InDesign

Hi,I have several documents containing multiple instances of a linked graphic which i'd like to replace with a special character.The yellow triangle linked image selected in the screenshot wants replacing with the wingdings yellow triangle shown in the line above above as it just looks better and is more efficient . Theres a LOT of instances of this so i was looking for an automated way to do it but can't figure how to do it using find/replace. Your help appreciated, Thanks

I have a file that I tried open yesterday and it said that the file was damaged. I opened and the file 'seemed' to be okay and I could continue to work but now that I've save and returned to the file the new file is now also saying it is damaged. Is there any way to fix this damage? I am also encountering issues with exporting to PDF and the hyperlinks are pretty messed up. I am wonder if this could be the damage? I'm on a tight deadline for this so any insight is appreciated.

 YouJ'ai un problème sur indesign, lorsque je souhaite dupliquer un bloc avec la touche "option", les deux flèches s'affichent, mais le bloc ne se duplique pas, il est simplement déplacé. I have a problem on indesign, when I want to duplicate a block with the "option" key, the two arrows are displayed, but the block is not duplicated, it is simply moved.

I have a document with a numbered list. For some odd reason when the list increments to 20, I'm seeing a big increase in indentation. When it increments to 21-29, it returns to normal (13, -13) but at 30, I see the increase in indentation. It doesn't happed at 10 - only 20, 30, 40, etc. There is nothing there like a shape with text wrap. I tried different left and 1st line indent values including zeroing them out, but nothing changes the bevahior. I tried creating a new paragraph style but still end up with this. I created a new text frame off canvas and each time I get to 20, 30, etc. i see the same thing happens. I tried swapping out fonts - no go. Any help would be grateful.    

InDesign (21.01) does not launch

This is not specific to InDesign. Upon doing routine updates to my creative cloud account, Several of my products are claiming "Not Compatible". My Windows 11 updates daily and I do have the most current version, I even update manually to ensure I am most current. How then, are these products suddently Not Compatible? I think it is a bug in the Adobe system, which is not reading my updates correctly (or at all). What do you suggest? Please forward this to the actual Adobe Support team, if there is a human one anymore.

Hi there, Sometimes Adobe fonts do not activate and show as missing, even though they are loaded in CC. I have to replace every time this occurs.In the Info panel of Fonts dialog box these 'missing" fonts show as 'Unknown'? It does not happen to every user so what is causing it?Problem fonts I've noted:GestaGaramond Premier Pro Thanks!

I have an issue where each time I load my project, it crashes when I try to edit certain pages or assets. One page in particular is super touchy and every time I touch anything on that page, it crashes. I tried to export to pdf so I could at least save what I have, but it crashed there too. I am collaborating with another user and the same thing happened to them, so I know it's not my computer. This is an educational resource for teachers that is grant funded, and is due Fri, so I need to have this done ASAP. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks - guy

Hallo Ihr Lieben, ich verbringe schon den ganzen Nachmittag damit. Ich möchte Bilder mit der Datenzusammenführung in Indesign darstellen. Ich habe der excel '@Bild in der kopfzeile, den Bildmen darunter 222.jpg In Indesign bei der Datenzusammenführung zeigt er das kleine bildicon an, doch er findet das Bild nicht. Ich habe es schon mit dem pfad probiert in der excel, und das bild liegt im selben ordner wie die .txt datei.  Bin mittlerweile verzweifelt, weil in der Vorschau und der ausgabe es nicht gezeigt wird, indesign sagt bild fehlt. Wäre für schnelle hilfe sehr dankbar.  

Currently on a mac running Tahoe 26.0.1. I'm having freezing issues for InDesign version 21.0.1 and 20.5.1. I've restarted my compture, uninstalled/reinstalled, cleared the cache upwards of 50 times. It'll occassionally work and then get stuck in an endless loop of being frozen forcing me to Force Quit.   This is supremely frustrating as I use InDesign primarily for 99% of all my projects.  Hi, I'm a Mac OS 15.6.1  user. I updated to Indesign 21.0 this morning. When I opened a file and tried to move the InDesign program to another extended monitor, the mouse didn’t work in the red area shown in the attached image. It’s not just me—my colleague is experiencing the same issue. We downgraded back to version 20.5 , and now everything works fine. I’d like to know if this is a program bug or if it’s just an issue on our end, and how we can fix it.     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello, I don't know if anyone is experiencing this but when I go to ungroup items, it deselects everything. This started happening when I updated to 2026. Anyone else notice this? Please let me know how to fix this so I can sleep at night.<Title renamed by MOD>

