Hello, I need help with a Publish Online issue. To obtain analytics for the published document, I need to add a Google ID. Publish Online allows you to add a customized cookie banner. However, I'm trying to insert a link to my cookie policy in that banner, and it won't let me. Does anyone know how to do it?   <Title renamed by MOD>

Does anyone else have an issue of InDesign eating up LARGE amounts of harddrive space? It ate 40GB+ of my harddrive space when I exported .jpg's today. Is there a way to decrease the amount InDesign takes up while I'm working on a document? This is the description of the InDesign file I exported .jpg's from. I have a customer's high-resolution artwork for many 72"x24" prints. I made a contact sheet in InDesign (putting 6 prints on a 10"x8" page; total of 12 pages). It's all links to the original art files. I tried to export all InDesign pages to .jpg at high quality and 275dpi (each .jpg is ~2MB). InDesign ran out of disk space 3/4 of the way through. The only way for me to reclaim the disk space was to close InDesign. Then I could reopen the file and export the rest of the pages, only to fill up my disk space again. Anyone else experience this? How do you deal with it? Any tips? 

When I open *some* older (1 year old) documents in later versions of InDesign (last several updates), the text in the folio loses its formatting. The affected text is on the parent pages, includes a section marker, and is supposed to be formatted in small caps. The text on the right-hand-pages changes to upper/lower case when opened in the newer version of ID. Reapplying the small caps formatting (either from the Character palette or a character style) does not fix the problem. Font is Calluna Regular (Typekit).   My current workaround is to save as IDML and open in an earlier version (18.5.4), resave from there, and open again in version 19.5. Considering I have 100 of these documents to prepare, this is not sustainable.    Any ideas out there??   <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi all,          I am looking for xml structure for directly applying styles from group style just like aid:pstyle="test", where if there's any style with name test will be applied directly and if there's none indesign will create one.Do we have any such kind of xml structure for creating and applying style from a group styles?Thanks in advanceSunil

Hi Everyone,   I have Sequioa 15.0.1 on a MacBook Pro 2023. I have InDesign 19.5 installed. I cannot update to the latest version. I have uninstalled twice and re-installed with no results. With some images Indesign crashes when I am using Text Wrap > detect Edges and increase the offset distance a little bit. It usually crashes after 2 or 3 clicks (0.2 or 0.3 mm). Same image on InDesign 2023 Detect Edges works perfectly...(Mac OS Monterey)

In Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator's 2025 splash screens, the name of the software shows in what looks like "Ringo", a Monotype typeface. What typeface is Adobe using here?

I just upgraded to In Design 19.0.1 (2024). Every time I open a file I get the spinning beach ball for about 3 or 4 seconds. If I have two files open and toggle between them, I get the same spinning beach ball for 3 or 4 seconds per toggle. I've already set the display performance view to "typical" and it still does the same thing. The version before (2023) doesn't do that at all. Does anyone have any information that could help me solve this issue?Thanks. Jono

Hi all.I'd like indesign to NEVER hyphenate a word for me. It seems I'm having to uncheck the hyphenation box for every text box.I've tried turning hyphenation off and closing / quitting. When I start a new file it's checked again.Any ideas?Many thanks

I'm getting this InDesign error below when I try to open up an Indesign file that I had saved down either to my Onedrive or a traditional drive. I also can't open the related pdf that I had created using the Indesing file. I was previously able to open with 2023 version of Indesign but that doesn't work anymore. Hello, I am currently attemtpting to use the Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Yet I am constantly met with Error 205. I have attempted to use fixes found on https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/fix-licensing-error-205.html , https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-download-install-logs.html#error205 , Ive logged out and back in, Disabled my antivirus and firewalls, created paths in said firewalls,  I've done complete resets of the apps and the cloud itself using different versions of Apps and the cloud, Ive cleared credentials, yet none have so far worked. File designed in InDesign. The hover/ roll over effects do not work/ preview in EPUB format. Using a macbook and viewing with iBooks. Also exported as a fixed layout EPUB. Have searched Google and cannot figure out why this is happening. As not on Windows. And using the recommended software to preview. Please advise.      <Title renamed by MOD>

Hey,   I am running InDesign 20.0. Everytime I save this specific file I have been working on as a PDF and print it, the printer starts printing 400-600 blank pages with error codes on them. I have tried pasting all my pages on a fresh new document-same problem. I usually save it out as a PDF Press Quality size so maybe that's the issue? The only thing I have found to work is printing directly from the indesign file. But the thing is I need this to be a PDF that can be printed properly as it is going to be sent out and printed in bulk by other people who will have access to the file. Does anyone know what it could be? Or is there something corrupt within the document or the way I am exporting it? Thank you to anyone that can help!     <Title renamed by MOD>

hii have a document that is well over 400 pages and everytime i delete a page; some empty frames appear in the middle of the page. instead of removing them one by one, ive tried a couple of scripts ive found via google, however they are working too well and removing everything- including coloured frames that i need. i have no clue how to write scripts so if someone could give me one that would be amazing. thankyou in advance!

