InDesign

Buena tarde. En varias ocasiones se esta trabajando en el archivo indesign y no deja grabar porque se desactivan las opciones de guardado y se pierde el trabajo realizado.Encontré la opción de exportar un idml y he logrado abrir el archivo con lo último trabajado. Que pasa que ese problema se de?estoy con la ultima versión del sistema (MacOS Sequoia ersión 15.1.1) y del indesign 25gracias. 

We are lately seeing InDesign lagging when we switch focus from any other window (example Google Chrome) to InDesign. This is happening on two computers which are running Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 (OS build 19045.2604) and InDesign 18.1 and 18.0. This happens even without any open document. Simply trying to click on the File menu option can take anywhere betweeen 2 to 15 seconds! Not always the same. Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Immer wenn ich in Indesign eine Linie zeichne Erscheint ein Pfeil. Ich weiß, dass ich für eine gerade gezeichnete Linie, solange diese aktiviert ist, unter Effekte Die Kontureigenschaften einstellen und die Pfeilspitze für den Anfang und das Ende der Linie abwählen kann, um eine einfache Linie zu erhalten. Doch leider merkt sich Indesign diese Einstellung nicht. Wenn ich eine neue Linie zeichne hat diese immer wieder diese Pfeilspitzen. Ich bin total genervt davon jedes Mal von neuem dies3 Prozedur zu durchlaufen, wenn ich einfach nur eine Linie zeichnen möchte. Kann jemand helfen, wie ich für neu zu zeichnende Linien diesen nervigen Linieneffekt zurücksetzen kann, um zukünftig eine stinknormale Linie zu zeichnen? Vielen Dank

I have Win 11 and the last version of InDesign 2025 (which is getting me crazy).I had a document with food notes, then I converted them into endnotes, which worked fine. After a few weeks (and several editings), there are no more superscript numbers and the endnotes have become plain text. I cannot convert them back, because Indesign says there are no endnotes.When I insert new notes, they simply start as... new notes, right on from the beginning with number 1.Thanks for any help,Marlene 

Hi guys, im playing around with an idea for some automation within our print studio. We have files that have several guides such as cutters and crease guide etc.What I am trying to do with the script is to find the named swatches, make sure that they have the overprint stroke attribute applied and then make sure that they are spots, if not then convert them.I have managed to get the funtionality working to update the overprint attribute, but sturggling with the conversion to spot colours. Hello there, I am creating a book and when i export it to PDF, in random places some text line do not show on the PDF. See the picture attached.This is a big problem and i did not find anything online. I used Indesign 19.4 to create the file. Can anyone please help?Thank you 

Every time i try to launch the program, it shows the starting logo and then it disappears . i did deleathe the preferences but that did not change anything.  the same thing happens with Illustrator 2025. I am trying to find a way to contact adobe rep but seems impossible. 

Hi! The problem...I have an InDesign document which 100s of pages and different text stories. I can export or print a PDF document which looks just fine. However, the text in the PDF is not searchable. I am not sure why. Maybe it is down to embedding restrictions in the font or the way the PDF engine is handling stylistic alternates as I do not get this problem with other fonts. The font is a Unicode font, by the way. The issue...Although the text can be viewed as a PDF, it needs to be indexed by a 3rd-party without InDesign or the fonts. Ideally, they would be able to work from the PDF searching for words and phrases using the search feature and then noting the page number. A solution?For the purposes of creating an index what would be the best work around in lieu of a PDF? Exporting to rich text or plain text would be an option if the page numbers could be noted. But what would the procedure be for a script?  Possbile procedure in words...Export to text fileC

Hi! I’m working on a JSX script to replicate a specific object, and I’m having trouble understanding the dependencies between TextFrame and Oval objects.What I’m trying to achieve is something similar to creating shape-bound text in Illustrator: for example, putting text inside a circle or oval shape. In Illustrator, this is usually done by drawing the shape (e.g., a circle) and then using the text tool to add text inside it.I want to replicate this in code but I’m not sure how to handle the relationship between the TextFrame and the Oval objects. Hi everyone,I am facing a crash issue with Adobe InDesign 2025 using plug-ins on Windows. The first time I create a layout using Job Details/Export(plug-ins functionality), it works fine. But when I try to create a layout second time, the application crashes.This issue doesn’t happen with the Adobe InDesign 2024 plug-ins on Windows.I checked the crash report from Adobe, but it didn’t provide any useful details.Can anyone suggest how to fix this or let me know where I can find the logs for Adobe InDesign 2025?Thanks!

