[Branched off from a thread about keywords in Lightroom (not Classic]Keyword List doesn't automatically remove keywords that have no photo associated with them, I have plenty in my library and tried to remove (delete) them using the SDK. Unfortunately the SDK doesn't expose a delete keyword capability as far as I've seen.I'm using Lightroom v 15.3 (latest update available in my subscription) and I have quite a lot of keywords in my Keyword List that show ZERO photo count.
LRC folders went to desktop. I drug and dropped each folder into one folder I named all photos. I have lost about 5 months of photos. Some folders I dropped are there but many are missing. I’m hoping I can get them back. I don’t know what I need to do.
How do I add a new slide to a saved slideshow? I can add the slide and see it in the filmstrip, but it is grayed out, and does not appear when playing the slideshow.I can add it to the original collection from which I created a slideshow, but then I have to rebuild the slideshow over again. The original collection won't include it in a slideshow either, and when I resave the collection to a new slideshow, the photos are out of order, meaning I have to replicate my work over and over…To be clear, I am not talking about an exported slideshow, just a saved slideshow. This info in this thread doesn’t seem to match my experience.
Everytime I quit LrC the catalog corrupts even if I do a backup. I have to go back to a previous backup from before the 15.3 upgrade to get it working again, but I loose work when this happens.Just to be clear LrC was working fine until the last update 15.3, now it corrupts the catalog every single time the progam exits, and I do a backup every single time. Once again, it was working fine before. The catlog hasn’t been moved at all. Its on the local drive. I backup everytime I exit because of the immensely fragile nature of the catalog and it seeming to corrupt if the wind changes direction.Anyone else see this? Is there a fix for this?
Hi there,If I use Super Resolution on a .NEF file in Lightroom, and then go Photo > Edit In > Edit in Adobe Photoshop 2026 I get the error message “Could not open ‘XXXXXXXX.NEF’ because the file-format cannot parse the file.” This is a recent problem, and I am 80% sure it started after I updated to the most recent versions of LR and PS. Are there any known fixes for this, or is it time to roll back to previous versions of the software? I am currently getting around the problem by Super Resolutioning, and then exporting a PSD, but this is a rather clumsy fix, it would be great if the old functionality could be restored. I have made a print preset for a collage of to pictures that i use daily as a real estate photographer. After buying a new mac and updating LR the print preset does not get active after clicking the preset in the preset-library. The presets shows up as normal in the library on the left side of LR. But nothing happens when clicking it. After resetting preferences it works just fine, but the next time i open LR it is not working and I have to reset prefs again. It is a hassle cause I cannot set up my workflow properly because it resets every time prefs are reset. LR 15.3 Macos 26.4.1 (M5 MBP) _Andreas
LRC won't start past update 14.4. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled. Followed all guides, nothing. It’s been like this for months but now i’m getting fed up paying for something that doesn‘t work. I have been using LrC on this (Windows 11) computer for over a year now with no issues, with the last time I used it about a week or 2 ago. Now neither Lr or LrC will open when I try to launch them. Both showed that they needed to update in the Creative Cloud Desktop, but the update didn’t fix either. I uninstalled and reinstalled LrC with no change, as well as multiple restarts of computer, deleting the .lock, .shm, and .wal files, as well as ctrl clicking and alt + shift clicking to launch, and even resetting/deleting preferences. Nothing has made a difference. I click to open (both from desktop icon and from within Creative Cloud Desktop), and the Windows loading wheel icon shows briefly, but then nothing happens at all. The apps show up as running in task manager, but nothing ever opens. I have of course ended task and tried all of the above again. Still no luck.
OK, I have 1000 headshots, shot al all different focal lengths. I edit it down to 100. I crop one to the client's standards and would love to be able to auto-crop the others to a similar crop. Yes, this will require VERY SIMPLE AI.
I’ve spent YEARS thoroughly placing each photo on the correct location by dragging them from the film strip onto the map in the map module. Only recently did I notice that when zooming in on my house for example, that the photos have moved around significantly, causing them to be placed on top of neighbouring houses etc. What is causing this to happen? Adjusting all thousands of photos again would take a lot of time, and I presume it will be bugged once more. I notice there are similar bug reports from many years ago, but they seem to be connected to Windows users. I use Lightroom Classic on Mac only. We pay a lot of money each month for your products. This should be fixed immediately!Anyone have suggestions for other software to add geo data to your photos?
After updating to V15.3 LRc will not open, in Force Quit (on mac) it is listed as not responding. I am using Mac Tahoe 26.3.1.
Now Users can enter to caption multiple lines. But no way to identify it. please add for display on collections like as ’ …’ .
I have a new PC laptop and I'm considering the purchase of a Mac Studio. I want to keep my Lightroom and Photoshop files on a new (unused, unformatted) Samsung 2TB T7 SSD. I have a 1TB T5 filled with Lightroom files. I'm a lifelong PC user and would be new to the Mac. How can I easily and safely work between machines? I'm pretty sure the T5 is formatted NTFS. Would I be best served by building another PC instead of purchasing the Mac Studio? I'm not giving up the laptop and 95% of my editing will be on the desktop. I simple want the ability to process while travelling on the laptop occasionally.
