InDesign

Been experiencing this weird glitch/lag ever since I installed the new indesign update. Everything works fine and smoothly its just annoying this keeps happening. I just zoom in and out to make the page go back to normal before it happens again. Anyone know how to fix this?

When working in InDesign, entire objects (text fields, color areas, linked images) disappear and are no longer displayed. Not even their frames. The layers cannot be selected by clicking on the location where the elements are located. Zooming into the document or changing the view mode doesnt change anything in the visability of the objects.  However, the objects are still there in the layers window. Similarly, when exporting a PDF, the invisible objects become visible again. I can make the objects visible again by copying and pasting them onto a new page or by saving an IDML and opening it. However, the objects keep disappearing when working in the file.Tested with GPU turned on and off.

Ich benutze Illustrator 2023 da ich auf meinem alten Mac OS 10.15.8 keine höhere Version installieren kann. Leider kann ich seit heute Indesign nicht mehr öffnen muss aber noch zwei Wochen ein Projekt fertig machen ehe ich mich um den kauf eines neuen Mac kümmern kann. Wie bringe ich Indesign wieder zum laufen, damit sich dies nochmal mit Adobe verbindet und mein Abo bestätigt wird ?

After importing from Word, I often find myself with an unneeded style that InDesign thinks is in use somewhere. I try deleting it, and it asks what style to replace it with. But since I don't know where it's applied, I don't know what to replace it with. So I have to fire up Find/Change, select the styles menu, scan through my ~100 styles and select the one to search for. Why can't we have a right-click option to "Find this style" right from the Paragraph Styles pane? We can do that for colors, why not p-styles? Is there any way to use scripting to accomplish this task faster than manually searching the F/C dialog every time? Maybe a script to add to the right click menu, or another way to search that would be faster. I'm curious if anyone else has a better idea for how I can accomplish this. Thanks!

Después de la actualización 21.5.1 cuando abro un archivo en Indesign e importo texto, o si por ejemplo tengo combinación de datos,  si el texto tiene acentos o símbolos como el del euro, se cambian por otros símbolos…. Le ha pasado a más gente? Soluciones? Gracias. 

I was working on a project using Adobe InDesign (on a Mac), saving copies of the file as I went along, as well as saving copies to my desktop. I have finished the project, and no longer need the 20 copies I have saved. I deleted the copies from my desktop, but they still appear in InDesign. When I try to click on the copies, it says: Either the file does not exist, you do not have permission, or the file may be in use by another application. The thing is, I am the owner of the files, and my laptop is now losing 20% battery/hour while it is logged off because the program is using so much energy. How do I fix this problem?

I am creating an interactive pdf with fillable text fields. How do I turn off the spell check for the text which appears as a red "underline" when I type in the box in the pdf? Thanks!

Hi everyone, Can anyone help me? I'm trying to create an InDesign snippet that contains a table, but every time I place it on the page, it messes up the layout. Has anyone experienced this before or knows how to fix it? Apologies for my english, please see the photo for reference before and after of my snippet 

I installed the latest update to version 21, and InDesign won't launch. It doesn't give any errors, but it won't start. It doesn't do anything at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but that didn't work. Version 20 works perfectly, even the beta version 20.6. I tried reinstalling it by deleting the preferences, but that didn't work. I tried reinstalling the Creative app and reinstalling InDesign, but that didn't work.Bridge does the same thing, but it gives me error OXC0000142. InDesign, on the other hand, doesn't have any errors. Old Bridge works, but the beta version doesn't I have windows 11 last updatedWhat can I do?Thanks a lotNicola

When I create a table in InDesign 21.5.1 for an accessible PDF, IDs are not automatically generated. In Acrobat, the ID fields remain empty. In tutorials, however, I see that these are automatically filled in. Am I overlooking something?

win10, indesign，after v21.2, When layers of different types are grouped, copied to a new document, and then ungrouped, layer‑remembering functionality will fail.

