Can Lightroom CC photos be shown on a NON-smart TV, perhaps with the aid of Amazon Fire TV? This would be similar to Amazon Prime Photos which can be shown on any TV that has the Fire TV connected? There must be a way ----.
Surprised there is no red eye removal (that I can find) in the new Lightroom CC. Am I just missing something?
In a recent blog post about the newest updates to Lightroom, we can read: >Embedded ISO HDR Gain Map support on export also means you no longer have to create two separate files for SDR and HDR. The HDR Gain Map will enable showing either the SDR or HDR rendition of your photo automatically based on display capabilities, ensuring a consistent viewing experience across devices. HDR Gain Maps are now supported in many apps such as Apple Photos, Google Chrome, and Instagram. I quickly updated the Lightroom desktop to v. 8.0 to check it. I took one of the files I developed with the HDR effect and exported it to JPEG plus JPEGXL and AVIF with "HDR output" selected. I don't see any difference. As in previous versions of Lightroom, AVIF and JPEGXL are HDR 10-bit images with no gain map. They look great* in Apple Photos on HDR displays but terrible otherwise. The JPG file does contain a gain map, but that happened after exporting from the previous version of Lightroom as well

Hi,On my iPad, I see there are options to share and export raw files as jxl (great), I was wondering: 1. Where can I find details on the type of compression? As in, is it lossless, does it maintain 16-bit depth, etc..2. There is a big difference in size when picking 90% or 100% quality - is there any recommendation on which one to use?3. Given the size reduction and tiny quality reduction, is anyone converting their raw catalog into jxl? Thank you!
Hi everyone, I added some photos that I wanted to edit. However, I can't seem to find them, and when I try to re-add them, it tells me they have already been added, and I can't re-add them. Where can I find them?? They aren't under All photos > Recently added and I can't seem to find them anywhere else. I'm using Mac, Adobe Lightroom version 7.5
Hi! This is probably a really silly question but I'm very new to Adobe products and not the best with figuring out apps. I have been using Lightroom on my computer for a little while now but recently got an iPad. I downloaded "Lightroom Photo & Video Editor" but when I opened it, it suggested downloading "Adobe Lightroom for iPad" .. I just wanted to make sure that these are both legit Adobe apps and that "Adobe Lightroom for iPad" is indeed a real thing, and not a scam? I'm just confused as to why there are two Lightroom apps available and want to be sure I'm not doing anything dumb. Can anyone help with this?
Bonjour à tous, Je travaille sous lightroom.Mon cloud de 100go est plein. Naturellement j'ai supprimer des photos. Supprimer deffinitivement les photos. Je ne sais pas quoi faire. HELP ! Merci.
I have the latest update for Lightroom Ecosystem and it is now not allowing me to import NEF or .CR2 files. Has anyone else had this issue? I get this error message below:
I am wanting to buy a higher spec Mac and I am wondering if LR will benefit from more GPU cores (think Mac Studio) or should I just focus on getting as much RAM (unified memory) as possible? Thanks
When exporting a copy of a file from Lightroom (cloud-based, not classic) I'm only able to adjust the output with either "long-side pixel dimension" or the very ambiguous "quality %", but nearly every time I'm exporting anything other than 100% size and quality, it is because of a file size limitation on someone's upload portal or their required submission standards, so all I'm really intersted in when exporting in this way is file size in MP. I would LOVE to be able to dial up or down the export file size (not dimension, but MP size), and just have the corresponding pixel dimensions go up or down accordingly (with fixed proportions of course), so that if a site requires a file that is under 5MP, and I want to get as close to that limit as I can while not exceeding it, I can just move the slider until the file us under that 5MP limit while the overall image size would just move up or down as a % of the original size. In the current setup, the only option is a clumsy game
I have been using a Chromebook tablet to edit all my photos on the Lightroom app. It has started not working so well and I'm in fear of it breaking and me losing all my photos and their edits. Is there a way to back up the files of the up onto a computer or hard drive so I can then later move it all to a new tablet and have all my photos there organized in there albums and folders and with their edits? I am not taking about just exporting photos, I would like to back app up the "entire" app to a different device to on the new device it would look exactly the same as the old as if I have been using the new one the whole time. Hope that's easy to understand, thanks
I shared a photo titled "Eastern Bluebird" with the community but it still says "This edit is still processing. Check back later". I have removed and attempted to re-share multiple times but the message persists. This has been happening for several days. I am able to share other photos with no problems.
