Hi all, I am working on a study project that creating a fashion booklet to print. I converted my transparent images from RGB to CMYK in Photoshop and I have double checked in file info that they are in tiff format and CMYK color space. I placed the images to Indesign then I hit print booklet and exported a Press Ready PDF from Acrobat Distiller. As a result, some of the transparent images work and some of them do not work, but all images are exported in the same way. I feel very confused. I also tried linking the images in PSD format, but still. Does anybody know what is wrong with my steps? Thank you so much! After upgrading to Indesign version 20.0, the feature to resize any element with Cmd + Opt + Shift + Mouse is not working.

When I work with transparencies in InDesign, the text on the page always appears bolder (even when exported). What could be causing this? This happens in both RGB and CMYK color modes. The text is on the top layer.     100 % Opacity:   Less than 100 % Opacity (50%)     <Title renamed by MOD>  

Hi I am trying to print 4pp A4 on 7800 xerox phaser using Print booklet in indesign?All I am getting is pages 1&2 printed on the A3 with blank for pages 3&4?

I am placing an ai file in a indesign doc using the Museo Sans font from Adobe Fonts. I have the whole family installed (100, 300, 500, 700, 900) but for some reason the 300 and 900 fonts display as a different font in indesign. If i use 700, the font displays correctly. Why is this happening and how can I fix it without changing the text to curves, I need to keep it editable because the text gets updated sometimes.

Unbelievable...   Adobe CC installed InDesign 2025 in English without asking me. I opened an InDesign file and it got opened by InDesign 2025 and I accidentally saved it (I did not know that it was InDesign 2025 at that moment). Now I want to open that file in InDesing 2024 (Dutch version) so I open it and I get this error: I am currently signed in!   All things that go wrong:- I never asked to install the ENGLISH VERSION of InDesign. Never. - I cannot open my files in 2024 Dutch version - I am occupied for an hour for random sh!t that is not working   It is very hard to do my job this way....   <Title renamed by MOD>

I am needing to create editable 8.5x11 signs for the customer service team to edit for each of the retail locations. Example: a new product come in, they would change the text to the name of the product, edit the pricing, description and I want some of the signs to have an image placement for them to upload a photo of the new product OR a product goes on sale, etc. What is the best way to create this if they do not have an adobe subscription? Currently not all of the computers have the new brand fonts I created for them so I need to make sure that fonts stays the same when they edit it. Examples added.    <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello, I want to create a QR code Business Card, and most of it works ok (except Norwegian characters Æ, Ø and Å, but that's another story). But for some weird reason ,A is added to the cell phone number. In the field for ordinary phone number it works ok. Someone out there who knows why ,A shows up in cell phone number?     <Title renamed by MOD>

I have a few intro pages, acknowledgements, and letters prior to the start of a first chapter of a book. The first real informational page starts on page 9. Is there anyway to set page 9 as page 1 in the document file? I am using automatic markers with the current page numbers at the bottom of my pages. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'd like to share a script.   Some time ago I wrote a script for bin-packing in Illustrator (posted here on the forum) and recently another user asked me if I could make a version for Indesign, which I have now done and I've published to github (the repo has scripts for both Indesign and Illustrator).   To read more about the scripts, including instructions, you can visit the github repo or to jump right in you can directly download the scripts.   What is bin packing? Bin packing is arranging things so that they fit into "bins". In Illustrator, the bins are artboards, and in Indesign the bins are pages.   This is the sort of thing you can do in Illustrator (packing 35 items into 2 artboards):   And here's an Indesign example, packing 146 items onto 4 pages: (This animation is using the option "Divide Bins at Guides", which keeps the items clear of the guides by a set margin.)   I hope someone will find the scripts useful. Hello community, I’m experiencing some frustrating issues with tables in my InDesign 2022 document. Most of the tables and content in the cells are functioning as expected, but I’ve encountered some random problems:In some cells, I can’t click to type text at all.In other cells, text appears when I type it, but it disappears after it gets long enough to create a second line.I’ve managed to fix a couple of these cells by setting the cell insets to zero, but there doesn’t seem to be a consistent pattern; for instance, a two line sentence works fine in one cell but not in another within the same row or column. It feels completely random.I’ve also tried adjusting the lines of the text box for the table in hopes of accessing the unresponsive cells, but that hasn’t helped either. Neither does adjusting text wrap.Does anyone have advice on how to troubleshoot these issues? Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I created a book (using the "book" function). In each chapter's Indesign file, I have the chapter title paragraph style's keep options set to start on the next odd page. When I export the book to PDF, it seems to be ignoring that setting and putting the first page of each chapter on the next page, even or odd, of the book. Is there a setting to have it insert a blank page to accommodate the keep options? 

To me, AFAIK, "Normal" indicates an imported Microsoft Word paragraph style.Especially given the little "disk icon with an arrow".But "Normal(Web)"?I suppose the little "+" sign indicates some level of "local override".Please excuse my ignorance in advance and thank you for your kind help and patience.

Hi there,I appear to be missing the large anchor point in InDesign. I've taken a screenshot from online of the one I mean. When the cursor moves over it a particular pop-out appears.I'm at a complete loss as to how to find it/get it back Here's a screenshot of what mine looks like if i select the image with either cursor:I hope this is just me missing something painfully obvious. Any help appreciated.edit: I have tried starting a new doc etc. it's the same each time.

Hello. I am creating some angled tabs (see attached image). I would like the text to be centered inside the tab, but because the textbox is skewed, the text becomes off center. I know I can create another straight non-filled text box on top of the angled image, but I'd like to avoid the messiness of that. Is there a way to get the text to automatically center align in a box that is skewed without having to add manual spaces? Thank you!     <Title renamed by MOD>

I have a 146-page document in InDesign (facing pages), and there is a large gap in two instances between the spreads  -- one gap larger than the other. I'm using current version of INDD on a Mac. I have to create a combined page PDF for client of all pages and don't know if this will carry over to the pdf made from these pages in INDD.   I'm sure I inadvertently did this but I don't know what I did. Good morning, is it possible to automatically or with scripts change the order of a Japanese book to, in this case, Spanish, that is, so that the last pages of the Japanese book are the first in Spanish in the reading order, without doing it by moving the pages one by one? Hey everyone,   I'm having a bit of trouble figuring this out but feel like it must be possible. I need to take the contents of File1 and merge it with File2 page-for-page.   The merged/imported contents should go onto a different layer.  Both files have the same number of pages.   I thought I had it figured out when I used Place to bring the File2 pages over page-for-page onto the new layer in File1. Then I realized the File2 contents were brought over similar to an image/pdf and I wasn't going to be able to edit the contents of the File2 frames within File1.   Any ideas?     thank you!       <Title renamed by MOD>

Suppose I open Preferences > Composition to change some option.Two minutes later, I need to change that same option back.The first time the Preferences dialog opens, I understand I need to select the Composition tab.But why is it that, the second time around, the Preferences dialog still opens in the "Main" tab ?Why couldn't it "remember" my last "visit" and open in the last visited tab?I understand it's a two edge sword.
