I opened files that i was working on in December 2025 - tweaked something - and could not save. FILE IS DAMAGED!  no matter what I do - anything I touch cannot be saved as an indesign file. 

Hi, I’ve installed Adobe InDesign for the first time on Windows 11, but it’s not launching. The application gets stuck on “Starting up service registry” during startup and does not open, even after waiting for more than 5 minutes.I have already tried reinstalling InDesign, signing out and signing back into Creative Cloud, and restarting my system, but none of these steps worked.This is a fresh installation and I’m facing this issue from the first launch itself. Please let me know how to resolve this problem.  

For quite some time now my InDesign has been taking a long time to open. I think it started doing this a couple updates ago. I have been dealing with it, but now it has become annoying.When I open InDesign, it takes over 30 seconds to open.In the past it opened in less than 10 seconds.What has changed is causing this issue.I am running Windows 11 Pro.I have an I9 processor with 24 cores.With 64 GB of memory.The hard drive is 2 TB and I am using about ¼ of that, so there is plenty of space.What can I do to get this to open quickly, like it used to? Rick

Does anyone know of how you would export an interactive PDF as CMYK? Using Indesign 2022. It always wants to change the colour profile to RGB when I export?

When I try to place multiple images at once using the Gritify tool, my InDesign seems to break. It stops letting me undo, I can’t make any new files, it's constantly loading and it wont let me close the program anymore. Any way to stop or circumvent this?

InDesign 2026 - character and paragraph styles - InDesign changes font color.

I see this problem is 10 years old. I tried deleting preferences CTL+SHIFT+ALT.There is a suggestion that “click the word Touch” - click with what my mouse? Oh you have to go through the Touch Gesture tutorial before you can get access to this menu!Ok i’m going to leave this question here

I’m resurrecting an old QuarkXPress v. 3.31 document using InDesign 20.5.2 (2015 MacBook Pro Retina 15” under Monterey).The original QXP had master pages (INDD calls them Parent pages I see).There are various oddities in the import (e.g., all items on the document pages are shifted 2.75” to the right! weird.). Another issue is fonts. I have replaced several missing fonts using modern Adobe equivalents. This change affects, e.g., headers on the Parent pages. When I go to update the document pages assigned to those Parents, InDesign is inserting an empty text frame onto the doc page and “pushing” the existing text frame to the next page in the document.I assume this is due to my misunderstanding of text flow on Parent pages. The Parents for the body of the doc indeed have a blank text frame laid out within the specified margins. (I see the option, on Parent pages’ text frames to “Click to make this story the parent’s primary text flow.” Which means very little to me.)Should I just elimin

We're using ZXPSignCMD tool for signing an Adobe InDesign CEP extension. We have a mandate to update all the company’s signings to D-KMS (Key Management System), a HSM (Hardware Security Module) backed service (see New private key storage requirement for Code Signing certificates 1).In the documentation of the tool CEP-Resources/ZXPSignCMD/SigningTechNote_CC.pdf at master · Adobe-CEP/CEP-Resources · GitHub we don’t see any reference on HSM support.Are any plans on updating the tool to support this?

Jag har i snart en veckas tid nu haft ett problem med Indesign som jag inte har upplevt tidigare. Jag har arbetat i ett flertal olika dokument och samma fel uppstår varje gång, så det är inte en specifikt fil som är problemet.När jag jobbar i ett projekt och klickar på Spara får jag upp något av de felmeddelanden som syns i bilden (att filen är skadad). Och så låser sig programmet och jag måste tvinga avsluta. När jag öppnar filen igen sen så är de senaste ändringarna oftast med ändå, men jag kan fortfarande inte spara filen. Jag blir tvungen att köra Spara som och skapa nya kopior av filen varje gång jag vill ändra något.Jag har testat att arbeta både mot Onedrive och lokal hårddisk - det gör ingen skillnad. Jag har inga uppdateringar som väntar.Någon som har någon lösning?