At some point of the work, InDesign randomly stucks at a “checking” state. It doesn’t effect the work, the app works fine, only the cursor is “loading” which is really annoying. ALSO when I finally lose my patiente, and try to close the app, it won’t close. I have to use task manager, to close it. 

InDesign 21.4.1 on Mac Studio M1 Ultra Tahoe 26.5.1. Pretty simple and annoying bug. I am unable to stack/group panels on my workspace. This only pertains to the bottom 1-2 for some reason. You are able to place more panels below  I would confidently assume this is a reproducible bug. This has been present for the past few versions but I am just now reporting it. The workspace panel is one of the most important features for InDesign workflow and this is the second (albeit, not as annoying) bug I found that I didn’t even need to try to find…   From the gif you can see it seems like the bottom 2 groups cannot be stacked. It doesn’t seem like it matters what panel you grab.

A recent update seems to have left me with a beta version of Indesign. I have popups like 'Generative Expand beta'. I’m not a casual user, I use Indesign for paid work so don't want beta stuff. Also I'm quite competent so don't need 'ai' doing stuff for me. Perhaps we need ‘ai’ and ‘non ai’ update options? Sorry if I sound a bit annoyed as I don't know if Adobe read or reply on this forum. I see others have posted issues with different unwanted features. Advice for how to get rid of or disabling beta features (on an iMac) would be appreciated.

Hello, I’d love to have the separator line align to the grid but when I apply the first line to the grid it creates this random spaces between footnotes like between footnote 5 and 6. is there a way to align the separator to the grid but always have the footnotes with no space between them as 7 & 8?

Since they removed the Pantone library from the color swatch section, what’s the easy way to add a swatch? I read several threads about this from years past but all the solutions are now deprecated...

I need some hand-holding please.I just exported to pdf, and got this message, and would be happy to fix it if I had a clue what to do:The document's transparency blend space doesn't match the destination color space specified in the Export Adobe PDF settings.To avoid color appearance changes in the PDF, click cancel and change either the document's transparency blend space, or the destination color space.  Can you please translate that into English and tell me what to do?

Hello all,Today I am facing a completely new issue, at least for me: my boo document is open, I work on it, add some body text and photos, but when I try to save, Ctrl-S doesn’t work, and when I open the File menu, all Save options are grayed out.InDesign knows that my document has been modified, as you can see from the little asterisk in the attached screen captureA.When I try to close the document, InDesign asks logically if I want to save it, but when I click Yes, it tells me that it “cannot save the document”, without any explanation (see captureB attached).I am quite puzzled and would love to hear your ideas and suggestions.Many thanks in advance.Dominique

Avrei bisogno per il mio lavoro (impaginazione con diverse case editrici) della versione 18.0 (18.5) meglio ancora, di Indesign che su Creative Cloud non è più presente. Qualcuno mi può aiutare a scaricarla?

I just tried to start CS6 - Indesign, but I'm told, that my license is used on more than two Computers. When I login to my Adobe-Account, the Licensenumer is not shown and when I try to register it, it is already registered. When I try to add the same licensenumer while startig the software, the numer is not valid. What can I do?

Hi! In InDesign version 21.5.1, the OAM files generated in Animate don't work when I preview the spread in EPUB, nor when I export the document in Publish Online. I had to revert InDesign to version 21.4.1 for it to work as it used to. Any ideas on how to use the latest version and get the OAM files working?Thanks!

After I place photo in the file, I can’t save the file. This problem occurs regardless of the file format or path. 

Text wrap is off; even a one px movement makes the text vanish entirely; text is not partially cut off; textbox is all the way to the front.This is happening for all text boxes. When they are moved at all right now, the text turns invisible.Version is In Design 2026.

Hi Community, It would be really helpful if Adobe would integrate an automatic starting 'timer function' to every design i'm working on in InDesign/Illustrator etc. This way, I can easily track my hours and share them with my client.  My feature request: An automatic timer that starts automatically every time the document is opened - with an easy export function that exports date/hours/minutes to a .txt file - Actual working time (based on cursor movement)- Idle time (file open but no movement from cursor) BR Dennis
