Hello, please look at this very short video that describes my problem.File is attached.Thank you very muchDaniel
Hello,I'd appreciate your expertise here, please.I have a 250-page book with two-page spreads. Some of the pages have an image, say, on the left side that bleeds Top, Left, Bottom and extends to the gutter. Problem: it bleeds into the gutter and onto the next page.My printer said my bleeds have to be the same on all sides, to trim the pages correctly, so I set my bleeds at 0.125" Top, Bottom, Inside, Outside.Problem: when I adjust images away from the gutter by a point or two, to potentially correct the bleeding over, they still bleed across. I should not have to do this, but it's a limitation of InDesign..Any suggestions, please?Thank you,D
Hi everyone,I’m running into a font issue and hoping someone here has seen this before.I have Freight Sans Pro installed on my computer, and in InDesign it appears in the font menu as Freight Sans Pro. However, when I check the font in the Adobe app / Adobe Fonts, it appears simply as Freight Sans. The problem came up when we sent a packaged file to a printer. They told us they couldn’t access the font because Freight Sans Pro is discontinued. On my system everything still works and displays normally, but on their end, they’re saying it’s a Type 1 font that Adobe no longer supports. So I’m trying to figure out: Why would InDesign still show Freight Sans Pro if Adobe now lists it as Freight Sans? For context: Font shows as Freight Sans Pro inside InDesign. Adobe Fonts / Creative Cloud shows Freight Sans. Printer says Freight Sans Pro is discontinued and unavailable on their end. Has anyone dealt with this rename/version mismatch before? Thanks!
They do not appear in my Creative Cloud files or among my cloud documents. Could you please help me locate or recover them? These documents are very important for my work, so I would really appreciate any help in locating them.
I'm not even sure if this is possible. I've been asked to create a newsletter template for others at my job to be able to edit themselves, with sections about new employees, upcoming events, workshops, etc. I can easily lay out the design with the content I was given, but I'm not sure how to go about creating reformattable sections that align with the variable length of the copy that would be changing weekly. They would like it to be designed to our brand standards rather than a simple text document. Not to mention, anyone else who would be editing and adding to these newsletters will have near zero experience with Adobe/ID and most likely only be editing it with Acrobat. They intend to add/remove photos and update copy (of which the length could be all over the place). Is this something I can even do?
Hi,I’ve created a third ebook for an author and she wants me to hyperlink her previous Apple Books that are mentioned. I can’t see a share button or anything that helps me do this. Any ideas? Google says use the share button but it’s not an option for me or the author. Not sure why. Thanks.
Bonjour,Depuis quelques temps, j’ai des problème d'affichage dans Indesign. Les caractères disparaissent au défilement de la page pour réapparaitre ensuite. Impossible de d'activer ou désactiver les performance GPU. Configuration windows NVIDEA Quadro T1000 3GB. Une nouvelle configuration peut-elle être envisagée ?
I’m using the font Nobel and trying to apply tabular lining to a numbered list, but the 1’s and 7’s are just not aligning. I saw one other question on here asking the same thing, but I’ve gone through the steps (mainly making sure kerning is Metric, not Optical), but it’s still not working. Would appreciate any help! :) Screenshots of how the numbers look right now, and my paragraph style settings:
I am using the latest version of Adobe InDesign which I believe is 21.2 and my operating system is Windows 11 latest version. I have a 200 page book (In three sections) and the client has asked for the top margin to be changed. I've done that but I now have 200 text frames that were exactly matching the margins but are now a few millimeters too tall. Is there a straightforward way to select all the pages and snap text frames to margins? Or do I have to do it manually, page by page?
Hi,Is there a way to transfer the Translator Pro Plugin that we purchased for one user that no longer in our company, to one of the existing Adobe user?We purchased the Translator Pro in exchange.adobe.com.Thank you,Allen5FDB
In InDesign 2026, when you go to use the new “Open PDF” option, all the images open as 72dpi and in RGB mode. Is there a way to change the preferences on the images so the PDF opens in InDesign with a higher dpi and in CMYK mode?