Hi I uploaded a photo to my InDesign document and put a frame around it. Now I want to download that photo complete with frame. Is that possible? I have googled to try to find an answer incl Adobe info, looked in File/Export etc. The only option I can find is to download the whole document as jpg which I don't want to do. Another question - where are the photos and graphics you upload into a document stored in InDesign? I know where the Uploads folder is in Adobe Express but can't find in Indesign. Lastly, if I unlink an image from one document - does it unlink it from all other documents? I am doing tutorials including Adobe's.

I'm running a Copilot+ PC with the Snapdragon X chipset and having issues with the latest Indesign v20.1 which is throwing an error (see screenshot). The publication indicates no errors itself though and has previously been exported without a problem.

Hello Community. I have a problem with the installation of InDesign, the error says "InDesign will not be able to run in your operating system". Running an M3 Macbook and after upgrading to ID20 data merge has stopped working. I create the document, asign all the placeholders and when I attach the csv file everything looks fine when I preview through each. I then click "Create Merged Document" and nothing happens. Tried reinstalling ID, tried creating a fresh document. Nothing seems to work and there's no error prompts. I've had to import my documents back into a copy of ID19.5 to merge them. Anyone had this issue or know of a solution?

Well this is an annoying problem.  I'm working with a bunch of Arabic text copied from a Word doc and pasted into InDesign CC.  And while the text is flowing in the right direction, the periods insist on winding up on the right margin at the end of the text instead of after the last character in the sentence, at the end of the line to the left.I've set the character to Adobe Arabic Regular, the text to right justify, the Language under Character to Arabic, and the Paragraphs to Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer.In Googling for solutions, I see instructions to Select the paragraph direction from the Paragraph panel (not an option in my Paragraph panel), choose Character Direction from the Character panel (also not an option), From the Story panel (Window > Type & Tables > Story), click a story direction (not available).  I've also tried adding spacing and hard returns before and after the period character, changing that character to another font and re-placin

Hi guys,I have some issues (both in digital and offset printing) with a poster that includes: a black and white image + color graphics.– When I export my print .pdf file with a CMYK color profile, I get a deep black but I always end up with a color cast on the black and white image, as a result of the printing process (the color cast can be C, M or Y in different cases).– I can't export the whole print file with a grayscale color profile, because the poster includes not only the black and white image but also some color graphics.Also, even if the poster was only black and white: with a grayscale color profile there is no color cast on the black and white photo, but apparently I can't get a deep black, which is only achieved by adding C+M+Y (almost 70% of each color to reach a total black of 300%). Is this correct? Is there any difference if I import a grayscale .tif into my .indd file and then convert it to 300% black using the corresponding color swatch? I have tried several expo

Hi,I would like to set up something like this for my book layout. I know how to create a basic rectangle box, but I want to achieve having the text on top, where the line doesn’t go through the text. How can I achieve that in InDesign and also create a style so I can reuse it across my book Thank you! 

Suppose I "Place" page 3 out of a 44 pages PDF document and then, later, need to change to page 10.How is that ever possible without going through the Import procedure over?I must be missing something really ovbious. Also, I often import a given Artboard number out of an Adobe Illustrator document: how could I later change my mind and instead get another Artboard out of the same document WITHOUT going through the Import process over? I don't think it's possible at all... Have not seen how to do this... BTW, I'm currently running 19.5 on Windows: is the new "Open PDF" (natively) in this version or only in the Beta?

I recently upgraded to InDesign 2024. I use BetterSnapTool to arrange my app-windows in order to have a efficient and practical workflow. But InDesign 2024 does not work with BetterSnapTool (BST) or any other window-snapping apps due to this reason I received from the BST support:"Unfortunately all window manager apps on macOS are affected by this, Adobe has broken their window resizing behavior in their recent updates. Their products do not respond correctly to window resizing requests using the macOS Accessibility API anymore. As of now I don't think there is anything I can do to fix this. If possible please also report to Adobe, they would need to fix this in their apps." BST works with every other application. I have reset InDesign preferences, but it still does not work properly. Therefore I still use InDesign 2023, since BST works perfectly fine with that application. Hey team,  I want my bullets (in my paragraph stlye) to inherit the stying attributes (in this case colour) from the character style that I am using to colour the entire paragraph. This is appose to creating a new character style for the bullet.  So as an example, I have a P-style called body and 2 C-styles called blue and magenta. This lets me keep the paragraph style the same but alter the colour. However it seems overly labourious to create C-styles just for the bullets so they match.  Any ideas?
