liebe community,kann mir jemand einen hinweis geben, worum es sich bei dieser art begrenzungsrahmen handelt bzw. was die gestrichelte umrandung meint — vielen dank !

I'm using "AdjustPageItems" or "//AdjustLayout_modified.jsx" script to move all items on every page. I have the document with 700+ pages. I divided the document into sections. When I select last page from script menu, it only moves items from page 1 until page 30.  I think script is ignoring any section mark, or section breaks.  Does anyone have any suggestions other than removing all sections? 

Is it possible to generate static captions for all diagrams that have the AA object style applied? And apply BB object style for caption. Sometimes the client's information is very messy, I always organize, categorize and sort the images first.Do simple layout design and then generate captions one by one. This saves repeated adjustments to the text. Is there any way to generate all the captions at once, and then apply object styles to the captions?Thanks

I've no idea how to do this...   I've tried to unmerge cells - and set different "At Least" / "Exactly" options - then merge again...   Logic would dictate, that the middle part - this "invisible" row - should be "flexible" and resize dynamically - keeping the rest "constant" - but it doesn't ?!?!   It's like this Whac-A-Mole game...

I have been working with InDesign for many years.I mainly create magazines and art books.Until now, I have always converted images to CMYK / 300dpi in Photoshop to ensure the correct profile for printing.However, I will soon be working on an art book with a very large number of photos, all provided by a photographer in RGB.I am wondering if InDesign has the ability to correctly convert the profile of all images during a high-quality PDF export.This would save a significant amount of work beforehand.

I keep receiving the following message at least once or twice every work day. "Adobe InDesign is shutting down. A serious error was detected. Please restart InDesign to recover work in any unsaved InDesign documents" - Return to Finder. Usually I can restart InDesign. Other times I can't restart InDesign and I have to restart my computer. What is causing this message and for InDesign to keep crashing daily?I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.4.

I've uninstalled, reinstalled, reset preferences, and signed in and out of the Creative Cloud application, and none of the solutions have helped. When having to launch the inDesign application, the screen is greyed out. When I open an older document, I can do everything else to make changes to the document. I can't make a new document. Please help! 

Hi! I am working on a book layout using the book file setup. For some of my chapter files, it only lets me have one page instead of two next to each other, even though the previous chapter ends with two facing pages. Why is this happening, and how can I resolve it? 

Indesign Beta è descritto come "converti pdf in file Indesign" ho scaricato la Beta 20.1 ma questo non funziona. Come mai non riesco ad prire i file pdf in indesign? C'è anche una pagina con un breve video che mostra come si fa. Seguo gli stessi passaggi eppure non accade nulla. Indesign Beta per ora è una delusione.

Hi,So this may be a vague post but I don't have the information about other people's computers. Why is that, that Adobe Indesign has quite a lot of interactive features, yet majority of them don't work after export.I'll try and mention a few examples.Some features don't even work on my computer. Some work for certain people and some don't for others.All viewing from either macintosh or PC. I have been trying to make a personal document interactive and I have encountered issues with the following features.- created button to zoom in/out - randomly works for some people randomly it isn't- created next & previous page buttons - same issue- hyperlinked Linkedin link to an icon - goes to 404 page - using same url in browser works- hyperlinked Linkeding link to text - for some works for some it isn't- linking button to page inside the document doesn't do anything in some cases- bookmarking and linking doesn't do anything- tried to create 'on click' enlarging elements animation

Ok, I'm having major issues with type in inDesign and Photoshop CS4 for Windows.When I draw a type box, I can type all I want just fine, but as soon as I hit enter, the type goes away.In inDesign, I get the red plus sign at the bottom of the type box, and in photoshop, my type box goes away, and the history menu updates itself with "edit type layer".Either way, I cannot create a line break and second line of text, which, in effect, makes this software completely and utterly useless to me.I have referenced this previous thread which discusses numlock and multiple mapping of the enter key for various type functions.http://forums.adobe.com/thread/575626?tstart=0I am using an Alienware M15x laptop. Does anyone know a different or faster way of changing an .ai linked files selected artboard, without having to select the link, relink, select file etc.Is there a script that would allow me to change the linked artboard from within the links window? Thanks.

Hi eveyone,Using the code below I can see the name of the character style is applied to a word.var mySelection = app.selection[0]; alert(mySelection.words[6].appliedCharacterStyle.name)The code above seems to pick up the character style applied to the first part of it. What I'm trying to do is check if there is more that 1 character style applied to a single word but, as yet I've not managed.For example, 'posted', has 2 character styles applied - plain and bold. I'm trying to get that count in InDesign via a script.Is it possible?Thanks in advance. 

InDesign is processing very slow when editing paragraph and character styles. Have checked my system  and I have all of the processing requirements needed. Noticed this after the latest update on March 7, 2025. Anyone else noticing this?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Seems in the last couple weeks more than not InDesign crashes when I save to a pdf. I've tried saving to another location but that doesn't always work. It feels very ramdom.

Yet another frustrating bug in InDesign: pressing Shift+W, which should activate fullscreen layout preview, now triggers the "Insert Math" popup. For almost €70/month, can we expect a level of professionalism and reliability that matches the price we're paying? The persistent and unsolved "show tips" feature for beginners—which we still can't disable—is already irritating enough. We don't need new bugs making our workflow even worse. Oh, and sorry to my fellow community members—after all, the only people likely to read this are users like us, not anyone at Adobe actually responsible for fixing it.

Hello! I am working with In-Design CC 2020 and I noticed that when I use alt and drag to duplicate an object, it's not working as I used to know, but instead, it creates something like step and repeat!  It creates 2 more objects! It's so frustrating.....   {Renamed by MOD}

Hello! I'm working on a 1300+ page technical document, and the owner wants some complex numbering. In lieu of a running head in the footer, they would like each page to indicate what "sections" of the book are on that page (ie. Section 1.4A to 1.6B)--note these sections start mid-page, so I can't use InDesign's sections.  The last version of this book did this numbering manually. I've got the actual sections set up with a List, but I'm not sure how to reference the sections in the footer--and I'd like to avoid the manual approach. Any suggestions?