Is there an easier way to insert pages from one InDesign file to another InDesign file, rather than copy and paste? Is there a script for this? <Title renamed by moderator>
I am modifying a template I purchased and trying to get the paragraph styles and baseline grid to work together nicely. At the moment, when I set the paragraph style leading equal to the baseline grid (best practice, correct?) InDesign adds extra line breaks at the head of the paragraph. Example:Two blank lines between paragraphsThis is all in one text frame. There are two blank lines between the first paragraph and the block quote, and between the block quote and following paragraph. The baseline grid is 14pt. The leading for the paragraphs is 14pt. When I reduce the paragraph leading to 13pt, it goes back to one blank line between the paragraphs, which is what I want.Paragraph styles do not include any spacing before or after paragraphs that I can see. Am I missing something? Why is the grid/line spacing behaving this way?EDIT: Apologies, never mind, I found it. There was in fact space added after the paragraph in two of the styles that I hadn’t seen yet. I didn’t realize that there
Hi,Recently when I open an inDesign file of which a linked file (in these cases .xlsx files) needs updating, it shows me the prompt at startup that Links have been modified. But it then completely freezes (file does not open). I then have to kill inDesign through Task Manager. After that the same file does open (but doesn't show the prompt) and I can update the link within the file with Update link (but no warning sign that a link is not up to date in the Linka pane, there is one on the text frame).Using version 21.2
Hello Everyone,We are excited to introduce the new "Export InDesign documents to Adobe Express" feature in InDesign. Now, you can export your InDesign documents to Adobe Express for fast and simple online editing. Do you guys know a way to prevent InDesign from exporting content into a <sect> tag? When exporting to a accessible PDF i have to manualy move tags out of the section tag = <sect> before deleting it, this is very time consuming process, but sometimes its necessary for the PDF to be accessible. -is there a way to stop indesign from exporting into a section tag??...maybe a script?? /Jakob
Hi! I’m hoping someone can help with a simple GREP to add double quotes to the start and end of a paragraph please so I can incorporate it into a style? (ie shift 2). Thanks!
I have a problem exporting to pdf. I can only export single pages. The document is 428 pages (41,9 MB) and mainly text. It has a lot of footnotes 6300 (!)A few weeks ago I could export to pdf with the same text, I have only done some typographic changes. I have tried suggestions like: exporting to IDML, turn off Background Tasks, delete Preferences with no luck. The only way is to create a Book, add the indesign-file and export the book to pdf. That works without any problem! But I would like to be able to export directly from the indesign-file.I have Indesign 21.2 iMac 2020 with 40 GB RAM.
What is the best workflow to retrieve process color mixes (RGB, Hex) from a CMYK mix via an ICC profile conversion in InDesign? In other words, how do I ensure the correct ICC profile is being used for the conversion? Color Settings: North American General Purpose 2RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1CMYK: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 Should I change the transparency blend space from CMYK to RGB, then retrieve the color mixes? (See below) Proposed Workflow 1:Transparency blend space is CMYK Assign Profiles to document: Assign current working spaces: RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1, CMYK: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 Change transparency blend space to RGB – changing the document workspace to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile. The conversions will now be based on this sRGB color profile assigned to the document via the space change. Open up swatch options to retrieve RGB and Hex numbers Or, can I leave the transparency blend space in CMYK, and retrieve the color mixes? Will I get conversions via what I have set in the colo
Locked header on other pages has an inch of space that is not present in master. If I adjust baseline, it cuts off text. Can anyone help?
Hello. Trying to change an InDesign document- about 200 pages, to a continuous plain text document like Text Edit .rtf.Looking up procedure advice is all about scripting, which I don’t even want to get into. Please help! I’m on a deadline this morning and need to get the story in a plain text format for the publisher to create an eBook.Converting an Acrobat PDF to RTF results in one blank page!
I am trying to open a file roughly 6MB in size. I have done this thousands of times in the past without issue. However, today, the system just shows the loading beach ball and completely stalls. If I click on another screen to complete a different task while waiting for InDesign to load and then hover over the icon in my dock, it says “not responding”. I have no idea what is causing this issue given the fact I created the original document without issue prior to today’s incident.
Problema al importar texto con ecuaciones matemáticas en indesign (MAC) de un documento word en .docx . Las fórmulas fueron creadas con el creador de ecuaciones. El texto ingresa y las ecuaciones no se ven. ¿que puedo hacer?
Hi everyone,I’ve been working on my graphic design portfolio in Adobe InDesign for about three months, and today InDesign suddenly crashed while I was working on the file. Since then, I haven’t been able to open the file properly. When I try my work opens for two seconds and then is gone. However, I’m having several issues: When I try to open the file in InDesign, the application crashes/ This only happens with this specific file — other files open normally. When I try to download the file from Creative Cloud, I get an error and the download fails. I’ve tried opening it on multiple devices, but the same problem occurs. I also attempted to access it through the Creative Cloud web interface, but I still cannot open or download the file. This portfolio is extremely important because it’s for a university assignment, and I’ve put months of work into it.
I’m running the latest version on a MacBook Pro with Tahoe 26.2.So far I've noticed:Undo is unavailable (grayed out in the menu) Extreme lag time when importing large images Cursor gets stuck in the previous mode. (For example, if I switch to the magnifying glass to enlarge the view then go back to the regular arrow, it stays in the magnifying glass.
