I'm using InDesign v20.0.1, and all of a sudden I no longer have sliders in my color panel. RGB, CMYK, HSB, nothing. Very annoying. Anyone else experience this, and did you figure out how to fix it?

So, InDesign v20.0 crashed whenever I tried to export any number of pages from a book to PDF. Fortunately, with the recent update to v20.0.1, this issue seems to have been fixed. However, as I am working on a book with close to 300 pages, I noticed that exporting to PDF still fails. I tried exporting smaller portions of the book, which worked fine, and then gradually increased the page count. But as soon as I exceeded 256 pages, the error dialog reads: "Failed to export PDF file." and "Possible cause of the error can be found on the printed sheet with the page number '259'" (translated). Interestingly, the page number referenced in the error is always the last page of the export range. For example, if I attempt to export 280 pages, the error suggests the issue is on page 280. Can anyone replicate this issue and confirm?Working on a MacBook Air M2 with MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1 by the way.

Hi!For some reason the footnotes from the Word documents end up being part of the main text in my InDesign document. How can I fix this? I have been searching through other post, but have not yet found a suloution for my problem.

Hello,Maybe someone can help me -I have laid out a book (not with stories, just 156 pages).I have Heading1 style applied to the chapter headings throughout the book.The text was imported from a Word doc, so the majority of the book is threaded text boxes.After laying out the whole book, I go to generate the TOC.For some reason, the only heading getting pulled is the Endnotes, which automatically generated a new text box. It has the exact same paragraph style applied. I tried a few other things other peope tried to fix their TOC, including saving the file as an IDML, and deleting the extra text boxes I had to separate out the Chapter Headings, but still no joy. If I make a new (unthreaded) text box and apply Heading1 style to the text, THOSE show up in the TOC. I really don't want to have to make a TOC manually, and add jump links manually, because chances are my client will have edits and I'll have to redo it again. Any leads would be most appreciated!

Can someone help me create a script? I'm trying to create a script to create a path and then apply "arrowheads" to it. I can't apply "arrowheads" to a created path, only create the path. I've tried other possibilities, but I can't. Hallo, ich habe ein Problem mit Schrifttypen aus Fonts, die ich in InDesign verwende.Ich bekomme in jeder bearbeiteten InDesign-Datei eine Meldung, dass ich unerlaubte Schrifttypen verwende, die in meinem Adobe Fonts aber aktiviert sind. Das Problem tritt in Photoshop aber nicht auf.Ich verwende InDesign 2024 Hat jemand eine Idee?

I have developed a few interactive PDFs and within the past month or two began experiencing problems where the hover states "stick". Once exported to an Interactive PDF multiple users experience this issue across various platforms. I have looked into spacing of the buttons and file size and cannot seem to find a sustainable solution. There have been a few other posts but I have not seen a final work around or reason behind this issue. Details:When there are multiple buttons on a page with hover states if a user hovers over the active area the button changes to it's hover state. When the mouse leaves the active area the button stays in the hover state. The only way the hover state is turned off is if you re-enter the active area and leave again. The problem is sporadic, does not consistently happen with specific buttons, and occurs across multiple documents. Any input would be very helpful!Thanks!

Hi everyone! I have a document where the leading is not consistent across the paragraphs. I would like to set them all to "14.4.pt" and also add a 2 mm space before each paragraph. For that, I came up with the below the script, but for some reason nothing happens when I run it. Bonjour à tous,  J'aurais besoin de votre aide !  Je réalise des livrets de formation sur l'anatomie humaine via indesign (j'ai un macbook pro 13 pouces). Pour délimiter les origines et terminaisons des muscles, j'ai fait des ronds pleins et opaques. Lorsque j'exporte mon fichier en pdf tout est parfait, à l'impression tout est parfait. Mais quand la formatrice ouvre le fichier sur son ordinateur pour faire la formation aux stagiaires, les ronds apparaissent creux, comme s'il y avait uniquement un contour...Son Macbook a un écran de 15 pouces et sa tablette 11 pouces. Comment je pourrais faire pour que l'affichage soit identique sur toutes les tailles d'écran ? Merci d'avance ! 

I'm trying to create an index for a catalogue I'm creating, the index is creating fine but if the word is on multiple consecutive pages, it is puting each individual page number and I would like to know if there is a way to contract it down to the first and last number in the sequence, for example it currently says 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and I'd like it to say 1-7 is this possible and if so how do I do it. Thanks in advance.

hallo ac. ich habe ein problem in indesign. ich habe eine marke mit 5 domainendungen: marke.photo marke.design marke.agency marke.com marke.de – alle endungen haben spezielle zeichenformate! wenn ich diese textbox kopiere wandelt indesign einige dieser endungen in ein(1) andferes, selbstgeneriertes format 'hyperlinks' um. wie kann ich dem programm sagen, adss es das NICHT machen soll? 