I have used InDesign for many years, and, to create a dashed line around an object, I have always gone to the stroke palette, entered the number I wanted the dashes to be spaced by, clicked enter, and had it changed.  Took about a second.  Now that space to enter the numbers is missing and it appears Adobe thinks I want to save that stroke as a style, go into yet another palette, play with some ruler, etc., etc., etc.  I can't believe they really chose to add so much extra work to something that was literally almost an after thought.  Does anyone know of a way to get those boxes back?  I use them all of the time and seriously don't want to have to waste my time creating a "style" that is not needed.  Each time I need a dashed line, it is custom for the particular item I am working on.  I am working on a PC in the latest ID.  Thanks for any help.GS

Are NVIDIA cards not compatible with adobe indesign? and if so, what is the reason that indesign can't see my card?

I'm at my wit's end with this book I'm working on. The author kept on checking the spaces between words and I already told him that because of the justification settings it will never be 100% equal in the entire book. With that being said, maybe someone can help me check if there's anything else I can do with this book. Maybe a tip on a good justification settings? right now, this is mine. (attached below.) I also attached the latest pdf of the book i'm working on.

I want to open my converted idml files from work and open them at home, it gets to 33% but then i keep getting an error message saying The IDML file conversion service is unavailable please try later, any idea when this service will be up and running again!

I am looking for a way to integrate a DAM application with InDesign such that I can use DAM assets in InDesign Documents. The challenge is that once the image is dropped into an InDesign file, we cannot track the image from DAM Prospect requirementsAbility track what all images that are used in InDesign files and trace /link them back to DAMAbility to notify users when new versions of images are created in DAMAbility to identify all files used by a specific image Is this possible through any plugin? Is there any way that we can notify that the used image has been updated or removed from DAM?

Bonjour,Depuis quelques jours je n'arrive plus à ouvrir les fichiers .indd depuis l'Explorateur Windows car ils ne sont pas associés avec la version 2025 d'InDesign (alors que ça a déjà fonctionné avant - j'ai la version 2025 depuis sa publication et ces fichiers ont été enregistrés avec).Un clic sur le fichier .indd ouvre InDesign 2024, mais le fichier étant enregistré avec la version 2025, Adobe me propose de mettre à jour mon logiciel (ce qui n'aboutit pas car le logiciel est déjà à jour).J'ai aussi essayé d'associer les fichiers .indd via les paramètres de Windows (j'ai Windows 11 professional) et via "ouvrir avec", mais je n'arrive pas à sélectionner la version 2025 d'InDesign : je trouve bien le fichier dans  C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign 2025\InDesign.exe, mais il ne se met pas dans la liste des logiciels disponibles pour l'association au fichier. Pouvez-vous m'aider ? I'm having the same issue as many others: when making any changes to text within a text box, like typing within it, cutting/pasteing, editing, etc. the text disappears. Sometimes it'll come back if I click out of the text box. Sometimes it comes back if I switch between normal and preview mode. It doesn't happen every time, but often enough to be incredibly annoying. I'm running:Mac OS 12.0.1Macbook Air M1 2020InDesign 17.0.1

I want to try out generating an image through C++. Do we have access to text to image feature through the C++ sdk?

How do you create global variables in a C++ plugin?

MacBook Pro M2 Max Chip 64GB memory, Sonoma, INDD v20.4.1Packaging files stops. The status indicator keeps circling and packaging process does not seem to finish. This began yesterday and has happened when attempting to package different files. The “Saving the Document” status bar is at ~10%. When I look at the background tasks it indicates the exporting the file is at 90 or 95% and exporting the PDF is queued. When I go to “Force Quit” applications sometimes InDesign looks fine, other times it is “not responding. Cancelling doesn’t work. I get impatient after a few minutes and end up force quitting INDD.When I look to see where I put the packaged folder. It’s there and everything is in the folder with the exception of the IDML file, sometimes the PDF isn’t there either. I've tried many times in the last 18 hours.OK – so then I try packaging without the IDML file and INDD locks up. Package Document status bar at the ~20% – status indicator (blue circle thingy) not visible in tool bar.
