Lightroom Classic

Hello,my module does not show the tools for editing (see picture), how can I reactivate them?Thank you!   

Importing files by USB from my Nikon Zf. have been problematic. I added a screen shot below illustrating the issue. I always Import and Copy to a destination on my PC. It will display 1 preview out of 30 files at times while the remaining are greyed out. At times It may show 25 previews and errors for the rest.   If outside of Lightroom I browse the files using a card reader I have no issues. I can many times also read the card on the camera and copy and paste to a destination on my hd first, before them Importing to LR Classic and simply Adding them in place to the catalog.   The main problem is just my common method of pluggin in, transferring to my PC and charging the camera. A second issue and this is weird but may be related. Just reading the files on camera I'll normally navigate there in file manager and as soon as I double click to open the folder, file manager closes.  I don't normally cable up the Zf, as my laptop (Surface Book 3/W11/Nvidia) has a SD card reade

I'm reorganizing my photos as a NY resolution and I have an entire drive of about 2tb of images that needed to be offloaded to RAID backup.So I created a new catalog and used the move option to put them on the RAID drive.After about an hour or two I start getting low space warnings on my C drive.I tracked it down to LRc making this obscenely huge file - 625GB and counting!This thing is in my user folder.  First off there should be an option to relocate this file to another location.SSD's are very common for the boot drive and typically only 1 to 2 terabytes.I have no idea why Microsoft and others like Adobe make the rash assumption that everything needs to get dumped into a USER folder that cannot be easily relocated.Adobe - how can this get fixed?  You allow me to specify a cache drive - why not other hungry settings?

HiI can't import any photos in LrC on my Macbook M4 Pro.When inserting an SD card in the computers slot, LrC recognises it and shows the card in the import window. But no photo previews are shown, so I can't import anything.I also can't import photos that are already on the harddisc. Again, no previews.I have no problems importing photos with Lightroom or Photoshop, only with Lightroom Classic. What do I do wrong? LrC is Version 14.1.1The Macbook runs Sequoia 15.2 Thanks for your help! Stefan

 Hi, I would really appreciate some help with this problem as it is driving my mad! I think it must be something obvious but I just can't see it. I have been using lightroom classic for a few years now and this has been an ongoing problem. I have a macOS Monterey version 12.6, although this, the memory and the graphics are not the problem, as will be explained later. When my photos are imported from my camera to lightoom, the images always look more worse. I am importing them raw, I have tried all different options anyway, so nothing there is the problem. Once in lighroom on develop mode they automatically sharpened, but made to look much more grainy. I can then remove the grain with luminance, this is still annoying though, as original photos are so much clearer. I have previously been through the Lightroom preference menu and have tried all the different advice on all these settings, tried everything nothing worked. Now this is where thing

I updated my 2015 iMac to Mac OS Monterey and the Lightroom CC + Photoshop Apps. At first it was running great but now the masks are super slow. And in certain cases they apppear where I did not place them (when using the brush). I tried optimizing Lightroom but not sure it it's correct or not. Once a photo has been uploaded full size to lightroom mobile and then downloaded to classic you should have the option to remove the original from mobile and replace it with a smart preview. This is the response I got from tech support : "buy more storage space" When I said that I didn't need more they said to do this:1. upload images from Lightroom mobile2. then open lightroom web and download all those uploaded file to local storage3. after that delete those files from cloud to free up space.4. And then import those downloaded images in Lightroom classic.And sync them with cloud.Once you sync those images from classic then they will be uploaded as the previes in cloud which will consume very minimal space  

I create 1:1 previews of all my photos, and for a long time now I've been having an issue where, when I select a bunch of newly edited images and I tell Lightroom to make 1:1 previews of all of them, it will inevitably get stuck in some image and never finish generating the preview. Which causes the preview generation process to stall forever (until it's killed). From what I've been able to tell, this always seems to happen with the last image in the selected group. The only solution I've found so far has been to restart Lightroom, after which I can tell it to once again make previews for the selected images and this time it will finish. This happens both when I use LR in my desktop and in my laptop. I don't think LR has been able to finish generating previews one single time on either machine in the last year (if not longer) without needing a restart first. I'm running Lightroom Classic 14.1.1, but this has been happening for several of the last versions of LR.&nbs

I am using LRC 14.1.1 on Windows 11 and am having issues with Keywords.I have a photo with 2 faces tagged:Marianne (Maria) Menechella (Biagio Sister)Spano (Menechella?)The photo has also been tagged with with those 2 keywords plus a third tag:Marianne (Maria) Menechella (Biagio Sister)Mary MenechellaSpano (Menechella?)When I change one of the faces to the third tag (Mary Menechella), that part of the Keyword Tree gets blown away. Why? I have nearly 2800 keywords. 

i shooted photos with my sony a7iv in s-log 3 mood when i open it in lightroom it gives me different expoure diffrent clolors all is differnt i need to reset it to normal RAW filr can someone help ? 

