Lightroom Classic

Client reported error message when trying to backup due to lack of space on hard drive.  They contacted Adobe and they created a new catalog but the problem still exists. It backed up one time then fails on subsequent tries.  Catalog and backups are on Internal Mac HD with over 400 GB of available, images on externals.  Tried a new catalog tried moving backups to a new location Checked permissions on drive and folders Any other suggestions?   Mac Sonoma 14.5 Lightroom Classic 13.5

I may remember this incorrectly. Or something changed. As I remember it, when you choose to Edit in Photoshop (from LrC), upon finishing your edits in PS, if you choose "Save As" instead of "Save", the finished photo would not import into the LrC catalog automatically. To Clarify, two workflows as I remember in the past: In LrC select a photoSelect Edit In PSAccomplish the editsIn PS select "Save"In LrC, the new image appears in the catalog or In LrC select a photoSelect Edit In PSAccomplish the editsIn PS select "Save As"In LrC, the new image does not appears in the catalog, you would need to SYNC. So, am I remembering urban folklore, or has something changed Oh, and:LrC v13.5PS 25.11.0WIN 11Files tested are Fuji RAF.PS save as TIFFCatalog and photos on local hard drives, OneDrive not used, Cloud not used. Buen día he notado que con la nueva version de ligthroom al exportar fotos en formato JPG con una resolucion de 480x654 con peso maximo de 38k, estas se ven siuper pixceleada, he tenido que cajar la versión 10.4 en esta version no tiene problema y exporta con muy buena calidad, alguen puede ayudarme saber a que se debe, o que estoy haciendo mal? lo he piorbado en MAC y Windows y es el mismo caso. 

I previously had a MacBook Air from 2013. I use Lightroom and have always had it set up with the catalog and photos on an external hard drive to save space on my internal hard drive. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 2020 with the new m1 chip. I had seen that Adobe Lightroom was supposed to be compatible (and run native), so I assumed no issues to upgrade. Now, when I try to open my catalog on the new computer I get an error message saying "Lightroom cannot open the catalog named "xxx" located on volume "yyy" because Lightroom cannot save changes to this location." with a further message that "Lightroom Catalogs can not be opened on network volumes, removable storage, or read only volumes." Can catalogs no longer be housed on external hard drives? If so, how do you solve moving between computers? And if a catalog can still be housed on an external hard drive, any idea what my mistake is?

Hi. I replaced the graphics card and for some time I have had a problem as in the image below.The blur is very strong and misses the point. I don't know how to describe it so that you understand me. Hi allive accidentally removed a folder with 5k images in itwhen I sync that folder back into where it wasall the edits I've done are gone it's just the raw imageshow do I get my edits backtoo many images to re edit hope someone can helpthank you

Mac Mini 2023 M2 chip 16GB memoryLightroom Classic 12.5 release Build [202308091523-68a7abd6] When I press \ or YY button to view the before and after changes in the develop module it shows the before with a colder white balance. This starts partway through editing my imports and even if I have not made any changes the before and after should be the same. Looking at the photo in the library you wouldn’t know that there was a problem, the photo is as expected.I edit my photos in the order they are in the folder.  The initial edited photos have the correct before, then the problem occurs and the remaining edited/unedited photos with the WB problem.  E.g. a folder of 114 images, numbers 84 to 114 affected.Also, if I edit a photo and then press \ and find that the white balance has changed and become cooler, if I then return to the after view, very occasionally, I have lost all of my edits, they have reset to 0. The history is still there so if I click on each change the set

I‘m looking for suggestions about publishing 2,000 or more images on the web for our historical society. Our museum’s image collection has keywords from a custom controlled vocabulary which provides a great way to navigate them in Lightroom CC Classic on the desktop. This works very well for in-person visitors working with our archivist. Now we want the public to enjoy similar online web search features by exposing our keyword tags and hierarchy in the image browser. Does Adobe offer an image publishing feature for the web that shows keywords and hierarchy for navigation?What other vendors offer web image catalog products with good keyword support?I looked at candidate solutions from Adobe. As far as I can tell, Adobe Behance doesn’t show keywords and is intended for small (a few dozen) images in collections. At work, we organize and store pictures via a Lightroom Classic catalog. The catalog is shared via a shared server, that you must connect to before accessing the images in LRC. I upload the raw photos, along with the XMP sidecar files to the Lightroom Classic catalog. On my computer, the pictures show they are edited in the previews and elsewhere. The issue is when my co-workers access the catalog and synchronize folder, the photos appear but they are not edited. Is there are reason the XMPs are not syncing to their computers? Is there an extra step I have to do? Or is this not an LRC problem, but rather a server issue? I'm using a Mac, and so is one other coworker. The other is using Windows. Hopefully, this makes sense. I'm rather new to this job and have not used Lightroom Classic as a catalog before.

I have been using Lightroom for a while so this is a new issue. When I now go into Library to review my photos, they are all there but all grayed out. I followed the 'Color Management' process to make sure default is RGB, but the problem did not go away. Any ideas what it could be and how to fix it? The strange thing is that when I go into Develop, the images are still grayed out but when I click on one, that one will show also temporarily in the thumbnails and on the bigger window. When I click on another image, the thumbnail of the previous imagine becomes grayed out again. Help!

