Idea: The ability to mark a Collection as a favorite and have ability to somehow turn on/off display of Favorited Collections or some other way to seperate Favorites. This would be real nice for those with large collections - not having to search for that commonly used collection each time. Maybe incorporating colors into it somehow (sort/filter collections by color labels?)
There has been some discussion about the problem LrC has with ACR masks. See my comment in this discussion: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/lightroom-has-encountered-problems-reading-this-photo-since-upgrade-to-lightroom-14-0-1/m-p/14943179 That problem is not easy to reliably reproduce, but when making extensive use of masks, at some point LrC reports there has been an error and the file can no longer be edited. At that point you were toast and all your work was lost. There seems to have some improvement in v15.1 since when the error occurs now after shutting down and restarting it is sometimes possible to continue editing and exporting the file. But the performance is erratic. Most of the time with light use of masks no error occurs. In order to try to avoid this error I have started Using LrC to open files as smart objects in Photoshop26, and then do the ACR edits in PS. The smart objects seem to work as
[Win 11 & LRClassic with all current updates.]Upon synchronizing some folders, LR showed that a number of files were "Missing." However, the files are very much NOT missing. They are healthy, stable files that are located in precisely the right spot. And yet, no amount of Finding or Locating these files seems to convince LR of their presence. Recently, I've had this happen occasionally, but I could simply Remove the image from the Library, then immediately re-sync the folder. Problem fixed. (Not actually fixed, but a workaround, at least.)However, the workaround is no longer working around. LR is insisting that files are Missing, and I am unable to convince it, otherwise. I've been using LR since 1.0, so I'm pretty familiar with these things, but this one has me stumped. Hopefully, it's just me, and I am failing to see the obvious. Any help would be much appreciated.PS: Now, on top of all that, I'm trying to include a series of e
Collapsing a stack in a keyword filtered view where only the top photo in the stack has that keyword causes all of the collapsed photos to be added to the set of target photos. Steps to reproduce: - In grid view, apply a filter by keyword that contains stacked photos, where only the first photo in the stack has the keyword applied - Select such a stacked photo - If already expanded, collapse the stack. If already collapsed, expand and then collapse. It is the collapse action that triggers what I think is a bug. Expectedly, the grid and filmstrip views do not change while in the filtered view except that the stacking badge for the selected photo changes between (n) and (1 of n). Visually, this seems like correct behavior because the collapsed photos don't have the keyword. However - Unexpectedly, the action of collapsing the stack causes the collapsed photos to be added to the filtered set behind-the-scenes. This is evidenced both in th

Hi FolksI have been using LR Classic for over 3 years without any issues.Suddenly though, I am unable to import images direct from either of my two cameras in the usuial fashion. The Import screen does not appear to detect any images on the memory card. (It doesn't matter how long I leave it - even if there is only 1 image too! (Pic attached)Then I can not close the Import screen and have to use Task Manager to close LR.It will not let me drag and drop from the Windoes 11 Folder menu (Pic attached)The only way I can drag and drop is to copy the Images(s) from the Mem card into a new Folder on the PC and drag them from there. This is obviously unsatisfactory.I wonder if it is anything to do with the recent ipdate to 15.1? (System Info attached)Camera are Nikon Z8 and D850.I hope somebody can help. Thanks -David [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules. Recently when I synch HEIC images from my iphone they are not visable in lightroom classic or photoshop. LR says it has encountered problems reading this photo and photoshop says an unknown AIDE library error has occured. Strange thing is these images are viewable on the creative cloud desktop and can be opened in Lightroom Desktop.I have the latest codecs and Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling all three programsAny ideas?
Hi, when stitching panoramas in Lightroom classic (macOS), I get heavy banding / unexpected (blue) color gradients in the sky sections - so both when Lightroom is simply stitching panoramas (not happening when stitching through Photoshop 2026), but especially noticeable when using the functionality "Fill edges" - it's basically completely unusable since version 15.1. See example attached, for comparison between stitching with or without filling edges...By the way, the result comes out exactly like this - also when exporting the resulting file (to Jpeg or tiff ort whatever), it looks exactly the same; in Photoshop stitching works like a charm though, result as always... So I'd say, it's definitely a Lightroom Classic bug.Maybe some of your devs played with the Ai too much, in order to speed things up in Lightroom, and it wasn't tested thoroughly in Beta versions of course - since app. most users don't notice anyway (at least I didn't read any other bug reports on this so far)
For 15 years I've made a book with my best pictures and pictures telling stories of main events of the year and send it to family and friends. The books are made with exactly the same design and exported as a pdf. Now I want to make a Blurb book with all the pages from the last ten years. But I can't find a way to move pages between books – to accumulate pages from those ten books to a new one to be printed with Blurb. I would appreciate a way to move pages between books. It's OK if I have to reformat, but texts and images should be preserved.