Help wanted: First of all, best wishes for 2025. Who can help me? I have the latest version of Lightroom Classic and use a NAS system. I recently switched and installed an extra NAS. Now my LR system is out of order. In the library module I see all my folders on the left.   The folders are://Diskstation/photo//DiskStation/photo   Both folders are the same, only in LR Classic they are displayed separately due to the difference in name. Now I have changed the name on the new NAS to Diskstation, but in LR this is not changed. Not even after a new synchronization.   Who has tips & tricks to solve this?   Thanks in advance for your help.   Kind regards, Arnold

First of all, excuse me for maybe not describing my questiona well enough in English. I do my best.I have my recent RAW files on PC. (Say the last 3 years) The old ones I store in the cloud and harddisks to give space on my PC. So I do not use the catalog anymore when it comes to the older years. But still those data remain in the catalog.And that catalog gets bigger and bigger (it seems) till a point where I also have to start a new catalog. But than I loose the data from the current years.Is there a way to remove the old years from the catalog but keep the years that are still on the PC?Thank you.

is it possible to make a selection in lightroom and apply the transform tool?

Has anyone had this issue. I've shot them properly exposed and yet when imported to lightroom they turn almost pitch black.  Any help?? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hello,  this is my first time posting to the community. Thank you in advance for your help and patience. While using LR classic the ai masking tools are not working. I do not receive any error message, the new mask box appears briefly when I click "subject select" for example but then immediately disappears. I have checked my graphics drivers and PC tells me they are both up to date (Intel (R) HD Graphics 630 and Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics)  . I try to export video (only landscape foto) but after 10% completion it stops and does not end the process, without any warning (I tried to wait for two hours).Also 480*270 doesn't work!.  I am using last version of  classic CC 7.1 on IMAC High Sierra 10.13.2

Hi I'm fairly new to lightroom. I was trying to click the sync button in the bottom right next to "sync settings;" however, both of the buttons seem to be grayed out and it won't allow me to click either. I tried to look up how to troubleshoot this issue, but nothing seems to work.

Since a month ago or so the removal tool in LRC has stopped working. I.e. I can select the tool and mark the area that I would like to remove and the tool start working. BUT nothing is removed!? The tool has worked and I have used several times. I work perfectly well in PS. Regards Leif J.

I love editing in HDR in Lightroom. I've done a bunch of experimentation with improved HDR image format support in MacOS Sonoma and iOS/iPadOS 18. I thought I'd share what I've found, as there are some solid improvements! It's definitely going to increase my use of HDR in Lightroom after the limitations of Sonoma/iOS 17. Obviously, this isn't official documentation, but I hope my experience is helpful. Overall, I tend to do any significant editing in Lightroom and then move images back into Apple Photos for "complete" library storage. I've been exporting HDR AVIF out of Lightroom until now. Looks great on my iPhone, but Apple software is pretty tetchy about sharing it. Hi, My Lightroom has lost all the edit history. I had already the issue a month ago where all the edit history was lost and the pictures were reverted to the original state. I could see in real time how the previews were re-generating and losing all the edits. I managed to find an old catalog and restore from it, meaning I lost only 5 months of edits instead of 20 years. Yes, I started with Lightroom in 2004, and I almost had a heart attack when I thought 20 years of work were lost. Now it has happened again. This time the images retain the edits, I can export and see the edits. But the history is empty again. In the attached heavily edited image you can see that there are several masks but the edit history is empty.    I have also seen that the backup file has gone down in size. Originally was 1,6 GB, then it went down to 640 MB, then to 500MB and now it is 474MB. So, basically, the information is gone! I am going to go back to the catalog with the e

Once I select Export (it doesn't matter which one) Lightroom takes several minutes to open the Export dialog panel.I'm at my wits end - I've tried: Restarting Lr Restarting computer (yes, turn it off and on again) Restart Lr with default preferences Use new empty Catalog file and import single image for export Removed Lr and installed fresh instance from Adobe site I've tried a few of these in combination with others. I've also done a whole Catalog Export to a new Catalog - in the past this has filtered out corruptions or peculiarities in the old catalog and given a better, faster, version. Not this time though. I like to create web galleries from Lightroom collections.  The process is simple and easy to create the galleries by making the Lightroom collection public.  The problem I have is that I don't know how to sort the galleries once they are on the web.  Changing the order of the Lightroom collection doesn't affect the order of the web gallery at all.  Does anyone know how to sort these web galleries.  Here's an example web gallery at https://lightroom.adobe.com/shares/0f4b5032f2834cfdbcabb1e7b31a2c16.  The picture below is a the same photos in the original Lightroom collection.
