InDesign

Is there any script that can quickly generate three or four text frameworks in the type area?It is hoped that it is just full of the version of the heart, the spacing and height can be customized, and the width is determined by the quantity.There are horizontal or vertical arrangements. 

I have seven files that will become a single printed book. I've tried to save them AS a book in InDesign. My first attempt was going beautifully. To establish the styles, I began with the first interior section, then placed the others. I added the front matter, and tried to drag it in front of the first text section. The attached error message then appeared. Now the error occurs whenever I try to place the first section and the program stops responding. Why would this happen? There are no errors in the file. It is very long; over two hundred pages. Should I split it up? Is there another way to combine files? I've considered adding two hundred blank pages and copying and pasting in place but that is ridiculous. Presumably I could make separate PDFs and combine them into one, but that would also be extremely tedious. Why would this happen? How do I prevent it from happening? The strokes around the many images are .25. It's possible some are duplicated but why would that be a problem

Bonsoir à toutes et à tous, je rencontre un gros problème avec le logiciel Indesign : depuis que j’ai effectué la dernière mise à jour, je ne peux plus l’ouvrir. On m’indique que je n’ai plus accès aux préférences.Je suis sur un Macbookpro M1, système Sonoma 14,5. J’ai supprimé le dossier Indesign dans les préférences et celui du dossier caches, j’ai ensuite essayé de relancer Indesign mais j’ai la même erreur.J’ai désinstallé Indesign depuis Creative Cloud en supprimant au passage les préférences, puis j’ai voulu réinstaller l’ancienne version qui fonctionnait correctement. Mais maintenant à l’ouverture j’ai la même erreur.Je suis bloqué, j’ai besoin du logiciel car j’ai un travail en cours que je dois finaliser, je ne vois plus quelle solution utiliser pour résoudre ce problème ?A noter que j’ai également effectué la dernière mise à jour de photoshop Beta et il se lance correctement, ainsi que les autres logiciels Lightroom Classic, Illustrator et Acrobat. I've read several other discussions about this here n the support community, but none actually seem to address the problem. I have a book with several documents. When I open the book the book panel opens along with the InDesign window. I dock the Book Panel (yes, I do understand what docking is, promise!) Then I open a file to begin work, and the Book Panel disappears from the doc, and it IS NOT listed at the bottom of the Window menu. Only the document I opened is listed there, not the book. It IS NOT behind anything. I've closed and/or minimized every other window - it's not just hiding behind somehting else.I can't seem to find a way to re-open the Book Panel. I really need it for synching docs, numbering, etc.I think a bug was submitted for this, but I can't find that it was fixed (and if it was... it's baaacck!)Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance - this is really cramping my style! 

Hi im from france but im in USA for holiday, i want to use adobe like indesign but the application ask me to approuve connection because im not in french and when i autorized the connection the application put again the same message again and again and again... so i can't use adobe for anithing... and i can't contact the support because i m in another country so i have the same problem ...  thanks 😕😕 

Why is Publish Online not working today????When i try to publish a document the link goes to this "Document Not Fonud" page This is a major part of my workflow, I need a fix ASAP!

HiI have an issue with image previews in my layouts once they are placed. This doesn't happen automatically but more when I scroll through pages and return to a layout. If I move an image and then undo the move it will correct itself. This doesn't happen to all images all the time. Very unpredictable and disruptive to work flow.Thanks

If i create a slide in PowerPoint, I can click on a 'Designer' button and multiple alternative design options will appear for me to choose from (which tend to look far more professional than anything I have created).  Is there anything similar in InDesign? i.e. I'd like to upload a few photos and a bit of text and see it in lots of different formats, before fine tuning it in my selected one. 

Meu aplicativo parou de abrir e não consigo desinstalar ou atualizar a versão, apenas aparece a mensagem "Conflito na desinstalação do InDesign - Salve seu trabalho e feche os seguintes programas antes de continuar.", tudo fecha e quando tento desisntalar novamente, consta que não é possível porque o aplicativo já está sendo usado. Mas o aplicativo não abre mais e não aparece na lista de trabalhos em segundo plano do gerenciador de tarefas.

Hi, I've upgraded to the latest InDesign version, 2017.0, a couple weeks ago. Now that I've upgraded, I've been having problems keeping the Book window open after I open an .indb file. Typically, I'll open the .indb file and the Book window will open and I can see all the documents included in the Book. So I'll move that window over to the right-hand panel so I can access it at any time without the window being in the way. Now that I've upgraded, whenever I open another document (doesn't matter if it is an existing document or new document), that Book window disappears from the right-hand panel. I don't understand why. It's not that it closes completely because I try to reopen the .indb file again but nothing happens. And when I go to close the InDesign program, it asks me if I want to save the Book. It's really irritating to have this problem since I always work with book documents and need to have access to adding/removing documents from the book, or adjusting where each file exists

Hello, I'm creating a report through a book -structure with multiple chapters and additional appendices as such:1. First chapter 1.1 ---- 1.2 ---- 2. Second chapter 2.1 ---- 2.2 ---- 2.3 ---- 3. Final chapter Appendix A: A dataset Appendix B: Another dataset Appendix C: More datasets The appendices can be quite lengthy, so on the Master page I want to create a footer referencing the Master page. E.g. My massive report - Appendix A: A datasetI have been able to call "A dataset" in my master through text variables, but what I am unable to pull off is inserting the 'Appendix #' part for whatever appendix it is on. Can anybody tell me how I can obtain the paragraph number for a running header (text variable) or should I use some different way to let the footer follow the appendix numbering? Your help is appreciated

When I try to publish my document online it shows that its uploading but then when I click on the link to view the project it says "Document Not Found". And I don't see it on my dashboard. How can I fix this asap?