Hi all, I'm a lifelong PC user who just bought a new Mac Mini M4 pro. I would like to transfer my existing LrC Catalog and 1.5 TB of photos from my PC to my new Mac Mini M4 pro. I've searched this site but couldn't really find specifics to my exact situation so excuse me if this is redundant information etc.. Excuse my ignorance, but I would like some expert advise before I attempt this transfer since I've read conflicting information on this process. I would like to keep this simple and intend to just use my existing external formatted NTFS drive from my PC which contains my catalog and all my photos and copy those files to another APFS formatted external hard drive on the new Mac. My understanding is that that MacOS can read a NTFS drive but can't write to it so I'm assuming my intended method will work. That being said, most folks recommend formatting the PC external drive to exFat before I copy to the files to my new external APFS external drive on the
Lightroom gives me this warning every time it starts up but I've already learned the hard way that if I don't limit the number of backups it will take over and flood my hard drive with endless backups which I don't want. A few recent backups is all I would ever want and actually have never used a catalog backup in all of the years I've used Lightroom. What do the experts say, just ignore this worning and continue to work with Lightroom and enjoy saving precious hard drive space?

A few days before Christmas, i decided to move my ~30k photos from my local storage to Lightroom CC so that i can access and edit them from anywhere. So what i did for each of my main folder (ex: family, sports, etc): - export folder as catalog - import catalog in Lightroom CC This allowed me to move in batches of 1k-5k photos. Now i realize i probably made a mistake. Because using Lightroom Classic is still useful. So i think i should have simply turned on Sync in Lighroom Classic. And that's what i did now, expecting that it would sync only the "test" synced collection i just created. But it seems to be downloading the 30k pictures from the cloud. I think that now i have 2 complete archive of my pictures, one local and one in the cloud, but with the way i've done things, Lighroom sees those as 2 different things and wont be happy until the remote archive is downloaded, or the local archive is uploaded. Which means what i have done so far was useless. So how can i
Since upgrading to LR 15 and now 15.1, the develop module is very slow. Switching pictures or applying settings can freeze the interface for many seconds, and my CPU remains pinned for a long time after switching images. I've tried many of the suggestions that I found in other similar posts regarding prior versions of LR Classic, but nothing is really helping now. No matter what settings I use for Graphics Acceleration (and even though it says it's fully accelerated), it's using mostly CPU and almost no GPU. Has anyone else encountered this in 15.1 and found any resolution? Here's my System Info as reported by Lightroom: Lightroom Classic version: 15.1 [ 202512101606-1bb801a8 ]License: Creative CloudLanguage setting: enOperating system: Windows 10 - Business EditionVersion: 10.0.19045Application architecture: x64System architecture: x64Logical processor count: 8Processor speed: 4.2GHzSqLite Version: 3.36.0Adobe GSDK Version: 1.4.0.171 CPU Utilisation
Happy New Year everyone. So i dont know if super resolution is working properly as i click on the box, the progress bar appears and completes but the pixel count and file seem to remain unaltered . I understood [ a bit like de-noise used to do] a separate DNG file was created but that isn't happening. Advice needed please.
After importing images into a new catalog, they are not showing up visibly. I have to shut LR down, then reopen in order to see the images I just imported. This has never happened before. I use Lightroom Classic on MacOS Tahoe 26.1. It only began after I updated the latest version of Lightroom Classic 15.0.1 The images are all there, but it's not very productive to have to shut down, then restart the program. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Any solutions?
Running Lightroom Classic on Windows 11. I have not had any issues previously with this setup previously. The issue only appears to happen on images taken earlier than 2025. I have been running the same hardware, cameras etc for the last couple of years. I'm not sure if this is related to a recent Lightroom update. I haven't tried to edit any photos from earlier than 2025 for a number of months. When trying to open files in the Develop module, when hovering the mouse over the 3 dots above each thumbnail it shows "Loading". Clicking on the image does not open the file into the module. My files are all saved as Original + Smart Preview. I assume it is the Smart Preview that I can "open" in the Library module. If I right click on the image and "Go to file in library", the file is in the expected folder. If I "Show in Explorer", the file and associated XMP are in the expected location. I can then open the
My MS Surface Pro won't import MP4 files taken with a Sony A6600. What's worse, any folder containing MP4 files will prevent ALL photos from importing. If I pick a folder without any MP4 files - all good. But any folder containing an MP4 file locks up the entire folder. However, on my Dell XPS 9500 - Everything works - all MP4s import as expected - no issues. The surface runs an ARM processor, which Adobe says isn't supported yet, but it notes that the Intel versions should work. Is there any way to filter the import so it will not try and import MP4s - I will have to separate videos into a separate folder in the meantime. I want to create a 16" wide by 20" high print. I have done this successfully in the print module and used print to file . Everything looks ok but the picture looks paler/less vibrant. So I went to the usual export process in the library module. . The aspect ratio is set at 4x5 but lightroom will not export at 16"x20" . It will keep 16" but then changes the other dimension to 12.5" . When exported if I try changing it to 20" high the horizontal dimension moves to 25". I'm not sure what's going on . How can I export correctly at 16@ x 20" ?
I have the lastest LR classic 15.1 and whenever the PC awake from screen timeout, the LR and the whole system would freeze, causes PC automatically restart with the message of TDR error or DPC watchdog violation. If I stops the GPU acceleration options in Preference>>Performance than everything is fine.
I have some 850 images to import to LRC 14.0.1, and many among them are heavily underexposed. (no fault of the photographer as they are of a speaker and their slides in a room with house lights dimmed). I would like to apply the "Auto" radio button as in "Develop", but when calling the Apply During Import dropdown, I get a huge range of choices that does NOT include the simple "Auto" which is offered in "Develop". Can anyone out there please suggest a fix for a relative novice? (Clearly we will not be keeping all 850)Anthony
