Heya guys! I urgently need help, would be deeply apprecaited!I designed a mini zine on an a4 using indesign but every time i try to print, in a store or with the home printer i am forced to include a bleed. I know its possible to print without a bleed but you need to change x things that im unsure about. I tried with tutorials but nothing worked, im becoming very desperate and frustrated. I have been told to print it out on an a5 and then cut the a4 size out but that adds up to too much money. Thank you so much. -Dre
Why when placing all my text, does just the first page get placed in the right text box (which I created on the master page) All the next pages created a new text box!see video
Hi, We have a user that seems to get some issues with Indesign Datamerge lately, when she is using the datamerge it creates several copies of the same data. We have tried using previous working datamerges as a test aswell as a reboot/indesign update. If she creates it as a PDF it works as expected but in the indesign document theres around 10-12 copies of the same data. Anyone that has the same issues?Using Indesign 20.2
Thank you in advance for any suggestions. I created a document with a button that opens a text box. The text box is another button (show and hide) so that it can open and close. Within the text box, I included a hyperlink. When I export an interactive PDF or publish it at an Adobe link, the hyperlink in the text box does not work (even if that box/button is moved to the front). Is it possible for a link inside a button like this to work? If so, is there something I’m missing? Thanks!
is it possible to change the colour of the header row with just one click, for a table if a document has multiple tables. Similarly to how text colour can be changed through pressing a paragraph style
😅 Merci beaucoup !
why are my pages not appearing straight under the previous?
I have a problem with a certain font, Geomanist Regular. I saved a document in which it was used and after opening it again later on suddenly the text in that font is highlighted in pink... while the font really is there! If I create a new document and use that same font all is fine. See attached screenshot. On the left is the document in which the font simply won't work and on the right is a document in which is clearly does work. On the left I also open the font screen and there you can also see the font really is there. If I copy the text frame on the right to the document on the left it also suddenly becomes pink. So clearly ONLY this particular document won't see or load the font, even though I can use it well in another document that's opened at the same time! So... why is the font highlighted in pink?! I also can't export the page as pdf due to this.
Hi Team,While working on the XML workflow in InDesign, we converted a table to text, which resulted in InDesign creating empty tabs for the merged cells. When we attempted to remove the whitespace using the GREP pattern \s+$, the application crashed. If anyone has insights into why this is happening, please let me know. Thanks
This is really weird. I have headers in my textbook, and they: From a paragraph with the "H1" paragraph style, pick up text which is styled by the character style "HeadText1" (which does nothing but allow a Text Variable named "Section" to pull this text and put it in the header),From a paragraph with the "H2" paragraph style, pick up text which is styled by the character style "HeadText2" (which does nothing but allow a Text Variable named "Subsection" to pull this text and put it in the header), andFrom a paragraph with the "H3" paragraph style, pick up text which is styled by the character style "HeadText3" (which does nothing but allow a Text Variable named "Subsubsection" to pull this text and put it in the header)I have a header that has the text variables <Section> then a tab then <Subsection> then a tab and then <Subsubsection>:Which, on a page with these paragraph and character styles, looks like this:(This section doesn't have any H2 headers so th
Hi, my InDesign 2025 intermittently disconnects my PC from the Internet, including access to the local router. However, I can still save data to Synology LUNs, so the Ethernet connection seems to be working properly. When I shut down InDesign, the connection is immediately restored. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thank you.
We have to handle layouting for a few translated Datasheets created in Indesign. When we get the translated documents back, they are usually in a very bad shape. There are a lot of truncated text boxes, the layout is not very aesthetic, and so on. We end up spending at least a day (sometimes more) adjusting the layouting for the Datasheets. Is there any way to automate this process?
what is the best format to save a file as when transferring from illustrator to indesign for a PDF
I work for a brand, and we noticed that the printed CMYK versions of our Pantone colors weren't matching up very well. So, we ran some tests with CMYK breakdowns from Color Connect, Color Bridge, and Lab colors, using three different printers. Interestingly, the Lab colors tended to look better in some cases. Why is this? Also, in my swatch palette, I have the Lab colors listed as Spot instead of Process. Does that make a difference? If I change it to Process (since it's already in Lab format), will the color shift? Or is the dropdown just a way to notify the printers that it's a spot color?thanks
Hello,Here is my problem: I have tables where one column contains product references. At the moment, I manually add the URLs for these references by selecting the reference text and then adding the URL via the Hyperlinks panel, but it would save me a lot of time if I could do it automatically. Here’s what it looks like:REF01 | Description | otherInfoREF02 | Description | otherInfo…The URLs are all the same, only the reference at the end of the URL changes. In the example, it would look like this:www.url.com/REF01www.url.com/REF02Is there a solution to import the URLs into my tables automatically? Thanks in advance for your help!
I don't know what am I doing wrong, but this line is supposed to be straight inside the frame (see 180 angle)
I have a two-column layout with running text: 1st column: Text without background2nd column: Paragraph shading How can I control the spacing between the top of the green box and the top of the text while keeping everything inside the column? My main issue is achieving exact spacing above "13" and at the bottom of the green box. I used left and right indents to adjust the text spacing but cannot use "space before" (nothing happens). I know that I can use the offset in "Paragraph Shading," but that would push the shading outside my column. Is there a way to solve this?
Hello InDesign Experts,I’m trying to produce a series of logos using the Data Merge function in InDesign. I have attached an example below to help illustrate the issues. The first issue is with having two lines of text (a Bold font line and a Regular font line). I need them to stay center to the logo regardless of how much text is loaded on each line from the .csv file. I have tried to use an Anchor Object function to push the text up. However, I can not find an option that works. The second issue is with the ability to mass adjust similar text box widths on all pages at once (all the bold lines of text or all the Regular lines of text). Can I universally change these text box size without adjusting the font size from page to page? In my case a script like Fit Text to Frame will not work because it adjusts the size of the font. Thanks kindly, Kevin
I have been working on a document many times and lately everyday and today when opening it, I get this message "cannot place this file. invalid png file indesign" and I cannot export a PDF from it due to that message. Why is this happening suddenly? What can I do? Please help
Hello,My company has both PC and Mac users who work from a network share. We have discovered we have a huge problem with certain InDesign files and links breaking. The network share we use is listed by IP address (no drive letters for Windows) and we house the images for our catalog there. Whenever a Mac user opens the document and saves it, it immediately breaks almost all of the links on the PC end. However, when a PC user re-links everything and re-saves the file, it's fine when a Mac user opens it. For most of our files, InDesign does a pretty decent job as locating things as volumes\drive\link folder when a Mac users opens it, and then converting to the IP address when a Windows user opens it.For whatever reason, our catalog images in our InDesign files have this broken link problem. Nobody is moving any of the links. The images are in the same folders they've been in for the past several years. I want to stress that this does not occur in every single InDesign file. It also only

Hello Community, I'm more or less an InDesign newbie, just learning as I go based on individual project needs. Those projects are typically rare, but this is one that keeps coming back and I want to refine the process as much as possible.I have a booklet that I've put together that pulls data from a .csv and arranges it in a predfined A4 template. Then, the create merged document duplicates that template and puts two to a page. However, the final booklet needs some section headings and title pages. At the moment my process has been to just leave an extra row in the .csv to make that template section empty so that it can be manually deleted after the merge. And then I manually go through and delete the empty areas and add section headings to each area where there is now a void. And the last step is to then manually drop in these Title or Chapter pages (if you will) between the major "sections". For this I also leave rows empty in the .csv where a collection of records wouldn'