Hello! I'm having a problem with cross reference for Thai language and found out that this is involve world-ready single line composer. As for Thai language, I need to change paragraph to world-ready single line composer and checking on the x-ref in the indesign, it's green and clickableHowever, when export to pdf it's not clickable (page number might be disappear but this is fix on 2023 version)Comparing the pdf of world-ready single line composer (vowel in the correct position but not clickable)  single line composer (all vowel overlapped but clickable) Any ideas? please help thank you in advance.

Hey!I still wonder why InDesign hasnt learned it yet, or am I doing something wrong:I have place a picture from a multipage pdf-file onto page 1 in InD, many times.On page 2 I want to use a different page of my pdf. When I select X frames, and relink to the pdf unsing the import options to select a different page, the import-dialog gets shown a X times. How can I avoid this? It has to be possible to relink many pictureframes to a new source at once, right?How do I link these 12 pages to a different page, with one import-dialog?  

 Can multiple pictures be suitable for the type area, Automatic equivalence? Like like below.It is to choose the picture above, and automatically arrange the three columns of the same size and the same distance.I think this feature should be merged here.One is a distance distribution picture. Hallo, vielen Dank im Voraus für die Zeit die Sie investieren dieses Problem zu lösen! Ich erstelle eine Datei in InDesign und lege immer ein Ordner an für die Links-Bilder und Grafiken. Irgenwann kann ich auf manche Bilder nicht mehr zugreifen. Er meldet sich dann und sagt das mir die Zugriffsrechten fehlen. Kurz davor war noch kein Problem. Jetzt habe ich sogar ein Problem mit Exportieren. Einige Seiten von mein Datei bleiben bei JPG Export komplett weiß. Kein Text, keine Bilder. Nichts. Habe InDesign neue Installiert. Kein Erfolg. Die Datei rausgeholt auf eine Seite. Nichts. Und das obwohl einige Zeit zuvor diese Dateien ohne Probleme Exportiert geworden sind. Jetzt muss ich Änderungen machen und lässt er einfach einige Seiten komplett leer. Ich habe schon so viel an Lösungen probiert aber nichts hilft. Bilder auf Desktop legen auch nicht. Ich habe das Bild wo es problemen mit gibt anders abgespeichert, aber er Fügt es schon mal gar nicht ein. Wegen... keine Zugr

My printer is requiring a full bleed on a book--including on the inside/gutter. I have a graphic that needs to go from outside bleed to inside bleed. However, the bleed area shows on the facing page. When I create a PDF it still shows up on the facing page. See attached. How do I make this so the bleed doesn't print on the facing page? I've tried switching off Facing Pages, but then it throws off page elements and I'd have to go through and adjust items on hundreds of pages. Surely I'm not the only one to have encountered this problem. Merrill

hello everyone, I have a problem in creating a form with indesign: I can create and order the text fields to be edited in the .pdf file, I can change font and size of the boxes BUT I CANNOT FORMAT THE RIGHT FLAG TEXT: in fact I have to create a form to enter prices and the numbers have to be pasted on the right! can someone help me? thank you very much!

I have numbered section headings and I want to create a tab space between the number and the start of the text. So I have gone into the para style tab button and set a tab at 5mm. However, if I then go back to the text and enter a tab character, the distance is 25mm. Is there some minimum tab setting that I have to change or am I doing it all wrong?

Hi, I'm getting this query from the printer: "sum of ink exceeding maximum value of standard ISO 320% (350% in special conditions). Printing with supplied artwork may cause an problem with stability of colours on the printout or/and can cause sheets to stick together in stock. In current case sum of ink equals 355 %."   Does anyone know how export the image from photoshop, or what settings of InDesign I can change to avoid this?   Thanks!

I found another problem that can be improved.How to make the object quickly align to the reference line?It can only be manually aligned. This is too low, unscientific, and not advanced.Add a condition, press CTRL to select the object and reference line at the same time, and then align with the reference line.Hope adobe can see this.

Hi! I'm a treatment designer and, when I make a presentation, some images are animated GIFS. I normally use the command Publish and share the presentation with my clients, but I would like to put some of those pages up on my website, to show my portfolio. The problem is that I can't figure out how I could export the pages as independent animated gifs so that I can put those images up on the website. Hello! I have an issue with a publish online document. There are a few download buttons connected to a web link that work perfectly on Safari Browser but on Google Chrome instead of downloading an empty 'about:blank' page appears. Hi guys, have a look at the PDF attached. At the bottom is a button "add page" and "delete current page".How was this function created? Adding page is duplicating page 2 as often as wanted, and adds the correct page number too (with flaws sometime).Is it possible to create an interactive PDF like this from InDesign??? 🧐TIA! Andrea