Hello, In the past, I installed my Indesign to English (Arabic). I have experienced a lot of problems with this, but now I want to switch it back to Dutch (left to right). So I uninstalled and reinstalled it in Dutch, but... The option for Arabic text are still there, and a lot is going wrong in my text-elements. I placed a Word document, and look at what happens to all comma's and full stops. Also the numers are still all in Arabic. I don't know how to get them right. I jsut want my Indesign to act normal again.... What can I do??

Hi, I want to add the selected page to the section that starts on the next page (543). I thought I could just drag the little arrow above to the page, but it won't work. Need some help pls 

I have a client supplied Indd file. It's set up and an entirely CMYK document with no transparencies, overprints or anything else, so in the Indd file itself everything is all fine and dandy, but when I export a PDF one element has a transparency applied.  For whatever reason, a box with only a black fill 0/0/0/100, acquires an overprint setting that shows in the final print pdf. Opened in Ai/Rip software, overprint is switched on, but not in Indd. What could cause this setting to be applied and, is there a solution? Attached are screen grabs of the affected piece.

I'm creating Indesign files using a data merge, all information going in is just text except one, which is a link to an illustrator file. Basically, when I create the data merge, the image I want links perfectly and places the image/link at the exact size of the Illustrator document. However when our freelancer creates the same file with the same data merge, the link places the image into the box and essentially makes it fit to the height/width of the box. How do I fix this? Would there be some setting I may have placed on my Indesign that he wouldn't have? This is what the master file looks like: This is how it brings across the image when I create it:*The red box represents the text in the image, but when selecting the image inside the box, it shows that its all the way touching the edges of the box* This is how the file turns out when our freelancer does the exact same thing as me: 

I am designing a book with lots of copy and images.  All of sudden some of my pages have turned the color of the pasteboard, grey, and the pagination says PB rather than the next consecutive number. This is a new issue on top of all the other issues I have been having, like crashing all the time and then huge splshes of color go across my document.  I"m on an iMac intel and also used a new MacBook Pro with the Apple 2chip.  

Hola a todos, tengo problemas con la visualización de las imágenes desde las últimas versiones. Especialmente desde la última actualización. Adjunto varias capturas, ya que el tema es recurrente de manera aleatoria. Es decir, me ocurre, o no me ocurre con archivos que tienen una sola imágen y con publicaciones que tienen 200 imágenes. Llevo trabajando con Indesign más de 15 años y nunca me había ocurrido esto. Creo que no tiene nada que ver con la resolución de las imágenes ni con ninguno de los 3 modos de visualización del rendimiento de visualización de la app. (He probado las distintas opciones.) Tampoco creo que tenga nada que ver con las preferencias de Indesign, apartado del rendimiento de visualización. (He probado todas las opciones). El asunto ha ido a más cuando, a parte de no visualizar bien las imágenes, (aparecen con un dominante color negro y lineas de varios colores en vertical...y la imagen que debiera ocupar todo el cuadro del contenido, figura a la izquierda arriba en

Hi, I have Korean language InDesign file in which there are English and Korean characters.Univers Font family is used in the complete file but these fonts are not suitable for the Korean language,Is there any way to find only Korean characters and replace the fonts. please check the below Screenshot.In the above image only red highlighted I,e only Korean characters font should be find and replaced. 

InDesign is making an error sound when I try to use a colour swatch and won't let me change the colour for a fill or stroke line. The object tends to move slightly when I click on it too. Not sure how to fix these things as they never happened before!I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting my computer, and deleting my preferences.  

Hi all,   I have a gif that is not looping when I publish it to an online link-- it starts playing and then stops at the last frame.  None of the other gifs in the deck are affected-- this has never happened before. Does anyone have any guidance? Thanks!     <Title renamed bu MOD>

I drew a picture in Adobe Fresco and then uploaded that into InDesign and added to text for a project I am working on. When I uploaded the Fresco document, it's high quality and when I look at the download on my computer, it's high quality. But, when I export the document I made from InDesign, it's low quality and every thing I try to do to fix it doesn't work. How do I export high quality documets from InDesign?  btw I am working on Windows 11

Liebe Community, ich möchte meiner Tabelle abgerundete Ecken geben. Das habe ich auch schon mit Objekt > Eckenoptionen geschafft. Nun ist es leider so, dass ich farbige Spalten und Zeilen habe und die abgerundeten Ecken hier nicht funktionieren. Es wird nur auf dem Textrahmen angepasst. Ansicht im Anhang. Gibt es hierfür eine Lösung? Vielen Dank!

Hello. When one of our staff is using Share for review and creates a link, it works for a while, and then the document looses the link. The link is gone, even though she has saved the document. And when se recreates the link, it disappears again after a while. Anyone else who has had this problem and have a solution?Is there a setting we are missing? I doubt it since it works for all others at our office. Best Regars Fredrik