It would be great if there's an option to use focus bracketed images for far more accurate depth map estimation with an algorithm or with AI, instead of using AI alone to guess from a single image, allowing users to change the focal point and depth of field of the image more accurate or achieve a more faithful representation of the actual image it could also pick which images from the stack should be used or combined automatically so the focal point picked on post (Lightroom lens blur) would be sharp but presented as it is, without distortion or alteration. Thank you.
I am using a MacBook Pro M2 with Sequoia 15.1.1. I have been using LR Desktop for about a year now. It has run perfectly. LR was automatically updated to 8.1. Unfortunately, now when I launch LR Desktop, the left side panel shows Favorites and Browse. When I click Browse, nothing happens. My external drives do not appear and I cannot select my photos. Sometimes I get a blue spinning circle. A couple of times after several minutes, the drives appeared. However, if I quit the application and launch again, the side screen is black again not showing any drives and not permitting me to Browse to find them. I also have the latest version of LR Classic and that finds my drives just fine. Is there any solution to LR 8.1? I no longer use Classic.
I just upgraded to a newer ipad from my iPad 7. I was running ios 15.6. Apparently, now that I'm using the most recent version of the ipad Lightroom app, I can no longer crop in full screen mode. I was told i needed to put in a feature request. This baffles me because I don't know why this was taken away in the first place. It's difficult to get corners straight without being able to do this. Maybe you could also bring back the ability to overlay the grid in full screen crop, also. I remember that back in ios 14. But hey... i don't want to get ahead of myself. One thing at a time.
The Lightroom app on both my iPhone and iPad is automatically adding hundreds of photos to an album even though I have "auto add" turned off. It's turned off on both my phone and my iPad.I have manually removed all the photos that didn't belong from the album only to have the app automatically add them again. I'd appreciate any help you could offer.
I keep getting the note "Some AI settings need to be recomputed" but when I try to update it fails every time, giving me the note "something went wrong". I can't use the Lens Blur feature, the Masking feature won't detect the subjects and gives me the "something went wrong" note, and most of my downloaded presets won't load on my photos. I can use the Lens Blur featue and Masking feature on my mobile device without this note and with no issues, but using my HP laptop with Windows 10, I keep having issues. I have uninstalled Lightroom and reinstalled it and nothing changed. Not sure what to do from here?
I tried some photos I took today with my new SonyA1M2and opened the photos in the local folder (not the cloud). I was surprised that every time I had done some edits I got the message "lightroom cannot save edits to (name of the file) because it is read only, please change permission and try again or send it to the cloud" ????? What am I doing wrong? I first transferred the photos from my memory card to my PC in the specific folder with the name of the birds I took and opened them from there in LR
Hello, I have an active premium yearly subscription for Lightroom app, on an android phone (next payment date in Mar 2025, as shown in the google play store). Nevertheless, part of process of buying a new handset and transfering my apps to the new phone, i am unable to "restore my purchase". I get the next error message on my new phone: "the purchase found could not be restored, because i has been already been claimed".As suggested, i am logged in with the same account in both the lightroom and the google play store. The old handset went through a 'factory reset', all data has been erased. Thank you in advance for any advice.
I had bought the Lightroom premium monthly 40GB plan earlier this day and waited about 3 hours for it to update. Still it is not activated and unable to access the service. Is there something I am missing?
I've just filed a feature request to update the FAQ page https://help.myportfolio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036483773-Embed-module to include code to embed an Instagram grid. The code is: <iframe src="http://instagram.com/USERNAME/embed" width="800" height="800" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> The crucial details are: that the Instagram USERNAME is followed by "/embed" that in Instagram > Settings > Sharing and Re-use, you need to enable Website embeds
I generally process Canon CR2 files and then Export As jpeg to output files. I have been happy with the results, which reflect my Lightroom edits. Today, I processed some jpegs from a Fuji compact camera and again Exported As jpeg. I noticed that some of the Exported As jpegs were much darker than they appeared in my Lightroom app after editing. I have never noticed this before. I then saved the same files using Save To Device instead and this time they faithfully reflected my Lightroom edits. I don't understand the difference between these to output choices. What I do notice is that exporting my edits using Save To Device takes longer than Export As jpeg, however. Can anybody shed any light on my experience? Thanks.