Imported Fujifilm RAW photos default to "Adobe Colour" when they should "Provia/Standard". I have my default import set to "camera settings", but Adobe Colour is still being defaulted.
Since v15.0 of Lightroom Classic, users have been able to activate “write changes to sidecar XMP/ACR files.” According to Adobe, activating the creation of sidecar files will significantly reduce the size of the catalog. I have not found this to be the case. I recently performed a test to measure the change to the catalog size when sidecars are activated. I created a test catalog and imported 108 Nikon NEF raw files. I then applied AI Denoise/Raw Details to one photo, and synced this setting with the other 107 photos. I closed the catalog and went into Windows Explorer to check on its properties. The .lrcat file was 5.10 MB in size and the .lrcat-data file was 1.38 GB in size. I then opened the catalog and checked the box to activate writing sidecar files. I then clicked on the Metadata menu option and selected “Save metadata to file”. I waited for the progress bar to complete, checked the image folder to confirm XMP and ACR files had been created and closed the catalog. Returning to E
I upgraded from a Nvida 1070 to a 5070 Ti 16GB. In some ways I see a significant improvment in performance like AI Denoise and exporting, and third party plugins. But it hangs on images taking moments to render previews. This did not happen with my six year old GPU. Troubleshooting with AI alluded to Pipeline rendering issues. I disabled Acceleration and the problem went away but this is not a solution. I spend a thousand dollars on this GPU to speed up my workflow. PS, I have studio drivers installed. I’m considering swapping them out to see if that fixes the problem. About 1 year ago I created a collection of about 200 of my favorite photos for the purpose of choosing 25-30 for a print project. The collection was synced with LR. These were all photos from my LRC catalogue, residing on my local hard drive. Last week I started to export some of my photos for printing, and discovered that about 50 files were missing, although the smart preview and xmp files were still present. I tried to locate them in the parent folder and could not see them. When I tried to locate the files with the LRC finder I was directed to the Mobile downloads lr folder, which they were not in. I tried to manually locate these files in their original folders on my hard drive and searched my entire computer with the help of an IT person and could not find them anywhere. I use a cloud based backup (dropbox) and searched with the help of a representative and could not locate them in any deleted files folder. The vase majority of these files were photos I had brought into PS and sa
Lr Classic 15.0.1 macOS 26.1 Steps: 1: Enter Develop mode for Photo A 2: Click Copy... to copy settings 3: Select all settings.... but uncheck Crop 4: Go to Photo B and paste settings (if prompted select either Merge or Replace... it doesn't affect reproducibility) Results: I see the crop was applied to Photo B even though crop was not selected when pasting. I didn't test this for other combinations of settings but perhaps others here might have other occurences of their own.
I’d love some advice on a good desktop PC that can handle running Lightroom Classic and all it’s features. I’m not terribly tech savvy, so not all numbers & stats have meaning to me, but I know I want a desktop because I’m particular about the monitor I use. I also don’t want an Apple product, simply because I’m used to PC (and I’m old & don’t want to relearn a bunch of things). I know there’s a strong need for certain GPU standards, and I don’t want it to be sluggish, and I don’t want to run out of memory quickly. I hope someone can offer a couple good options. Thanks very much!
I run the latest version of Lightroom Classic on an M1 MacBook Pro with 2Tb of memory, about half of which is in use; I want to transfer my library of about 120,000 images that’s just under 5Tb on an external drive to a new, larger external drive. My catalogue is on my desktop. I’d really appreciate having the simple, idiot-proof instructions on how to do this. Thanks!
When I’m in Develop module, and I have Split View (R / A ) in Reference view. The Develop keyboard shortcuts aren’t active. So if I press ], instead of making brush bigger, LR will add stars to the picture I’m trying to work on. It’s incredibly annoying.
LR says I am missing many files, but what I have discovered is mutiple photos share the same file name beacuse I did not change the file names from my camera and it rolled over the number sequence. How do I bifurcate the same file name for mutiple photos without creating endless work? Is there a quick fix? Thank you.
After upgrading from 15.1 to 15.3, Lightroom Classic now crashes on startup.
Restore backup of catalog with 2391 folders and 48695 photos. Open current catalog. Select Import from Another Catalog. Open restored backup of the same catalog. Catalog Contents does not show all folders; stops at 2024\2024-12-28; folders for following years not shown, boxes to left of folders do nothing. Restored backup catalog passes integrity check, opens and works normally, and 2025 - 2026 folders are present.Folders 2025 - 2026 not shownRestored catalog backup
Hi, I have been using Lightroom for years. I discovered that the last edits I did on images for a job were not saved -150 images :(. My images are Raw (NEF), all the settings are good: “saving metadata” not on pause, “automatically write changes into sidecar files (xmp)” set, I am not editing my raw files from images where they were imported (they are in the right explorer file) All of my other RAW images in explorer have their xmp next to them, but not these 150 ones. The thing I have been experiencing lately is, when I close Lightroom, it tells me that it is still writing the xmp. And I wait and wait (for hours sometimes) and the status never changes. So I have to close Lightroom nevertheless. I don’t know if the xmp files have not been created or if they have been saved somewhere else. And I don’t know how to solve this problem, at least for the next edits I’ll do. One of the weird things is that the rating of the files (one, two stars) was saved - the ratings should also appear in