I've recently purchased a new Copilot+/Snapdragon X Elite laptop, and running Lightroom Classic via the 'copy/transfer' workaround method that many other users have suggested, in order to circumvent the lack of native availability on these devices.  At first all was working well, now I'm noticing certain AI features aren't working consistently. Masking in particular is being painful; it will work on some images, but not in others in the same gallery. I've not encountered this when I was using LRC on my previous device. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Recently upon launching Lightroom Classic, I received a message saying my catalog was corrupt. I initiated the repair process, which it completed, and upon launching Lightroom Classic afterward, all of my files are in a random order when I try to sort by "capture time", most of the previews no longer show, and the metadata doesn't show in the metadata tab. As you can see from the screenshot, there appears to be a date below the files, but not on the right side in the metadata tab. Also a lot of photos that were shot vertically are appearing horizontally.   Any tips on how to correct this?     [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules. I have used an external harddrive in the past to store my photos. When I go to import now from it, it won't show ANY of the folders. I know it has at one point because my library has the harddrive listed with other folders that have been imported in the past. Lightroom is recognizing the harddrive and that it's connected (because it shows it as an option in the import panel). But it just says "no photos found." As you can see, it show the harddrive, and it's expanded to show subfolders, but no subfolders are showing. (And yes, I have tried with the "show subfolders" box clicked too.) I am using a MacBook pro 2019, Ventury 13.6.9 Any ideas?

For some reason I can no longer advance the selected image from the film strip by pressing the left or right arrows.  I thought I had a defective keyboard (after a small coffee spill) so I replaced the keyboard but to no avail.  Hopefully someone can help me resolve.  The up and down arrows do work in the G view mode but no lateral movement with the L R arrows.

When I begin a new book project I generally dublicate an existing book, select it as the Target collection and then remove all the photographs from the filmstrip before adding new ones. This use to work fine but I have noticed that now when I do the same process  and subsequently change the layout of a page that the original photos reappear. I then have to remove these photos from the target collection again. This does not impede the creation of my book but is slightly annoying!  Any solutions?   [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules. LRC stopped opening all of a sudden on laptop with windows 11. I was running v13.4 and reinstalled and still wouldn't open. It shows up in task manager only. I deleted again and installed the earlier version and it worked fine for a month the there was an update to windows 11 and it repeated the same problem. I deleted and reintalled the last three versions and LRC still won't open, only shows up in task manager. I've read some of the fixes and tried looking for the cache file metrics. json to delete it like suggested and its not there.Thanks in advance for any ideas you can offer

I have a Mac Studio with the latest OS and Lightroom version along with the up to date camera raw version. I recently purchased a Lecia SL3 and the profile doens't show up when importing a DNG. I see my Leica M11 profile show up but for some reason the Leica SL3 does not. After talking to Adobe Support they say the Leica SL3 profile is not in the application. How does one import the camera profile? 

My current catalogue is using 41GB of RAM, which is larger than the amount of disk space the catalogue is using.  Is this a bug?  It's soooOOOOOooooo slow I cannot do any work.What's it trying to do? Is it loading all the photos into RAM? Or is Adobe scanning them all and stealing them for their Firefly?I reset Lightroom, tried it without GPU, but Lightroom Classic 13.5 is making my life a misery.  I done with this nonesense.System Specs:Threadripper Pro 3975WX 256GB RAM Nivida RTX A6000 Windows 11 Pro 8 x 1TB nvme M.2 drives - One for system and software, one for projects, a few for media files and exporting locations and one dedicated entirely to cache folders for all the software.😞

Greetings, Using LRC on my desktop computer, I store my images in external hard drives connected directly to my computer through a switchable hub that allows me to turn on the specific hard drives I am working with.  When everything is working, they appear as folders in LRC as Vol2, Vol3, etc with the appropriate subfolder structure for each external hard drive.  I also back up LRC each time I exit as a safety precaution and periodically, I delete old backup folders because they occupy so much memory.  I delete all but about 5 or 6 of them while LRC is running and upon exiting, I create a backup. Over the past month or so, subfolders of Vol2 would show subfolders of a different drive and all of the subfolders are grayed out, e.g. Vol5.  At the same time, the same issue would appear at other folders/subfolders and all of the folders would be grayed out.  Sometimes when this problem appears, one of the external hard drives does not appear in the list of

Adjusting any slider in the Basic panel in Develop will update the process version to PV6. I suspect this is a bug, but perhaps it's the intended behavior. I understand that this probably affects exactly zero users in normal use. To reproduce:(1) select a single photo in Develop and reset it(2) in the Calibration panel, set the Process to Version 5, 4, or 3(3) Adjust any slider in the Basic panel (exposure, contrast, etc.)(4) See tht the Process has reverted to Version 6 I'm using LrC 13.5 on MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1.

I messed up.  I accidentally deleted over a thousand photos from flickr, and have 572 more photos in a group marked "Deleted photos to remove" that I *DO NOT* want to remove from Flickr.I know there's nothing I can do from within Flickr, but after reading through all of the answers in the Adobe forum, I'm not sure if there's any hope for fixing things or escaping more damage through Lightroom.Here's what happened:I edited about 50 or so photos in LR and prepared to publish them in flickr.  I have only one publish service for flickr in Lightroom, named "Photostream". About half of over 10,000 photos in my flickr photostream were published through Lightroom, the other half through other methods. When I dragged the 50 photos into my "photostream" publish service in LR, I noticed that there were over 1,500 photos in a group marked "Modified photos to re-publish".  Not sure why they were there, since I didn't make any modifications. Hello, 2 questions :  1/ When you transfert a Collection from LightRoom to Porfolio, how can you make sure that the target will use the personalized order of Lightroom and not the capture date? It drive me crazy as once tranfered, I need to change again all the order of my photos in Porfolio 😞 2/ Is it possible to move multiple photos in once when you want to change the order of the photos in the grid 3/ How can you change the cover image of a Portfolio collection. It always take the first one.
