Lightroom Classic

I currently have 34,735 photos in Lightroom, which is just under 2TB of storage. Roughly 2/3rds of these are stored on an external 5TB SSD which is hooked up to my iMac M4, and edited with Lightroom Classic. The other 1/3rd are older photos that I don’t access often, and are on a second external 5TB SSD. These are still connected to the Lightroom library in case I need to edit any for a business client.My problem is that my internal hard drive (512GB) on my iMac is getting full. Out of the 512GB, there is 117GB of Lightroom catalogs (names like “Lightroom Catalog-2-v13-3.zip”), most of which are 3 - 4GB in size, so roughly ¼ of my iMac hard drive is backups for Lightroom. I would like to clean out what I do not need. However, I am not sure what I can safely delete out of these 36 backups.Could anyone help me figure out how to go about this, please?

Hello! I have been using Lightroom for a couple months now (my subscription covers Lightroom classic, desktop, and mobile) and recently all of my photos in Lightroom have become pixelated. This pixelation occurred seemingly at random, and happened to all photos I have in Lightroom - it had never been an issue before and I adjusted no settings around the time this began. It makes the photos more difficult to edit, as I typically zoom in quite far to remove small background objects, and the pixelation best be seen once you have zoomed in. The problem goes beyond editing, however, as my photos save with this pixelation as well. This is happening on all versions of Lightroom I use (classic, desktop, and mobile). I will attach examples photos to this post... Here is the first photo, saved to my device in February, before the pixelation happened. Fix the scaling of the top menu (File, Edit, etc.) so that the size can be changed.  On a 4k monitor the size is tiny and not readable.  Changing the windows scaling does NOT the make the menus size change.  Changing the size in Lightroom preferences also does not change the top menu size. Most other Apps, such Microsoft Word, etc.,. scaling will change the top menu size but in Lightroom.  This problem has been around for 5+ years and it is NOT a Windows problem (their Apps scale).  See attached screenshot.  The ONLY way I found to change it is too change the monitor resolution to something lower than the actual monitor resolution.  That is NOT a fix.

Running MacOS,  15.7.9, LRC 15.5.1Clicked to create a virtual copy and stack count was updated to 2 on the thumbnail, but no thumbnail appeared for the virtual copyTried to expand the stack to show the original and virtual copy. Did not work. Clicked on the stack count and it changed to indicate I was seeing the virtual copy 2. Made edits to virtual image and clicked on stack count to go back to the original image (1 in the stack)  and it shows the changes made on the virtual copy. Click again to create another virtual copy and the stack count is updated to 3. Same behavior. Any editing changes to image are made to original regardless of which virtual copy the stack count shows is being displayed.  Clicked on Unstack and the stack count icon disappears from the thumbnail of the image, but no virtual copies of the original are displayed. This test was done in a folder with one image only. After the unstack step above the folder count showed 3 photos, 

I see that other people are having an issue with the before /after on LrC upgrade on our macs. I have an iMac and it is really annoying that it is blank when I hit the YY. Please fix asap.

After updating LRC v 15.5, I am unable to control or change camera settings on my camera when shooting tethered. The camera will not allow me to change apertures, shutter speed, ISO, focus points etc.When i disconnect tethering, it works fine.I am using Canon R5, Macbook Pro, Sequoia 15.7.1

I used to use HDR editing all the time and one day about 2 weeks ago it stopped working and says it's not compatible with my Pixel 10 Pro XL. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps. 

Ever since LRC 15.2 I’m no longer able to create AI masks on any image. It starts to createthe mask then exists the mask creation with out creating the mask.  I’m on the latest build of LrC and have updated the drivers for my Nvidia 5020 GPU. I do not get the same behavior on Mobile. 

Dear I would like to use a smart collection that depends on the keyword and I am having many problems:if the keyword has many words for instance “blue birds” and there is also a keyword “birds” if I look for photos with just “birds” it also shows photos of “blue birds” if I work  with keyword trees, for instance I do have “birds” and inside two other keywords “small” and “big”. Some photos do only have “birds” and other do only have “small” or “big”. If I ask the filter to show “birds” it also shows those photos with “small” or “big” keyword and that do not have the “birds”. another problem with the keyword trees: supose that I add another keyword “dogs” and inside it I have “small” and “big” keywords. I did not find the the solution to make the smart collection show photos with the specific  “big” keyword inside “dogs”. I have tried “dogs > big”, “dogs / big” but didn’t work I have been trying to use a synonim for each keyword with a code without spaces and asking to include the co

Hi, I had new 2nd shooter working with me yesterday, his CR3 files don’t show in my Lr Classic. I downloaded normal version of LR and all fine. I worked with CR3 files before and didn’t have this issue. Photos show fine in Photomechanic too. When i open a photo via photo viewer, it says “Locked” though i checked all settings and files are not locked, or read-only. I am lost of what else i can do ? 

I’m curious how other Lightroom Classic users handle the file-management side of their workflow when working with a lot of photos.After culling/editing/exporting, do you still end up doing things manually outside Lightroom — renaming files, moving images between folders, separating selects/exports, preparing files for another tool, etc.?I’d be interested to hear what your workflow looks like, especially the repetitive parts that Lightroom Classic doesn’t completely cover for you.

On my laptop I use Lightroom & Lightroom Classic. I am told that Lightroom Classic can be used on 2 devices. How do I get it on my phone. I downloaded the free Lightroom from the App Store. Is that different to the version I pay for.

i deleted light room classic files and now im trying to export files from aftershoot to lightroom classic and it wont open

Lightroom Classic 5.7 terminates when trying importing files.Worked well av few hours ago but now when starting the computer and Lightroom it terminates immediately.

1-i click normalwell than just do this and no Denoise3-now I can click again but no work ofc 

I’m trying to bring out more luminance in my photos on my MacBook Pro with an XDR display. When I increase Exposure, Lights, or Whites to expand the histogram into the extra HDR stops, the colors end up looking like they came from an acid festival.When I check the exported HDR photo in the Gain Map Demo App, I notice that the gain map contains colors. However, when I look at HDR photos from Instagram or the Radiance+ app on iOS, their gain maps appear monochrome.Why is it like that, and how can I change it? Also, why does adjusting the HDR version of the photo affect the SDR version too? I already have a finalized SDR photo—I just want to add luminance for HDR without altering the SDR image.

In Lightroom Classic, when I use either the Radial or Graduated Filter, there is no handles. I cannot adjust the filter because there is nothing which allows me to move it with. Is this how it should be. It is not like this in Lightroom.

If I have two keywords, say, “Bob” and “Mary” I know how to search for all photos containing BOTH keywords. Is there a way to search for all photos containing one OR the other (or both)?

Create collection in LR not working. I click the button, nothing happens. Even with Smart Collection too.. no error message or anything.  I’ve tried to reset the preferences, I created a duplicate/new catalog. Nothing is working. Also, I can duplicate a collection, but I cannot rename it..

J’ai posé une question il y a plusieurs semaines sur le thème [Lightroom Classic Discussions] Re: problèmes récurrents de synchronisation impossible à diagnostiquer. Je n’arrive pas à la retrouver dans la nouvelle communauté, et les liens contenus dans les notifications ne débouchent sur rien. Je veux reprendre la discussion et qu’on trouve enfin une réponse à mon problème !une personne Anshul_Saini m’avait demandé de lui envoyer par message privé un gros fichier de diagnostic. Il m’en a fait un accusé de réception, depuis plus rien. comment retrouver les messages enoyés et reçus ?Comment peut-on avancer ? je suis las de la complexité du fonctionnement de ce forum.
