thanks.   <Title renamed by moderator>  

I am having a problem where lines of text are highlighted yellow for no reason. I checked paragraph styles and made sure no rules were applied, turned off highlighting for hyphenation and justification, and it still shows. Any ideas on how to fix?? 

I can't seem to figure out how to remove the footnote numbering in ebook. I tried unchecking the box in the settings that says restart every after.... also, the footnote para style doesn't have numbers. This started as endnotes but for some reason indesign can't export maybe because there are 91 endnotes...so I converted it to footnotes and now I have this problem.  PLEASE HELP!

This is a bit of a wierd one and hard to explain, but I'm going to try.I've designed a simple form in InDesign for a client. After testing it, everything looked okay, but the client came back telling me it didn't show the fields.After some serious testing trying to recreate the problem, it turns out that it only works 100% of the time when I first open Acrobat before opening the actual file. When Acrobat isn't active yet when clicking the file in Finder to open it, it doesn't show part of the fields and radio buttons. Which one are shown or not is fully random.It also doesn't matter wether fields or buttons are filled in or not. The info is all there, it just doesn't show untill you click it.I hope it's all clear and someone has a solution for this...Regards, Ralf  

When I place graphic files in InDesign it looks terrible. Normally it works perfect. What is wrong?I tried to change from Mac to PC, but that did not help

Hello,  I work at a University and for certain people, the following problem does not exisist. It seems to only be an issue for some that when printing a booklet, random page numbers (like 3,7,11,19,25) will be backwards while everything else in the book looks good. These people are printing in multiples of 4, checking the box for print blank pages, and otherwise setting their files up properly. I have the issue happen to me (has happened to me since I used Adobe on my personal laptop and the same now happens to me (same Adobe info) but on my work laptop (both Mac).  I figure it is something with the print driver and the version of InDesign people start the document with (they then end up all printing from the same print station at school, also a Mac) but it is weird that it only happens to some and not all. Not sure where the issue is arising but I have admin capabilites and can print direct to printer from my laptop and the same still happens.  Using:Sof

Since updating to 2025, we've run into an issue when using the Find/Change window—if we're searching for something that happens to be in overset text, clicking "find" crashes the program. Has anyone else run into this or found a solution? (The file size doesn't matter; it happens on long books and short books alike.)   <Title renamed by MOD>

Is there a way to have all grep-styles that have been applied by paragraph styles, converted to manually applied styling? This is simply to aid in text exporting, as grep styles don't appear to be honoured in any kind of copy/paste,  or otherwise automated export to rich text.Example: copy some text which has been styled by GREP to contain italics, paste into Mac Text Edit, the styles are gone. Any text in the source text that was manually styled transfers correctly.My aim would be to make these changes, carry out my text exports, then close the file without saving (I don't need to keep the converted styles).

I updated Adobe Indesign recently and now it is not flattening transparency at all. I am getting files rejected by the printer and I've had to go through and turn every single image's transparency to 100%, and every PNG

Why are these missing from the export?This started happening when I uploaded the elements to CC Library.I had to export it 5 times to get it to recognize the graphic.Its happened to 3 projects. 

I am having the same or similar problem as Steve [Edit: branched from Indesign 5.5 displays text with ragged edge.]. I have done my best to research this but I cannot figure it out. I am using a Macbook Pro, 15 inch (late2011) with the normal display. I have Leapord 10.7.3. My InDesign is 7.5.2. The text appears jagged, unless zoomed into 100 percent. Here is a screen shot of the problem at 300 percent: And here is the exact same file when I zoom into 100 percent:here is the same text zoomed even more:The typeface is Baskerville. Hello everyone!I've created a catalog design for printing and when I try to export .pdf file so this file disappears after done exporting and I don't get any error from InDesign.. Does anyone knows where can be a problem?Thank you!

Ok so I before I start please don't tell me to use phtoshop for this thanks 🙂 So my issue is RGB's displaying correctly both in indesign and once exported to jpg or png. They work fine if I export to Interactive PDF in RGB mode, so I am curretly exporting to .pdf and saving as a jpg in Photoshop which is annoying and an extra step.  See images the colour on the left is correct #4c11a1Incorrect colour is #502e90 Interestingly when I open the colour swatch it tells me that the colour is 'out of Gamut' and if I click to correct it changes it to a very similar colour to #502e90, which is my theory of what it is doing.  I've tried changing the RGB profile, currently sRGB IEC61966-2.1 and nothing seems to make a difference.  Anyone know what the issue is and why the Interactive PDF is fine and how to fix the Export to jpg setting?