Hello,I have set up a table to have a 0.25 pt border around the table and all strokes (rows and columns).Unfortunately the row stroke does not stop at the edge of the table border.I have tried a fresh document (with new table) and I am still getting the same results.I am using the “Best joins” settings but it doesn’t appear to be working?Also… when I zoom in on the pdf the table border looks fine. The stroke only appears to go beyond the border when viewed as a pdf at 100%. It also prints normally.Any ideas why this is happening and a fix please?    

Text editor shows the text, but it’s always overset in the InDesign file, no matter how big I make the textbox or adjust the size/leading of the type. It’s an InDesign file that I didn’t create, so I deleted any existing paragraph styles and stripped out any formatting that was on it  but can’t figure out what is making any text I try to import or create automatically overset. What am I missing?

After a recent system update, the cursor in InDesign (2023 on Windows 10) is suddenly huge. It reverts to normal size when I drag it over the tools or other menus. I notice this only occurs on my extended monitors. Any assistance would be appreciated! Thanks,SM

Does nothing to fix the massive issue me and my org are having with being unable to save files because they are apparently ‘corrupt’.Not only that only that attempting to add pages to files is causing indesign to freeze. Not only that my preferences have been reset with no warning before the install I have a document due back to a client imminently and to be perfectly frank we are not actively looking for alternatives to this programme.  Get rid of the AI crap and get back to the basics. Call it feedback if you will. 

After updating to macOS Tahoe 26.3, I can no longer launch InDesign CC2026 and CC2025.  InDesign CC2023 and CC2024, on the other hand, start normally.Repairing the permissions via the terminal does not help:sudo chmod -R 755 /Users/dtp/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ InDesignsudo chmod -R 755 /Users/dtp/Library/Caches/Adobe\ InDesignsudo chmod -R 755 /Users/dtp/Library/Application\ SupportTemporarily renaming the Adobe InDesign Preferences folder creates new folders when starting CC2025 and CC2026, but when creating subfolders, InDesign does not go beyond the CompositeFont folder. The SF-Symbols.app has also been updated.Could this be related? Do others share this problem?Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this? All bestMartin

I apply a grep style to the letter ā which appears before the symbol ʾ The grep style applies negative tracking of 100 to the letter ā. However it also applies the tracking to all instance of the combination in italics which appears too squashed.I don’t want this grep style applied when it is italic. Is there a way to apply the above grep style only to the combination of letters that are not italic and only regular? I have tried to manually override but that doesn’t work.

Hi, everyone! I wanted to update my Indesing and Photoshop, but it says I need to upgrade my operating system in order to get the 19.5 version. I am applying a grep style small caps using the following grep code: ‭\<‬AH‭\>|\<‬CE‭\>in some places it successfully works and in other places it only applies the small caps to the first letter. See image. I’m not sure why it does this. 

Hello! So I have designed a 71 page, 36 spread that contains all pdf images linked downloaded from Photoshop at 300 dpi. This is a portfolio so it contains mostly photos but I am having problems exporting this file at 20 mg currently the smallest I can go without ruining the quality is adobe print pdf at 150 compression( kept it at high) for both color and grey scale and the file is about 41 mg. I played around with the settings in adobe acrobat specifically the pdf compressor and got it down to 20.1 but the quality of the photos were rly blurry. I compressed the pdf and optimised scan pages which got to the range of 20. However the standard of quality is not where it needs to be. This portfolio is to view both digital and printed but I save another version for printing so I will use  that one bc have high resolution photos etc. But how do I get my digital portfolio down to 20 mg. I thought about changing all my photos to tiff or psd bc I read make it smaller but honestly I am rly conf

Iv made an image and iv got a link sonic can share it with my friends.  But...I want it to be a certain size, so that when my friends open the link..they can just press print on their A4 printer, and the image is automatically printed at around ¼ of A4 page size... im using my android phone and the app. Im not very technically minded at all..so step by step would be greatly appreciated. Someone said that when my friends get the image via my link..they just set to print at 25%... but I don't know the size of my image to begin with.
