Hello, I have no experience to skript. However, my problem is: I have designed a catalog for a client. In the past it contained no prices, only the product descriptions, names, pictures etc.The client used to add a separate price list (.xls) to the catalogue, so that he didn´t have to print the whole catalog new, when prices changed.However, now he does want to reprint the catalog with the included prices (we are talking about several hundret prices, the catalog has 72 pages ... ).Question is, whether I can somehow add fields (manually) to the existing indesign Document, that will tell InDesign to automatically grab the price for the specific product-ID I want from the CSV pricelist?So that, when the pricelist changes next year (with prices in a different order, due to deletion of old products and newly added products), it will still find the right price via the product-ID? Is there any easy way to do this? I am trying to locate instances on Minion Pro Regular. According to the Find/Replace Font dialog box, it is used on 12 different pages, in a total of 19 characters. But when I click on "Find Next", nothing happens.   I tried do a Find for [No Paragraph Style], but that came back with no results. How can I see actually where this font is being used?  

I can’t move object boxes or text boxes using the Selection tool anymore. I also can’t move around the pages as I normally would. Is there a setting I may have accidentally changed that’s restricting movement?

Hi all,I'm currently job hunting and urgently need to edit my portfolio, but the InDesign file just won't open anymore. InDesign crashes immediately when I try to open it. I'm working on a pretty old MacBook (2013, running Big Sur 11.7.10) and I can't download the latest version of InDesign, so I thought it might be that, even though it was working fine until recently (I created the file on this MacBook and it was handling it fine). However, I tried to open it on my partner's much newer MacBook (2021), using the latest version of InDesign and its still crashing straight away.I've trawled every forum post I can find, tried restarting everything, trashing preferences and caches, deleting recovery data, even running a script that was supposed to convert it to IDML without opening it (but it still crashed).It's not a massive file so rebuilding it wouldn't take too long, but I'm just hoping that someone out there knows of a last option I can try that will mean I don't need to spend precious

Please tell me there's a way to stop this guy from popping up any time I click on an image or image frame in InDesign... WHY isn't that an option?!? (or is it?)

I upgrades from CS5 to CC about a year ago probably. My fonts were displaying in the list of fonts in families before, no issue. Now they are all separate. Example, if I want to switch from Arial and some of the text is bold or italic, if I switch to Adobe Jenson I have to select a single type (bold, regular, italic, etc.) Then all the text is the same without the settings that I made and I have to go back through and bold or italcize things.

For some odd reason if I have text and format using a PAR style it still has a HCAR style which is oiverriding the PAR style regarding font type etc. How can i format a par style that it will always have the "last word" on all font attributes.Thank you SF

Hey All Until yesterday, this function was working ok - but today, I cannot drag and drop anything with the selector tool in either ID24 or ID25.  I have rebooted, upgraded, and downgraded docs to the new and old versions of ID, but nothing seems to be working. I can move items by changing the X and Y locations, bumping with the arrow keys, but not dragging with the selector tool. Is anyone else having these issues, or is it just me? It's driving me crazy and taking twice as long to complete tasks. HELP!

Hi, I need to create a table where there is one, two, and then four columns. However, I can't seem to create this without affecting the other columns. For example, if I add four columns, all the rows have four columns. Is there a way to achieve this in InDesign?Thank you!  

Still newby here....I want to important images to my ID document but they are always in a container which drives me crazy when i want to move them or resize them. Can I import or place them without the whole container thing....thank you-- SF

Is anyone else having difficulty moving text frames/boxes or when trying to move a placed image in a frame?Every time I do this the frame or image I am trying to move jumps to the right hand side of the screen and the only way for me to move them is to click and drag to the far left.

Working in InDesign 2024, version 19.5.2 (MAC) - unable to upgrade to 2025 as I would need to get the new M series. I literally just downloaded an image from the web, which is RGB and 72ppi. In the links it does show up as RGB and 72 actual PPI and a higher effective PPI.    If I was saving this for the web, sure it's marginally ok... but if I wanted to save this for a commercial printers, I should be saving the images at CMYK and 300 ppi... and it would get flagged if I attempted to 'package' this file But, I was wondering why my 'Preflight Panel' isn't showing up as errors. I have other files where overset text is there, and even the Preflight Panel' or the 'bottom here' gets flagged.  Questions:1. Why isn't my preflight  panel working or at the bottom of my app frame not showing the errors,e ven though my document is set for 'Print' presets. 

Hi gang, I am reading a lot of user posts about InDesign not being able to move objects on the 2nd monitor.   Is it related to the Windows 11 update KB5050094 patch issue?  Or is it a cross-platform issue? Or is it more an InDesign version issue? Or is it a new issue on its own?

Hi, everyone.I have a problem with Publish Online that I´ve searched all over the web and still didn´t find an answer. I am uploading a few ePubs from InDesign CC to Adobe Publish Online with the DOWNLOAD PDF option enabled. However, when someone tries to download the file, the browser opens a new tab with a the message Bad Request displayed. I´ve tryed different browsers, and even desabled my antivirus when uploading the ePubs, but still didn´t work. Can someone help me, please?

There are no parent page thumbnails in the pagepanel in Indesign 20.1. Still, “show thumbnails” is checked in the panal options. Is this a bug?

I'm having real trouble with InDesign with moving objects or text frames. When I use Select to click and drag /move anything, rather than it move from it's current location, it seems to automatically relocate and move from a position way over to the right/down???I have tried resetting my preferences. The only way I have resolved the problem was to uninstall and reinstall the software completely... This solved the problem for about 10min but the issue has come back?!! Any help much appreciated as I have failed to find anything about this problem online. The screenshot I have shown is where I have used Select and clicked in the centre of the square (blue outline shows where it then 'jumps' to). The problem started with both versions I had installed of InDesign.It's not an issue with my mouse as I have no problems with other software including Adobe Photoshop etc.PLEASE HELP!!!   THANKS  

I've written some Texts and Greps in my FindChangeByList file. Now I'm willing to have a dialog box, in order to see the number of changes at the end of running it. How can I have that?

I successfully created review link for the client. Client can see file online at https://assets.adobe.com/ and they did some comments. After edits are made, some new pages added I tried to update review link but InDesign crashed and contiunes crashing every time Review panel is opened. I reinstalled InDesign and problem remains. Ich habe in InDesign ein automatisches Inhaltsverzeichnis erstellt. Nun hat sich der Umbruch nochmal gändert. Muss ich ein neues Inhaltsverzeichnis generieren oder gibt es eine Funktion, wie sich die Seitenzahlen im aktuellen INHVZ automatisch ändern?

This problem just popped up today. I've been using Indesign since 2001, so a long time user and familiar with how it works. Indesign was updated 18 days ago, so I doubt it was related to anything in the update. I have two monitors: 43 inch 4k TV and a 23 inch monitor. The issue is this: I made the indesign window moveable and moved it to the 2nd monitor. Suddenly the window is like glued to the right side and I can't move it back to the left. I can resize the window using the left side of the window left or right, but the right side is absolutely glued to the right and it is so far right that I can't see much of the window. I changed the display settings of Windows to use only one monitor (the 43 inch), but it's the same issue. In order to get back to something I can use, I have to restart Indesign and trash the user preferrences (CTRL-ALT-SHIFT). Then if I keep indesign in full screen mode, it works ok, but I can't change to a moveable indesign window or the problem starts all over ag
