Hello, I'm working on a book project and I'm having a problem I never had.Only the third digit of current page number isn't affected by opentype features.All numbers should be proportional oldstyle but the third digit actually isn't.Anyone could help?

Je compose le livre en important successivement les chapitres et les notes se regroupent par défaut à la fin du dernier chapitre, ce qui donne 500 notes à la toute fin au lieu de 2 fois 250 notes à la fin de chaque chapitre. The object style aa is also created automatically, and the paragraph style "for aa" is applied to the text. I have set up the positioning of the object and the frame auto-fit, as well as the coloring.It's created automatically first, and I'll follow up by manually modifying the styles myself. Thank you.

Hi there- first time posting, and I'm hoping to get some inspiration and help here! TLDR: I would like to maintain this 1 indd file to finally export 2 PDFs, one of which is just the full version and another of which is a condensed version with fewer pages.  I've been trying to find the best way to organize an indd file that consists of say 50 pages, but about 25 of those pages that are all spread across the file will be meant for PDF A, while the full 50 pages are meant for PDF B.  If any on the 50 pages gets updated, i would like for it to be reflected for both A & B during the export - trying to avoid having to maintain 2 files when they actually pages.I am trying to avoid alternate layouts/ complicated features like linked text that require retraining someone else how to use the file. Appreciate any thoughts and ideas! Thanks in advance,TW

Hi all! I've noticed a huge amount of lamentations about the "stupid page tool" in Indesign online, but unfortunately I haven't found instructions on how to get rid of it anywhere among them. So is it really still not working yet? Does anyone at Adobe follow the needs of those for whom the software is developed? After switching to the new Adobe, I was surprised that none of the real problems were solved (objects don't snap to guides, color in text box is primarily for the box, start and end arrows don't work in Acrobat, home pages that are just to get rid off, etc. etc.). There are a lot of tools that everyone immediately shuts down because they are useless to 95% of users. One of them is the famous Page Tool. I would be grateful for an answer to this problem, or information on how to get rid of this extra annoying tool so I don't keep accidentally clicking on it. Thank you! 🙂

All of a sudden ID no longer respects the fact that the front matter of my book is numbered with Roman numerals. The actual pages are numbered correctly but the pages in the dialogue box and navigation panel are not. This is somewhat inconvenient because when I try to go to the page numbered p27 it takes me to p17 (if there are 10 pages of front matter). I guess some preference has changed somewhere but I can't find anything. Or is it a bug in the latest version of CC? This has happened in all my files, i.e. the ones that were displaying correctly now display in this way too.

I am having trouble copying and pasting one row to another in tables in indesign. I can copy the row but when I go to paste the " paste is greyed out" it does not paste even with command v.I never had this problem before. I used to do it all the time. THE FOMAT IS EXACTLY THE SAME in both rowsHELP!!!

I used to be able to manually omit a page number box right on the document in InDesign by shift+command click...now it doesn't seem to work. Please help. Thank you.

I have tried many times to change the number of 'recent files' in file handling in preferences. It is supposed to show up to 30. It only show 5. I have changed it to 30 and restarted the program many times. It still only shows 5 recent files. Is this a bug in InDesign 2025? How can I change this? Do I need to uninstall the program and reinstall?  

So I have a drop shadow on a text box in InDesign. When I am working, it looks like this: When I export to pdf, it looks like this: Obviously, the simplest fix is to just use a black rectangle and place it in the position I want it to be in, but I want to know why this is acting like this and how to make it stop. These are my drop shadow settings, if that helps:

Hey community,im having a frustrating problem with indesign, i want to use action buttons to benefit from the rollover effect so ppl would know they had something to interact with. unfortunately, the "goto URL" only works with normal websites while gdrive links wont work at all for some reason. only way for them to work is if i use a hyperlink, thus lose the rollover effect. im exporting it as an interactive PDF and used adobe reader and chorme, still the same issue.Is there a way for me to have the action button open my gdrive links with ease ? 

Hi, I'm new here and have the following questions:Is there a keyboard shortcut key to start relinking a selected image?If the above shortcut doesn't exist, will Adobe consider adding it?I know I can use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+D (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+D (Mac) to open the Links panel, then select the "Relink" button. But I need a quicker way to start relinking my image.Any info will be appreciated. Thank you.

Every time I close a document the app crashes, it lets me save, export, even pack, but when I close a document it crashes, since the update 20.2.0.36

I am having this problem with a time-sensitive project. I updated Connect, and now only some fonts are loading. Even when "permanently on" a font I need is not loading in InDesign. Is there a solution?   <Title renamed by MOD>    

Hi!  I've looked all over the internet but can't seem to find a solution. I made a brochure in Indesign that I exported as an interactive PDF. It contains hyperlinks and images (around 65 pages in total). When I add it to gmail it gives an error because it contains a virus. I can't seem to figure out which elements causes the virus notification, but when I export it as a print PDF (without hyperlinks etc) it works fine. However, we don't want it to be printed, so it needs to contain working hyperlinks. Exporting the print PDF with hyperlinks also gives the virus notification. Although I can easily share it through e.g. Wetransfer, it should be possible to share it through email and upload it to Google Drive. So I'm eager to fix it.  All the help is appreciated!  

I am frequently getting this message when opening files in Indesign: I have the latest version (20.2), the computer is a new M2 max, and these are all files I have created myself. They are stored locally. I have tried exporting as IDML and resaving, but the proble keeps coming back.Is InDesign really corrupting my files or is this a false message which can be ignored?Prompt investigation of this would be apreciated please Adobe.

I created documents in Indesign that have drop shadows applied to certain shapes.  I'm trying to convert these documents to SVG files.  Since there isn't a way to export from Indesign to SVG, I've been trying to utilize Illustrator.When I select all and drag from my original Indesign document to Illustrator and then export as an SVG, I lose the drop shadow effect completely.  Instead of the shadow, I see a grey rectangle.When I export the Indesign document as an EPS file, open it in Illustrator, and then export as an SVG, my shadows look like shadows, but they are broken up into pieces and have white spaces in between each piece.I've tried other solutions such as releasing all clip masks and flattening the transparency, but nothing seems to be working.  Is there a solution that will allow me to keep my original Indesign documents and convert to SVG without losing any elements such as these drop shadows?  Or will I need to opt for a more manual solution?  F

I've been working on a booklet in InDesign for over a week. I am working alone. Suddenly when I try to copy a section, I get incopy instead of copy and I cannot copy at all. I am unable to work on this design now, and I can't figure out how it turned on, and most importantly how to turn it off.  Would you please direct me? I need to finish this document and this has caused a lot of consternation. Thank you.

Hi,I am currently working on a large book layout and want to double-check that all my text frames are aligned correctly. I realized that sometimes during the design process, I accidentally moved the frames and am worried that there are areas I forgot to correct. Is there a fast way to double-check this without needing to go through every page? I thought the preflight tool might work, but it doesn’t seem like it’s possible. Thank you!

Hi,I am having some issue with InDesign when i save my file as either a PDF or JPEG, where it is looking completely fine when i save it, however, when i upload it online it appears really washed out and white/hazy. I dont really know much about indesign and can't figure out where i am going wrong. Anyone have any suggestions?