Can particular tools be removed from the Toolbar Palette? More specifically, I want to remove the "Type on a Path Tool". When I'm switching back to the Text tool about 40-50% of the time I get the Type on a Path Tool by accident. My mouse action seems to cross the toolbar in such a way as to grab the wrong tool. I never use Type on a Path Tool so if there's a way to remove, lock, or hide that tool it would make my life a little bit easier.

I want to generate static captions for images in a document. I want to do it this way because there many images. I have watched various tutorials online and I think I've done it correctly. First I opened an image in Bridge, opened the metadata tab and in the field called 'Description' I entered the text of a caption. Then I placed the image in InDesign and set the text wrap. Then I went into Links panel->right-click image->Captions->Caption setup and in the dialogue set the Metadata dropdown to 'Description'. I entered a para style, set the alignment to 'Below Image' and the Offset to 6mm. I checked 'Group Caption with Image'. Then I went back to the links panel image, right-clicked and chose 'Generate Static Captions'. The bounding box then duly extended to accommodate a caption but the caption did not appear. Of course I have checked and re-checked everything but I cannot spot the error. Can anyone shed any light?   <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello, I hope somebody can help. my inDesign software has been working fine until 2 days ago. I use inDesign via my laptop onto a remote desktop using a VPN. I also edit and save files to a remote drive using the same VPN. Yesterday when I tried to save a document it said it was corrupted. This same issue has happened with any files that I try and open and resave. The only way I can save a document is to save it onto the remote desktops C drive, but then try to copy it back to remote drives it won’t let me (this may be an administrator issue)   I have literally hundreds of InDesign files, has anybody got any ideas why it worked perfectly up until 2 days ago, but has now developed this problem?   FYI, I am using V 19.5   Any help very gratefully received.     <Title renamed by MOD>

I'm putting together a set of investor reports, one for each product that our investors have invested in. Each one has a different brand color associated with it. So far data merge has been great for this, but I've had to go in after the merga an manual change accent text and other elements to the correct brand color. I found a video for how to automate this process bycreating a field in my csv for color (lets just call it "Color"), and filling ti with something like {red}, {blue}, {green} etc. putting the <<Color>> data merge tag on either side of each instance of accent text,creating a character style called "invisible" that gives it a color of none and shrinks it to the smallest font size possibleApplying a few GREP styles to the paragraph: Apply invisible character style to any instance of the text {red}, {blue}, or {green}:\{red\}|\{blue\}|\{green\} etc.Apply color red to text with {red} on either side of it:(?<=\{red\})(.*?)(?=\{red\})Do the same with gre

Just curious...InDesign allows creating new Parent pages with custom page sizes and orientation but will not allow to modify those attributes once the Page page is created. My question may seem trivial but is it because it would be too complex (in code) to allow changing those geometric attributes once the Parent page exists? I understand changing the page size in Document Setup modifies the "base" Parent page automatically. I understand it would not make sense to allow changing the document size through the Parent page dialog because we have the Document Setup dialog to do that. Still, it's a question my students ask and I confess I don't have a good answer for them.   <Title renamed by MOD>

I have created a very large file of over 1300 pages. It is the entire Bible in the Polish language. I added bookmarks in order to go to each book and each chapter. When I click on the bookmark from the Indesign bookmarks panel, the bookmarks work perfectly. But when I export to PDF, some of the bookmarks are incorrectly linked. For example, if I click on a bookmark that is on page 1298, it takes me to a bookmark that's on page 1323. Every subsequent bookmark I click takes me to the next bookmark from that incorrect spot. In other words the bookmarks from page 1298 to page 1323 do not work. I have tried deleting and redoing them, I have tried exporting the PDF with different settings, but nothing seems to work. I have this shape, which is a group of 5 objects :I would like to scale them to precisely 2 inches proportionately.As can be seen by the screen capture, it measures 1.8081" x 1.8244". Is such a feat possible with InDesign? Without doing some arithmetic within the Transform palette or in the Scale dialog? Sorry if this is too obvious...When I type 2" in the Transform palette the elements get "cropped" as shown below :Thank you in advance for your kind help and patience.
